went for sunday lunch today, food wasn’t great at all, nothing was fresh seemed microwaved really poor for what we paid. kids wouldn’t even eat their chicken nuggets they where brown inside, won’t be going again

Old fashioned, traditional pub with good menu, traditional Thwaites beer and good selection of wines and spirits. Nice pub grub with friendly and attentive staff. We all enjoyed our food which was delicious and piping hot.

The lady boss is very miserable..young lady that served us very nice and pleasant.

I wish we had read the reviews before we went as we would have avoided it. Ordered cafetière of coffee for two , asked which blend we wanted, only to return advising they only had one, it was horrible and weak, we asked to change it, which they did, second one just as bad, pressed the plunger and all coffee spilled out as it had been overfilled, observed by the waitress who said I need to press gently!! Coffee all over table, as she stood watching, I had to ask for a cloth, she returned and handed me a pot towel to clean the table myself!! Third attempt asked for a water and cup of tea. I had caesar salad and requested no Parmesan, to be asked by the waitress what is Parmesan! Lettuce was brown under all the dressing, yuk !! My husband had creamy chorizo and chilli pasta , it was gooey inedible, came with garlic ciabatta which they forgot to bring, got the bill and they had overcharged us. £5 as coffee on bill, we won’t return. Used to be a lovely place to go with good quality food

This used to be a lovely place but has really gone downhill. The building needs tlc to say the lest and on our last two visits the service has been poor. Won’t be going again.

Hab breakfast here 12.8 24 was good value and tasted good and belive me I have my own cafe so no what a breakfast should be like nice friendly staff .

Tengo un trigo intolerancia y no, mientras yo no esperes restaurantes para satisfacer las alergias a los alimentos que no esperan que sean conscientes de los ingredientes utilizados. Tuvimos una cena makeshift adecuado para un niño; 35 que esperaba para una comida adecuada para un crecido. Un amigo vegetariano preocupantemente pedí una hamburguesa vegetariana y luego descubrimos las patatas fritas son fritas en la misma freidora como el pescado por lo tanto toda rota no apropiado para vegetarianos. rápido y amable servicio por el personal del bar, pero ojalá el chef era más consciente de la comida son manipulación y cómo atender a las alergias.

We have visited this pub on numerous occasions over the years, and generally enjoyed it. However, we visited for lunch (Saturday 23rd) and were really disappointed. Firstly we made the mistake of eating in the bar, very cliquey, the ladies working in the bar were far more concerned with the regulars than myself and my wife, but that is fine, we were there for food nothing else ( they also turned over the television while I was watching the football, but hey ho) Now to the food, I don’t know if this place has changed hands/chef/ suppliers or all three, but the food was terrible, the pate that used to be so tasty was awful, the onion rings, were so greasy and tasteless, the cheese and onion pie was stodgy like damp cement, and the coffee like dishwater. The chips, chutney and sauces were very nice though Did we complain, no we did not, the reason being,the ladies behind the bar were completely dis-interested in us, didn’t ask if we enjoyed our food or wanted any dessert, we finished, paid and left, probably never to return, it is a real shame that this place has fallen so far, it was a real gem, WAS!!

This 'establishment is terrible. How it exists as a food & a beverage destination and under the banner of hospitality is a miracle. I cant describe the chaos and mishaps along the way with our experience. The menu didn't come any where near the menu on the web site that originally tempted us too book. We were told "oh yes we know it. is a mistake". To add insult to injury after our very very average meal we asked why the table next to us had what appeared to be a better menu it was explained they had the Christmas menu. Asked why we weren't offered we were told you didn't order it. We showed the them that our menus that didn't have a Christmas menu in it; so then it was just a shrug and "Oh dear, it was just a mistake"!! We were told there was no wine menu with no beer. How on earth this establishment survives and how customers tolerate this substandard service is beyond me and my guests. Even prebooking was terrible the web site assured me they would confirm my booking with in 24 hours and I spent the following day constantly phoning the restaurant to see if my booking was accepted. I could go on as there wasn't single part of our visit that wasn't a shambles. We did feel sorry for on young girl who was completely out of her depth. She was so willing , pleasant and completely untrained. I do hope she finds a better restaurant to work in where her obvious talents for hospitality and be used to a far better advantage. Its no wonder hospitality is struggling to find willing staff when sharks like the owner of the Courtyard Huntley are making a living out of fleecing customers and staff alike. I am perfectly happy to substantiate my review should anyone wish to contact me, especially the owner.

Unfortunately on a busy Sunday rainy lunch only 1 person serving on the bar plus taking orders for food at the same time then having to prepare drinks ....poor girl was run off her feet yet at the same time polite and calm whilst clearly understaffed thats not fair on staff nor customers . We were in a queue to order with 7 in front of me and at least 9 behind me and after a wait of around 12 to 15 minutes gave up the wait and left unserved. If you want the custom please provide your staff with adequate support rather than leave them overwhelmed it was Sunday its a carvery it will always be busy ! Sort your staff levels out to match your demand rather than have customers leave disappointed thats not to say the staff on duty didnt do their best just not enough to meet customer demand, due to company cutbacks possibly? On plus side did manage to find another place for lunch less hectic and adequately staffed not too far away....sort your staff levels this was a great place for family sunday lunch and we will swerve for a while. Such a shame as the carvery always served great roasts at a great price.

Superb setting by the river and easy access from the the M6. The menu offers a wide choice of food to suit everyone with a very good specials board

Went in here today, kids still in pub till late hours. Presume landladies. Running and screaming everywhere. While she stood at bar with what looked like wine. Shameful
