Car park a bit hard to miss but lots of space behind the restaurant once you spot the turning. Lovely old pub room leading into a well presented modern dining area. Food was excellent. High quality at decent value. Even the children’s meals came out looking great. Service exceptional. A real credit to the establishment. Very attentive and made good recommendations. Very patient with the younger diners. We will be back when in the area again

This place is just perfect. Visited today with my parents and we had a lovely lunch in the beautiful garden. We had a Brie starter which was amazing and a pate starter - my parents said this was incredibly nice. For mains my parents had a salmon and prawn salad which was huge and they both advised it was super tasty. I had a chicken mayo baguette- also delicious. Due to the heat we had ice creams for pudding and washed everything down with a lovely Sauvignon blanc. What really makes this place special is the lovely staff, in particular the very hardworking waitress who was run off her feet today in extreme heat but was so friendly, helpful and attentive. Highly recommend!

I visited with my friend on 28 December, after a trip to the cinema in Bracknell. We chose it on the spur of the moment, as it seemed to get good reviews and was open for an early dinner - we arrived ravenous at just before 6 pm. The staff were very welcoming and we were shown to a comfortable, corner table in the cosy restaurant. The menu was traditional British favourites. We both had the roast lamb with mint and rosemary gravy. It was delicious, as were the potatoes and vegetables that came with it. Afterwards we shared a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. My friend would have preferred more caramel sauce, but I was very pleased with it. We thought the food was very reasonably priced and the service excellent. If you are looking a reasonably priced and tasty dinner in a friendly, country pub, I would highly recommend this place.

My wife and I often pop in for dinner. From the Phil and his team to the food everything is fantastic. The food is good home Meade British food, great selection of specials and reliably consistently high standard. The beer is great and the locals are all very friendly. Don’t be put off by the number of people in the bar, it is very popular BUT, has a large restaurant to the side, just beyond the bar area. A huge garden which is great for the family, we always take our dog Elvis, and he’s made very welcome. Highly recommend the Shepherds pie, since the first time I ordered it I find it hard to have anything else. Although last week there was Skate wing on the specials cooked in caper butter, amazing and fresh.

Absolutely wonderful roast today! Booked the day before for a party of five, including a three year old. On arrival, they went to the trouble of specially making the little one in our group a strawberry Nesquik after it’s what she said she wanted to drink - a lovely touch. The service was excellent… attentive and accurate, but without being overly hovering and annoying. The roast beef was nothing short of excellent, and the portions generous too. Booked with friends. We arrived to a couple of benches in the garden which needed a wipe down and lots of broken toys with a mound of soil (or something!) at the end of the garden (of which a child from another family found a dead animal!!) MORTIFIED !! The toys could have been good but they were dirty (filthy!) and broken. The weather was very hot in June and we wanted to sit outside. Toilets were clean! Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was nice but I’d say over priced. It wasn’t very busy apart from a couple of locals sat at the bar and 2 families and some lads in the garden. I booked for a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 children, for Sunday linch. When booking, I asked if they could provide a gluten free roast and was told that, apart from the Yorkshire pudding which I would not be able to have this would be okay. However my roast arrived with a Yorkshire pudding, which looked exactly the same as the others in my group. I checked with the waitress that it was GF and was assured that it was. I am still not convinced though. We had to wait over half an hour for our desserts. I ordered Eton Mess because it was the only dessert they had which was GF. However, when this arrived it included a wafer biscuit which I know was definitely not GF. I asked the waitress for a fresh dessert as it was possible that the biscuit had contaminated the dessert. The children had roast chicken and one of the servings had chicken so tough it could not be cut, so it was left. I told the waitress about this but just got a muffled apology. No tip was given because I did not think it was deserved. Certainly I will not be rushing back.

Sadly our first visit here showed a lack of care or effort to look after their customers. We visited with family on my Mum's 60th birthday, who is a vegetarian so when booking we enquired whether there was a vegetarian option on Sunday which we were told there was. Unfortunately when we came to order,Mum was informed the only vegetarian option on the menu was not available - and we sat down at 12.30 so not even late in the shift. We would have hoped for an apology directly from the manager or chef and an offer of a tasty alternative especially made, the waitress could see how upset my mum was (the family had travelled from around the country so we had put our trust in the restaurant to give us a good meeting place). However the waitress came back from the kitchen to offer a plate of vegetables as a meal. On a second trip back (still no appearance from manager or chef) she offered a vegetable lasagne, presumualby from the freezer. And at the end of the meal there was no offer of compensation,we were still billed for mum's meal and no further apology was given.Had I owned this business I would make more of an effort to look after guests, particularly when making such an error. Sadly none of us will return and we will not recommend to friends.

The food arrived hot and well presented but there was a minimal portion of vegetables and no option for any more which was rather a surprise so although well cooked, we would like to have seen more than a "token" to accompany a good serving of beef and chicken. The puddings were home made but we were disappointed in the rather over-done brownie which was crisp rather than gooey, excellent sticky toffee though! We recently went to the White Hart for a family Sunday Lunch. The pub is in a lovely old building full of character. We sat in the bar area where they had made up a table. The Sunday Roast was tasty and well cooked. Vegetables were not over cooked and the meat was plentiful and tender. We also had desserts which were good quality. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We went as a party of 3 today for Sunday lunch. The service needs more attention to detail. We ordered an orange squash but received an orange juice. This was promptly remedied, however at the end they still charged us for the wrong (3x more expensive) drink which again I had to point out to them to rectify. The Sunday roast options were not clearly explained to us by our first server. We ordered two lamb and one pork dish since these were described by our server the Sunday roast options. These were shown in the menu as "Selection of Roasts" and priced at £10.95. When the bill arrived later, it turned out that the lamb was not a "Selection of Roasts" option but a lamb shoulder dish on the main menu priced at £15.95 each. I didn't want to nit pick over a tenner however I was somewhat put out by the blase attitude of a second server when I pointed this out. She clearly couldn't care less that our bill was £10 higher than we expected. Regarding the food itself, the roast pork was great. It was accompanied by a good selection of veg, roasted potatoes and a nice Yorkshire pud. The lamb shoulder however was a big lump of meat on a bone. This was somewhat fatty and also the reheating process didn't really do it many favours. Never-the-less my wife and son ate as much of it as they could. Overall, and in summary, the food we had here was a mixed bag. I wouldn't order the lamb again as it was too fatty and didn't reheat well. Our servers were disappointing; one didn't know the menu very well and the other didn't care when we described our grievance. My advice? Pay attention to your bill and make sure you are being charged for what you ordered.

I have nothing bad day about this lovely establishment. The staff are lovely, very attentive and polite, the young girl offered us roast pork which wasn't on, on the day but that is nothing major, if I can remember we all had the beef which was tender, cooked just perfect and tasted delicious. They made the special occasion even better. Will go back as soon as I have the chance.

My boyfriend and I decided to stop here for lunch on Monday afternoon. We chose to sit in the bar area rather than the restaurant. We had a cosy sofa next to the fire place. I ordered a baguette which came with chips and he had ham,egg and chips. Both with cokes. The food was nice and came out very quickly. It was just over £22 which I felt was a little steep for a lunch in a pub.

Lovely little pub with very reasonable prices. If you're looking for an atmosphere with younger crowd then this isn't for you. However the staff are lovely and it's a beautiful place. The food was lovely and Chef was so friendly and chatty which was definitely an excellent thing to do when he came out and chatted to us.I would highly recommend and had a great night!

Cosy with beams and open fire, friendly greeting, good bar selection, wines, beers and bar nibbles. Nice restaurant good wholesome food and value for money. On a bend so be careful exiting if you park at the rear, don't let that put you off----. Try the White Hart for good old fashioned pub atmosphere.

Have visited here many times but never written a review before. This is a traditional village pub with no fruit machines or loud music. The building itself is an old court house going back hundreds of years, and yes there are a few ghosts!!! Typically old with low beams, rustic flooring, log fires etc etc. They have a great selection of hand pulled cask ales always kept in perfect condition, served by knowledgeable and very friendly staff. The restaurant is equally as quaint with a narrow open entrance connecting it to the main bar area. This ensures that the restaurant becomes a quiet place to enjoy a varied selection of good home cooked meals served by very attentive staff. This is not creative Michelin star fare but what is on offer is delicious, very well presented and perfectly cooked and in keeping with the price, which varies between £9 - £14 for a main. The sweets are around £6 and are wonderful. Ample parking is provided and in the summer there is a lovely garden complete with children's toys. You can also dine in the garden with weather permitting. In summary, this is my favourite country pub and it's well worth a try if you live in the area or just passing through.

We often go there on a Friday evening for fish and chips for just £6 each. Amazing value when you sit in the restaurant with linen tablecloth, personal and friendly service and never noisy. The bar area is normally quite busy, often log fire when cold. Nice garden area to enjoy in the summer. Would really recommend

A beautiful pub with friendly staff and delicious home cooked Roast! My only criticism is that the portion size was actually too large and I heard another table say the same. A table of 8, all very happy with the whole experience, we will definitely be back!

£6 for fish, chips and mushy peas on a Friday. Awesome. The fish is frozen, not fresh, but it was delicious and at £6 was great value. Went last Friday evening and the place was packed, Hardly a table to be had. Guess they make up for the loss leader with all the drinks in the bar.Friendly enough staff and definitely worth a visit.

Very friendly hosts. Food cooked to order. Five star food hygiene rating. On entering, the pub seemed very clean and welcoming. The food was good quality with ample portions and provided good value for money. There is a range of food on offer. The Doombar is very well kept and there is a good wine selection, again reasonably priced. They also have a special fish and chips night on a Friday for £6. Would definitely visit here again if in the area.

This is an excellent old fashioned pub in a lovely village setting. The staff are very friendly & service is excellent. Prices are average. My only small niggle is perhaps that the menu could be a little more varied, but what's on there is delicious!

A lovely country pub easily accessible with a large car park at the rear. The pub maintains its historic feel despite a recent refurbishment. The food is freshly prepared and served in either the bar or restaurant. This is a good pub for a group celebration or a quiet meal for two and Jean and Phil are accommodating of most requests. A pretty garden at the rear with tables and gazebos for shade.

If we lived in this area we would make this our local. As it was we were nearby for a one-off visit so called in for Sunday lunch. The bar area is very cosy, but we ate in the restaurant, which is a bit more formal (linen tablecloths etc) but very attractive. We had booked but it wasn't busy. Friendly, attentive waitresses and very good food. My wife had the slow-cooked lamb roast, I had herb-crusted baked salmon which came with a wonderful jus. Both came with perfectly steamed vegetables (plus roast potatoes and parsnips with the roast meat).

This was our first visit to The White Hart. We weren't greeted in a welcoming way when we entered hte pub. However this changed when we walked through to the restaurant area where we were met by a friendly waitresss. The restaurant has been refurbished to a high standard and was very comfortable. The pub itself is full of character with a good outside space which I'm sure woud be lovely in summer. Children are well catered for.Their website claims 'We know you like your food fresh, tasty and varied.'We do. It isn't. Small tasteless watery frozen prawns served as a starter for £9.95. Fresh and tasty? Again with the main courses, served with what appeared to be frozen vegetables. The saute and chipped potatoes were again tastless. The herb crust on our salmon had a few specks of green in it and the white wine sauce wasn't served at all.We enjoyed the wine we drank with our meal. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food particularly as it falls into the midrange price bracket. We wont be eating there again.
