We were mat at the door by a young man wearing black T shirt and black casual nylon joggers, extremely unprofessional. We asked for table for 2 and was promptly told sit anywhere! The young man handed us menus then propped himself at bar. No smile no greeting from any of the staff. I ordered a club sandwich, and was very disappointed, it came uncut slapped on the plate 3 layers overflowing! How on earth you were supposed to eat it I have no idea. I had to unravel each layer and hack through the thick layer of toast, which was so unpractical. The tomato was so thick, the lettuce was also very bulky. When another waiter came to ask if everything alright, I told him I was not happy with the dish. No response and he just walked away! I ate a quarter of what was on my plate paid and left. The restaurant was untidy, dirty, a mess. The toilets were also filthy, messy and needed a good servicing.

We were visiting the area again and thought we’d return to Huntleys for coffee as we had always enjoyed the coffee and icecream when we went before. What a difference this time. We waited nearly half an hour for our coffee and they weren’t overly busy. When the coffee arrived the waitress told us which was the caramel latte as that was my choice. My husband took a a mouthful of his coffee and almost spat it back out. She had mixed the two drinks up and the caramel one was given to my husband. When we swapped and I got to taste the latte it was so loaded with caramel it was too much even for me. My husband gave me a little of his coffee to take the taste away. The large cups were of different sizes so they couldn’t both have been large. As the coffee wasn’t hot either we left disappointed and dissatisfied with our visit. We won’t be returning that’s for sure, what a let down, and £8 wasted.

Been before a couple of times and enjoyed the food. Didn't get a chance this time, wasn't that busy. Waiter showed us to our table, didn't take a drinks order, was told it was table service - waited and waited and waited some more nobody showed. Gave up after 20 minutes and left.

Don’t think you can shop here to help a local business with local produce. I was horrified to see the packs of chicken in the butchers were ‘EU’ & the bacon ‘EU pork, cured in the UK’ 🤯 AVOID.

Met a friend for breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, maybe an even a bit too fast. Anyway. There were 2 of us and they got our orders wrong. I wanted no butter with my eggs on toast , the waitress said 'no problem' , it came with lots of butter on. I ordered a large coffee, got small. My friend ordered a small breakfast, they gave her a large one. Went to look in the farm shop afterwards, it was really depressing, seemed very run down and sparsely stocked , like it was being run down to close down, it wasn't a nice experience.

I just cannot understand any bad reviews, We were met by a lovely young woman with gorgeous hair and complexion. I was amazed to find diabetic and keto appropriate food for me on the menu. I enjoyed chicken on a cauli cheddar mash with veg and my OH had possibly the largest lasagne he has ever been served, it was hugs and he said very tasty too. Another lovely server cleared our table and had a wee chat with us, so nice! What can I say, wish we were local, alas not. Or we would be regulars!

Came for lunch to meet my friend and her daughter on the first day of half term. I arrived a little later than my friend so she had asked to order when I got there. I had been there around 15-20 minutes and still no one had approached to take drinks or food orders. We had both made eye contact several times with a young man at the coffee machine to no avail. I saw an older lady and a young lady both server's talking next to our table and asked if there was someone available to serve us. The young lady came straight over. The older lady took exception to my request so when she brought our drinks she made a point to bash them down on the table. The food was not particularly good and I felt the wait for it was long, but then I am 8 months pregnant and my friends daughter was 4 and becoming restless and hungry. There was an older man who interacted nicely with her daughter, encouraged her to eat and asked her was ice cream she would like. She was getting up the nerve to place her order herself and he was being kind and patient and the older woman abruptly interrupted and told him he needed to go and do something else. He looked shocked and unsure what to do and said he would be back shortly. I felt this was such a strange thing to do, to interrupt a little girl. We got up to pay as of course no one was coming to see to us. The young girl was serving us and the older woman came to say she needed to get to where I was standing at the till. She couldn't have found any more ways to be rude and make us feel uncomfortable. Of course we won't be returning!

The food was good but the service was excellent. Well done to the waiter Alistair. I was here with a friend, not been before. We would say the food was good but the young waiter who served us deserves a mention.

Four former youth service colleagues, av age 70 or so. Coffee & some butties! Freddie looked after us royally! Good welcome& service!

Time this place got rid of the old (manager) and got new. Absolute shambles pity cause its a lovely little cafe with huge potential. WONT be visiting again any time soon.

The service was very slow we had sat down for 25 minutes before we got a drink in our hand. The gammon was very chewy with a large bit of fat attached. I have been to Huntleys many times over the years and never a complaint, I feel it has gone downhill shame.

As has happened before in this establishment, coffees were ordered and took half an hour to arrive. Although a table had been booked on our visit last month, and we were asked then if we would like the Christmas menu, today we were told we should have pre-booked the Christmas meal. I was under the impression that we had! The beef sandwiches two of us ordered came as hot beef on ciabatta, which neither of us had requested. Overall, we came away feeling somewhat dissatisfied and unloved. The same group of us go every month, and have been doing so for years, as it suits us geographically, but there is no recognition of us as 'regulars'. Overall, some good events of food and service, but could do much, much better.

For a lunch venue, this place is great again. I had a beef and caramelised onion ciabatta with gravy, salad, coleslaw and horseradish sauce (hot). The beef was melt in the mouth scrummy. The waiter was attentive but not interrupting all the time. The restaurant was warm, not hot and the ambience of the whole place was pleasant. A great lunch and I'll be returning very soon.

Had lunch ordered beef sandwich and chicken BLT very poor quality. Food very dry and no taste. Salad looked not very appetising. Left most of my food. When food was collected they asked how it was. Explained it was very dry. No offer of apology. Will definitely not visit again and would certainly not recommend

Staff were lovely and helpful couldn’t fault one bit. Unfortunately the food was average. My southern fried chicken didn’t look homemade at all. It seemed like it had been cooked from frozen. The side salad looked and tasted as though it had been shop bought in a bag. Overall didn’t seem good value for money today. Quite disappointed as previous visits here were a completely different experience. Food seemed to be and presented with such good quality. Wont be rushing back I’m sorry to say :-(

I went today ( 6/10/2023) with a friend for lunch. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. We both had Prawn Sandwiches which were delicious and generous. The Coffee was excellent. No complaints at all.

We went as a family of 3 for a light lunch a the whole thing is a shambles. We were greeted by a young guy who couldn’t decide what to do with us or where to seat us - bar the fact there were plenty of empty tables. After a short time we sat down and we’re given menus. We were then left on our own for 20 minutes without being able to order any food or drink. We finally grabbed someone, ordered and then watched as the woman behind the bar disappeared for 20 minutes and no drinks appeared. We chased up a waiter who was walking up and down complaining about how hot it was, who then had to double check our drinks and said he would chase them up… this happened 3 times with 3 different waiters who all had the wrong orders. It’s not that hard to get a lemonade and a blackcurrant cordial! We finally got our drinks and proceeded to wait another 20 minutes being ignored in what was now an emptying restaurant and we were the only table with no food (2 sandwiches and a burger) until it got to the point we left with a very hungry and disappointed 5 year old. Waiting for 40 minutes for a drink isn’t even amateur stuff - it’s just bad service. They can’t say they were overly busy/rushed - there were 5 members of waiting/service staff for around 15 table. The ‘manager’ behind the bar couldn’t care less and the other members of staff are clearly not waiting on staff but kids doing a weekend job. Save your time/money and go to a decent restaurant.

Went for brunch and to then visit the farm shop. We took a table and waited for attention. Coffee was ordered and we waited again. In due course coffee appeared and we ordered breakfast. We then had a long wait, with nothing seeming being done by the few staff present. In due course a member of staff appeared & we called him over to enquire about our food. About 10 minutes later our food arrived… and found that black pudding and bacon were incinerated and the poached egg both crashed onto our plates. The food was inedible and we called a staff member over, and soon the burnt offerings were replaced. We were told it was “someone’s first day in the kitchen”. But who was supervising the decision to present meals in that poor condition. In the end the food was tolerable, but service poor. And quality control lacking. We also noticed that tables around the premises were cleared but not cleaned down. We sought a better experience in the farm shop. Mistake: one person was trying to run the till, cooked meats & cheese counter and look after stocking shelves (which were worryingly bare). We gave up and left, in sorrow rather than indignation - this establishment used to be a fabulous venue for decent food and good quality products. We hope that the proprietors take the business in hand: train staff and set quality standards.

Not visited the place for a while, but met up with friends there yesterday for lunch at their arrangement. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT !! The whole place was a shambles. Empty shelves in the `farm shop` and what stock they did have was completely uninspiring and set against a backdrop of shrivelled up fruit, faded veg and wilting pot plants. So sad to see after what the place used to be !! Once inside the restaurant things didn`t get any better. The tables and menus were all coated in a sticky film - the food took an absolute AGE to arrive - and when it did eventually reach us, for the main part it was inedible. Absolutely awful. Will not be coming back. Another sad loss of a once good place to eat and you do wonder what the plans are for the place in the future ?

Heard about this place from a friend and looked it up online. Decided to stop on our way to Clitheroe for a breakfast. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was amazing - nothing like some of the reviews I’ve since seen on Trip Advisor. I’d definitely come back and have breakfast again.

Nice food but needs restaurant management. Staff need some direction as organisation was poor. Went for Sunday lunch but staff did not know whether they were serving Sunday roast or not. Meals came out of order - starter came after main course. Food and drink was good. Farm Shop next door was not the same. It is so sad to see it as it is at moment.

Went to the market to get something for Sunday lunch but the place was full of old out of date produce. The bakery shelves were empty and deli bereft of any food. Decided to get a coffee. Directed upstairs via an awful spiral staircase. Ordered 2 coffees after watching two of the staff trying to make ice creams with one scoop for 5-minutes. Finally order was taken what followed was painful to watch. It took nearly 25-minutes for the 1st coffee to arrived luke warm. And another 10 minutes for the second. Sent mine back waited another 10-minutes for the replacement. Witnessing a young person with obviously zero dexterity no training no management no help trying to fulfill a barista role brought me out in a tick. Left fearing for this place’s future it was shambolic. Clearly nowhere near enough staff. At least train the ones you do have please.

Cafe stops serving at 2.30 although it was full of customers and the market food hall which had a board advertising baked potatoes ect, said they were not serving either Restaurant was open butI wasn't looking for a restaurant meal just a light lunch There was only a place open for ice cream and takeaway coffee On my previous visit the cafe was closed as there was no hot water Go but don't count on getting a bite to eat!

Very very slow service. ....ordered drinks took over 25mins to get them and had to ask 4 them we had ordered an apple juice but we were told they had none left yet another table managed to get 1. .... the tables were very sticky.... I had the chicken Tikka Naan bread it was very spicy and the juice had seeped into the bread making it very wet and difficult to eat.... the food was ok and chippy chips were gd..... I wud return but hope for better service as it took over40 mins to get food...

Today I had "the sandwich of dreams" here, I ve never had a prawn sandwich so fresh and so full of prawns. All of our food was fantastic, the quality of the meat and the fish we had was amazing, it was all cooked to perfection We don't live local but will definitely be trekking down the motorway to re visit this absolute gem.

This was our first time eating out since the start of lock down, and I was so pleased at the standard of the restaurant. We felt very protected and even visiting the toilets felt a safe with everything on hand needs for cleaning. We will be making a return visit.

My first of experience of visiting a restaurant since lock-down and it was a positive one. Temperature checked on arrival, contact details recorded - friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed a lovely pot of tea and an excellent bacon sandwich. Tables well spaced out and cleaned regularly, loos were clean with sanitising gel and cleaning products available- well organised. Well done to the young team who served me- thank you!

have been a couple of times since the virus as it is very clean and I felt safe there, but today, I warned my friend that the chicken and beef sub rolls are enormous. Funny, but today we did the government eat out scheme and they arrived half the size as the last 2 times I have been there!! A bit cheeky seeing that the government are paying half and they only give you half!! Also, I paid an extra 75p for sweet potato fries which I didnt get and had to remind them. It would only cost me 75p for a whole bag of them! But disappointed today to say the least. I know these companies are having a hard time but I will think again where I go next time. A bit cheeky!!

Admittedly my review is from visits with my Wife pre-Covid- probably around Jan/Feb year, but I've just come across Huntleys on Trip Advisor.We normally both order the full English breakfasts, although ask for one or two minor alterations because of food allergies- e.g. extra bacon to replace the sausage etc.The first couple of times we visited, we asked the staff if it would be OK to swap things around as I describe and they were very happy to do so.Sadly staff members are very inconsistent- Some couldn't do more, whilst others do the literal minimum their job requires them to do- with the older lady who took our order refusing to take any sort of requests from us, so we ended up leaving and making our way to Checks and Grays in Blackburn. Only good thing to mention is that I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry milkshakes on our first visit.

Hadn't been in ages so thought we would give a try. All safety measures that were put in place made us feel very comfortable and Abbie who served us was very friendly and professional

After using the takeaway service all through lockdown, from the takeaway menu posted via Facebook fhk@huntleys, and it always being fantastic, the food and the staff! We were shocked when we collected our weekly order this week 23rd July, to find that the prices has gone up to the table service menu prices, and we were not advised of this when we rang the order through, and more so, the salmon, tuna and prawn salad, has no salmon, as they had run out, despite us ordering this 2 hrs in advance. We were also not offered the 20% takeaway discount! We did contact them direct after by phone, but got no-where, apart from we were told we could drive back down to get the 20% discount in cash if we wanted, but they could not refund it to my card, they had no problem taking it off my card! Would def not recommend or use again!

The food was absolute rubbish. It had been microwaved to absolute death, the cheese and onion pie was so hard that I could knock someone out with it, the chips were well overdone and the sausage was extremely rubbery. It was absolutely disgusting even my dog didn’t want to eat it, I do not recommend coming here, it the worst takeaway I have ever had and I’ve had some bad ones

Visited today for a meal with my husband, little boy and 4 month old baby. The meal itself was very nice and good service. On the downside the baby changing facilities were absolutely disgusting, pee on the floor and the baby changing table was the dirtiest I've ever come across, I opted to change my baby on my lap. Given that there is a Blackpool and North Lancashire baby friendly project poster behind the door, I would say it's far from baby friendly. My 4 year old went to the mens, he slipped on the floor on what I'm hoping was a lot of water. Definitely won't be visiting there again.
