Just driving through Rufford and decided to stop at the restaurant for lunch. Extremely good meal, staff very professional and friendly, food was delicious. Lovely atmosphere

First time at this restaurant and won't be our last. Service was excellent, lovely, friendly, yet professional staff. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My only downside was my main was only warm. I like my food served piping hot and the yorkshire pudding was slightly over cooked. But apart from that I'd recommend giving this a try. Lovely outside seating area. They do lunches so will be giving them a try soon

My wife and I have visited this resteraunt frequently over the last couple of years. Although not really recognised, The Rufford Arms has to be one of the best resteraunts in Lancashire. The staff are very attentive without being intrusive. The food is professionally served and, in nearly all cases, delicious and well presented. well, if there wasn't an odd occasion where the meal did not receive top marks, it's few and far between. Well done and we look forward to our next visit.

Stayed for a family wedding. The reception room was fabulous and well maintained. The food was excellent, they catered to my dietary needs effortlessly. The room was comfy and well laid out, made for a great sleep. The staff left us wanting for nothing, everything was taken care of for us. Highly recommended.

Nice and relaxed place with great staff and food. Rooms were clean and cosy. Nice place to stay if in the area. Breakfast is generous and staff were accommodating.

Very clean room. We were visiting friends so only using as a b&b. We had a drink in the bar reasonably priced. The choice of breakfast was good and staff attentive. However my sausages and bacon were undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked longer and they did so but it meant my husband had finished his by the time I got mine back. It wasn't very busy so something as simple as cooked meat shouldn't have really been an issue for the kitchen. Overall nice hotel poor breakfast for 14.95.

Pop in just on the off chance for lunch and as usual they were very accommodating. I had Black pudding fritters with Lancashire cheese to start (no photo as I forgot).Followed by Steak and salad as didn't want the fries, Dad had Salmon followed by Rum and Raisin ice-cream and John had Chicken pie chips and veg followed by Belgium chocolate Truffle cake with ice-cream. We all enjoyed are meals and the staff were very helpful and polite 😀

We’ve been here numerous times and are never disappointed, never had a bad meal here. The food is varied, very well presented and delicious. The staff are attentive and professional. Highly recommended.

It was our first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and furnished. We received a warm welcome and a choice of tables despite the restaurant being busy. The four of us had lots of choice on the menu. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

A first class place ...well run and excellent staff. We had a warm and efficient welcome from Ben, we selected our meal and were delighted with the standard, and choices on the menu. We really enjoyed our meal. Katie looked after us very well and all the staff are an asset to the place. We will look forward to to our next visit and cannot recomend highly enough.

My wife and I fealt as if we were on a first date last night after lockdown. We were treated to fabulous food fantastic ambience and beautiful new structurring and decor. Without doubt our favourite place to eat and be pampered. Thanks Sue and your friendly staff.

My wife and I called in for early evening meal. They were still doing the “eat out to help out” so we booked. Previous places we have been on the eat out deal have been a disappointment as they seemed to cut back on quality and portion. The Rufford arms however was exceptional! Fantastic service and fantastic food. Two courses Each for £36 The deal knocked off £18 so we only paid £18.00! The meal without the deal would have been fantastic anyway! We will be back.

As we've said earlier, we booked for a meal as soon as restaurants were allowed to reopen and were very happy, both then and several times since. We've recently booked for Sue's birthday, and then again for another evening out to lift the gloom. The specials menu each time has sparked something for enjoyment, and this last time I ate from it entirely: a smoked salmon tagliatelle as a starter (also available as a main) and the Thai duck breast with noodles as a main: Sue happily had the main's menu version of prawn in filo pastry., which is offered as a starter. The house wines are excellent, and there is a single, very drinkable, real ale from a local brewery. In spite of tier 3 restrictions, we are happy to have booked again shortly: we can't mingle elsewhere, but enjoy careful service in a properly distanced layout here. We've also sampled the Thursday Vegan menu, and it was superb. This restaurant is keeping us able to be happy with ourselves and what's left of the rest of the world.

Went twice and enjoyed both visits, the service and food were both excellent and drinks were good value for a restaurant. the set menu was really good value and food of an excellent quality, I had the black pudding starter both times, and Sea Bass , first visit and Salmon on the second, my partner had Halummi fries and steak, the other time he had Mongolian beef. all presented well. so yummy. Enjoyed it so much forgot to take photos.....

As a self confessed meat lover I am constantly being nagged by my vegan and veggi daughters to go over to the VEGAN LIFESTYLE - Not a chance...HOWEVER, this restaurant that we have dined in before and always thoroughly enjoyed over many years has deemed it fit to have a Vegan Night on a Thursday!I was dragged along proclaiming my love for meat and said I would only go as long as the "Normal" menu was available which indeed it was.When we arrived we where taken to our "Covid" ready Table and both the normal menu and new vegan menu were presented to us.After more nagging and in my plight for an easy life I succumbed to indulge in the Vegan offerings.Wow was I glad I did, and I can hardly believe I'm saying this! It was truly fabulous.For a starter I had grilled field mushrooms with onion jelly/relish and vegan Mozzarella cheese which I thought I was going to be able to complain about as being less tasty and the wrong substance etc. Wrong. It was delicious.For main I opted for the Vegan Burger with interest. Made from butternut squash and chick peas, served on a fresh bun with home made tomato salsa, side salad and fries. Honestly, and again I'm in shock with myself, one of the tastiest things I've eaten in a restaurant in a very long time. Truly fab.Finally, and I was a bit full but all in the duty of vegan research ! I had the Coconut pannacotta served with a fruit coulis, vegan of course, and yet again blown away.I did also have a taste of other offerings from the family and hate to admit it but it was all excellent - can't wait until next Thursday - Quite unbelievable !!!!!!!!!

Once again we ate at this resturant last nught . Fish chips mushy peas,perfectly cooked . Light crispy batter on the fish . Well done again chefs . Staff helpful and friendly . Covid rules in place . Also the gammon was the best . 10/10 quality food .

As 'locals' we've been coming here for many years and following our latest visit earlier this week, can honestly say the quality of food, presentation and service is perhaps better than ever. I had one of the tastiest three course meals I have ever had, every course was superb. Tempura King Prawns, Pork Medley (Never tasted better pork in my life) and my all time favourite, Rice Pudding, the nicest I've ever had, even though it had no skin ! All the food we had was, as always, very tasty and beautifully presented, care had been taken to use a different plate for each dish and it all looked stunning. We also felt very relaxed as it was clear to see that they had excellent procedures in place to ensure the safety of their customers and staff. The staff deserve a special mention. They are always polite, friendly and extremely efficient. Fabulous visit........we booked again on our way out !!

Had a great meal again tonight. Food as always was excellent accompanied by a lovely Malbec wine. I had the black pudding starter and it just melted in the mouth. The Mrs had garlic mushrooms which she loved. Mains, I had the lamb and my wife had the sea bass, both of which were so tasty and cooked to perfection. Onto the puddings....I had the truly scrumptious sticky toffee pudding and the mrs had the cheese platter which was equally scrumptious. Finished with delicious liqueur coffees. The service as always was exceptional. Sue and the staff do a wonderful job and every time we have been it always feels special. Background music just at the right volume and always nice tracks playing. Who couldn’t enjoy a delicious meal with Nora Jones gently playing in the background. We will definitely be returning. Yesterday my wife and I visited the Rufford Arms. We both had the fish, chips and mushy peas. The chips were poor, they had a chewy texture, possibly very old potatoes. The fish itself was fine but the batter was very greasy as were the onion rings that we had. We both still feel a little queasy nearly 24 hours later.We have visited on 8 or 9 previous occasions and always had good meals but on this visit something had obviously gone wrong.It has put us off returning again which is a shame as it is a lovely place in a nice location.

Booked a group for a meal after a funeral.We all sat in our own ‘Bubbles’ because of CoVid well space apart so everyone felt they were safe, and had ordered our main course In advance. Everything went well with excellent food and very attentive service.I couldn’t fault them. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Thank you to the staff at Alexandras Brasserie, for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Our 1st visit here. Beautiful decor. Clean. Felt safe in these uncertain times. Very attentive and friendly staff. Beautifully cooked food. Nice early bird deal, £18 for 2 courses, even better as they participated in the 50% off government deal. Very good value at original price. We shall certainly return. Been here today and had a really lovely meal but felt very unsafe as tables were close together and I was practically shoulder to shoulder with the woman on another table. No tables appear to have been removed since before lockdown and it was impossible to socially distance because of this.

Stayed at the Rufford Arms on Monday 10 August. Really helpful when booking as was unsure of situation with Covid-19 etc (we were coming from South Wales and different rules in England to Wales)Room was perfect. Lovely facilities.Had booked dinner in the restaurant. Food was fantastic. Went for all 3 courses (which I don't usually do, but it was so good) The staff was so friendly and helpful. Social distancing in place etc so felt quite safe in that respect.Thank you for a very welcoming stay. We have family in the area, so next time we visit we will definately re-book.

We visited this restaurant on Tuesday 11 Aug , meal excellent . We had as mains , Roast Lamb , Pork belly Salmon and battered Haddock . Well presented and delicious .Customers well spaced out , hand santitizers all areas . Going back next week , highly recommended.

Four of us visited the restaurant for the first time since lockdown. It was always one of our favourite places to eat and is still a lovely dining experience. It felt very welcoming and the food was exceptional. We had a thoroughly enjoyable night and will not hesitate to return soon. If anyone is feeling nervous about venturing out for the first time then the Rufford Arms is the place to go.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing meal. The restaurant was quiter than usual. Anyone worried about visiting during the present Corvid19 recovery shouldn't be. The staff are very vigilant but discreet, there is plenty of hand sanitising liquid around, clear instructions on each table and when we visited there was plenty of ventilation. The tables are well spaced around, service was as always excellent as was the food Just go and enjoy some wonderful food

In normal times, over many years, this is our go-to restaurant for just us, with friends, or for large groups. So when we got the Email from Sue saying they were re-opening from July 4th, we booked a lunch. We were worried that with the restrictions, the atmosphere would be gone - but no. Our welcome by Sue (owner and chief FoH) and David (one of her key FoH staff) was enthusiastic and reassuring, and the revised layout within the restaurant very good - the most elegant plexiglass screens we're seen. The menu was excellent, the food as well prepared as we remember, and the service as always smooth and efficient. The house wine remains very drinkable. We will shortly book an early evening meal and look forward to being to take friends without distancing when that is allowed.

We celebrated my dads 80th here in Jan and cannot recommend it enough. The staff were great at helping us organise the day in advance and the food/service on the day could not have been better. There were 22 of us so making sure all the orders were correct and the food comes out hot/together must have been hard, but they managed it. The food was really good value for money as well. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch to celebrate a special family birthday. The lamb shoulder was melt-in-the-mouth and really soft. The orange bread and butter pudding was also great. Service staff looked after us well, without being overly fussy.

What do you get if you go with a group of 30+ ladies for an evening meal at the Rufford Arms. A superb meal and fantastic service that's what, The Rufford Arms continues to provide a very high standard from the hot plates, lashings of gravy, the best lamb around to the top notch service it offers, Management shoule be very impressed with it' chefs and waiting on staff. If I could give 10 stars I would. Well done.

I invited 28 family members to join me for a celebration. The venue was an excellent choice,we all sat together, the food was hot and everybody commented on how lovely it was. Great service, couldn't have picked a better place. Excellent Thank you

In what has become an annual event we brought the Hoghton Players Gilbert and Sullivan Society for an after the autumn tour dinner. Just over 30 of us had chosen our preferences from the then party menu, and no-one was disappointed - far from it, positive comments all round. I was impressed that all three of the dishes I had chosen were not only excellent quality, but each had a little twist that lifted them above the run of the mill (that's what you get at a genuine independent restaurant, a touch of difference, a spark of excitement, while the chain ones can at best fail to disappoint.) Service was excellent. As well as the positive comments on the night, we continued to receive thanks for the evening at later rehearsals and committee meetings.We'd been equally pleased with our lunch for two when we came to finalise the dinner. And we will be there again in January for our wedding anniversary.

We booked a table on Saturday 14th December 2019 for four people. My wife has some serious allergies so she pre ordered her meal. The restaurant has an extensive choice of reasonably priced meals. The food was excellent and the attention to the allergy requests were handled very well with sensitivity. My wife felt safe and enjoyed every course as did the rest of our party. We would like to thank the chefs, waiters and staff for a lovely evening of excellent food and drinks. There was also some live entertainment in the adjacent room which enhanced the atmosphere. My only complaint was the car park was very tight and full up on the day so I had to park in the road.

Large birthday celebration for my dad’s birthday Sunday evening in December, the restaurant was reasonably busy, we arrived at 6 pm. I usually order the pâté for starters which I really enjoy here however I decided to go for the mushroom carbonara, mistake on my part. The carbonara sauce was not carbonara - the sauce was watery probably due to the mushrooms, it was just okay. I went for the roast turkey dinner for my main, bit disappointed there was no pig in blanket with it, came with a large Yorkshire pudding which in my opinion was a bit overdone as were the roast potatoes. It was okay, I’ve had better roast dinners elsewhere. It was fine but my meal was a Bit below par compared to normal standards. I do think I’ve probably ordered the wrong thing. Definitely recommend the pate from previous visits.

Whilst visiting family in Preston, we were taken to the Rufford Arms for an evening meal. Everything from service to starters to main courses was very good. Despite being a Saturday night, the restaurant ambience was good (not being too noisy or feeling crowded ).

Hello,Please could you pass on our gratitude to the restaurant staff who served us at mum and dad’s anniversary party today. They were so friendly, professional and efficient and that helped to make a day that they will talk about for a long time to come. All of the staff worked so hard and the service was flawless. I’d especially like to thank the man who helped us when we were setting up earlier in the day and who was then overseeing arrangements during the meal. What a star.

We were with a party, excellent food great atmosphere and good and friendly service, an very enjoyable meal out with friends.

Stayed overnight as a treat for my husbands birthday paid for by his brother and his wife. We all had a meal in the evening. My husband chose prawns pil pil with cod cheek which he said were the best he’d ever tasted. His brother chose the fish cake with asparagus sauce and poached egg on top, delicious. His wife chose the chicken liver pate which she enjoyed, I had bruschetta which was very good. I had the beer battered fish and chips for the mains, lovely white fish. The other members of my family chose the ribeye steak which they all enjoyed. Great staff, good efficient service.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last week even though I have driven past it for years! I was pleasantly surprised. I was invited to a celebration lunch here and found the surroundings to be modern but comfortable. The menu wasn’t huge which I found reassuring. I chose the pate to start which was very good and then had the fresh salmon served with fresh vegetables. The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. I only have one quibble/question for the manager. I fully understand why the restaurant gives a fish knife for a fish dish, albeit quite an old fashioned concept, but when the vegetables (excluding the potatoes),served with the fish are, unfortunately, almost raw (I presume they are supposed to be al dente) the fish knife is useless for cutting them!

After a gap of 3 years decided to meet our daughter here for lunch. The staff were very pleasant and the service was excellent. I had a light meal of wild mushroom tagliatelle with pancetta- delicious. My husband roast salmon and my daughter gammon. They both said how much they enjoyed their lunches and we will definitely return before too long. They have got it just right, plenty of people of a certain age enjoying their food, the whole restaurant was immaculate with cloth napkins which always impress me.credit to the Chef, freshly prepared delicious food.

We have dinned and lunched at Alexander's Bistro at The Rufford Arms regularly for at least five years, and being 'fussy oldies' we know what impresses us, and what doesn't!

Visited as a party of five for Sunday lunch set menu which offers a very good choice on all courses. As always, excellent welcome on arrival and shown to a lovely table in the nicely decorated restaurant. All the food we had was beautifully presented and tasted very nice. Only slight negative was the portion of veg served which was a bit measly. The highlight for me was the White Chocolate and Raspberry Bread and Butter Pudding, one of the most delicious desserts I have ever eaten !! All in all another great meal. We've been coming here for many years and it never fails to impress. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Came with my wife for our 30th anniversary meal, as ever service, food and presentation were top notch. Thank you for a superb meal.

I visited on Fri 26th July with my wife and 2 friends, food was as expected absolutely Brilliant, the only downside was the entertainment, the singer was reasonably good but the volume was way way to high for the size of the part of the restaurant we were sat in (very close to the 3 massive speakers) kinda spoiled the night we didn't stay too long once the noise really got under way. Pity

What can I say. The Rufford Arms never fails to excel. Just got home from having the Sunday Lunch fixed price menu and it was fantastic from start to finish.

What a fabulous venue , cannot thank the staff for the wonderful attention at our daughters wedding, food was delicious ,service was excellent , all guests very impressed ...nothing was to much trouble ...and at the end of a lovely day all rooms in hotel were part of wedding package with a lovely breakfast next morning ....once again thank you all for a perfect day ...very highly recommended

We have just attended a wedding of a life long friends daughter at this great venue. It was a beautiful day all round especially the weather thankfully.

We preordered and our orders were checked on arrival. In spite of this my order was incorrect and I had to wait whilst my food was cooked and the rest of our group ate. I had ordered Red pepper and cashew nut stir fry on a bed of pak choi and rice noodles.When it arrived it contained no Pak Choi or rice noodles as described on the menu. It was overly sweet , contained soft , rather than crunchy cashew nuts and was very diappointing. I mentioned this to the waitress when asked how it was and was told that she would tell the cook . This was the last I heard of the matter..My desert was also disappointing - crime brûlée ,which had a very solid custard and was too stodgy to eat. I have visited this restaurant before and enjoyed a good meal . I can only think that they have a new chef who is not up to standard.

Our friends treated us to lunch. The food was delicious and we savoured every mouthful. The choices on the menu made it difficult to decide what to eat, so we will have to go back.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with friends with a lunch here. The chef's special two course lunch deal offered an excellent choice. Three of us had starters then mains, and one main and dessert - all well cooked and served with efficiency. On a Monday after Christmas, it was quiet, but both the kitchen and front of house were sharp as usual - not always true in other establishments when it is quiet. This remains our 'go-to' restaurant for personal special events and for booking for large parties. Since we last reviewed on here, in autumn we brought a group of around 30 from our G&S; society - all very happy with the group booking menu - and we'll shortly be back for a group birthday meal.

In our experience as a party of two we can sometimes feel overlooked for larger parties. This was not the case with our Christmas meal at the Rufford Arms. We were made to feel very welcome and part of a greater atmosphere. The food was reasonable priced and catering for everybody needs. The staff were very friendly and attentive and we could not fault them for their patience as we were both one of the last numbers of people leaving at lunchtime. There was no faults to report and we certainly see ourselves visiting again.

Just a one night stay, but we were recommended this establishment. A good choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The reception process was quick and efficient. The rooms are of a good standard and clean, tea and coffee provided. The downside for the business trip was the internet was slow. But for 1 night , it was not really a problem.

One of our favourite restaurants this, but of a journey from where we live but always worth it nice warm contemporary feel, good varied drinks selection, always have a good selection on menu I opted for Sirloin steak medium rare it was cooked to perfection, always greeted by friendly attentative staff.

Never ever been Dissapointed here -the food / the service is always top notch. Not too expensive for a top notch restaraunt either. Did you know -if you ring in advance - They will let you do breakfast there at a weekend - and it is superb -fresh cooked -no cheap meats here ! Well recommended !

We booked in our friends from the Hoghton Players Gilbert and Sullivan Society for this year's 'after the autumn tour' meal. We were 31 in total, ate happily from the function menu, and our one 'gluten-free' person was served efficiently along with the others. Everyone said how much they enjoyed it, and seemed reluctant to go home, which is always a good sign at a large function. (In the run-up to this we had also dined as a couple, once for a birthday and once just to enjoy ourselves while finalising this booking. At one of those we sampled the newish vegan menu, which was so good I had a vegetarian dish for the big meal.) Sue's staff served efficiently and unobtrusively: this, along with the quality of the food being a hallmark of this restaurant's continued attractiveness. We will certainly offer to book in the society again next year. One of the members, relatively new to the area, hadn't realised this restaurant was there and happily took away the various 'coming soon' notes and menus.

Food staff and service was all excellent ,and we are going again for our Christmas meal together ,a friend recommended it to me .

My husband and I brought my Mum for her birthday lunch. Great choice of menu with great vegetarian options. All the staff very attentive and polite, great atmosphere and very clean. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We will certainly return again and have all ready been looking to book for around Christmas.

A large group of us gathered for a birthday meal. The staff were fantastic in helping to set everything up as we wanted. The food was excellent with a really good wine list.

My partner and I visited today for Sunday lunch with friends. The menu was large and varied, and I chose the starter of toasted goats cheese which I expected to include asparagus, though there was no asparagus in evidence. For the main I chose the oven roasted salmon fillet, mainly because it came on a bed of broad beans. However, when it arrived, the salmon was in a few shrimps in sauce. Disappointing!

Came here for our 47th wedding anniversary and had a delicious meal at lunch time. They have 2 course lunches for £14.50 and it was lovely. Have been here for Christmas meals but not otherwise. Prices are reasonable and you get good service, the ambience of the restuarant is good too. Will certainly endeavour to come more frequently in the future.

We came here for our wedding anniversary and had a delicious meal. We had the 2 course lunch for £14.50 and chose a main course and dessert. The pork medallions came with roast baby new potatoes, apple sauce and vegetables. For dessert I had rocky road sundae and my husband had creme brûlée. The tables were nicely set and the restaurant is very classy. The staff were pleasant and professional without being over attentive. The hotel is near to Rufford Hall so you could combine your visit to the restaurant with a trip there. I think it's £9 to visit the hall and gardens.

My husband stayed at the hotel the night before our wedding. He had an evening meal and said we should go together one night, so we did. The veggie and vegan options looked so good I had a vegan starter but followed it with a super tasty steak. The service was great and we were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived, it wasn’t anywhere near as much as in similar places in the surrounding area. We only live 10 minutes away, I think we will become regulars!

Came here 19th August for Sunday lunch was busy which is a good sign. Food was good sirloin beef was at a high standard , black pudding starter was nice but I have tasted better black pudding . My girlfriend really enjoyed the seafood tian and her lamb roast . Good service and nice to see smartly dressed staff.

We visited Alexander's Brasserie for the first time recently as a celebration for my wife's birthday. Unsure of what to expect were all very pleasantly surprised. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that we were happy and had everything we needed.

We are from the Sunday lunch menu which was good value. The food arrived promptly and was lovely, fresh selection of vegetables and delicious potatoes. Service was friendly.

As usual an excellent lunch at this restaurant. Table dote or Ala Cart`e Very friendly staff and good service, will have to visit again soon

We stopped for a lunch with friends at the brassiere and it was great , pleasant staff and wonderful food would recommend and go again if passing.

A voucher for 25% discount off food was the tempter to make the 25 minute journey in the dark to Alexander's Bistro at the Rufford Arms! Well worth the trip, with excellent food, good service in pleasant surroundings. Menu is varied, with plenty to suit all tastes and lots of choice at a reasonable price (even without the voucher!).

The Rufford Arms Hotel is an excellent place to stop, whether your staying in the area or just passing through.

Arrived here without booking and was welcomed in and given a choice of table by the window. Very friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. We were presented with a choice of three separate menus, from very basic to a la carte. The choice was very varied making it quite difficult to choose - so many tempting choices. We eventually made our choice and both opted for the melon and fruit starter followed by the seared sea bass fillets on a bed of noodles. They were both delicious. We opted just for plain ice cream and cheese for desserts followed by coffees.

We booked dinner bed and breakfast , great value deal. The service from start to finish was excellent. All staff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful, keen to ensure the most positive of experiences for their guests. Very calm, relaxing and welcoming , well worth the money and well worth the time . We will certainly be going back.

4 for lunch - excellent value with 2 courses for £14.50. All had different starters and mains - soon arrived, all well presented and great flavours. Service smooth and friendly. Homemade ice cream as extra was another winner. Well worth the trip out of town!

I was there last Saturday lunch with five friends and all starters and main meals were amazing. Fresh, nice portions and very very tasty.Also the service was very professional and friendly they cared.

I gave this place a go after our favourite restaurant was becoming more and more of a let down. Plus it was 20 minutes closer.

We had a very pleasant evening with friends and dined from the special evening menu. There were plenty of choices, a couple with supplements.

Special dinner for a family celebration and the Rufford Arms didn't disappoint from a great choice of menu, to delicious food to friendly and welcoming staff. We all chose different options and every dish was excellent. I highly recommend the Goosnargh chicken stuffed with haggis and a whiskey sauce - super in its own right but also accompanied with melt in the mouth buttery pomme anna. Wonderful!!

Stayed overnight, reasonably comfortable. However, breakfast was an extra £8.99 on top of the room price and far from enjoyable, I sent my first choice of scrambled eggs back. The staff however were pleasant and accommodating.

From time we got there to time we left the staff was very good. Nothing was any bother to them. Food was lovely. Would go again.

I recently visited the rufford arms for my company Christmas party. The food, staff, service and entertainment were excellent and I would recommend to both friends and family. Keep up the good work.

having been to this establishment on several times i must say the service from start to finish is excellent, the food is top notch always thoroughly enjoyable and the staff are a real credit to the owners .

Just called in on spec today with a colleague for a quick bite to eat whilst travelling from Liverpool to Preston. Received a nice warm welcome on a very chilly day. This was then accompanied by Delicious proper home made Carrot & Coriander soup that was very very tasty. A lightly battered cod followed with a nice selection of Chips and fresh vegetables. Sadly no wine on this visit be will definitely be back shortly with the wife for a proper evening indulgence. Many thanks

Visited here a few years ago and was delighted to find the levels of service and the friendliness of the staff were still as high as they were back then.

Felt quite uncomfortable here for a light lunch, I would return for something more formal but if you are looking for a talkative, relaxed lunch without being rushed don't expect to feel all that welcome here.

Returned here fro our group Christmas meal and the food was great and the service is excellent. Even though we had pre ordered the Manager asked if anyone wanted to change their mind and had a list of all our choices.

37 of us went for our Christmas Meal last night and had a superb evening. The service was exceptionally good and fast but unobtrusive, which was nice. The food was amazing, beautifully presented on very hot plates, with lovely crispy roasties and lots of gravy. I had the braised beef which came like a mini joint and was so tender that it fell apart on touching it. There was not one bad meal amongst the 37 served so I am really impressed with the way the Rufford Arms handles bulk catering. Well done.
