Went here on a whim after some sales people came to my work to drop off some vouchers and oh my goodness I'm so glad I did! Food was great (and some great veggie options) and the service was amazing🤩 especially the pink haired person, Faby I think their name was, couldn't do enough for us so helpful and genuinely kind, so excited to come back at some point 💕

Food was very nice, price wasn't too expensive either

Ordered a children’s sunday lunch last sunday, food was cooked to perfection and the portion size even for a kids meal was spot on.

This was our first visit to the Brown Hare but it definitely won’t be the last! Everything from the friendly welcome, the excellent service to the superb food made it a memorable experience on our wedding anniversary. The little welcome box for the dog was a brilliant touch too. Your staff are fantastic and we will be visiting again very soon!

Located just off the main bypass Penwortham Way (A59) next to a garage and Booths super market. Great staff , small but adequate food menu with some weekday specials, decent food and good drinks selection.

They really need to improve the Yorkshire Puddings, which were flat and undercooked. The waitress told us that the chef/cook/microwaver said they would be the same if replaced. I would not dare serve them to my guests!

Great meal celebrating a birthday yesterday with friendly and attentive staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

Thank you to Adam and Dean for the perfectly battered fish goujons! I took my elderly parents to the Brown Hare for a meal today (30th June). My Mum loves fish but only if it’s very lightly batters and not overcooked.. the goujons were perfect. She loved her meal and it made my day to see both my parents happy. Also the lovely helpful bubbly bartender with red hair (I’m so sorry but I can’t remember her name!) makes our visit super special each time she’s on duty.

This was a prize I won for a two course meal for four. Sacha, the Manager, let me know who was great in communication & organising the visit. I went with my husband & two daughters. We were well looked after by the assistant manager. We all had a scrumptious starter & three had Steak Americano off the grills menu, I had the Lamb shank! Me & my husband has dined here quite a lot usually for the steaks, always great food.

Loved every second of it and the chef Adam yeah his cooking is so good had my mouth watering and everything 10/10 would come back just for Adam’s cooking it was amazing loved it! Give Adam a raise

There was a bunch of lads spoilt it for my wife and I they where loud and obnoxious f ing it a c ing it all in front of customers and kids I asked the manager to do something about it he went over to speak to them it worked for about 5 mins then it started again should they have been shown the door its unacceptable for this in a restaurant I was very upset about it.

Lovely venue. Table staff member Fabi was wonderful. Excellent worker, very friendly and kept the kids entertained with her playful attitude. She couldn't have been more helpful. Also Adam the kitchen staff was great. We turned up slightly late and he kindly kept the kitchen open for us. All in all, excellent meal, will definitely be back.

Today's visit was exceptional service from Sacha and the team. Very generous portions with the squid the highlight. Friendly staff too.

Popped in on way to the pretty muddy event in Preston. Accommodated our need to be quick as needed be at Moor Park within a set time frame. Kitchen opened early to allow us time to eat and have time to settle before event. Thank you to all the team.

Really good pub food with excellent staff and superb service

They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The breakfast for the armed forces breakfast club are pretty good and reasonably priced . The sausages just need to come a bit more browned as they look undercooked but they’re not. They’re isn’t anything you can’t ask for either. Great morning had by us all

Booked into The Brown Hare for the first time this evening, we were greeted by the lovely Fabi, who took us to our table and presented menus and got our drinks sorted. Once we got our drinks, the lovely Evelyn took our orders. Our food came in timely fashion, Chef Adam, our food was delicious!!! As was our pudding. The place was clean, the atmosphere was friendly, the food was well presented, moist and tasty. Fabi, Evelyn and Adam, thank you! We’ll most definately be back!! x

Attended family bingo night for cash for kids charity, great atmosphere, great good, fantastic prizes - well done to the team on putting on such a good community event. Will definitely be back if there's another event 🙂

Good hot food. Reasonably priced. Excellent service and food came quickly. Nice surroundings and good outside area. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Won't hesitate to go back. Give it a try as it's a little gem.

First time coming to the brown hare & the food was amazing! Didn’t have to wait long at all, would definitely recommend! Also heard they do quiz night & other evenings, the atmosphere was nice & relaxed while we were there. Thank you to the staff for making our first time enjoyable!

Had a lovely meal with my Mym and our dog Koko. Food was amazing and even better dogs are made to feel so welcome. The doggy pack was such a surprise! Water, treats and a blanket and then a sausage dinner ! Would definitely come again. Luke and Fabi were the most friendly attentive staff and are a credit to the place.

Staff are lovely.we used to go once a week for a steak but don't anymore.The company that owns it slashed the menu .my steak was hiding behind a baked potato.The other half of it was on another customers plate across from me !The chips were yuck and not like they used to be.

Fab staff. FABI in particular welcomed us from the minute we walked in and accommodated some late comers in our parry.

We had a lovely family birthday celebration. Fabi was great making sure everyone had good service even though half our party was late and we ended up having two sittings. Thank you Fabi.

Came with family and all got a roast, seemed pricey but once food arrived the portions and taste made it reasonable, veg was spot on. If service was based on only speed, it would be marked much lower but it seemed there was only one young girl working (pregnant?) and for one person on their own it probably couldn’t get much quicker. This looked to be the case the time we were there and looked to be doing the bar and taking our food and orders. Service was impeccable though and still took the time to make younger daughter feel special. Not put us off coming again but may need more people on a busy Sunday

Came in tonight for a few drinks. There was an excellent quiz on and the staff were amazing. Special mention to Hannah, not sure if she's the landlord, she was really attentive and remembered our drinks everytime we came to the bar. Will be back next week, if the wife allows.

No problem with food, and staff were friendly and welcoming. Drinks orders taken and after a long wait food was ordered. The food came and was enjoyed, then wanted dessert but waitress never came in sight again for a long time, but the place was busy. Eventually desserts were ordered, but took a very long time to arrive and then only by asking another server about the delay. We left to pay the bill immediately after eating as we had been there for 2 and a half hours already and had two restless children with us. Hopelessly slow service.

Brilliant evening at the Brown Hare tonight; we had family up from London so was wonderful that we all enjoyed a wonderful time together. Great food; brill atmosphere but OUTSTANDING service. Shout out to Bethany that could not have done enough for us. Really special especially considering the restaurant was busy and we were a large party. Highly recommend 🥳

We love it here and often come with 3 generations- there’s something for everyone and the service is always excellent. Shout out to Fabi who was awesome today!

We visit often and never had problems. But this visit was awful. Food was cold when it arrived and then food wasn't cooked properly. Individual people had to eat alone. The staff apologised and said there was a chef down . But didn't make up for rhe £98.00 sent on and awful meal .

Just been for a family meal here our 2nd time in the last few months 18 of us...we were very well accommodated. Table was ready as we arrived nice and spacious at the back so didn't feel we had to keep the kids sat down through our entire time there, which is always a bonus as 3 of them are 3 and under. The waitresses and waiters were spot on very thorough and polite and the food was exceptional. Everyone was happy and the only reason for some food being left was purely because we were stuffed as there was so much. All in all a fantastic afternoon thank you we shall be sure to return .

Extremely friendly welcome, lovely food, service and food were both excellent. We were well cared for and time frame for drinks and food courses was brilliant - even though we were a large table of 9 with 2 children! Very clean and tidy too! Couldn’t fault anything at all, great atmosphere and experience.

Great food, great service and great staff. The manager and Hannah our server were very attentive and helpful, always making sure we we're ok for drinks etc Everywhere was spotlessly clean, great range of beers and the lasagne was the best I've had.

Lovely, friendly staff. Cosy, rustic atmosphere. Dog friendly with cute little boxes of blankets, treats and water bowls. Premises was spotless and well-maintained. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, highly recommend the handmade kebabs and chicken tikka. Huge portion, staff kindly provided a to-go box. Great experience!

Service was very slow despite not having many customers. Asked for pudding menu and no one came to take order despite restaurant being virtually empty. Had to get up to find someone. Food was good except for 2 of us had pudding which were supposed to be...''Chocolate brownie, Belgian chocolate truffle ice cream, vanilla pod ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate flake'' but wasn't served in a sundae glass but was in a dish and consisted of chocolate ice cream with squirty cream and a few bits of brownie thrown on top....there was no whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and no flake. Another chocolate brown pudding consisted of the smallest chocolate brownie I'd ever seen. The rest of the food was good but the pudding were disappointing. I think we could have forgiven the slow service if the food had been 1st class but it wasn't. We would normally leave a tip but didn't this time.

Food quality poor bruised crushed potatoes small portion of fish lack of sauce making the texture dry. Restricted choice on menu won’t be in a rush to return

So I went for the X2 courses for £15 pp, I had the Calamari and fries which when it arrived I thought it was a child portion, which you can tell as the Tartar sauce pot was small but the fries were nowt..... So when I asked the girl serving she said it's what Marston's portion size is..... Sounds like a cop out or Marston's how are you surviving getting away with this kind of Micky take..... ☹️ Not sure how to reply here but how do you propose to make this right?......

From arriving with an elderly family member we were given a great table which suited her mobility. The staff were really helpful, especially the manager and the food and service were excellent.

Really sorry for this, but our experience at the weekend was dire. We had to cancel week before due to family illness & we were looking forward to our meal out. Not up to usual standards. My calamari was dry & bouncy, leek & potato pie uninspiring, my Grandson's chicken, chips & beans dry & unappealing. At £8.25 for a glass of wine, would have expected something of SOME quality. Not a good result I'm afraid. Miss the rotisserie chicken! No crayons available for my Grandson to colour in????

Went for a dinner on Friday night, got fish and chips and lasagna. The food was okay, it wasnt amazing but decent dor the price. Pleasant staff made up for it, considering how busy it was they wouldnt stop making sure that everyone is happy and tables are full.

Was in last night (13 March 2024) and the food was superb. New menu is top notch. I chose the wrapped chicken with sauté potatoes. For afters I had the brownie with salted caramel ice cream covered in chocolate. Both were spot on. The atmosphere was good and, as ever, service was top notch. And with 30% off mains it's a bargain. Cheers.

We have visted today and the service was brilliant by Luke & Hannah. Food was lovely, fresh and hot. We will 100% visit again
