We went on a surprisingly quiet Sunday afternoon and sat in the garden , I ordered at the bar a starter of scotch egg and 2 roast beef , scotch egg came in about 10 - 15 minutes and was ok but at £10.25 a tad expensive. I had to ask for cutlery and napkins , around us on 1 table was a table of glasses and a table with 2 empty plates with nobody sat there . We waited 25-30 minutes for starter to be cleared but I ended up taking it in and gave the staff who were gathered by the bar a little nudge that we were outside and had they forgotten us ?? Another 15 minutes past and the dinners came which were quite tasty and plentiful, again had to ask for cutlery, still tables were left dirty around us and we had no check back at all . All in all poor service on a quiet shift , hence no tip , maybe it was a bad day at the office which we all have from time to time.

We stopped off at The Rufford Arms on the A59 just south of Preston on way from Cairnryan ferry to Stafford motorcycle show on Friday for lunch. The rest of the gang were so impressed with the quality of both the food and the staff that we stopped for dinner on the way back . Any of the Fish dishes is highly recommended, as was the Sunday roast. There was so much motorcycle talk over dinner that we talked ourselves into staying for breakfast, which again surpassed our expectations , after all, a cosy bed and a shower beats the campervan any day ! ! ! Absolutely amazing place! We were some friends in Manchester to watch the football and stopped by Brunswick and decided to get some breakfast. 3 of my friends chose the traditional "English breakfast" I myself chose "steak and eggs" it was so delicious! It was so delicious that we came back the next day for more food. This time 2 x "English breakfast" 1 x "chicken waffle" and 1 x "steak and eggs" again the food was top notch. The meat was cooked to perfection medium rare, the eggs and tomatoes had great flavor. The only small finger to put on our 2 food experiences at Brunswick was that the second time we were there they forgot "Heinz beans" at the one "English breakfast", but it was quickly fixed! Will definitely be back when I hit Manchester again! Thanks for the food.

Great little restaurant. Super food and wine, friendly service to us and our dog! Our only challenge was that the portion sizes were very generous for us, but we took the remainder home to enjoy again. Would thoroughly recommend. Lots of GF options too.
