The best restaurants serving British food in North West

The haggis was nice (well his name was really Angus but we found it funny). We also gave him a £17 tip - if he didn’t put this in the tip box he took off with it!!! I love haggis, he deserves a pay rise

Me and my friend attended for lunch the food was excellent very hot and served very quickly,,staff very friendly ,helpful we had Ollie serve our food ,Mollie did check back and had a chat and Anna is the Head chef so well done to you all you are a credit the the company....

Went for breakfast this morning. We were really impressed with the food and choices. Tracey who worked there was really helpful and professional. We will definitely be going back.

We visited on a Saturday evening after a day out in Manchester. The food was great. We had fish and chips, lasagne and a burger. All were delicious, well priced, with good portions size. Staff were friendly and there was a pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent service and excellent quality food and clean pub bar staff was very friendly and helpful and a good evening been a few time now always good service

Wanted to visit for a while. Lovely evening by the canal. Perfect. My wife and I both had Turkey Sunday Roast. Quick service and pleasant staff. Plentiful size servings and food was hot. Potatoes were hard as was the veg. Everything else fine. Was a long journey from the Wirral so probably won't rush back. Sorry.

Went for lunch looked better as been refurbished staff pleasant especially the waitress who looked after us food ok very busy

Arrived in the bar - no one in sight! Waited a while eventually lady arrived and served us. Took a drink into the restaurant. Went to order our meal and drinks. Cashier did not listen to my choice of wine and served a wine I did not want!Had to ask again! Steak meal was apparently excellent! My katsu chicken goujons arrived looking nothing like picture on the menu- overcooked and no garnish! Ordered a Cadbury Caramel nibbles dessert with chocolate flake - what arrived was a completely different and contravened trades description!!! No flake not a caramel nibble in sight just four chocolate buttons! If someone had said sorry we’ve run out of flakes and caramel nibbles I’d would have understood - but to treat me like an idiot and pass off the dessert as it was, was a disgrace! Get a grip ‘chef’ and own up to your problems! All in all a very average meal. Fortunately we are only passing through and wont return!

Called in last minute and were kindly given a table by the lovely staff! Had a superb meal accompanied by great wine and some lovely conversation with other locals dining there, it was a brilliant evening! Special thanks to the lovely gentleman who took my friend Margaret's birthday gift for me and kept it safe until the following day when she was booked in for a lunch with friends. The present was delivered safely and Margaret had a superb time. The landlady and staff here are all great, we love coming here, a huge thank you to everyone who always takes such good care of us (and our friends) on each and every visit! x

this was a family occasion , the food was fabulous all you could eat , had the turkey and ham + beef + great service.the chef was very friendly and nice to everybody his name was conor thanks from michael and eva fleming cork , ireland

We visited for lunch. The food was amazing and they catered for gluten free really well. The service, however, was appalling. With the exception of one waitress, who was very friendly and polite, the other waitresses in this establishment are very rude, unwelcoming, sullen and unhelpful, including the barrista behind the counter. None of them appear to be able to get a drink order right and the service was extremely slow. One dark haired, bespeckled waitress was particularly obnoxious and really should have a rethink about whether this type of job, where she has to deal with the public, is too much for her. Very disappointing. We won't be going again because of them, which is a pity as the food was excellent.

Went with my sister and mum,mum has dementia,she can shout out some times ,this didn't go down well with the management who asked if we would like to move ,they wanted us out of the way of other customers ,this has happen on more than one occasion,definitely not special needs friendly !

Well cooked Premier Inn Breakfasts. Good selwction of items for all tastes and appetites. Friendly, helpful staff. Does not disappoint.

Have visited on many occasions an found to be very satisfactory, this occasion on Friday 31st March 3pm found to be unsatisfactory as food was not to satisfactory standards IE.. vegetables dry cold and under cooked, Yorkshire pudding was flat an hard along with traditional roast potatoes. Have also noticed toilets not be to cleaned to a high standard, also witnessed serving staff behind carvery eating food from the carvery making jokes and placing food back that they bit back very unprofessional and unhygienic to members of paying custom, don't know if this is an ongoing situation?? But for the time of day place was empty, annoyed at the fact have wasted £51 on food that wasn't to standard. IE IF I WAS MANAGEMENT STAFF BEHIND SERVER WOULD OF GOT SACKED ON THE SPOT FOR THE UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR. NOT EXCEPTED WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!

Extremely poor. Absolutely nothing special. Surprised Marco Pierre White has put his name to this place. Friday night and maybe 3 tables in says all you need to know.
