Alcampo Lounge in Brighton and Hove

Alcampo Lounge is one of those places you keep coming back to not just for the great food and drinks, but for the people who make the place feel special. Special shout out to Robbie and Joe who always go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome as well as the rest of the staff tbh. They're friendly, attentive, and really add to the overall vibe. The whole team is lovely, consistently warm and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and quirky in the best way, with comfy seating and a great playlist in the background. Whether you’re grabbing brunch, coffee, or cocktails, it’s always a great experience. Highly recommend!

I hadn't been to al campo for a while but I fancied the beautiful poached eggs and a muffin with the spinach and mushrooms. The atmosphere was as amazing as always has been. The service was great but waited for a while to sit for a while (not the end of the world) but the disappointment came with the food. Whilst it looks lovely, the taste was not what it used to be. The poached eggs were solid not runny, the spinach soaked the bread it was no longer toasted and I'm not sure if they changed the mushrooms from button to 1 large one on each but it was a tad flavourless with added water which soaked the muffin I know first world problems but it didn't give the good vibe.

This place is my go to. Super affordable and great value for money. Staff are always kind and helpful and the general vibe is great. I love the amount of nights they have such as board game night and quiz night. Always have a blessed time when there

Nice place with nice food and great service...another place that is super thoughtful about celiacs. One of those ones that gets the manager to take your order etc. Been a couple of times and will do friend meet ups here. It can be a little loud for me. The staff are really nice so I like it here also there are treats and water for our little Hugo 🐕 Note Some nights they have very loud music Which for me does not fit. Background music live background music is good. Can be enjoyable but when it goes above and beyond foreground music to the point that the speakers are sizzling with static well we cancelled eating out to take out way too loud. Also not impressed with the burgers. Got a 20 pound burger, cuz not eaten all day. See pictures you tell me if you think it's a 20 pound burger and tell me if you really think there's much difference between the 20 pound burger and the 15 pound burger.... definitely dropped to ok from like accept the staff are fantastic. Llegamos a este restaurante como lo hemos hecho antes. Es uno bueno probado y probado. Precios razonables para la comida razonable Me encanta que es apta para perros, aunque no teníamos un perro con nosotros. Me encantan los juegos gratuitos, decoración, periódicos, etc. Una verdadera bolsa mixta de clientela y un anciano caballero estaba vagando confundido, pero uno de los miembros del personal se registró en él. Teníamos las quesadillas y estaban muy bien. (Originalmente habíamos planeado ir a un restaurante mexicano local que fue una mala experiencia) Personal amable y fácil de pedir con un tiempo de espera aceptable para la comida. El único problema tonto es que hay un cartel que dice por favor espere a sentarse. Pero después de 5 minutos nos rendimos y encontramos nuestra propia mesa. Simplemente deshaz el letrero cuando no sea necesario... Volverá...

There was a loud ass dog barking constantly which was annoying and my food portion was really small, it pmo but the my curry was alright and my gf’s burger was goated

Una joven se acercó y se disculpó por la espera y nos ofreció bebidas de cortesía mientras continuamos esperando, lo cual fue apreciado y parecía genuino, ya que no tenía control sobre el estrés del día.

Me and my partner come here a lot as the food is always consistent and the large menu lets us get very different meals at the same time. I can get tapas, while he gets a full English. Great place!

It's a bit on the expensive side of dining out, but a pleasant place

Quite a varied menu including a range of gluten free options. Service was quick and efficient via the app and the food was of decent quality. On the down side the seating was a little uncomfortable. The toilet cubicles sadly were utterly disgusting with no paper and one having soiled clothing in a corner despite supposedly being checked recently according to the chart on the door. Happily I'd already eaten. Overall, a decent meal let down by poor toilet facilities

I’ve been coming here for some years, I really enjoy the decor food and helpful staff! Good varied menu, I love the zoned off areas. Catering to large groups as well as for those wanting to find a quiet corner! Also dog friendly, what’s not to like! I’m adding to my above review, sadly this visit was very disappointing! Over cooked sausage, the presentation wasn’t good!

I visited with family a week ago, and we were initially impressed with the service and decor. Unfortunately, the food left an awful lot to be desired. Food which was supposed to be hot was stone cold and served on cold plates. The eggs in particular were most unpleasant, and not properly cooked. We mentioned this to 3 different members of staff and their response was largely dismissive with just a cursory apology. I emailed the following day, but have yet to receive a response.

The food looked really good when it arrived, but we found it disappointing and bland. For ex, the food wasn’t hot, eggs were cold and both overcooked on the bottom and undercooked gooey whites on top, soggy hash browns. It’s a bit expensive for the quality of food

I love this place because it’s spacious and airy and is a great place to meet friends. It’s also dog friendly which is a massive plus. I love that you can order and pay for what you have rather than doing the whole awkward split the bill thing. I also really like the fact that you can order hot drinks until late at night which is perfect if you’re not drinking alcohol. Al campo is basically a large, aesthetically pleasing cafe which happens to have a license. I love it!

Lovely space to have a drink whilst working or socialising- I come here a lot when out and needing a place to charge devices and get something to eat. Very cosy atmosphere and dog friendly too!

I like the most here is meals. tasty and not costly. Music is too loud. Sometimes you can't hear your own voice! to be honest staff is not well (though some of them were great!) forgetting cutlery, dirty tables, etc heating is well, toilets are clean. over all, this place deserves 4 stars

I came here 3 days ago and had the cauliflower tapas . The cauliflower came with very little sauce making the meal very dry . I also sat on table 31 ( the couches ) and happened to drop something inbetween the sofa cushions . When I took the sofa cushions off to retrieve my lost item I was suprised to see millions of specs of dirt and gum and hair . Looked like the bottom couch hadn’t been cleaned for years . Apart from this , the staff were very friendly . Therefore , I’d give this place 2 stars . Update … I came back here a few days ago . Better than the last visit with the food and atmosphere , however the workers didn’t look their happiest . They looked like they were being overworked . Lounges has alot of potential and this potential could definitely be fulfilled if the workers got paid more and weren’t overworked . Shame to see .

Staff very friendly and helpful. When one accidentally spilt a drink down one of our party she was given a free drink to say sorry. Food was decent. Good options for veggies etc and plenty to choose from on the drinks menu. Plus 2 for 1 cocktails on a Saturday.

A Ceoliac it’’always great to find somewhere new that feels safe to eat. The person that served me was really friendly & helpful & the food was great. The room is spacious & I didn’t find it too loud.

Affordable place for food and drink. Lots of vegan and veggie choice. Avocado toast brunch was flavourful and decent size potion. Too many children running around and thoughtless middle class parents (typical of Brighton) not stopping them when I went though. Felt sorry for the waiting staff having to dodge them.

Brighton's Alcampo Lounge on the London road is up to the group's usual standard. Food & service were good. It was very quiet when we last went (Sunday breakfast time) and the order wasn't super fast, but acceptable. Pancakes were really good.

We popped in here before going to see a concert. It was great. Service and food were really good and the menu was diverse with something appealing for all tastes. I loved that you could order using a QR code at the table. I’ll definitely be back.

Realmente odio escribir malas críticas, pero sentí que esto tenía que ser dirigido a la dirección. He estado aquí muchas veces antes y a menudo voy a los diversos salones a través de Sussex, pero esta vez fue muy pobre. Podías decir que tenían poco personal en el minuto que entraste ya que todas las mesas vacías no habían sido limpiadas, así que limpiamos nuestra mesa nosotros mismos al llegar. Dos empleados corriendo de un lado a otro a la cocina / bar bendecirlos se podía decir que estaban tratando. Esperamos 20 minutos para las bebidas y 55 minutos para nuestra comida, que era bastante corto, pero no esperaba que la comida se congelara. Mis padres tenían sándwiches de tocino y papas fritas para compartir. Señalaron que las papas fritas estaban frías cuando llegaron, por lo que fueron devueltas. Luego mordieron sus sándwiches que también estaban helados, por lo tanto, el tocino había comenzado a ir muy duro. Mencionaron al camarero después de la comida que dijo que nos darían un reembolso por la comida fría y que se había puesto a través de la caja - 3 días después todavía no he recibido mi reembolso. Qué lástima que por lo general nunca he tenido una mala experiencia.

Nice place relaxing and meeting friends

Visited for the first time with my son and his partner it was amazing.

Staff don’t even acknowledge you, even when standing at the bar, two staff members actually turned their back when I walked to the bar! After ordering 2 drinks, I was told they would bring it over. I went and got one of the drinks after 10 minutes, they hadn’t even started preparing the other one. Safe to say we didn’t feel like staying for a meal as that was our experience in the first 20 mins… That’s place, just shame no one is taking any kind of leadership on the restaurant floor.

Fui con amigos y familiares a celebrar mi cumpleaños. Empezó mal cuando se le informó que no había Presecco. Aparentemente la noche anterior a una fiesta había pedido 7 botellas, no en mi mente una cantidad extraordinaria pero no les quedaba ninguna... ¡qué cumpleaños sin Prosecco! A continuación, toda la comida se servía fría. Se lo mencioné al personal en servicio y fue... No impresionado. El cóctel de cumpleaños gratis fue un buen toque, pero solo yo me beneficié de él. El resto todavía tenía comida fría y no Presecco. No recomendaría

La comida era buena, el espacio es agradable, pero el sistema de reservas QR es exasperante. Queríamos preguntar a los servidores sobre la comida antes de ordenar, pero fue imposible. También quería pedir agua del grifo, pero no se puede hacer a través del QR, así que tuvieron que tomar un pedido en el comercio y traer el agua de todos modos. Y no quiero dar mi dirección de correo electrónico sólo para conseguir unos platos de tapas.

Nos topamos con este lugar para el desayuno, es un lugar bastante grande, así que un montón de espacio para todos, pedimos unas cuantas bebidas calientes y un desayuno cada uno, gastando alrededor de £ 40 para nosotros dos. La comida que tengo que decir era increíble! Con mucho sabor, las comidas no eran grandes o pequeñas, solo de tamaño promedio. Me decepcionó un poco que mi desayuno de todo el día tuviera mi tostada quemada escondida debajo de mis huevos, la tostada estaba completamente negra, no me gusta hacer un escándalo, pero pensé que era más bien calculado y por el precio que podrían haber rehecho mi tostada! ¡Los huevos de comida que Benedict fue el mejor que mi compañero había tenido! No me dio propina porque pensé que la persona que nos servía era bastante grosera, no tenía contacto visual, no contestaba cuando se le hablaba y parecía tirar los cafés a toda prisa, así que no había propina. Habiendo dicho que había otra chica encantadora allí que compensó a la otra chica grosera. Sin duda volvería ya que la comida era increíble! Muy caro, pero para una golosina ocasional, muy agradable!

I've been there with my laptop for work, for brunch or dinner (both large groups and smaller), or just for drinks. People are always nice, prices are reasonable. There's nothing more I could ask from this place really. There's a kids corner and there are table games as well.

Went for breakfast, fast service and quality food.

We've been coming to Alcampo lounge for breakfast for a couple of years. If anything is ever missed, it's rectified immediately and with grace. Recently we started coming to the Wednesday quiz after months of trying to find a decent one that starts around 7pm, rather than 8pm like most places. It's a nationwide pub quiz, with a great mix of rounds for all levels. Lovely atmosphere and fast paced! Leo is a great quiz master too! 😃

Cozy place! Lots to choose from on the menu and friendly staff. There is also a small selection of games if you wish. Good place to just relax and meet if you want. Took a while to get the food and maybe could have been a little cozier. Or was it great!

Great place to work from or have a family dinner with young kids. Toys and books to play with. Fast service, clean, pour your own lemon water.

Great service, we visited on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We were seated immediately (there were 6 of us) We ordered through the app, drinks came really quickly and the food came out not long after. Everything was great. I cannot fault them at all. Such a great vibe.

Great experience twice at Alcampo. We attended as a group of 15 to eat as a hen party before we went out. The staff were great, service was really fast and the staff were chatty and kind. There was something for everyone on the menu with all allergies catered for. Our lovely bride was also given a free cocktail on the house. The next morning we went back for breakfast and had really fast service again and among all 15 people we didn't have any orders go wrong and everyone was happy with all their food and drink.

Perfect place for a more relaxed unwind. Quirky decor and spacious building provides a homely atmosphere. Menu has a little bit of everything to satisfy you needs.

Great venue with brilliant decor food was excellent, great vegetarian options, lovely atmosphere staff are very friendly and polite, will be visiting again, very reasonably priced and a variety to choose from, just loved the decor all kinds of seating in stylish colours and comfort. I visited this pub to try the breakfast brunch. I found it excellent; there is also a vegan option, though it might be a bit high in calories, considering that the calorie count for each dish is listed on the menu. The place is cozy, and the staff is friendly. Orders are made and paid for exclusively via phone.

Went for group drinks. Its a huge place so really good for groups. The staff are attentive and friendly. Because it's so big it's not easy to have atmosphere, but generally most people were enjoying the night out !

Was on London rd live in area had an hour to eat before an appointment .I ordered the large brunch breakfast option and a beer all good over 20 pounds but that's OK if its nice .. my food came out with in 10 min . Wow able to cook this in 10 min ( chef must be amazing).. its all cold... I call wait staff and explain it cold even sausage cold in middle ..I asked nicely not to give me the same meal back reheated he assured me it wouldn't.. OK all good . But I wasn't convinced so I set my stop Watch now this chef must know something all us other chefs don't know within 6 min it was back infront of me .. microwaved and deep fried.. even the same 2 soft frid eggs came back to me . With a texture of a Frisbee... this cook needs to have a good think about there profession. Just give up

I come here all the time for the atmosphere and great vibes from all the staff. The pretty blonde waitress was so friendly and gave me the yummiest and prettiest mocha I've ever had. The food was also great - I recommend the chicken wings and also the noodles! The best place to eat and drink on London Road. I have been coming for a while, and it never disappoints.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, dog-friendly, plenty of seats and lots of vegan options. I had bang bang cauliflower noodles (which were amazing!) and my partner had the Lounge breakfast (non-vegan) - the bacon and the egg were cold, the other ingredients varied from warm to cold, there was no butter for the toast, it was very disappointing after waiting for half an hour for our food. I suspect they were waiting for all the food we ordered to be cooked so they can bring it all together, which meant some got cold in the process. It's a nice place so I wouldn't say stay away but maybe tell the staff to bring things as they are ready rather than wait for all part of the order to avoid eating cold food!

It's quite a large area so nice and roomy with some comfortable chairs..the food is ok a bit as one would do at home tasty and nicely presented..nice to sit outside of a summers afternoon and have drinks and nibbles....

A popular meeting place for all, lots of room and tables plus you can sit and relax. Both children and dogs are very welcome

First time eating, having walked past many times. I chose the x3 Tapas Tuesday Special hoping that it would equate to a main meal. It didn't quite, but it was excellent - and a red wine included so it was good value. Others chose Carribean curries and salads and all were well pleased with the food and service.

When I went, there was an art group painting a live model, and many young family groups, students, and people working, ie a whole variety of people using the space, which created a lively, friendly atmosphere. Food was great with generous portions and good service.

Such lovely staff came in on a Sunday with my daughter and dogs, all our drinks ended up in my lap as my dogs pulled the table, I was devastated and embarrassed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, they cleared it all up and reassured me to ease my embarrassment and also replaced our drinks. The staff here all deserve a raise because they really go above and beyond. We come here all the time but this time they particularly showed how great the service is, thank you!

Very reasonably priced in a convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Explained how to order online as well via their website. Whole process was easy and straightforward. If I’m back in the area I’ll be sure to pop back in.

This branch of the Lounge company offers the familiar menu and ambiance found in their other locations. Despite being larger than usual, making it easier to find a table, my experience was marred by a significant delay in receiving my order. After waiting 15 minutes for my burger, I discovered it was undercooked and cold in the center. The waiter promptly apologized and took it back to the kitchen, but it took another 10 minutes to receive a replacement. It seems they didn't prioritize remaking the order, resulting in a total wait time of 30 minutes from ordering to receiving my meal.

Great place, great food, really nice place to go and study for students, good vegan and vegetarian options, just wish it was a bit cheaper as many things don't seem worth the price
