Really good lunch would go again

Booked into The Brown Hare for the first time this evening, we were greeted by the lovely Fabi, who took us to our table and presented menus and got our drinks sorted. Once we got our drinks, the lovely Evelyn took our orders. Our food came in timely fashion, Chef Adam, our food was delicious!!! As was our pudding. The place was clean, the atmosphere was friendly, the food was well presented, moist and tasty. Fabi, Evelyn and Adam, thank you! We’ll most definately be back!! x

Drinks too expensive! The staff are good, we enjoyed the food and the pub itself was welcoming however after asking for a large glass of red wine I just cannot get over the price of it. I didn't realise until after we left that I was charged £12.25 for one glass of red wine and it didn't even taste that nice Unfortunately I can't return with those prices Overall 4 star if not for the price of the drinks

Lovely quiet meal where dogs are welcome, we sat outside as it was a lovely evening. But staff appeared to struggle finding tables so service was slow.

Popped in for a quick meal, great service, really good food and friendly staff especially Joseph.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was shocking! Were placed our order and the waitress had to come back to us 5 times for 2 people in our party to change their order due to lack of food. When the food eventually arrived, The starters were over cooked, we asked for no bbq sauce on 2 of the burgers they arrived with bbq sauce on the beetroot pattys were rock hard snd a single leaf of lettuce and cold with few fries definitely not worth the price they are on the menu for. The other two meals were dry, cold, not what they order meat wise, one tiny stuffing ball, Yorkshire pudding hard and swimming in grease inside. Very disappointing meals. The manager did take off one of the meals from the bill. Will not recommend The Brown Hare until food quality improves

I had 3 trio roast dinner, beef was great, other meats were very dry, yorkie was great, roasties were okay, vegetables well done. Husband had steak and pie option- the steak was over done qnd tough rather than medium rare as requested, but the staff dealt with it well and offered replacement but they were out of steaks so refunded instead, he liked the pie and sides though. My son had the hunters schnitzel when he loved and my daughter had the beef roast dinner and agreed it was good too. Overall would possibly go again

Welcomed at the door and promptly shown to our reserved table and offered the opportunity to order drinks. After time to peruse the menu our waitress took our food order and the food arrived in good time. It was delicious. We both had Sunday roasts my wife had Pork and I had Turkey. Beautiful free form Yorkshire puddings of immense size set the scene with delicious meats veg and potatoes beneath. Lovely.

The brown hare was so welcoming to our family and dog. They have some fantastic events that are so magical for families and the food and drink was spot on too. The staff were so kind just loved every minute

Too few healthy options on the menu. Not the best beer selection and it is expensive overall.

Celebrate my sons birthday with a party seven the meal was dismal, cold rice for the curry, 3 burgers stated crispy bacon not one meal of macoroni potion that not would not suffice a 3 year old, chips not fries was portions 2 many for 1 & not enough for other meals,al meals cold won't be coming back Also bar staff cant pour a pint of Guinness with a touch of black & I mean a touch of black more like a pint of ribeana had to return itn not even considered to go there for a drink this was at 6 o'clock in evening not even busy,poor very poor, but I don't think this will make any difference to my comments until more customers make same remarks. You asked what we ordered only what's we ordered not what we realy ordered

Hannah and Lucina severed us today as we came in for lunch. Excellent service, was a good chat aswell, food was brilliant told the apprentice, head chef and a lad called dean was cooking. My compliments to them 👍

Came for a quick bite to eat, was sat down within minutes and had our drinks delivered right to the table via the app. The little man with glasses had excellently service, was caring and very demure. The tall man with Black Hair behind the bar was well knowledged and had a good chat with us. The food was excellent, tender meat and excellent flavour. Will be returning!

Visited The Brown Hare today for Mother’s Day and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The roast beef was hands down the best we’ve ever had—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. My mum was over the moon! Also have to mention the stunning blonde girl behind the bar—super friendly, gorgeous, and made the whole visit even more enjoyable. Service with a smile and a great atmosphere all around. Already planning our next visit!

Poor service, it took an hour for just some ice cream, I don't care if it was busy they could've at least informed, will not be coming again, the staff were messing around behind the bar, very unprofessional, however roast dinner was good

Food was not good. My partner had to send her food back as the rice wasn’t cooked. My brownie came with watery ‘sauce’ that just tasted like cocoa powder mixed with water. It was cold also. The crumble was just very jelly like and the custard was stiff. Service was very good, handled well. Wonderful lovely staff.

Had an amazing Sunday Lunch at the Brown Hare, Tried the Trio of Roasts, and it was absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked meats, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and rich, flavourful gravy. The portion size was generous and the sides were just as impressive. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better , Great value for money and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Highly highly recommend. Special shoutouts to Beth, Alana & Joe.

Customer service on arrival was excellent, warm and friendly welcome. Even though the place was very busy staff were speaking to customers and assuring them of the progress of their order. Food was of a high quality and good portion sizes. Parents with 2 teenage daughters and there was something to suit all tastes incl. vegetarian. Will definitely be back.

We booked last minute and the manager couldn’t do enough for us. Our waitress Beth was very attentive and made sure we were well looked after. The food was delicious and served fresh and hot. Will definitely come back.

Went for breakfast only to discover they didn’t actually have it on the menu, however Sacha was more than accommodating. He put together a full English breakfast for us, with a side of hash browns! Really great service and good value for money food. Definitely recommend.

Big shout out to Hannah and Joe. Managed to squeeze us in for both food and the quiz at the last minute and were brilliant with us all evening. Thanks again!

Went for sunday lunch, beef was ok not pink like we were told it would be, veg lovely and huge Yorkshire pudding. Only a handful of people there but lady behind the bar was rushed of her feet, trying to do 3 jobs at once. Hubby disappointed as no hawkstone larger although it's advertised as having it. Service very slow but think this was down to lack of staff

My wife and I took our son and partner and our two grandchildren yesterday and were very disappointed. The food was terrible, I ordered the chicken and ham hock pie with mash and vegetables ; the vegetables were were cold and there were very few of them including a limp half carrot , a kale stalk with no leaf on it that was brown in places, a kale leaf about the size of half a credit card, and five or six limp green beans, the gravy was a poor effort too. The pie looked like a cheap frozen item that had been heated up in a microwave . Our daughter in law made no attempt at her chicken burger. My wife’s veg Thai red curry was awful, not even resembling anything Thai. The grandchildren had lukewarm macaroni cheese that stuck together in lumps. It was our son’s birthday so tried not to make a fuss that might have spoiled the occasion. To anybody considering a visit we would strongly recommend reconsidering, this place looks great from the outside but was not a good experience. The Camembert starter was the only redeeming thing about the meal , however , the mains were terrible and the food was overpriced also.

Bit pricey on beer. did not eat here but was busy very dog friendly in the bar area no dogs in the restaurant side

Staff with attitude & 90 minute wait & food didn’t appear, went to Burger King. This used to be good, but going down hill fast. Shame.

Came for the first time. My wife has been before, Absolutely disgusting place. Had my wife stood at the booking in desk for 20 minutes. No one came. She gave up and joined me at the bar. Where it took 25 minutes to get service. Gave up on food. And went to takeaway. All tables dirty. Short staffed. I’m not giving my hard earned money to be treated like cattle. Too many dogs in. The staff that were working didn’t seam to care especially the one and only person behind the bar full of tattoos. Never again. The point where I had enough was when I stood there for 25 minutes to get served and then he just said who’s next. If he’s so thick he couldn’t see the que that had built up he should ent being the job. And The manager needs sacking. The place is a joke

The food is lovely and of good quality, it's more the service that let's you down, we have been in a few times over the past few weeks as we like coming to the quiz. But everytime we have ordered food, the service is so slow and inattentive! When we came in on valentines night it wasn't even that busy and service was very slow to the point where the poor table behind us had there main meal plates on their table finished when we sat down at 8pm and then they still had them sat there the whole time through our starters and mains and when our desserts came and no member of staff even went to their table.

Very good lunch here today with much appreciated discount voucher. We were well looked after by Joe!

Visited the brown hare Saturday night and the service was brilliant, the food and new menu are excellent too couldn’t fault it will be back soon!

What a lovely place to eat and have a drink in. The fire makes it so lively and warm. Can't wait to visit again soon and will be recommending to friends and family

Sunday lunch, the trio of roasts was a great choice. Turkey, Beef and Pork loin, with great crackling and a perfect Yorkshire pudding whilst in Lancashire! Lovely touch too that they had for the dogs a clean bowl and water bottle in baskets on the way in. Compliments to the kitchen staff Sean, Sammy and Dean. We will definitely be back.

The staff provided excellent service and the food was exceptional. While we encountered an issue with some unclean cutlery, the staff responded promptly, offering sincere apologies and immediate assistance. Their attentiveness extended to ensuring our satisfaction, proactively offering additional gravy and sauces.

Took the mother in law for lunch. Staff were brilliant offering smaller portion for her as she doesn’t eat a lot. We were greeted by the host who was really friendly and our server Joe was brilliant at his job. Very happy and helpful. Food was way above average for a pub I’d say. Really good Would go back for sure

Great Sunday Roast yesterday, the staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was lovely and big portions. I don't know if this place has been taken over or is under new management perhaps but this visit the vibe was much better than our recent visits

The lady with purple hair and piercings was absolutely incredible, we came for my daughters 9th birthday and she honestly made her birthday so special. Spending time with us to engage in propper conversations out of the basic 'how's your food/ anything else'. My daughter couldn't wait to tell her friends this morning about her new friend at The Brown Hare. Very sociable and very friendly. She went above and beyond for us and made my 3 kids feel very safe and happy! Thankyou so much to her shes amazing- I'm so sorry i forgot your name but we will be back 7th Feb. Only thing I can say I was gutted about was the chicken and chorizo kebab but that's because I was expecting 2 kebabs not one, however food tasted incredible I just expected there to be 2 kebabs now 1 x

I visited this Sunday, with my partner and his parents and the food was good, we were greeted by a very friendly waiter, with purple hair who gave us excellent service and great conversation. It made the experience really lovely and we look forward to coming back

I ordered a turkey Sunday Roast. The vegetables were lovely but the 'turkey' was absolutely disgusting. It was like eating cardboard. I broke my front tooth biting through it. I didn't complain as i was embarrassed at the tooth gap. We just finished and left. We won't be going back there in a hurry

We have been many times and will continue to do so. Always friendly welcome by the manager and staff polite and friendly when taking our order and serving. Food always great quality and decent sized portions and usually quick. Prices very reasonable always.

The food was really good and came quickly. What let it down massively was the dirty table. It was sticky and obviously hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. Great service though.

Went fir Christmas day. 1 of our party has coeliac and was catered for throughout. Tables wiped, cutlery changed, reassurance about the preparation of food. Fantastic service, staff were wonderful, especialy Abbie and Hannah and the bar staff. Christmas dinner was absolutely stunning, couldn't fault it. Will definitely be returning.

Went out on christmas eve for our family meal to here. Table was booked for 18:45, this was a pre-booked meal that was paid for in advance. The drinks got served fairly quickly but we had to wait until gone 20:00 for our main course to arrive. The server had great energy and was lovely, but will not be coming back here again after this experience

We visited the brown hare tonight 17/12/2024. The staff were very welcoming and professional. The food was great and delivered in great time. We will definitely be visiting again
