The best restaurants serving British food in Bracknell Forest South East

Arrived almost 2 hours before a show and were told we could not order any food before 7 pm unless we had reserved a table. Fair enough, we hadn’t. But when I then went up to the bar at 7 pm I was told that, actually, I still couldn’t order anything because they were quite busy. I simply love a dining establishment that makes you feel like an inconvenience for wanting to, you know, eat.

Place was clean and very welcoming. Booked for my sons birthday he's 9. Paul was especially fantastic, great teacher and very patient with the young ones learning. He was calm in situations and made sure the boys knew what they were doing to keep them safe. Thank you so much Paul (Bob) for the awesome time the boys absolutely loved the experience and can't wait to come back. Paul is a great asset to your team and should be awarded for his professionalism.

Restaurant smells old. Service was really slow. Food was bad, but we were so tired it was eat or go hungry before sleeping in the Premier Inn. Car Park had many signs warning of Car Thieves Operate in this Area and Police Hotspot etc, I was genuinely a little nervous parking my car there.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere. Management great and staff very friendly. I would thoroughly recommend it to all, families are always welcome and the garden is great when we have sun!

Sunday roast for a birthday, from walking in the door to leaving we were given a very personable experience we were seated quickly and ordered drinks then left to choose food and a great recommendation on the food. We brought a birthday cake with us and they brought us plates napkins and a knife. The dining room was airy with a lovely sitting and could see the cows outside. I’m looking forward to coming back thank you for such wonderful service. Dare I say best roast I’ve had in a while!

Roast stuffed belly pork 😋 amazing roast beef also absolutely beautiful. Generous portions and so yummy. The staff are so lovely. Highly recommended 👌

We popped in for lunch. Very traditional cosy old village pub. Comfortable seating and a large log fire. Good choice of beers. Food was very good and portions were large. Friendly landlord and good service. It was a nice place to catch up with old friends and have a good meal and a few drinks.

We regularly visit the Running Horse on Friday lunchtime as we very much enjoy their buy one get one free offer on burgers. Our favourite is the Korean BBQ chicken burger which we had again this time. It was delicious and generous. Our compliments to the chef and to our regular waiter James who as always was friendly and efficient.

This was such a disappointment. We visited friends again and returned for Sunday lunch. Wow what a meal, no words can describe the plate of food which was swimming in watery "gravy" or the tasteless, soggy ingredients. Never again!

Poor poor service. We had to wait at least 45 minutes for a light snack. We were forgotten and had to ask where our food was.

Had Sunday lunch for my sons birthday but I thought the service was a bit slow and when I asked if they did bottles of coke one waitress said yes but when I was ordering drinks the other waitress said we don’t do bottles of coke which I thought was odd for a pub. Cut a long story short after I ordered a different drink I was then told they had them. The nut roast wasn’t good nor the pork loin I had but everyone else enjoyed their food apparently the beef was lovely. In hind sight I should have taken the service charge off the bill but I didn’t.

The opening hours of this cafe are so random. It seems ridiculous to me that they often close at 3pm, which was the case today. Is it a shortage of people? Can’t rely on them, plus the service can be very slow.

Really disappointed. Food expensive foe what it was. The house special of fish n chips, was nothing special. Whilst fish itself was good, the batter wasn't particularly crispy and size wasn't big as you'd expect. Bright lights, no candles, furniture bit dated. Staff were lovely and helpful though and after several attempts to adjust the lighting,it didn't make any difference! Dessert was limited, badic 3 choices for ice cream, and it wasn't anything tasty, bland vanilla!

Came here from supper on the way home from seeing family and friends. The food was excellent and the service was brilliant. My only criticism, which is what deserved two stars is that there wasn’t the facility for ordering from one’s table, for while I am fully mobile, I have an old and dear friend who uses a wheelchair, and she would need to be able to order from the table.

It's like the KFC chicken of old! Love this chippy, best chips I've eaten, and they are lovely in the shop. We eat here once a week! firm family favourite.
