You wouldn’t think this was part of a large chain. Chefs kiss for the food Chefs kiss for the service Chefs kiss for the atmosphere Really can’t complain about anything here. Was fairly priced, food was bob-on, and staff were great. Great cosy atmosphere, you often only find in smaller independent pubs/restaurants. I’ll be back!

Stayed here end of January travelling down from the highlands with our Motorhome to Portsmouth for the Ferry to Spain. A very very warm welcome from Linsey & the Team, food, drink & atmosphere in the pub was brilliant so much that we stopped overnight with the Motorhome on our way back on 28/4/24. Cannot recommend this place enough & will be our stop off next year on route down.

Went for lunch today 29.4.24, served by Tiele and our food was cooked by Serif, absolutely delicious! Chicken and avocado salad and hubby had duck and jalapeño pizza. Both dishes delicious!! Service was attentive but not smothering as in some places, everything just right! ( especially the vino😎). Will definitely be back 🤩

Came here with friends, I’m a fussy eater but they were very accommodating, the food quality was excellent. We all enjoyed our selection, will certainly come here again.

The meal was just passable, we ordered drinks n finally got them after wed virtually finished the meal, despite asking the waitress when she brought the meal we then had to go n ask again

A beautiful place with great service and excellent food, although a changed menu offers less choice. Pricing is not cheap, and the occasional offers are not as good as they used to be and don't last as long.

Wow what can I say, everything was amazing, Terri the manager went above and beyond to make sure our food was perfect and allergy free, she took her time to understand our needs. All staff were helpful and friendly, I have autism and they made me feel so welcome, the music wasn't loud and it made time with my wife more relaxed. Thank you so much for everything 😊

Food was amazing and service was excellent. It was a little quiet as we came weekday lunchtime but really nice pub with great food choices and drinks.

Last visit. Restaurant was reasonably busy, although service good, food was not. Prawns were questionable if cooked, and main course chips were swimming in grease . To the point where the plates had to be mopped up with a napkin to remove the excess grease. Was very noticeable so why was it sent out?

First visit in a couple of years. Used to come often so we thought we'd give it another try prior to a trip down south, so thinking it'd be better than a motorway services...hmmmm... Decor/atmosphere is great, staff were very friendly, but sadly the food was pretty poor. Lukewarm at best, with cold fries, just isn't good enough nowadays

Friendly staff. The food was excellent and arrived in good time. Ok so it's more expensive than the likes of "Hungry Horse" pubs but it's better quality, I guess it's your choice but if you want better service and quality this is a really good choice.

Disappointed, the starters were amazing, main courses pretty rubbish. No idea who was the the server was as had at least 3. I thought the main meals were over priced. The lamb was not pan seared and tough the pie had no lamb whatsoever. The sea bass was OK, king prawns, were normal prawns. The lasagne was amazing but for £16.50 , had better elsewhere. I would not go back, we had previously visited and whole dinning experience was totally different. Bill came to £108. Would have been great value for money had the main courses been better.

Service was brilliant (friendly, welcoming and relaxed) - thank you Terri and Natalie. Food apparently prepared by Sarah and Shyla, thank you. - my wife had lovely beef pie, I had a burger (really good, fries maybe a little over done), sister had the fish ‘n chips - all good. We’ll be back soon.

Always enjoy eating at The Walton Fox

Visited with my mother and brother, we stayed for about a hour. In that time, we were served by the wonderful Lindsay and our food cooked by Serif. We all shared starters and had our own main courses, coming to about £60, and I think it was worth every penny. The restaurant is so quaint and wonderful, with comfy, cushy seats next to a log fire. Delightfully quiet and warm. Food was great, I can’t stress enough how nice of an afternoon we had. Thank you again for this

Popped in for a quick unplanned lunch with the hubby and our little boy. Our server Thea was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and they were very on the ball with allergens which you don't always see. Will definitely be back

The ideal place for a family lunch with the grown up children. Great food, great beer and great service.

A very pleasant dining experience. Hannah provided a friendly and attentive service. The menu was suitably varied and although a few items were not available, there was still plenty of choice. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The only downside was a rather loud group at another table, but that can happen anywhere, so not really a complaint. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Very impressed with the service and the food. My wife and I had two lots of the bar snacks 3 for £10. The garlic bread was a full size portion. The hog roast sausage roll was very nice, the shredded crispy chicken emwas very nice, chorizo was cooked ro perfection. Thank you very much Lisa / Josh and Shyia

Elie provided a great service even though the pub was busy she checked in with us and ensured we were happy with our food. Paul was the chef today the food was excellent quality.

My wife and I returned to the Walton Fox having not been for a number of years. We’re glad we did, as the food and friendly atmosphere was excellent and really good value . We will be back😊

Great meal and lovely staff. Lisa made me feel very welcome and was so obliging and lovely and made a solo woman feel very comfortable alone in the restaurant.

We were greeted and, although slightly early, shown to our table. Given time to decide on drinks, when arrived, food order taken. Food was delicious, the only thing we felt was that we would have preferred a little time between starter and mains.

My 3 sons took me to the Walton Fox for a lovely Mother’s Day meal and it was so nice! We were served by a lovely young lady called Hannah and our food was freshly cooked by Serif & Paul. The food was gorgeous! I had the roast, as did one of my sons. Another son had the fish and chips, the chips looked amazing! So crispy and fluffy in the middle! And my other son had the steak, I had to stop him from licking his plate!! Not a crumb left!! Hannah was a confident young lady who looked after our needs really well. We had no issues or complaints! I hope she’s there next time! Thank you Hannah, Serif & Paul xxx

Didn't eat here on my latest visit as it was an informal business meeting, being perfectly located off the South Preston M6 Junction 29. Been here several times and have eaten here with excellent cuisine. All the staff, drinks and atmosphere are always excellent. Visiting the Walton Fox feels like your local cosy regular pub. 10/10 highly recommend.

As a wheelchair user there was plenty of space and access was easy. Staff very helpful. Prompt service with food well presented and plentiful! A throughly enjoyable visit in a pleasant atmosphere. Good food, good ambience and good service.

We had a lovely family lunch today. Our server Niamh really looked after us and sorted out our Gluten Free queries with no issues. Chef Paul did a top job with our food. Vegetarian aubergine parmigana was full of flavour and those eating meet said it was cooked very nicely. Clean plates all round. Definitely worth a visit 😁

Everything was great. Staff super friendly and even called me and came to look for me when I forgot my bag! Food was good. Blackberry and apple crumble slightly tarty but blackberry is tarty. I loved the chic pea and butternut squash burger and will have this again next time I come.

Hannah really understood when I said ‘lots of gravy’ so thanks to the kitchen for giving me a second jug! Really lovely way to have a Sunday roast with great service and it’s always great food.

Met my friend here for a girls lunch. The place was very busy when we arrived but we were shown to our seats and asked what we would like to drink without any delay. The service from James was excellent and my friend and i remarked how pleasant he was with all the customers. We will be returning.

Great meal (Serif) and service (Lucy). Well accommodating for us and lots of room for the baby with the high chair. The belly pork roast was beautiful.

I have reviewed the Walton Fox before and due to sub standard quality, concluded I would not return. However, last week I was invited by family and didn't want to miss out on the occasion. I ordered sausage and mash as nothing else caught my attention. A picture for reference has been added! This was followed by sticky toffee pudding / custard and pot of tea. I will report in reverse order.... The pudding was fairly tasty and well presented, no complaints here. The sausage and mash - refer to the pic, which pretty much sums up this dish. Sausages, black on the outside, mash in a pool of gravy and covered with....well I'm not entirely sure!...veg was minimal. Taste of the dish- bland! Potatoes - either very sloppy as seeped in gravy or as I suspected - instant powered mash. Had I not been absolutely ravenous, the main dish would have been returned to the kitchen. After the meal we remained seated, chatting the night away. I like to remain observant during these times. There were plenty of staff on duty, swiftly turning over the bookings, they were polite and friendly to each group that arrived. What they seemed to overlook were the parties that had finished eating, like ours. We sat for approx 2.5 hours and during this time not one staff member approached us. Their focus is very much on new arrivals and not keeping 'bums on seats' to drum up further custom. The pub is conveniently located, just off the M6/ M65 network at Bamber Bridge in Lancashire. It neighbours a Premier Inn hotel and has a very large B&Q, Sainsburys and Matalan within the vicinity. There is also another pub on the opposite side of the road. The Walton Fox is ideally located. Outdoor seating is perfect for the warmer weathers too. Some external tidying up is needed, which I am sure will be done come springtime. The pub certainly needs to sort out some of the food dishes in terms of presentation and quality, as well as staff tending to all customers, not just their new arrivals and eating guests. Conclusion - as per my last visit I will not be returning in a hurry. Competition of public houses is high nowadays and there are better ones not too far away.

Not a regular visitor to this pub but normally 5 or 6 visits a year and the last 2 times I have been disappointed. Ny eve and last night was disappointing. Ny eve just basically lack of value but last night was a different matter. Seated quickly but slow to take drink order and then slow to receive order. Again slow to take food order and when it arrived food was cold. Pizza was OK but my burger and my partners snitzel were cold, warm on top where they had been under the passes lights but just about like warm anywhere else. This was disappointing but so was the quality of my burger. Overcooked and messy presentation. My partner normally takes photos of our food and posts online bit last night did not as we don't like to post on social media in a bad light, as we feel that's unfair as maybe a one off. Also a first in cutting a night short, no puddings or extra drinks as felt let down. Tried again on the 17th fed 24. Again food very poor quality.

The food was absolutely amazing, steak pie cooked by a chef called Paul was delicious. My son had a beefburger 🍔 cooked to perfection he said . Lucy was the waitress, so polite, friendly, couldn’t do enough for us …… a credit to the inn. We will return…thank you .

Called for lunch, we are not local. Was looking for a country pub, this is on an industrial estate but don’t let that fool you! Inside is beautiful, rustic and authentic. Service was fantastic from Niamh, and food was lovely. We had the lunch 2 course menu. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Plentiful portions, very good value for money.

We came here for a weekday dinner. Sat by the fire which was lovely and cosy- I had requested somewhere warm, so it was gorgeous. The food was lovely, I had the chicken and vegetable penang curry. It was so tasty. The rice was a bit classy but didn’t ruin it. The small dessert with cup of tea was lovely to finish. Our waitress Thea was great. Very attentive and polite. Have been before and would definitely return.
