The young woman of Asian decent putting my drink under the tap, realized it can't be lifted herself but when I asked her could you please get it out of that spot and hand it to me as I don't want to come into their space, she said to me get it yourself and left. Get a new job! To the young guy that acknowledged the unprofessional behaviour behind the bar by his colleague. Rock on. To the Bulgarian doorman. Rock on! Kalo bradi!

Big Sunday roast, great taste. Didn't need to ask for extra gravy which is a first. Extremely salty Yorkshire pudding which I'd say 9/10 ppl would call out as bad but I liked it. Service was a bit meh, stood to wait by the bar then another older man came in after and got served before us. I guess we all live in a man's world. The vegetarian Wellington was ok but wanted more mushrooms and less pumpkin because it was like eating the trimmings x2. Same same. I like a meaty alternative. Impossible to find in the world of Roasts. Hmm. But yeah overall lovely, the guy with the knee brace was a nice lad .

This feels and looks like a traditional English pub. If this is what you want to experience, it is well worth visiting. Personally, I feel that charging £7.15 for a pint is excessive, but I understand that this is probably outside of the control of the landlord/lady. Nevertheless, the pint I had was very nice. I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on it Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend that visitors come here to enjoy the ambience and look of the place.

Claims to be the oldest pub in Brighton, which is in the South lanes area. Inside it's cosy and unique with old fashioned styling, definitely worth a look, load's of outside seating (too cold for us to sit outside). Inside there is a bar with a dining area round the back of the bar, which looked spacious. The ale I had was okay! So the question is would I go back probably not.

Really poor from this place. We went to Brighton for the day with our dog and bay daughter. Googled dog friendly pubs for lunch, found The Cricketers, we called to check availability as it said no same day booking on their website, we were told there was loads of space and to head down (about 1 mile away, walking). On arrival we asked if we could have lunch we were told to find ourselves a table that didn't have reserved on it. We managed to find one table at the back with an empty pint glass and no sign saying reserved. Just as we're were about to sit down we were told it is actually reserved and we couldn't sit there. No offer of help was made we're were just left standing there with out dog and baby in the middle of other groups eating, pretty embarrassing and frustrating to be frank. We just walked out in the end as no one offered us any sort of help or other option. Why tell us to head over, find a table with no reservation notice and then tell us we can't use it and leave us stood there like idiots. Pretty muggy way to treat people.

Relentless consistency is my feelings about the Cricketers, from the cheery and fast service, the band in the courtyard room, even the folk that poke themselves into the hideaway corners of the place whilst every space is full of revellers. I have been dropping into the cricketers over the last twenty years with often five years or more In-between. Each time I feel the same way I did the first time in my twenties. It's a timeless pub for all ages.

We popped in for a drink and my partner asked for a Bloody Mary. A good ten minutes later we finally were served a very poor excuse for a Bloody Mary. No Tabasco, no Worcester sauce, no celery, no celery salt, nothing. Just basically vodka and tomato juice and no seasoning or garnish. The bar person didn’t seem to care at all and charged £11.75 for the pleasure! £11.75 for a vodka and tomato juice. Absolutely scandalous. Avoid this at all costs!

It’s my first time visiting The Cricketers since it was refurbished. Personally, I like the old look, there’s character… Although, the new look is modern and spacious. The service is great! It’s quite expensive. We ordered an orange juice, ginger beer, cider and beer; tortilla chips and burgers. There should be an option for the tortilla dip aside from Hummus. Because my friend didn’t really enjoyed the hummus in the end. I’m not a fan of the music selection. I heard that Sunday roast is really good. We will be back for that.

Especially love the band "Empire" with Gemma Carre at the helm. ❤️ Only criticism is when having a drink in bar area and live music is on, they have different music coming out of the speakers... why not link the two (but obviously on a lower level in the bar area)? Apart from that small point, a great place! Haven't tried the food, but looks good! Another small point - it's haunted!

Oh, The Cricketers pub in Brighton England - what a place! This historic gem has been around since 1547, so you know it's gotta be good. And let me tell you, it doesn't disappoint! First off, let's talk about the atmosphere. The Cricketers pub is like stepping back in time, with its old-school charm and cozy vibes. The low ceilings, wooden beams, and vintage decor make you feel like you're in a Harry Potter movie (in a good way, of course). And the staff? They're like your favorite Hogwarts professors, but with better accents. But let's not forget about the most important part - the drinks! The Cricketers pub has an impressive selection of beers, ales, and ciders to choose from. Whether you're a fan of something light and fruity or dark and hoppy, they've got you covered. And don't even get me started on the cocktails - they're like magic potions that transport you to a whole new level of happiness. But what's a good drink without some delicious food to go with it? The Cricketers pub has you covered there too. From classic pub grub like fish and chips and bangers and mash to more gourmet options like roasted pork belly and duck breast, there's something for everyone. And let's not forget about the desserts - the sticky toffee pudding is to die for! Overall, The Cricketers pub is a must-visit for anyone looking for a bit of old-school charm and delicious drinks and food. It's like a time machine that takes you back to the 16th century, but with better drinks and food. So grab your friends, your family, or your favorite Hogwarts professor and head on over to the Cricketers pub. You won't be disappointed!
