The best restaurants serving British food in Brighton and Hove South East

Good food good service good price BUT dreadful acoustics with noise level averaging over 85 decibels- level regarded as uncomfortable. Evening spoilt by shouting from a couple of tables.

Poked our heads in the Sussex Yeoman as we were exploring Brighton and had such a warm welcome and entertaining conversation at the bar with the owner, Magda. She’s recently taken over and renovated the place, offering a fresh alternative to the other pubs in the area. Go check it out!

Great hidden garden and filling portions, great atmosphere, and friendly faces, bartender knew what was good and very gave great recommendations. Had amazing Mexican food and great tacos 🌮 lots of vegan and gluten-free options and served at the table by the chef.

Booked a table for a roast on the Sunday. Table was filthy and not properly clean. Tbf was super busy. Table service. Had to wait ages for our drinks to arrive. Then again ages to order the food. When we did we found out they had run out of the beef. Cauliflower and cheese, pigs and blankets. The portion size was pathetic. Hardly anything really. The broccoli was tough. The one tiny carrot was alright. Chicken was dry but the two potatoes were ok. Maybe it's just the roasts that aren't any good. Cause people were ordering pizzas and they looked the better option. I've been here before and had the nachos which are good. False advertising for a crap roast though.

Really friendly local pub, usually really decent food, welcoming at all times.

Great pub, lovely staff, fab food and great tunes, also has the best pub garden view in all Brighton, would definitely recommend

I love this place because it’s spacious and airy and is a great place to meet friends. It’s also dog friendly which is a massive plus. I love that you can order and pay for what you have rather than doing the whole awkward split the bill thing. I also really like the fact that you can order hot drinks until late at night which is perfect if you’re not drinking alcohol. Al campo is basically a large, aesthetically pleasing cafe which happens to have a license. I love it!

The hamburger was delicious. And the rest of my family had fish and chips. And they sad to me that it was amazing. The serves was also good.

Nice music and dancing on the right, packed later on. A little bit more room in the bar, good service.

Hard to rate this place. The front of house were very accommodating, we didn't have a reservation but they sorted us out. However the food is NOT good (unless you just want chips). No one in our party had anything nice to say about the food and there were 11 of us. Our first round of drinks (when there was just 3 of us) took a long time to arrive (the food came out before the drinks). The subsequent rounds were a little better in speed. The gents were ok but the females in the group said the toilets were not nice. What was good, the location and the live singer

We popped in here for a quick drink as had been walking. There was hardly anyone there as it was late afternoon. It seems a nice cafe type place. Its a bit tired. Needs a bit of tlc

Absolutely gutted it's closed,when will it be open again?been coming here for over 15 years plus lovely food and staff hopefully they reopen

Great service, surprisingly nice light snacks and good draught beer with a beach view. Severely underrated.
