I am disgusted that Edward Booth is penalising his regular customers by inflicting a one hour time restriction on spending money {to enhance his cushy lifestyle) I understand that it is inconvenient that hospital visitors abuse the carpark making it difficult for shoppers to park, but a better solution should be found. When I voiced my feelings to a member of staff I was asked if I had any suggestions to alleviate the problems (yes many) pay me Edward and I will share my ideas! Meanwhile I will vote with my feet (well car really) my local corner shop, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Tesco will be my "go to" shops in the future. EDWARD, you had two left feet when we all went to the Top Rank Ballroom, you still have two left feet shunning all the people who have made you rich. Hopefully (like Woolworths - booths will become a thing of the past and a better company will take over the running of the shop.

We visited the main restaurant while visiting Bridgemere. We settled on a cheese scone and a coffeee each. What a mistake!!! The scones, costing £2.75 each, were probably the worst scones we had ever come across. They were hard, crumbled in many fragments when cut and were extremely dry and unpleasnt to eat. This experience has put us off ever eating a scone ever again.

What a vile, filthy shop this is, the staff are lethargic and uninterested in the customers or anything else. Skulking in corners to avoid engaging with customers. And the so called manager Tracy, what a joke!

Nice surroundings, however food was not. Only 2 other tables occupied also, so no excuse. Full breakfast ordered, bacon uncooked, cold beans, cold coffee, sausages no meat content. Vegetarian breakfast, sausages were overcooked, tasteless also. Cold beans, strange tomato concoction, like puree. Hash browns and fried eggs were good on both breakfasts. Wish we had read reviews prior. Did not complain, as couldn’t be bothered with their unprofessional attitude, noted when food was placed on the table. Writing review so no one else wastes their money, AVOID

We stayed at the Lakehouse, annexe to the Waterhead Inn. We had a pot of tea on arrival, and an evening meal with drinks in the evening. There was a good choice of food, and the service was excellent. I enjoyed my cocktail. The food was tasty and well presented. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 circles is the tea bag was served on the side of a pot of hot water (no doubt to cater to foreign tourists), but not what I would expect. That aside, I think the other negative reviews were absolutely not representative of our experience, so don’t let them put you off.

I waited for 15-20 mins for inedible thick bread. I just ordered toast because it takes them ages to bring any food out. And they did it again even with toast. How? Plus Id need a horse mouth to even bite that bread they served me. I left it. Didn’t even get given jam or honey, just wrapped up butter. Been here a few times now and it’s never busy but always takes soooo long to get any food. I’ve had eggs Benedict before which were good enough I guess. I do think this cafe is overpriced though. A pot of tea & “toast” cost me just under £7. I ended up going to Tesco cafe were I got a full English breakfast for under £6 and in half the time. By the way, I told the waitress I’m leaving the toast because it’s rock solid and ridiculous. She said “oh sorry” but didn’t offer me a refund or to get me something else. So not great at resolving complaints there.

I took my 60 year old mother here and the bouncer was aggressive and swore at her. Horrible. Will never go here again.

Nice wait staff, food takes about 20 - 30 minutes depending on how crowded it is (which is to be expected). Prices on alcohol is extremely reasonable. It gets very rowdy during the weekend but that's not a problem as fights barely happen. 10/10 would go again

Shocking food. Ordered the salt and peppers chips and they were dreadful. Chips were soggy and the salt and pepper was nowhere to be seen. Not a proper Chinese this at all. And my mate ordered a cheeseburger and he said that Birds Eye burgers was better. Undercooked by the grumpy burger and kebab maker. To many items on the menu cater for the kids in the sixth form college down the road. Avoid at all cost

I came in at 4pm with a friend and chose a bottle that was almost £50....we chose a table in the empty bar/restaurant however as soon as we sat down were asked if we were eating....as we weren't we were asked to move....when we left at 6:40pm there were probably 40+ empty tables.....why ask us to move ??? Jobsworth and ridiculous... Also bar staff training need....when there are guests standing at the bar please at least acknowledge their presence...we were invisible for probably 10 minutes before we were served despite there being 4 staff working the bar....
