Brewers Fayre Clayton Green in Oldham

Went for breakfast this morning. We were really impressed with the food and choices. Tracey who worked there was really helpful and professional. We will definitely be going back.

Honestly the worst meal I’ve ever had. More than 45 minutes wait, even though it wasn’t busy. Nachos with chilli were tepid, and the tortilla chips were cheap and flavourless. Hotdog was tepid. Chicken gougons were over cooked. After such a long wait we just ate it, but not a single member of staff came to ask how our food was, or spoke to us on our way out. First and last time visiting this place!

Went here breakfast. Fantastic value that kids eat free. Food was really nice, hot, lots of choice and will be returning

Great staff, very friendly. Stayed at the Premier Inn on the bank Holiday Monday so booked in for the meal deal. From walking in for our meal, the staff were very friendly. One in particular, Becca was very chatty and went out of her way to help on any way. Will definitely go back if in the area.

Visited for a family meal and was very happy, food was hot and fresh, not a long waiting time and service from Joe was fantastic so we stayed for a few drinks after our meal, will be visiting again!

We frequently visit Clayton green the kids love it here staff are so friendly and always happy to help and amazing with the kids lovely food great atmosphere and really good deals especially in the kids holidays

This place is somewhere that you think is ideal for a relaxed family experience, but in fact the standards within the restaurant are so low it’s far from relaxed. Filthy tables, food on the floor, unclean surfaces all over and a lack of acknowledgement or effort around the standards. I took my son in the play area and the floor is absolutely filthy, his socks are absolutely black from walking from our table to the soft play area. I dread to think what the hygiene standards are like in the kitchen behind closed doors if it’s this bad in the restaurant. We’ve also recently come for breakfast and again the standards of service and food were laughable. Nothing was restocked/replenished quickly enough for the amount of people, no plates/cups, so much cross contamination and again just absolutely filthy. I can’t believe Brewers Fayre haven’t stepped in to do something about this place as it’s horrendous! Such a shame as there’s such a need for a family friendly place like this in the area with soft play inside.

Natalie and Jake went above and beyond. Excellent food perfectly cooked with outstanding customer service. We come here a lot and today was truly outstanding. Thank you.

Came for mother's day treat, the welcome was great, the food was hot and tasty. The steak was cooked to perfection. We will be back.

Food took ages to arrive and when it did it was cold and as dry as anything. One of my friends had to wait 35 minutes longer than the rest of us for her food which meant we actually ate separately. Not a great experience unfortunately 😕

Service very slow , waiting ages to get served at bar only 1 staff on . Got a table to eat soon as we went in nit surprised though as food was terrible ordered a special burger but nothing really special about it tasted like rubber wire than mcdonalds .sharing platter was just as bad could tell everything was from frozen and heated up , dry , burnt , and not very appetising would of been better going to Iceland and buying 3 bags of frozen platters for a tenner. Think they should invest in chefs rather than microwaves . Will not go again only if desperate..

Visited today with my husband and little girl, was told they didn't start food until 12 but chanelle was very accommodating took our order got us drinks for the wait, she was continously cleaning when not interacting with customers. She even gave us some brilliant information if we wanted to hold our daughters first birthday there. She is an asset to the team, her customer service skills were brilliant. Didn't really see anyone other staff to comment. But food was OK.

Disgusting service. Only had the decency to inform everyone that their Christmas day bookings were cancelled on 21/1223. Leaving it so late so everywhere else was full. This place was advertising just 4 days ago that they had spaces available for Xmas day.

Ordered mixed grill and nachos for our evening meal, mixed grill came out cold my nachos were all stuck together !!!!!! Both meals sent back to the kitchen came back ummmm ok was it reheated? You can't tell, but my nachos when i picked up nacho the whole lot came up !!!! I said to the waitress I don't want this she said do you want it reheated again omg !!!!!! Can't wait for breakfast !!!!!!!!

A little sceptical after looking at these reviews but genuinely a lovely place with very attentive staff. They seemed busy and were told there was a small wait on food which was fine and really appreciated the honesty. 2 team on the bar were really friendly and recommended a cocktail! Will definitely be returning

Avoid this place at all costs. We had breakfast here as visiting family were staying at the Premier Inn - if you told me this restaurant was set up to rehabilitate offenders into working society I would have believed you. The noises coming from the kitchen sounded like something from a Gordon Ramsay programme - a constant stream of expletives and raised voices, music blasting as if it were a nightclub.. Certainly not a family friendly venue. The food we were presented with was all either burnt or undercooked - there was no inbetween. I wouldn't normally leave a bad review for a low budget establishment, you can't expect gourmet cuisine, but surely at the very least your staff can dish up more than undercooked sausages and bacon that resembles charcoal? We did ask for the name of the chef on duty (which was Jay) he could well be new to the business, but he needs serious retraining if he's permitted to serve food to the general public.

Dried out microwaved food and very bad mannered staff when telling them they had forgotten my sides. They need some serious training in there social skills and the way they treat customers. Leftover food under the table. This place has gone very downhill unfortunately.

I went for breakfast (staying in the excellent Premier Inn next door) and I was presented with beautiful food. I had bacon, poached eggs, mushrooms and black pudding (because I’m in Lancashire!) And it was superbly presented, was actually seasoned, and just delightful on a beautiful morning. They charge £10-ish for breakfast and it was worth every penny!

So we went for breakfast today and had yoghurt, honey and muesli to start, followed by the full english, which was very full! All freshly cooked and piping hot - and so much of it neither of us could finish it, which, believe me, is unusual! Well done to the team! Great Covid management and top notch food. Why 4 stars and not 5? The coffee and orange juice were not good, but all in all, this will not put us off going back. Great job!

Food was good and service was quick, Olivia was brilliant as always whenever we have been there. No issues with safety at all, felt very safe with measures in place.

Had a family meal recently. Took 83 year old out and she loved everything she had . We all had starters and mains and some had dessert. Great choice and have to say we felt safe due to Covid safeguarding measures, distancing and cleanliness. Staff were excellent very helpful and cheery. Can only remember a few names, James, Sophie, Olivia and Ryan. Will definitely be back.

We visited for a meal during the eat out to help out scheme in all honesty expecting chaos but we were very impressed with the COVID measures in place, the professionalism and great service provided by the all the team and the delicious food. Although the menu was limited for obvious reasons there was plenty to choose from and something to suit everyone. I had a burger which was filling and delicious while my partner had a steak which he ordered medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. I also loved that there was the option to substitute the side orders on the children’s menu as our little one doesn’t eat chips so it was great being able to have 2 veg options instead. Overall a huge thumbs up and we will definitely be heading back. Great service provided by Rachel and Olivia

Starters were perfect, chicken strips were perfect portion and very tasty. Mains came out within 5 mins and looked amazing as well as taste. Complimented the evening well with pudding and superb staff. Can't wait for my next visit

Far exceeded our expectations! A reasonable range of options featuring a really tasty and plentiful English breakfast with all the trimmings - all freshly cooked. Considerably better than many more expensive establishments all across the world - and amazing value too.

Staff were superb, made us feel very welcome. Service excellent, very quick. Food was lovely. Highly recommend tomato soup. Lots of choices for breakfast. Children go free with adults so works out good value for money. Have as much or little as you like. Breakfast keeps you going for the day .

Just returned from lunch and the restaurant was full so we were expecting a long wait. The staff are always lovely,friendly and cheerful. Our food came much quicker than we expected and it was all cooked to perfection. Great prices

Whilst at the venue today we was served by a lady in the children's area Alaina she was amazing from entering she was so polite seated us, and then when our food come she was very polite after this the desserts came and there where no strawberries and she apologized sincerely and then we asked for my daughter's birthday cake and she hid around the corner and waited for us to be ready came and sang happy birthday with us, I have worked in a lot of catering companiesAnd people like her need to be appreciated.Last little bit whilst one of the dads went to the toilet the little boy was crying and she also cuddled him and made he feel better.Thank you casey mum.

Such a good choice to pick from . Fantastic value when taking 2 children with you.The staff were friendly and could do enough for you. Stuffed is an understatement.

Never again will I ever go there both me and my friend had lasagna we had Asda own that been loads better than what we was serve today it came out in less than 10 mins had clearly been microwave the chips look like they been warm up and they was cold had to take them back we wasent even ask by the staff if everything was ok the staff was to busy having a chat with each other at the bar The carpets have black with dirt felt like I had to wipe me feet on the way out not on the way in the toilets didn’t even have working locks on them

No complaints with the food or the service, apart from the carvery had already run out of roast beef at 2pm, so had to have turkey which was a bit dry . We had to wait about 30 minutes on a busy Sunday, so thought that was acceptable. Main downside was that our party of 17 was crammed in to a small space on a long table alongside another party of a similar size. We could hardly get in and out of our chairs .

Staying at the premier inn for my daughters wedding. Choose the premier inn breakfast deal,two free kids with every adult. Absolute bargain and can definitely recommend! Staff where utterly amazing,Rebecca,Jojo and Tracey.Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast was fresh hot and tasty with plenty of choice. Kids loved the play area. We would definitely be making this a regular visit when in the area. 10/10

Lovely atmosphere staff are very friendly and welcoming, party of 10 we came in Saturday evening and it was extremely busy luckily we booked a table. All the staff were smiling and made us all feel at home food was lovely all came out together and piping hot we will definitely be returning! But would advise to book at table to avoid disappointment for larger groups

Went to the Clayton Green with the family for a bit of lunch and found it to be better than previous visits. A party of 9 we were quickly and easily seated. All food ordered together and all arrived pretty much together.

Its a decebt set up, we usually take the kids decent play area but strange set up with seating in the kids bit you cant see the door due to the majority of the seatjng being behind the party section bit, foods not fantastic but its alright nothing special, and when we took the kids the air con was on and the room was baltic no one wanted to sit in there as it was freezing hmmm 50/50 on this one, some decent bits some disappointing bits, staff are friendly but a bit ditsy and messy they leave tables for ages dirty etc

Came here at early lunchtime with grandparents, who dine out regularly ( and who can be fussy!) and we could not fault the service or the food, Good choice on menu and all served in resonable time and waiting team all were friendly and efficient.

Food was tasty and hot, staff were friendly and the play area was great. We did not wait long for food, despite how busy it was. We will be back, and will definitely try the breakfast next time for the kids eat free. x

Went in for Christmas dinner and could not fault the whole day. Table service for drinks on arrival, followed promptly followed by our starters. Amazing service by all of the staff working on Christmas Day! Will definitely be returning.

Called in for breakfast. Great choices and everything was fresh. Cooked breakfast ordered quick service and hot. But was asked when we arrived did we want to be seated in the family area or the new quiet area as a couple without children we choose the quiet area. Immediately behind us came in a family with 2 screaming toddlers who they seated behind us in the quiet area. The family area had plenty of empty tables.

Just had a gender reveal party here and couldn’t be more happier with our service! Staff and food were both fantastic, they went above and beyond to make sure our gender reveal was perfect! Thank you to all the staff! Would definitely recommend this place and we will be coming here again! Amazing!

My family and I visited Clayton Green on the 30th of November We had a really nice meal .All the staff were lovely especially Alanis Walsh who served us at our table .Nothing was to much trouble for her. We will definitely be going back there the food was delicious.

Was staying at the Premier Inn for a week and planned to eat in the Brewers Fayre next door, that was the first mistake I made.

Staying at the premier inn we thought we would pop in for lunch. We was greeted and seated quickly. Great little place and the staff are friendly and polite. Food was lovely, served fresh and hot. I even sneaked in a beautiful xmas dessert. Well worth a visit.

We called in without a reservation but we were able to get a table no problem. The food was very good we all had the carvery. We haven’t been for a while as we were disappointed last time but we will visit again

Went with a friend for a meal to cheer them up. Service was indifferent and the food abysmal. Had the gammon myself, a very small piece arrived with approximately 10 'chips/fries' and a small dessertspoonful of peas. Haven't got a large appetite but it was beyond a joke. Would have complained but the purpose of the visit was to cheer the mood

We have stayed several times at the Premier Inn which is adjacent to the Brewers Fayre and have eaten at the Brewers Fayre on many occasions and have always been extremely happy with the food and service. Especially the Manager who can't do enough for you when your having your breakfast. Friendly and warm staff which reflects good and happy management..

Went in for breakfast and wasn't disappointed, lots of continental choice and fully stocked. Hot breakfast of your choosing was hot and good quality, especially loved the sausages. Nice friendly staff, can't wait to return.

Breakfast on a Saturday was lovely, what was even lovelier was the service. The wonderful team of Rebecca, Hannah and Rachel were welcoming and bright faced really started our day with a smile! These three ladies have breakfast running smoothly and were happy to have a chat. Will definitely be returning for this dream team, they do service with a smile perfectly!

Visited with the family (adults and children) one Sunday. Despite it being busy, service was quick and efficient by Tracey, Hanna, Jodie and Shannon. Hot food was delicious and they had everything we asked for. Staff checked to make sure everything was ok too. Continental buffet was kept topped up throughout. Will definitely recommend and will be returning.

Took the kids for their monthly treat to Clayton Green. Have never been before so didn’t know what to expect. Wasn’t too busy but still maintained a nice atmosphere. Had a mixed grill and kicking chicken. Food was pretty mediocre, how can beans be dry? Get what you pay for I suppose. Staff were wonderful I wish I’d got the name of the young waitress serving us. Dark hair, glasses and a lovely smile. She really is a credit to the business as nothing was too much trouble for her. All the staff were lovely but she dealt with us so please pass on my thanks! We will be back just please work on the beans!

Had my breakfast which had very good choices. The English breakfast was just to our liking. The service was good and the staff were very pleasant. Looking forward to going again.

Tables not clean, ladies toilets in an unacceptable condition, several meals off the menu, salads not fresh, starter overcooked. Only good thing- ale was fine.

Last night we visited with family. Had some food and drink and our little ones and used the play area.

I went here for a meal with my daughter and grandson. I haven’t been for a while and was looking forward to it, but left feeling a little disappointed. My daughter had a vegetable lasagne which was tasty but the portion was small. I had a Yorkshire pudding filled with sausage, mash and peas. Mine was tasty but again the portion wasn’t huge and the edge of my Yorkshire pudding was very hard. I like them crunchy but this was hard. I never used to have room for a pudding but I did today. My toddler grandson had spaghetti bolognese which he seemed to enjoy and my daughter confirmed that the children’s menu was actually quite good. The whole place felt a bit run down as if it needed a bit of a lift. It’ll probably be a while before I return.

We visit 2 to 3 times a month and have got to know the manager Matt very well and all the staff are always friendly and pleasant at all times we come in for food and drinks, always served at an excellent standard. would recommend this place to all my friends and family

Came here recently for a family meal with my wife and two children, who went speeding off into the play area almost instantly (After booking the children into the play area ofcourse). Service from the lovely young lady in the play area was great and told us we were able to get a table and eat in the play area if we so wished. Bar service was speedy for the time of evening as it was quite busy too and to be served by the lovely manager Rachel, who was full of life and energy was a really different experience for me and really stood out. We had no problems with delivery of the food either or the tastiness for that matter. was overall a pleasant evening and will be calling back soon.

Visited 11/8/19. Never been here before, the staff were in a can’t be bothered mood. Took the children to the play area, and an unfriendly girl behind the till in the play area, treated us as if we aliens, but I didn’t know how it works. She said £3 for 90 mins, the pushed a piece of paper at me, I had to ask what it’s for then she explained it’s for the children. I asked if we could eat in the play area and grumpily she replied “ye”. I think she was more interested in her daughter who was hanging around her as she worked. I had a carvery, with tomato soup for starter. Omg the soup was absolutely disgusting, it was so watered down, it was actually like drinking lukewarm red tap water. I sent it back, the waitress just took it without saying nothing, not even an apology, just couldn’t be bothered. The carvery was sub standard, meat was tasteless. The veggies saved the carvery, as they were nice. So for £9 I ate a plate full of veggies. We will never come here again as this experience has put us off. Will stick to our usual Toby carvery down the road which is excellent. Sorry we ate at The Clayton Green. Avoid this place.

Myself, Partner and vhildren visited on 06/08/19 and it was great the kids loved the play centre with the frendly young woman behind the desk nothing was too much trouble, We then moved to table 17 to order some food we had our starter( feast combo ) with the kids meals and then the mains we had smotherd chicken and a curry it was all great and i think lady that served us was called emma very helpful. Overall everyone including what seemed to be the management was really helpful and went that extra mile for the first time we as a family have been here we will be back

Well I was let down by the food had to ask for sauce on my prawn cocktail no butter left with bread children's sweet was missed right till end. Had to send chicken back not cooked they said temp prob was right not good enough sorry will be long time before I come because last time they gave me a credit not.

This is the first time we have been back here in 5 years after a really bad experience! We had our doubts about coming back but it was a pleasant surprise. This time was brilliant, the food was excellent and cooked just to our liking! The staff were also excellent Sophie and Matt looked after us really well and nothing was too much trouble! We will defiantly be coming back here!

Lois was a legend. Very polite and friendly. She should be travelling the country showing other brewers fayre staff how its done.

Make your minds up! Either everyone pays for the kids area or nobody pays. Don’t tell me I’m lucky I’ve never paid before as an excuse either, or try to belittle me by saying “you’re arguing over £3” That may be true but you’re the huge organisation here and you’re inconsistent in your collection of this fee. The girl with the great reviews on here has a shocking attitude too. Obviously another inconsistency!!! Disgraceful behaviour sneering and rude. Avoid her at all costs because the rest of the staff there have more manners than that.

Popped in for breakfast with the family this morning before our shopping trip out. Never been before and was very impressed with the choice and service . All you can eat for £9.50 and the kids eat free. Was greeted with a friendly welcome from Tracey as she explained how it all works and then showed us to our seats. The children played in the play area with a very pleasant member of staff (jojo) who kept them entertained while we ate. Waitress Jodie was lovely too and very helpful. Breakfast was very nice, we will definitely be returning here for more.

Hi, I don't normally write a review but just wanted to say that I came in late, there was adequate tables so was seated easily, the staff were lovely, nice and chatty. food was hot and service was fast, happy happy happy

We came here as a family for my husbands birthday get together and from the starter to walking out of the door it was a very disappointing visit. Starters arrived with 1 missing which took another 20 mins to come. We had all finished ours. After another long wait for our mains, the waiter handed a scorching hot plate to my husband asking him to grab it across the table, burning his fingers. After complaining we witnessed the same waiter doing the same thing to the customers on the next table. They certainly dont know how to cook a steak as my medium was practically walking off the plate and my daughters medium was very nearly well done. Just when we though it couldn't get any worse my daughter chomped down on a piece of plastic wrapped around her steak. Disastrous afternoon and wont be returning.

They brought the main meal halfway through our starters. Hence only lukewarm when we got to it. Our sundae had chocolate sauce all down glass and across base. I’m sure it was done on purpose because we’d complained. Only went because we had bog off vouchers. Never again

Amazing breakfast at Clayton green this Sunday gone, visiting friends and we though we would set ourselves up for the day! So much selection something for everyone hats off to the girls working so hard Tracey, Rebecca, hanna and Shannon! All so lovely and friendly makes you feel so welcome. We called in for a drink only. We sat in the bar at the front near the main doors. It was very busy and the food for the carvery looked lovely. The only problem was the amount of flies in the bar. There must have been at least 10 flying around the big window which would have put me off eating there

Lovely atmosphere upon entry it seemed really busy so we expected a small wait but we was seated quickly by Faye who also offered to bring us a drink whilst we took a look at the menu. Menu had lots of fab choice - ordered and food came out not long after - which was lovely may I add we was asked if everything was okay and if we needed anything else - When straightening up our bill the bar part was busy - quite a big queue that went down fast Faye was then working on the bar with who I presume was the manager Matt - they was laughing and joking between them and customers which was great to see - They wasn’t the usual rushed off your feet miserable staff you sometimes get when workplace is busy - you staff seem to know how to handle it well All staff was approachable when asking them something I will come back here with the rest of my family.

Visited Clayton Green for a family meal yesterday, can not recommend the experience enough. The young lady that served us, Rebecca, was so helpful when assisting us and talking us through an allergy book when I asked for advice regarding my little girls meal, something I haven’t experienced anywhere else! Thank you Rebecca & the team at Clayton Green.

I come here a lot with my great grandchildren, they love playing in the play area they are Always having a great time and have so much fun with the other kids , The staff are great very helpful and friendly me and my family have been coming for Christmas day for the last 4 years I would definitely recommend it for anyone , the food great & the play area open for the kids for free on the day so they keep entertained while the adults get merry , Matt and the team are doing a great job . Keep up the good work .

Really well thought out menu (national) that has something for everyone. Particularly striking is the children's (up to 12 yrs old) menu that has many interesting & healthy starter, main and dessert options - hence lots of permutations from which youngsters can 'design' their own meal. The (adults?) 'two mains for £8.99', from a limited selection, is well worth looking at. Good sized portions and, wait for it - proper chips made from real spuds! Good quality food came quickly, was well presented, nice 'n' hot & on warm plates - what more can we ask for? Staff were very helpful, polite & full of smiles. Modern, roomy, clean & tidy venue with separate areas to suit all needs. Very easy to get to by car with lots of parking. Definitely recommended.

Been here a few times and always enjoyed the visits. It’s fantastic having the kids play area for the Grandkids.

We have jus visited here as family & was welcomed at the door by mat who seated us where we was comfortable which we was pleased about! Our children went into the play area which is great for kids especially in the school holidays. It was quite busy but all staff where hands on & very pleasant. Food was lovely at a brilliant price . Will be returning later in the week

Can i just write to say that myself and my wife stayed at the hotel so had an opportunity to eat for both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant attached.

Had heard about the buffet/continental breakfast, so made a call to see what time they were serving breakfasts until, the chap said 11am. Got to the venue, can see cereals etc. but no hot food, when I asked the polish waitress she said, they did not bother with cooked breakfasts as not too busy, so I asked her to pass on to the male member of staff that answered the phone that he is an idiot. Banned the venue now.
