Terrible service had to wait 16 minutes for drinks to arrive via the app and then only when I complained, the app said 3 minute wait time. Absolutely awful service

Another wetherspoons pub food ok drinks well priced. Only problem was some very rowdy men at table near us had to move because of language and we had our 6 year old granddaughter with us. Otherwise ok we try to find a wetherspoons pub wherever we are.

Great food and drink choices - very cheap place for drinks. The atmosphere is lacking a little bit as the lights are too bright and there is no music at all however, it is the same at all wetherspoons so that is to be expected.

It's been a while since we've brought the tribe to a Wetherspoons for breakfast. We made the 11am cut off just moments before and managed to find a table. It wasn't clean but we asked and it was wiped down. The food served was more than adequate. In my opinion it's a huge step up from a McDonald's but it worked out similar in price. What is the not to like about that? Kids weren't left feeling hungry later. I enjoyed the fact that they're using a knife and fork to eat. The whole experience felt like a family time well spent together. It's a no brainer that we'll be back again.

As always good food and good selection of craft ales pleasant surroundings very busy place.

The short blonde woman that was on shift as deputy manager on Tuesday 2nd April is the rudest cow I’ve ever come across. Dont go here if you want friendly service. Completely ruined our night and she shouldn’t be working in a customer facing role. Sort your staff out at this location. Even the other girl serving us was rude.

Staff are very friendly and service was excellent

Seems to have declined somewhat since our last visit. Looks like it could do with a good clean. Went for breakfast, bacon was hard on one plate and extremely fatty on the other, toast was warmed stale bread and eyes you'd take an eye out if thrown. Staff looked fed up. Hoping this negative visit is a one off as we do enjoy a Spoons breakfast.

A typical spoons pub busy, cheap beer all kinds of people I mean not horrendous but maybe not my kinda place not bad for a quick drink.

We both visited this wetherspoon whilst exploring the surrounding area, we found the staff to be pleasant and attentive, and enjoyed browsing the theme of the decor, it also has an outdoor area to sit out on the sunnier days, the only downside we the toilets were upstairs except for the disabled which were on the ground level.

Not been in the Leyland lion for a very long time. It was cheap ale, clean and the young man behind the bar was very cheerful, and had a good sense of humour. What else can you ask for 🙂

First visit here very nice friendly staff nice surroundings food you get what you pay for remember it's pub food reasonably priced good value for money

£25 spent on food, it's 9am and it's all cold. What a waste of money

Always busy whenever we call in the evening. Prices are cheap and service at the bar isn't too slow. Cheap and cheerful is an apt description. Tables can take a while to be cleaned but staff are helpful when asked and it is a good place for a cheap night out.

This is the place to go if you want affordable food with good service and a lively atmosphere.

Typical wetherspoons to be fair. I've starred it but on some nights could be lower. Usually only 1 person on the bar and on occasion quite a wait. Staffing is definitely not what it should be. Food is nice but standard for spoons, but it really does have a good atmosphere whenever you go in.

Usual Weatherspoons, but by far the busiest pub visited in Leyland that day...says something.

Great pub for a good breakfast first thing in the morning. Have been two days on the trot this weekend. It's quiet, friendly and the staff were helpful. Great offer on breakfast at the moment too.

Met up for a planning meeting, staff friendly and helpful. Place busy but not too noisy.

Great food & we all enjoyed what we had. Only problem we found was the waiting time for the food! Needs more waiters as it was mega busy. We felt sorry for them as they were rushed off their feet. Will still continue to go when it's not as busy.

Always busy but the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is served hot and is of good quality. Never had to wait too long even when it's heaving! Lots of choice on the menu too.

Very clean, quiet, nice Christmas decor. The new sugar free breakfast beans really let it down though. Plus staff gossiping continuously & loudly not the best vibe...

The Cheese Burger and chips was amazing. My wife had a chicken curry which she said and I quote (That was amazing). 1 lime and soda and 1 wine prices are really low. Thankyou to the bar tender (forgot the name) very kind. :)

Food always good and served hot. Bar always a little rushed. Could do with a good deeper clean of the venue. Especially the material in the booths. Staff need to listen better regarding allergies.

This 'spoons is the real deal. Came on a Friday evening, had excellent food, and plenty of it, served by polite and friendly staff. I ordered our two meals and drinks by the Spoons app, and whilst the place was fairly busy, it was well staffed and the order arrived in a reasonable time. Thankyou Leyland Lion.

Seems to be my go-to at the moment. You can not fault food or drinks here, I love that you can get unlimited hot drinks (certain drinks) A few times I've been, one member off staff always seems to apologise for them not having enough staff on that day. He does try his best to keep everyone happy. I'm looking forward to my next visit, even if it's just for a drink.

Hi would just like to say that the service and friendliness of the staff at the lion in Leyland was excellent 10 out of 10 the meal was good too ! Would recommend it for family tea time meal !!

Can’t believe Leyland Lion, I’m so disgusted! I wanted to go for a nice meal with Josh (bare in mind he’s nearly 22 & he’s got his car/house keys in his hand and im 20 in a couple of months but I agree I look like a baby without looking made up) but anyway so we ordered on the weatherspoons app like we do at every one we go to and reason we we going its because I work late and don’t feel like cooking at like 9:30-10pm, hoping for a easy tea! Plus I get to spend some time with my fella as we on on different schedules I work late…also just you never know what someone’s going through too… It was dead, a few people in however sat away from them because we wanted somewhere quiet. This young guy came over with our drinks and asked us for ID, we said why? As we didn’t have alcohol or have done anything wrong etc. He said it’s their policy and it’s been a rule since he’s been here for 2 and a half years (he added…very impressed, not!) strange as we and family (2 young kids) went there not so long ago and wanted told this? Also I didn’t see any signage anywhere however I wasn’t really looking for signs lol because I’m of age 💆🏻‍♀️ Anyway, proceeded to show my driving license and Josh didn’t have his on him bcos he didn’t think he’d need it obviously, I had a picture of his passport and apparently he couldn’t accept that. So he said (as the food was already on our table) we can give you a refund in cash or I can let you stay and eat but you’ll have to eat really quick and then go straight after. Now I’m sorry but he looked younger than me and how rude I’ve never been served by such a cocky & obnoxious person before. Thought it was actually a joke at first and he was telling us all this with a huge grin on his face. So we obviously ate our food bcos we was starving but every 5mins he’d be checking on us. Definitely WONT BE COMING BACK and family too now! What a shame as we’ve just moved to the area too. Anyone else has a bad experience here?

Friendly staff, foods served very quickly (slightly after lunch time around 2pm). Standard and reliable Wetherspoon foods for a quick bite to eat. What else do we need?!

The tikka is mainly gravy, the sweet potato curry poor, naans like soggy dish cloths and the rice had dried out so much it was literally crunchy. The poppadoms were decent. OMG. I will never risk eating here again. Sort it out!

Well , like I said in my last review I would try them again , the leyland lion ( Wetherspoons ) yet again hasn’t disappointed, ronan, (sorry if I’ve spelt it wrong ) saved the day with his personal intervention, while it was only a custard issue, he sorted it out for us quickly and brilliantly, aside from the custard incident, the meal and service yet again was great and totally professional, thanks again Wetherspoons for doing what it says on the tin 👍

Good choice of beers but often few customers making it lacking in atmosphere.

It's Spoons. I am bias towards them. I still think they are the best value for money in the industry. Today 2 x traditional breakfast and 2 x coffee with free top ups LESS THAN 8 QUID!. Yes it's good quality ingredients served with a smile on a miserable scotch misty Leyland it was a nice surprise to have a bargain on the high street these days. Please still support the small independent cafe when you can, but these support local workers and British suppliers and pay lots of tax. So a big thanks to Tim and all his staff for making my day.

It's one of my favourite JD Wetherspoons, staff always friendly and the food is always piping hot.

The menus are filthy with food and liquids on them, the food tastes like rubber and there's cobwebs hanging around the ceilings over tables. they had no white sugar at all but didn't inform us until after we ordered and paid which then rendered the drinks useless. Overall I wouldn't feed my dying cat.

Nice enough 'Spoons pub. Staff are great but worked hard. I've not eaten here so cannot comment on the food.

I understand the after 9 rule relating to IDs as i work as front of house myself, we were happy to leave the premises, however found the member of staff behind the bar very rude and disrespectful, we were all over 18 however one of us didn’t have our IDs (bare in mind, they drive, have tattoos and even looks over 18). Regardless, the member of staff behind the bar was very rude about this, talking down his nose at us as if we were children. This isn’t professional nor respectful. As regular customers, we will not be returning. Very disappointed.

The food is what it is, its not high end dining, but it is not trying to be that, its good honest food at a good price, vast choice of drinks, quick service by friendly staff 👍🏾

I had a large mixed grill and everything came well done in fact to well done

Staff were really friendly this afternoon. Despite it being a hot day the pub felt cool and the service was quick.

Always have a breakfast and have had a mojority of the entire menu food is really good and price are not bad service is brilant all staff are great and not to mention the pints are kept low on price as well

Typical wetherspoons can't complain at anything but nothing special about the place. Parking is a little difficult with it being on the high street but good service.

Took the kids in this morning for breakfast. All three kids (2, 6, and 9) had the small American breakfast and it went down very well. Wife ordered mushrooms Benedict but they had no poached eggs so they offered fried or scrambled eggs instead.. that confused me. Well done to the Sunderland fans as well who arrived on two coaches, they piled in but were very respectful of all who were there. Let's hope they make the play-offs now. #FTM

Clean, pleasant staff ,great prices on drinks and food and good company with other customers

Since mark left this place has taken a nose dive. The young kids are trying there hardest but it’s currently a shambles dirty / tables & plates everywhere and long waits. If you complain a few regulars got barred

Ordered on the app at 18:22 but no sign of our food by 18:55 so my wife sets off for the bar to find out what’s going on, only to see our food (and several other meals) sat waiting at the pass. Five minutes later and still no sign of the food so she went up and collected it herself. Needless to say it was fairly lukewarm by this point. Several staff even walked past her as she was bringing the food over and there wasn’t even a single acknowledgment, despite us being sat right by the exit in to the kitchen. Madness.

Probably the worst Wetherspoons in the U.K. Took the time to travel there on Sunday at around 11:30 and were told that there would be a wait of around 45 minutes to an hour for food. Not great, but not unexpected in Britain today where high prices, food shortages, uncleared tables and limited staff are now normal. Decided to stick it out and our large party all chose meals. Then went to the bar to be told that “naa - we can’t do food”. No reason given and no apologies from the staff who clearly couldn’t have cared less. Zero food available on a Sunday lunchtime. If you don’t actually like food and enjoy speaking to staff with zero customer service skills go to Wetherspoons in Leyland. If not go somewhere, literally anywhere, else. Awful in every way. Avoid!
