Parks Art Deco Cafe in Blackpool

Out for a bike ride and popped in, again. Had the plate of little cakes. Just what was needed. Sat outside with our bikes and people stopped to talk to is.

AMAZING!!!! the staff came to my rescue when our original afternoon tea elsewhere was cancelled that same morning. I rang them up at 11am with a very upset little birthday girl, on the off chance that they could book me at some point that day for afternoon tea. They said not a problem and they told me to be there for 1130am that same morning. They were so calm over the phone and advised me that they will make it very special for my daughters 4th birthday and to relax not worry and enjoy.. And did they just..... balloons, twinkle lights and the most beautiful table decorations. the food was amazing and we were made to feel that we were the only ones in there. The staff were amazing in particular our lovely server (name unknown- lovely man with a very cool hair cut : ) ) Worth every penny! and certainly made a rubbish situation turn into the most magical experience! By far the nicest afternoon tea I have ever had!! Can't wait to go again : ))) xx Thank you!!

We came here for lunch. We were shown to a table and given menus. There is a large choice on the menu and also a large specials board. I had the Parks Platter and my husband had a chorizo dish off the specials board. My platter was lovely. My husband enjoyed his food however said it was far too tomatoey - the board didn't even mention anything about tomatoes. Nice decor. Reasonable prices.

the waiting lady at the door was so rude to us and made us feel so unwelcome asif we was below her. Food was cold and not nice either only good thing would be how polite the waiting on staff are

Had a fantastic afternoon tea with family and friends. The food and service were great and Parks were able to provide a lovely lactose free afternoon tea, too. Our party had people in their 50s to 90s and everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you to Sean and your team.

So it was glorious sunshine when we ordered food, sat outside with our tiny dog, the food came just as it started to piss down, asked if we could come inide but dogs not allowed, they had no patio umbrellas so we were left to eat our breakfast soaked in rain water... what a waste of money that was !

This is a bit of a strange place. There's an air of a military basic training centre about it. The lady who guarded the door as if the crown jewels were within was somewhat interrogative. The staff were efficient and broke ranks occasionally to allow some warmth to show to their customers however their training soon kicked in and they retook their positions at parade rest. The food was great and for us Levi shone. He was professional and efficient with a sprinkle of comedic genius. You should definitely go for the experience; it's like a mix of accidental performance art alongside some great food.

Stopped here again the other day whilst walking in the park for some lunch,or we thought we had after having a nice tea and coffee the week before. Entered the building picked up a lunch menu joined the queue to get a tea and coffee to drink whilst we decided on our food order and further drinks. As we ordered our first drinks we were asked if we wanted anything else by the purple haired lady and before we could get a not at the moment out,the chap next to her rudely snatched the menu from our tray and put it behind the young girl taking payments so I just thought I'll ask her to retrieve it for me (a couple of feet away), big mistake it was to much trouble and with a wave of her arm she told us there were menus on every table. So we ventured outside to a table in the sunshine, no menu's, no order, no return. When people enter the world of hospitality they should really ask themselves am I the right person for this job. Also most of the staff waiting on seemed to be very on edge as though they are being watched constantly and not enjoying their work at all.

On a sunny day, this was the perfect setting for a meal for our group of 8. Most of us ordered the hot beef sandwich with caramalised onions which was one of the best we've had. It was an open sandwich with plenty of roast beef. The gravy and chips were great too. Ordered a slice of coffee cake but should have share it as it was a very generous slice. Great experience all-round.

Lunch today for two sat outside on the grass under a tree weather hot ordered poached salmon gourmet sandwich and the seafood plate salad and what a feast it was so much salmon salad really fresh totally exemplary good value too have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal it's a shame there are some negative reviews the young servers are very quick to help tables are cleared with enthusiasm giving us all a clean inviting place to sit so well done

First rate afternoon tea. A really nice savory selection including a soup shot and mino prawn cocktail. Nice cakes and a good supply of tea and coffee with frequent refills offered. Lovely venus and all the staff . very pleasant and helpful

We waited ages for our Mediterranean plate and cheese and bacon burger. When they finally arrived my Greek salad was without dressing and the olives were very slimy and squidgy. My husband's burger was in a dry bum which was falling apart and his chips were scraps. He's a large man, he needs to be filled up! I would have asked for dressing but there wasn't anyone around to ask. I didn't want to go inside carrying my meal with me. I spent just under £30 with drinks and I feel as though I've been robbed. Next time, I'll take a picnic

This Café served the best food. The Food was beautiful, Good Quality, Good amount, Good value for money - this is just what a paying customer wants. Equally, the staff were amazing, the surroundings were aesthetically pleasing, & clean. A nice touch was the manager came over and ensured that we were happy with our food that was served - I feel it was due to his excellent standards that the Café functions so well, I believe he is spot on with taking staff on that he feels have excellent qualities and standards, the Chef or chefs are amazing. Thank you for a very lovely eating experience. We will definitely return as regular customers, cannot wait to enjoy again. Keep up the good work!

Awful service from the outset from the senior staff terrible staff hygiene again from the older staff sneezing in to hands then proceeding to carry on making drinks whilst barking orders at the younger staff food was average at best

Like others, we were going to move tables to accommodate a party of 6. The manager stormed over and said this wasn't allowed, before going off to the other side of the cafe and moving tables together for us. He seemed very unhappy we had a buggy and insisted we move it in alongside our chairs and tables as awkwardly as possible so it "didn't get in the way" (there was plenty of space). You order food at the conveyer type arrangement on entrance, although when we asked for a fruit shoot, were told to go back and collect one from the start, which required a few excuse me's around the large queue. The food was mediocre, my burger arrived over done with brown salad. My son's potato was a little under cooked and he left most of it. The art deco interior is nice, but the experience is entirely spoiled by a lack of customer service.

Food was good and a beautiful location. The staff less so. Always seem hurried and in a rush. We weren’t sure if everyone was coming so we went for a small table and then rest of the party came and we attempted to move two tables together. We had a young child in our party and promptly got barked at by a member of staff saying we weren’t allowed to move the tables. No solution was offered and it was a bit awkward we moved to another larger table that could accommodate us all. The manger was rude and but was very quick to move the tables together to accommodate a much larger party that arrived. Training of the staff needs work and judging by the reviews we aren’t alone in feeling this way

The building is late Art Deco (1937,) when Art Deco went brick, rather than the earlier stone or white rendered buildings. Still, it's a nice enough exterior and tastefully decorated on the inside. We just called for a refreshing cuppa and a pleasant seat in the shade outside. Good to see the staff in masks and doing a thorough job of cleaning the tables. They were also extremely helpful and very polite, so well done. Our tea was decent enough and reasonable priced. There is a great view of the Italian garden from the front of the building. Also a one way in and separate way out system in operation.

I've lived in Blackpool most of my life and the art deco cafe has been as much of a part of my life as any other person brought up here. Myself and a friend ate here today. We ordered a club sandwich and a hot drink each, the bill was just under £23. The food arrived and was presented well. Then we began to eat. The chicken was fatty process, tasteless and cheap, the bacon was the same, very fatty and cheap tasting. The sandwich was supposed to be a triple decker, it was, but with little inside, very breadie. We left some, it was so unpleasant.It's a shame really, the location is nice, staff are pleasant. I'm thinking they need to pay decent money for their food. It's obvious that they are thinking that they can get away with charging high prices for low quality food.Sorry, we will not be returning and would not recommend the place.
