Alcampo Lounge in Brighton and Hove

I love this place because it’s spacious and airy and is a great place to meet friends. It’s also dog friendly which is a massive plus. I love that you can order and pay for what you have rather than doing the whole awkward split the bill thing. I also really like the fact that you can order hot drinks until late at night which is perfect if you’re not drinking alcohol. Al campo is basically a large, aesthetically pleasing cafe which happens to have a license. I love it!

Lovely space to have a drink whilst working or socialising- I come here a lot when out and needing a place to charge devices and get something to eat. Very cosy atmosphere and dog friendly too!

I like the most here is meals. tasty and not costly. Music is too loud. Sometimes you can't hear your own voice! to be honest staff is not well (though some of them were great!) forgetting cutlery, dirty tables, etc heating is well, toilets are clean. over all, this place deserves 4 stars

I came here 3 days ago and had the cauliflower tapas . The cauliflower came with very little sauce making the meal very dry . I also sat on table 31 ( the couches ) and happened to drop something inbetween the sofa cushions . When I took the sofa cushions off to retrieve my lost item I was suprised to see millions of specs of dirt and gum and hair . Looked like the bottom couch hadn’t been cleaned for years . Apart from this , the staff were very friendly . Therefore , I’d give this place 2 stars . Update … I came back here a few days ago . Better than the last visit with the food and atmosphere , however the workers didn’t look their happiest . They looked like they were being overworked . Lounges has alot of potential and this potential could definitely be fulfilled if the workers got paid more and weren’t overworked . Shame to see .

Staff very friendly and helpful. When one accidentally spilt a drink down one of our party she was given a free drink to say sorry. Food was decent. Good options for veggies etc and plenty to choose from on the drinks menu. Plus 2 for 1 cocktails on a Saturday.

Always a solid choice. Good food. Clean, Service with a smile. A solid 4. Rumour has it that it has been bought by well know and ubiquitous pub chain - this is sad news indeed as Alcampo has been around for many years.

A Ceoliac it’’always great to find somewhere new that feels safe to eat. The person that served me was really friendly & helpful & the food was great. The room is spacious & I didn’t find it too loud.

Nice place with nice food and great service...another place that is super thoughtful about celiacs. One of those ones that gets the manager to take your order etc. Been a couple of times and will do friend meet ups here. It can be a little loud for me. The staff are really nice so I like it here also there are treats and water for our little Hugo 🐕 Note Some nights they have very loud music Which for me does not fit. Background music live background music is good. Can be enjoyable but when it goes above and beyond foreground music to the point that the speakers are sizzling with static well we cancelled eating out to taking out way too loud. Also not impressed with the burgers. I got a 20 pound burger cuz I've not eaten all day. See pictures you tell me if you think it's a 20 pound burger and tell me if you really think there's much difference between the 20 pound burger and the 15 pound burger.... definitely dropped to ok from like accept the staff are fantastic.

Affordable place for food and drink. Lots of vegan and veggie choice. Avocado toast brunch was flavourful and decent size potion. Too many children running around and thoughtless middle class parents (typical of Brighton) not stopping them when I went though. Felt sorry for the waiting staff having to dodge them.

Brighton's Alcampo Lounge on the London road is up to the group's usual standard. Food & service were good. It was very quiet when we last went (Sunday breakfast time) and the order wasn't super fast, but acceptable. Pancakes were really good.

We popped in here before going to see a concert. It was great. Service and food were really good and the menu was diverse with something appealing for all tastes. I loved that you could order using a QR code at the table. I’ll definitely be back.

Visited for the first time with my son and his partner it was amazing.

Staff don’t even acknowledge you, even when standing at the bar, two staff members actually turned their back when I walked to the bar! After ordering 2 drinks, I was told they would bring it over. I went and got one of the drinks after 10 minutes, they hadn’t even started preparing the other one. Safe to say we didn’t feel like staying for a meal as that was our experience in the first 20 mins… That’s place, just shame no one is taking any kind of leadership on the restaurant floor.

Food was good, space is nice, but the QR booking system is infuriating. We wanted to ask the servers about the food before ordering, but it was impossible. Also wanted to order tap water, but you can't do that through the QR, so they had to take an order in the trad way and bring the water over anyway. And I don't want to give my email address just to get a few plates of tapas.

Relaxed atmosphere, great selection of food and generous portions, the service of staff are friendly. All in all a great place to have a coffee or somewhere to eat in a relaxed calm atmosphere.

We stumbled across this place for breakfast, it’s quite a big place so plenty of room for everyone, we ordered a few hot drinks and a breakfast each, spending about £40 for the 2 of us. The food I have to say was amazing! Very flavoured, the meals weren’t huge or small just average sized. I was a little disappointed that my all day breakfast had my burned toast hidden underneath my eggs, the toast was completely black, I don’t like to make a fuss but thought it was rather calculated and for the price they could have re done my toast! The food eggs Benedict was the best my partner had ever had!! I didn’t give a tip because I thought the person serving us was rather rude, no eye contact at all, she didn’t answer when spoken to and seemed to dump the coffees off in a rush so no tip. Having said that there was another lovely girl there who made up for the other rude girl. I would definitely go back as the food was amazing!! Very expensive but for an occasional treat, very nice!!

I've been there with my laptop for work, for brunch or dinner (both large groups and smaller), or just for drinks. People are always nice, prices are reasonable. There's nothing more I could ask from this place really. There's a kids corner and there are table games as well.

Went for breakfast, fast service and quality food.

We've been coming to Alcampo lounge for breakfast for a couple of years. If anything is ever missed, it's rectified immediately and with grace. Recently we started coming to the Wednesday quiz after months of trying to find a decent one that starts around 7pm, rather than 8pm like most places. It's a nationwide pub quiz, with a great mix of rounds for all levels. Lovely atmosphere and fast paced! Leo is a great quiz master too! 😃

Cozy place! Lots to choose from on the menu and friendly staff. There is also a small selection of games if you wish. Good place to just relax and meet if you want. Took a while to get the food and maybe could have been a little cozier. Or was it great!

Great place to work from or have a family dinner with young kids. Toys and books to play with. Fast service, clean, pour your own lemon water.

Great service, we visited on a busy Sunday lunchtime. We were seated immediately (there were 6 of us) We ordered through the app, drinks came really quickly and the food came out not long after. Everything was great. I cannot fault them at all. Such a great vibe.

Great experience twice at Alcampo. We attended as a group of 15 to eat as a hen party before we went out. The staff were great, service was really fast and the staff were chatty and kind. There was something for everyone on the menu with all allergies catered for. Our lovely bride was also given a free cocktail on the house. The next morning we went back for breakfast and had really fast service again and among all 15 people we didn't have any orders go wrong and everyone was happy with all their food and drink.

Perfect place for a more relaxed unwind. Quirky decor and spacious building provides a homely atmosphere. Menu has a little bit of everything to satisfy you needs.

Great venue with brilliant decor food was excellent, great vegetarian options, lovely atmosphere staff are very friendly and polite, will be visiting again, very reasonably priced and a variety to choose from, just loved the decor all kinds of seating in stylish colours and comfort. Last visit 17/08/2024 and still outstanding 👏

I visited this pub to try the breakfast brunch. I found it excellent; there is also a vegan option, though it might be a bit high in calories, considering that the calorie count for each dish is listed on the menu. The place is cozy, and the staff is friendly. Orders are made and paid for exclusively via phone.

Went for group drinks. Its a huge place so really good for groups. The staff are attentive and friendly. Because it's so big it's not easy to have atmosphere, but generally most people were enjoying the night out !

Was on London rd live in area had an hour to eat before an appointment .I ordered the large brunch breakfast option and a beer all good over 20 pounds but that's OK if its nice .. my food came out with in 10 min . Wow able to cook this in 10 min ( chef must be amazing).. its all cold... I call wait staff and explain it cold even sausage cold in middle ..I asked nicely not to give me the same meal back reheated he assured me it wouldn't.. OK all good . But I wasn't convinced so I set my stop Watch now this chef must know something all us other chefs don't know within 6 min it was back infront of me .. microwaved and deep fried.. even the same 2 soft frid eggs came back to me . With a texture of a Frisbee... this cook needs to have a good think about there profession. Just give up

Sadly this visit was very disappointing! I’ve previously left good reviews! The all day breakfast was not good! Cold mushrooms, over cooked egg , hash browns and a rubbery sausage! It wasn’t busy. I really like the place and this is not usual!!!

I come here all the time for the atmosphere and great vibes from all the staff. The pretty blonde waitress was so friendly and gave me the yummiest and prettiest mocha I've ever had. The food was also great - I recommend the chicken wings and also the noodles! The best place to eat and drink on London Road. I have been coming for a while, and it never disappoints.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, dog-friendly, plenty of seats and lots of vegan options. I had bang bang cauliflower noodles (which were amazing!) and my partner had the Lounge breakfast (non-vegan) - the bacon and the egg were cold, the other ingredients varied from warm to cold, there was no butter for the toast, it was very disappointing after waiting for half an hour for our food. I suspect they were waiting for all the food we ordered to be cooked so they can bring it all together, which meant some got cold in the process. It's a nice place so I wouldn't say stay away but maybe tell the staff to bring things as they are ready rather than wait for all part of the order to avoid eating cold food!

It's quite a large area so nice and roomy with some comfortable chairs..the food is ok a bit as one would do at home tasty and nicely presented..nice to sit outside of a summers afternoon and have drinks and nibbles....

A popular meeting place for all, lots of room and tables plus you can sit and relax. Both children and dogs are very welcome

First time eating, having walked past many times. I chose the x3 Tapas Tuesday Special hoping that it would equate to a main meal. It didn't quite, but it was excellent - and a red wine included so it was good value. Others chose Carribean curries and salads and all were well pleased with the food and service.

When I went, there was an art group painting a live model, and many young family groups, students, and people working, ie a whole variety of people using the space, which created a lively, friendly atmosphere. Food was great with generous portions and good service.

Such lovely staff came in on a Sunday with my daughter and dogs, all our drinks ended up in my lap as my dogs pulled the table, I was devastated and embarrassed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, they cleared it all up and reassured me to ease my embarrassment and also replaced our drinks. The staff here all deserve a raise because they really go above and beyond. We come here all the time but this time they particularly showed how great the service is, thank you!

Very reasonably priced in a convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Explained how to order online as well via their website. Whole process was easy and straightforward. If I’m back in the area I’ll be sure to pop back in.

This branch of the Lounge company offers the familiar menu and ambiance found in their other locations. Despite being larger than usual, making it easier to find a table, my experience was marred by a significant delay in receiving my order. After waiting 15 minutes for my burger, I discovered it was undercooked and cold in the center. The waiter promptly apologized and took it back to the kitchen, but it took another 10 minutes to receive a replacement. It seems they didn't prioritize remaking the order, resulting in a total wait time of 30 minutes from ordering to receiving my meal.

Great place, great food, really nice place to go and study for students, good vegan and vegetarian options, just wish it was a bit cheaper as many things don't seem worth the price

We have visited Alcampo lounge a few times so I'm surprised to see the reviews as we have always had a positive experience. We visited Alcampo recently for breakfast and you are able to order via the app which makes things quick and hassle free, the food is always quick, hot and very tasty and the restaurants always has a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Booked the venue for a large group on a Saturday night. We come here a lot because the atmosphere is always great and I’m pleased to say that we were not disappointed. The staff are amazing and couldn’t do enough to make it a really special evening, the food was delicious hot and tasty.The cocktails are lovely. Thank you for providing outstanding service , highly recommend

Service and setting great. Lounge Eggs would have been nice if the muffin spinach and mushrooms under the eggs was hot.

Good food and some different meals to choose compared to the usual pub menu

Poor team was a little rushed off their feet at the start of the bank holiday (Thursday night) but they smiled and laughed the whole time making it a great experience for early birthday drinks. Thanks to the whole team, especially the last and gent working the bar, for looking after our group so well during a busy rush and keeping us fed and watered with some tasty food!

Lovely big bar/eatery on London Road. Family favourite, good menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go out of their way to cater for Mums and Dads of small children

I thought the quality of the food was only mediocre especially seeing as it was reasonably expensive. If anything the serving was rather small ,I had the buttered chicken with fries. It was virtually the only thing available that didn't include rice. Just enough food for a small child. It did however have a nice atmosphere , their table service was non-existent , order and pay on an app. when the waiter did turn up with the food I couldn't understand what he was saying. .... He was hurried and speaking over us rather than to us. Having said all of that, I would try again and maybe try different item off the menu. 😁

I just think what let's them down is in the quality of the food. I ordered the tuna melt sandwich and it came looking kinda sorry for itself. It would have been better with more fillings, bolder flavours and better bread. 🥪

Awful experience. Took 3 attempts to make chips with cheese one of them had a pubic hair in the cheese and the rest jus tasted burnt and undercooked at the same time which is totally baffling to me would never go back

Visited the 'Alcampo Lounge' a couple of weeks ago with the family. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the ELABORATE array of various decorations of numerous quirky fashions. However the restaurant seemed to be lacking in atmos regarding its guests - it was DEAD A DODO..? Despite this ... Service was speedy and exceeded expectations, with friendly staff going ABOVE AND BEYOND, albeit a few minor mishaps here and there. Our table was decorated with inviting red candles, which was a nice touch. (We booked - although it really wasn't necessary).The food was above par - deliciously succulent burger accompanied by SCRUMMY fries, the best I've eaten ... in a while. HOWEVER, much to my disgust, upon further inspection, I noticed that the burger was medium-rare - NOT TO MY TASTE. No wonder it came out so quickly... They must've showed it the oven and decided it was cooked...! But, by the time I had spotted it, I had already devoured over half of the blasted thing. This had disastrous affects on my guts later on, it played HAVOC with my IBS. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my main course and moved swiftly on (but not as swiftly as my bowel movements) to the dessert menu. I ordered an ice cream sundae which was DELECTABLE. My companions ordered the 'chorros'.. BUT to my astonishment they only gave us ONE...!? As if they could fluff our experience up any more ...? Upon confrontation, they confessed they had RAN OUT OF THE CHORROS, tight fiends...?! They took the money and ran..! Conniving scoundrels ... Luckily they reconciled their sketchy error by offering us a dessert on the house. Thanks Alcampo..! 😃👍 I should think so too, we paid for it ...? Despite all hiccups, lovely experience, would consider gracing the staff with my presence in the near future ... 🤔 P.S... spectacular bogs ..! I should know I spent a good chunk of my evening in there. 😃👍

Used to go here all the time and have always enjoyed it. However went yesterday and waited an hour for food (after being told the food would take half an hour) and it one of the items was lukewarm. We had a 6 year old with us so it wasn't ideal. The staff looked like they were working really hard, so obviously the manager needs to employ more.

Luke warm food , fried egg not cooked properly, tea had a strange aftertaste. Chips were hot and tasty , staff welcoming and helpful, decor a little gloomy . Just a shame about the food so wouldn’t return.

One of a good few "Lounges" up and down the country (we have Albero Lounge in our native Bedford), we knew we could get the same level of attentive service and gluten free guaranteed, and we were exactly right ✅️ The tapas cones highly recommended, especially the chicken wings!

I eat in Brighton every month with work, and this has been my favourite eatery in over a year of visits Staff were decent, friendly and prompt service. I had the beef brisket chilli. I don't say this often, but I would eat it again, straight away, if I had the room. I haven't eaten out that good for years. I'm no food snob, I love a weatherspoons like anyone, but this is decent food at a great price. I will try to get my work colleagues to this place on every visit Thank you!

Been to one of their sister sites in Epsom and this one is just as nice. Staff were lovely, food was tasty and we were served quickly. There were some rowdy kids in there (parents letting them run riot) and the staff dealt with the situation well (without prompting) Sold out of Coke Zero but these things happen. Will return, thank you

Staff are great, very good and fast service. Good quality food, but did find a long black hair in my food, but they sorted it out quickly and offered me a refund along with a portion of chips.

Chouette lieu avec une riche carte végane et végétarien. Prix abordable et la nourriture et très bonne. Nous avons pris 3 tapas avec des mac n cheese et des frites de patate douce en side. Nous avons eu pour 22€ environ, et nous nous sommes régalés. L’ambiance est très chaleureuse, il y a même des jeux de société.
