The Wellington Arms is a beautiful venue with a wonderful rustic feel. All the staff are warm and welcoming. The vibes were great. Beautiful pub garden. Food 10/10 Venue 10/10 Value 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Customer Service 10/10 All the little details and personal touches we were able to add made the day so perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I wanted for our day. Thanks again to everyone at The Wellington Arms

It is a nice setting, ok for adults who aren’t after extensive choice other than fry up options really -which are nice enough. But it is not set up for young children, no menu variation to accommodate youngsters in general really, definitely nothing for breakfasts. I asked for 1 slice of toast just to provide something for a 2 year old. It was luke warm and ‘soggy’, it came with 2 butter packs and a cheap jam portion…. And to top it off, it cost £4.20!!! The croissant incidentally, I ordered, came as two mini (approximately 5cms each in length) bite size croissants for £2.60, makes Starbucks and costa look very reasonably priced. When I queried I had been charged for two slices, I was told that that was the only option on the till… might have been a good idea to share that when I ordered! Why are they still only taking cash? 🤔 Pleasant staff, didn’t have to wait long for service but didn’t come away thinking the food/options were as good as other local places ☹️ Sorry to be negative, but when you head out as a family and pay for numerous people, you need to know everyone is going to be accommodated. PS : bin the ridiculous high chair seats and get proper ones .

From the welcome to the end of our stay it was simply perfect. Great hospitality, the rooms were superbly fitted out and very comfortable, especially the bed. Great adjoining pub and in a beautiful, quintessential English countryside setting. 5 stars.

Great meal with great service but felt staff could have been increased. But they were great and fun!!!! Breakfast was busy but only Alisia - hope that is correct - on and as she only had a short night from a late finish, very unfair. Hotel a little tired but as clean as the staff can do.

Last Sunday I brought my two children in for dinner and as soon as we got there we were warmly welcomed by a lovely waitress, we were asked if we would like water and had it brought straight to us. Service was outstanding, the waitress and waiter were very attentive, the food portions were brilliant as well as the food. Overall amazing food and customer service, will definitely be visiting again.

I am very surprised by the good reviews. This was the worst pub restaurant we have ever been to. I phoned the day before to check that they were dog friendly. I was assured that they were dog friendly, and I had read some reviews saying that dogs were welcome. We have two very small very well behaved dogs. When we arrived we were met with an elderly man who was extremely rude and grumpy. His first words were that we must not allow the dogs on the furniture or in the garden. He made us feel extremely unwelcome and very uncomfortable. We had a dog pram for the dogs so it was obvious that we were considerate dog owners. We were considering leaving, but we had all travelled quite a distance and didn't know of anywhere else locally. The furniture was old uncomfortable and tatty. The garden was a muddy hole with two swings. I asked if I could have chunky chips with my sandwich and I was told it comes with small fries and if I wanted chunky chips I would only get 3 chips! Surely working in hospitality, this is not the way to treat customers. Perhaps he should have suggested that I could order a side order of chips... when our food arrived the waiter spilled coke over one of the plates. He did not even apologise or offer to replace the meal. The food was ok, nothing special. No one asked if everything was ok, or if we wanted anything else. We were just left alone. It is also very overpriced. For 3 small lunches, 2 glasses of coke and a small bottle of water, we were charged over £60. I wish I had been told they were not dog friendly when I phoned. This was very unfair and ruined a special day for us.
