From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

This little cafe sits right by the sea. The staff are really lovely and welcoming, despite finishing food for the day they still agreed to cook for us. Ham, egg and chips was amazing and our little one was very happy with his sausage, chips and beans. The menu is pretty extensive and there was some lovely cakes on offer too. Reasonably priced with proper mugs of tea. Toilets were also spotless which is also imperative!

This is a great 'out of the way' place to stop and have a quick bite to eat or drink, the cafe is set in the grounds of the abbey and there is seating inside and out. A lovely location on any day. There is a small menu of food available. Plus homemade cakes and hot drinks

People were very friendly and bar area dining area was warm and bright. Probably at its best in summer as huge glass windows give out onto mountain backdrop. Draught beer included an ale from Brotherswater which was excellent. Food was good without being exceptional. You need to book. Works in sittings but there was ample time given.

While a Historic venue, very picturesque, with helpful and attentive staff for the most part, for the price, the lunch was a bit of a let down. I get that its December, and that gives places carte blanche to fire out mediocre meals on the excuse that its Christmas, and we're busy, and its a set menu... but the decision to use a set menu should enable quality to be maintained. The food was bland, not hot and to be honest a real disappointment. The only reason for not raising a complaint at the time was that we didnt want to upset the guest of honour at the family gathering. Sadly, I had a better meal the following day at a Hungry Horse with a glass of wine all in for a tenner... so I know where I will be going next time.

yates. what a classic. seriously, it's an absolute classic and staple of newport's mean streets, but it's time to mourn the sad death of yates as it is being replaced by a new restaurant of the same franchise owners.i went to yates recently but i am very sad to hear it is shutting down. value was special. food was special. everything else was a little special, it was sort of like a sprinkle of specials all around since it did have a good place in mon heart.very sad to hear it is shutting down. hacked off at whoever made the decision. bun them fully, bun them 100 and 10 percent.
