So expensive! £5.25 for half a Moretti! Central Brighton but still crazy prices. Looking at other reviews, it appears they vary prices depending on who serves you!

Booked for a birthday, 6 of us. Able to take a cake which they stored for us. One of the most helpful and polite managers I have ever met, nothing was too much trouble. Staff were amazing. We all had food which was of a very good quality and it was hot. Service was quick and efficient. When it was time for the cake they provided plates, serviettes and a knife without hesitation. Definitely go again. Thank you for the experience.

Two pints of IPA £15 was a bit steep in price I thought. We ate here on a Sunday, the roast dinners looked amazing and the pub was packed out. I had fish and chips, the peas were cold, my husband had a chicken burger and that was fine. We called back for drinks on the Monday and sat in the sun trap outside.

What a cool place! We walked around the Lanes for about an hour and was just looking for a traditional pub to sit down, relax, and have a beer. She ordered a Fullers and I had a Strongbow on their daytime special for about £6. They played some great 80s tunes also. Overall, a really cool place with a ton of history.

Sadly our experience was a tad poor, really wanted to love it, beautiful traditional pub, definitely vibing busy but the Lager was a let down and we waited 45mins for Tatter Tots, Scampi and a Salad which unfortunately were not worth the wait, I understand it's high season but standards should remain the same all the time. Sorry for the negative review

Went yesterday with our little dog.It was too hot outside as the tables with brollies were taken, so we moved into the court yard, which was perfect as the doors were open, and it was cool and airy . I had a cheese burger with fries, and my partner had pork skewer starter with teriyaki sauce and mini hash browns a lager and a couple of glasess of wine .It was all delicious and will definitely go back . One small point is that they're a bit frugal with their mayonnaise and tomato sauces that come in tiny pots . But we still had really lovely lunch, and it's such a pretty pub .

We waited a considerable time to be served by the one bar person available. Quite possibly the worst two pints (Neck Oil & Moretti), both flat and acidic in taste, that have ever encountered. Many other customers seemed to have similar complaints. A place to avoid.

Didn't have food so can't judge. Lovely bar and atmosphere. Drinks a little pricey however, a good glass of vino I'd always going to cost more! The reason for my lower score was based on the ladies toilets. There was no toilet roll in either and I had to get the dregs out of the bottle of soap to wash my hands. Yes, I know it was almost closing time but I was still a paying customer so require the basic whe going to the toilet.

The booking process was simple and quick and it was definitely great value. I would 100% recommend it and will be booking it again if we ever need another party venue. We got the whole of the upstairs which was 3 rooms, private bar and toilets. Service was a bit meh, stood to wait by the bar then another older man came in after and got served before us. I guess we all live in a man's world. This feels and looks like a traditional English pub. If this is what you want to experience, it is well worth visiting. Personally, I feel that charging £7.15 for a pint is excessive, but I understand that this is probably outside of the control of the landlord/lady. Nevertheless, the pint I had was very nice. Nice pub, good atmosphere, but watch out for how much you pay for drinks, we were charged differently for the same round of drinks e.g. one round cost £11.70 (single raspberry vodka with Diet Coke & 1 pint Amstel) 2nd round £10.25 (for a double raspberry vodka & Diet Coke & 1 pint Amstel), the 3rd round (same drinks as the 2nd round) £18+. Pubs should have prices displayed (like they used to), so patrons know what they should be paying. The last round I queried it & they tried to advise me they undercharged on the 2nd round. How am I meant to know what price I should be charged 🤷‍♂️

Really poor from this place. We went to Brighton for the day with our dog and bay daughter. Googled dog friendly pubs for lunch, found The Cricketers, we called to check availability as it said no same day booking on their website, we were told there was loads of space and to head down (about 1 mile away, walking). On arrival we asked if we could have lunch we were told to find ourselves a table that didn't have reserved on it. We managed to find one table at the back with an empty pint glass and no sign saying reserved. Just as we're were about to sit down we were told it is actually reserved and we couldn't sit there. No offer of help was made we're were just left standing there with out dog and baby in the middle of other groups eating, pretty embarrassing and frustrating to be frank. We just walked out in the end as no one offered us any sort of help or other option. Why tell us to head over, find a table with no reservation notice and then tell us we can't use it and leave us stood there like idiots. Pretty muggy way to treat people.

Appalling customer service. A group of us booked for here for dinner on a Monday evening and paid a deposit per head for the booking. When we arrived they told us "the kitchen was closed" and "there's nothing they could do". Obviously, they completely ignored the fact they had our booking and decided to shut earlier - what an unprofessional establishment. There was no apology, no offer of compensation and no offer of refund for our booking fee - outrageous. These sort of places give the industry a bad name.

Food was good, space is nice, but the QR booking system is infuriating. We wanted to ask the servers about the food before ordering, but it was impossible. Also wanted to order tap water, but you can't do that through the QR, so they had to take an order in the trad way and bring the water over anyway. And I don't want to give my email address just to get a few plates of tapas.

We went to visit today and was there 10 minutes before so the staff saw us waiting and told us they would come and let us in at 12. Still nobody came out at 12:08 so we went inside and it was just the staff playing heavy metal music and standing around chatting. So we left. We also noticed around 15 people came and left in the mean time so a lot of lost customers.
