The best restaurants serving British food in Rottingdean Coastal Brighton and Hove South East

I am a regular visitor of this little gem. I love everything they sell! Their cakes are gorgeous, they offer a delicious selection of healthy colourful salads, the coffee is decent and their toastiest are to die for! So happy to have this so close to me. Staff are always very friendly too.

I've been here a few times and had a nice enough time, but last Thursday I had a disappointing visit. I wanted a lunch which wasn't bread based so asked for the soup - they had ran out. I looked back at the menu and decided I'd try one of the salads - not available. The other salad? Also not available. I think they can do better than this. Ended up with hummus and tomatoes on toast which was extremely average, after a 30 min wait. I also ordered a chocolate chai which tasted of pure sugar and nothing else. Disappointing visit.

Good ambience and beach views. Our £17 glass of champagne was served in a plastic glass! Nachos were tasty and fresh.

Great food served hot and on hot plates, the bar and waiting staff are simply amazing and a credit to the proprietors, highly recommend the Sunday Roast….first class

Lovely, lovely cafe to go and have breakfast lunch or tea in. The people who work there are so nice and the service is great as is the food. Had a bacon sandwich which was the nicest have ever had as the bread was fluffy and the bacon cooked so nicely it took it onto a whole new level. They always have beautiful cards and artwork and things for sale ~ reminded me that I need to go there for Christmas gifts as it’s so lovely to get a handcrafted local artist item for not a lot ~ and it makes for such a personal present Bought a Brighton calendar and also a piece of framed art of the pier for a friend as a gift and am so pleased with them both. Note to self to go there for presents as well as a yummy stop off for some delicious food and drinks. Thank you 🙏

Found this lovely place while out walking, no inside seating but we were lucky it was a nice dry day, there is shelter to sit under, lots of dogs too which was good as we had ours. Nice cuppa coffee & a scone , only thing was butter was to hard & my scone all fell to pieces, although it was tasty.

A quaint tea room in the heart of Rottingdean. Delicious home cooked food with generous portions. The staff are extremely friendly and kind.

Received a gift box of cheeses, cured meats and craft beers from The Great British Charcuterie. Some wonderful flavours all round, and as a gift it was all very well-wrapped and presented and delivered swiftly. Would definitely think of sending as a gift to someone else as a bit more unusual.

It's great, always great food from the wide menu, spoilt for choice, and a friendly welcom. Plenty of parking for the drivers and riders, just remember to log your number plate in for a couple of hours free parking.

Superb roast dinner on Sunday. The beef and lamb was cooked really well and the roast potatoes were perfect. I'll certainly be coming back for a roast some time soon.

Very pleasant and friendly staff. We were warmly greeted by both members of staff. Quickly served and the food was delicious. Coffee was too ! I had a bacon and maple syrup pancake stack and my companion the eggs benedict, which he really enjoyed. The bacon on both dishes was great.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch today at 12noon. Lucky to get a table as most were booked. The Sunday roast was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff were a bit local and surely, but otherwise a lovely visit.

I asked about dairy allergy was told not to have the mash and not the cauliflower cheese and the gravy. After having some of the vegetables, I was told by a friend that they put butter on the vegetables to make them look nice. I have since been back and forth to the toilet. Thanks for the wrong information. Won't be going here again.

I ate at this restaurant whilst staying in the attached hotel. Service was good and food was excellent. I visited on a Thursday evening when there was a ‘half price steak’ night which excellent value. The wine list was limited but with a good selection of options available.
