Roedean Cafe & Miniature Golf Club in Brighton and Hove

Following on from the owners reply to my review. There was nobody sitting anywher near me and when asked to turn off phone which was only just loud enough for me to hear I was happy to comply. I made a mistake in saying my laptop was plugged in. It was only my mobile which was being charged at the powersockets next to the table. They generally take about 3 watts of power. Again, I readily unplugged it when asked to by the man accusing me of "stealing electricity". He disappeared but came back when he saw my review accurately saying what had just transpired and asked me to leave. Which again I readily did; not wanting to stay in an environment with someone like that. I sat away from the cafe at empty picnic tables on a nearby golf course in the sun. Which is what tourists do when on holiday. About five minutes later the same character comes out and asks me to leave here claiming he also owns the golf course. The whole affair was reminiscent of scenes from Fawlty Towers!

It's great, always great food from the wide menu, spoilt for choice, and a friendly welcom. Plenty of parking for the drivers and riders, just remember to log your number plate in for a couple of hours free parking.

I had breakfast there twice last week with my family. The offer, the ambience and the view were pricelessly good. We would stop by more often if we lived nearby. Best Full British in town

Sea view + delicious food + friendly staff

The food was fabulous and warm. It was all very delicious and with massive portions. The service was friendly and quick. The cafe had stunning views of the sea and marina with comfy seats. The ice cream portions are huge and great value.

A cozy cafe that uses high quality ingredients beautifully prepared.

Este solía ser nuestro lugar favorito para desayunar, pero en mis últimas tres visitas se han quedado sin setas o salchichas. Culpan a su proveedor pero me parece mala gestión

The customer service was non inexistent, the food was very limited for the price, I asked for ham and eggs and mushroom. I got salad HALF A SLICE OF TOST AVOID IF YOU want a good breakfast thay put garlic in my mushrooms?

We come here very often, the food is good and very reasonably priced. This last time we both had sausage and mashed potato. Yum!

As always, with any review I give, I begin with 3 and add or detract accordingly. My previous three visits to this cafe were underwhelming but this one topped the others. Just because you offer a view does not afford you the right to charge ridiculous prices for very, very poor quality food. On my table today were four individuals. 3 out of four food the food to be uncooked, cold, over seasoned and in some cases(bacon) overcooked and inedible. I will not be revisiting and recommend avoidance. Setting 5/5. Seating comfort(space) 2/5. Cleanliness 3-5. Value for money. 1/5. Staff 3/5. FOOD 1/5.

Habíamos pasado por aquí numerosas veces pensando que era solo para el golf! Se nos recomendó debido al aparcamiento gratuito (asegúrese de introducir su registro dentro de la cafetería). Fuimos a desayunar y hay una muy buena opción de menú a un precio razonable. La comida se cocina por encargo y todo cocinado en casa. El café vino en una taza y es un tamaño realmente decente, y los batidos estaban deliciosos. La comida era absolutamente deliciosa y el personal era encantador. Muy recomendable

Lovely little cafe on main road near Rodean school overlooking marina and sea. Free carpark if using cafe. Good choice of menus reasonably priced all home cooked and cooked to order.

Disappointed that the hot bacon and egg sandwich where the bread was too thin, not enough substance, otherwise pleasant service and clean tables

Had multiple hairs in my food, the quality is very low it’s all the cheapest ingredients possible thrown out as quick as possible for the highest price possible…. Used to be cheaper and quite wholesome, now it feels like they’ve given up and are just rinsing there location :(

Friendly staff and a great location. The English breakfasts are very good and the golf is worth a go too!

Lovely breakfast but a little bit slow

Free parking for 2.5 hours when you use the cafe, need to enter your car registration at the screen inside the cafe. £2 for a soft drink and use the toilet. Staff are friendly and polite.

Todo el peor jamón, huevo y patatas fritas que he tenido El jamón era delgado como una oblea, el jamón económico caliente del supermercado, el huevo frito estaba apagado, la guarnición de la ensalada estaba caliente y húmeda y las patatas fritas parecían de segunda mano y re-calentado

Awful service - terrible staff attitude from the drink maker

The food was excellent and so was the service from the workers all of them kind and helpful. I also saw the incident that happened with one of the customers and a worker and the customer was way out of line because the worker was trying to explain something to him but he wouldn’t listen and got all loud and aggressive. So they did the right thing and told him to leave.

Awful service...I say service, we didn't get served as they couldn't handle the fact there were 7 of us. To arrive to be greeted with animosity before we had even asked for anything wa profound. To top it they couldn't take drinks and food orders on 1 pad. Shocking.

Best Pitch&Putt around! Play here almost every weekend we can, stuff are great and just a good spot for food and casual golf. Near the Marina as well.

Been here many times over the last couple years but suddenly things seem to have gone wrong. Salmon on scrambled egg on toast literally thrown together, egg on salmon(should be salmon on egg so you can do the lemon and pepper on the salmon) on toast in a real mess . Set breakfast was genuinely bad. Two of the dryest thinnest bits of bacon, half a tinned tomato with no tomato juice and the small dry sausage.. As we left, called out a thank you and the younger guy behind the counter said thanks without even looking up at us... Poor food, poor service. Never a good combination. A real shame as this was a favourite spot for Sunday breakfast and hope the owners take note

What a delightful cafe. Clean, lovely environment with great sea views , indoor and outdoor seating. Great staff and service, high quality food with a wide ranging menu. Free car parking ( you have to register your reg when you go to the till)

First time here, had the Roedean breakfast, gorgeous. Friendly staff and the view is amazing.

Second time i come all the way from Brighton to this caffe and they can’t make a simple bacon and egg sandwich, DO NOT WASTE YOURE MKNEY HERE.

Handy cafe, ok food, burger was expensive

Lovely place, great views, should be amazing in summer. Unfortunately no vegan set breakfast but it's easy enough to swap things or build your own. Vegetarian and omni friends had a massive fry up, I was very jealous!

Met up with friends for brunch . Had a really good fish finger sandwich in granary bread . It was very nice and a good price. Also had a flat white coffee.

the food was amazing quality and the service was great. the only negative i doing was that the tables and high chairs were very dirty and sticky. there was ketchup marks all over the high chairs and kids toys/book which i'd hoped would get cleaned each day at least. but that didn't take away from the yummy food and kind servers!

Still my favourite cafe in Brighton & Hove. The staff are friendly and attentive. The view is beautiful. Most importantly the food is lovely. It was lunch time and I wanted a snack so went for scrambled eggs on toast. I was offered a choice of 5 different types of bread for the toast ! The eggs were delicious, very creamy. My Dad is a regular and was recognised as soon as we arrived. His regular order of ham, egg & chips, with a cup of tea was as good as ever. he says that theirs is the best.

What a great little dinner, cooked breakfast and other assortments of lunches and snacks, good prices, for a pleasant place to eat, and the place is spotless and with friendly staff, can be very busy, but still lovely, great place to sit and watch the sea, great for the summer, and still nice for winter but being so close to the sea you might want sit down.

Sort out ladies toilet!!!! Been going here for years, always great however cold fried egg sitting in pool of oil and cold coffee served with an attitude.

Burnt toast. Really tough bacon. Like it had been in the oven maybe? Anyhow. Generic reply is 'did you speak to a member of staff'. Most people don't, either because they don't want to jeopardise the relationship, or they don't want to wait for it to be resolved to find they are now eating alone because the other parties have finished their meals? This is meant as feedback only.

Lovely cafe high up in front of the golf course, welcoming with good food for passing travellers looking for somewhere to go post lockdown. Having just frequented Roedean cafe again, it is still popular and busy. We had a lovely brunch which we waited for, and it was well worth it! Would still recommend it but beware it is busy on a sunday.

Had a very nice breakfast but this was spoilt by sitting outside on their picnic tables that are very old and have a lot of nail and screw heads sticking out. Sadly, I tore my shorts. I would say these are unsafe and should all be replaced. I told the staff and they were going to mention it to the Manager. Hopefully they will do something about it as it spoilt a nice breakfast.

I first come here 5 or 6 years ago for the end of year Brighton run. Every time I'm in the area I stop off and have breakfast or even an early dinner. Food has always been fresh and very nice. The service is great even when it's busy.

Ive been a customer for many years and its my "go to" place , with free parking for customers , especially with the impossible parking situation in Brighton... Great supporters of the Classic Car world, having many events there , a classic acr event I started in 2008 is still going strong with the owners support..

Fantastic place. Food is always freshly cooked and very well priced. Also has a Gluten Free menu which is great for us as we have Ceoalics in the family. Always a pleasure coming here. Poul goes above and beyond as do all the staff. We use the Cafe for a twice yearly Car Cruz and have done for many years. Poul allows us to park our custom/American Cars on the edge of the Course if we fill the car park up and we always park respectfully. We love this venue and the Owner and Staff and thank them for their hospitality.

Excellent service best place to go for breakfast

Thanks for letting "The Brighton run" use your venue for our classic car gathering, hope the one numpty that parked on a putting green doesn't ruin it for the rest of us.

Sunday 24/09/23 Cruised down to Roedean in about 75 cars, we’ll over 100 of us in total. Plenty of parking for us all, and plenty of seating too. The menu was extensive, and the top quality food was brought to the table, in a timely manner, piping hot, by one of the many young and polite staff members, who are a credit to the owner. Thanks to Derek C for organising this event with the owner, and can’t wait to go again. Ps I’d give more stars if there was an option to.

Great place apart from the coffee: it’s so easy to get decent coffee these days so was a real disappointment to get a really poor, machine made cappuccino. Food was very good though.

Lovely food, but anyone with mobility issues has 2 manage 5 steps so not wheel chair accessible... need a ramp one side

Fantastic breakfast and service 👌🏻

Bright and clean first impressions and really good variety menu. We had sandwiches (choice of three types of bread) and a bowl of chips. The sandwiches had plenty of filling and the chips were crispy and brown and hot! These were all a very reasonable price. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We had a round of golf before our meal which was great fun so would highly recommend the whole experience

Cafe & mini golf. Does great food, you can have 1.5hrs free parking by registering your vehicle on the tablet by the till. You can buy all day parking if you wish. They do a mean double sausage, egg & chips. Coffee is not fancy but it tastes great. Highly recommend

Over the years I have passed this place many times when bussing to and fro between Brighton and East Sussex, so decided to pay a visit. I should've stayed on the bus. Stunning sea views and a mini golf ⛳️ course can't make up for overpriced, inadequate (cold) food. £13.25 for the pictured breakfast (admittedly, I could have tomatoes as well, but declined). A mug of tea plonked on my table, causing spillages that I had to mop up. Breakfast arrived and only then was I informed that I had to fetch my own cutlery (something which could have pointed out when I placed my order). A huge disappointment and I won't be revisiting. Only saved by the location and friendly staff.

Girl serving at counter was extremely rude when I requested my tea in a way I like it ..husband ordered veggie breakfast and was given meat sausage, luckily not allergic and not strict vegetarian

Really gone downhill, my friend had cheese on toast which had been microwaved and left to cold so was a rubbery greasy mess. It took so long I had to ask where it was, it had obviously been sitting on the kitchen side. Only ate some because she was so hungry. Staff not particularly friendly towards us, felt cliquey in there. Used to go fairly regularly but won't go again.

It was ok not what i expected. Lovely view. Not great quality i am sorry to say. We were recommended by a friend . might a have just been one if those days. Thankyou

Along the cliff drive into Brighton it is a lovely cafe. Looked initially like it was just for the putting golf course behind but when there, realised it is more of a local haunt with lots of builders and dog walkers dropping in. Stopped for a drink and ice cream. Very clean and had a 80's Little Chef vibe to it. Well worth a visit but do remember to put your vehicle registration in on the machine as you go in! Lots of reminders all over but you don't want to get a ticket. Worked out why the system is in place as across the road, down the slope are some hidden little beach spots! So don't get caught out. Highly recommend the clotted cream vanilla ice-cream too.

We had a full Roedean breakfast, very tasty and very filling, didnt eat for hours after.

ブライトンスタジアム訪問の後に海を見ながらランチしたいと思い立ち寄りました。海沿いののどかな雰囲気のCafe&Restaurantです。裏側には原っぱの丘が広がっているとかと思いきやゴルフコースのようでした。いい感じです。目の前の時間制限のある無料駐車場に車を停めて、店内でナンバープレート番号を記録します。しさしぶりのFish&Chipsはカリッとさっぱり仕上がっていて美味しかったです。

Always love going to Roedean cafe. Good food, plenty of veg options, large portions served quickly. Plus they host Pebbledash 3rd Friday of the month, a classic car meet up.

Roedean cafe is my favorite breakfast cafe. I really love the mood inside, and also the sea view. I ordered roedean special and got a big plate with 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 tomatoes, 2 bacons, 2 breads and a tea. Everything was so delicious and I was very full. Thank you for serving great english breakfast! I will definitely visit again.

Friendly cafe. Food is basic but reliable. Big carpark but make sure you register at the iPad to avoid a fine. Not expensive.
