Good staff friendly atmosphere food very nice and fair pirece . All stuff are very friendly visit 1 time but now gonna turn our local pub we will go every day now.

What a wonderful pub. Took parents for fathers day. Dad is wheelchair bound, mum uses a walker frame and they had a little dog. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was tasty and plentiful. Atmosphere was great. Definitely worth a visit and would come back

Decent pub with plenty of range on tap and bottles behind the bar. To watch the footy there are also plenty of tv's staff are nice and plenty of seating space inside and out. Food is hit and miss on the numerous occassions we have ordered food. Good pub for a beer

Just called in on my way past .The Guinness was good but a pound a pint dearer than my local. I drank outside cos it was warm,saw people served with food which looked good.Over all an enjoyable pub except for the toilets,probably the dirtiest I've ever seen, looked like the floor had been cleaned with a muddy dead dog.Not too pleased to receive a £100 parking fine.Needless to say will not be returning.

Been a couple times and always a pleasure. The staff poppy and Luke are always happy to help and very friendly. Can’t wait till my friends next suggest to come back.

Came here a few days ago for some food and a pint because the weather was good! Poppy served me and my friends and their service was great, always had a smile on their face and made sure we enjoyed our time there. thankyou poppy <3

Came in yesterday with my mates for a nice drink and the person on the bar was LOVELY, I think their name was Poppy. Proper sorted us out and had good crack. Thank you Poppy!

Little tired interior but foods great.

My friend and I had a lovely meal, and the drinks were good it was just a shame they didn't have the ingredients for the cocktail they had advertised, but the cocktail I had instead was lovely

We attended the Fleece as part of a charity walk for CALM and which the Landlady was told over 40 people would be attending at some point prior to the event. Only two people on the bar despite being very busy and then one left to serve food. Funnily enough the Landlady was sat at a table having a pint of Guinness!! As you can imagine at lot of us left without a purchase so well needed trade was lost!

Great food with good staff, staff who served us and was really helpful and friendly. Lunchtime 2 for £14.99 great value, big well cooked and tasty food.

Enjoyed my meal,and the Fleece have a gluten free menu which is just what I need.

I like it here....enough to come every week for lunch. Great food and nice discount off two meals from the lunch menu.

Another lovely weekday tea at The Fleece, great value food and always a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are fabulous and always check everything is okay. Its a 5* from us

Staff rude so we all left, told was stood at wrong of end of open bar to place order, tall female short blonde hair AVOID as makes you feel like a nuisance....

Went here on a Saturday night for a few drinks. All l can say l will not be going back until the toilets have been update they are discusting. My way of thinking is what are the kitchens like if the toilets are not kept to a good standard.

Excellent friendly pub, the staff are a laugh with great customer service skills. The newly renovated exterior is ace! Worth a pint as the pub has been standing for hundreds of years.

40 years on and toilets are still filthy, smelly and shameful. Average beverage prices, great staff, local pub but out of town visitors think it's a dump. Tap and Vine is superior. .

Went for an evening family walk post Christmas. Lovely cold night and towards the end of our walk we popped in for a drink. It was toasty and warm. Plenty of staff so we got a drink served quickly at the bar. Drinks served perfectly, Guinness was cold and poured well. We often call after a walk and it’s always welcoming . The food is nice as is the lighting and bar area

Me and friend came in for food, drinks and football. Food was served on time and hot. Both of us got the cheese and bacon burger. It was very, very tasty. Also plenty of TV's to watch the Football on!

Parked at fleece went in for lunch no one told me I had to register my number plate and I’ve just received. £170 fine for parking there even tho I was a customer threatening bailiffs I won’t be ever coming back disgusting

Lovely time here, very nice and festive decoration. Was greeted on arrival by shelly at the bar who was lovely and chatted to us, ordered a drinks and food. Nice bit of food burger and 3 small plates. Shelly came and asked if everything was OK See you soon

I don't usually write reviews however I saw a review on here today and this review is very unjust I visited for drinks and the staff were very friendly the place was warm and inviting and all my needs were met I feel that untrue and unfair reviews should not be allowed on this site

Food was lovely staff very friendly and drinks were good value for money will return again with family and friends. Staff cannot bend over backwards any more than they do to be friendly and professional. Can't believe what bad reviews some people write that in my opinion are unjustified

I never usually leave reviews but my experience at the Fleece was so appalling today that I am doing so. On entering the bar was unstaffed and then after 10 minutes a woman (apparently called Shelley) got off a stool at the end of the bar and asked what I wanted in a very unfriendly manner. I said I had been waiting 10 minutes and she must have seen that I was there. She completely ignored me and then proceeded to serve me in a very unfriendly manner. I went and sat down and a woman told me this 'Shelley' was always in a mood and just to ignore her. Why would you employ someone like that? I expect more of Greene King and am surprised they tolerate such poor customer service. The pint was fine mind.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great choice of drinks. The football was on which always helps and there was plenty of seating available.

Went in last Wednesday afternoon and I must say the gent behind the bar was amazing. Very friendly and did everything He could for us, it’s a shame the woman behind the bar was very different. Leaves the pub a bad name walking around like she’s sucking sour sweets. Good experience minus the lady.

Fantastic service and excellent attention to the younger members of our party-very accomodating to us and even let us have a free game of pool. Will be back, thank you!

The toilets are a disgrace and have been for years. I won’t eat there in that basis. It’s a shame that such a central and important pub to Penwortham is managed in this way.

The bar-staff were welcoming, the beer was good and competitively priced. The food was nice and reasonably priced. The pub was a pleasant place to be. The toilets were disgusting and this is the only reason for not giving a 5 star rating. If the cleaners ventured in there once a month it would transform the place.

We visited with our grandchildren & enjoyed the food, drink & fun in the back garden. Food was freshly cooked & very hot. Chef kindly allowed us to adjust our order to cater for some vegetarian options & my wife enjoyed drinking Green King beer. Thanks for looking after us & making our visit so nice

The place is disgusting, snotty staff really really dirty toilets full of flies. The place is almost always empty so has no atmosphere and feels really awkward and to top it all off they have just installed parking eye which they have never had before and they it is not clear in anyway shape or form and no one who works there is telling customers. So if you go it will be horrible food, snotty staff, in clean and to top it off a big parking fine. Go anywhere else!

Never had a problem with the fleece.. Its just had some reno work as well so it's fresh. There is sometimes a long wait for food but I feel that's the norm now

Lovely lunch - good value for money. We took the two dogs - the whole pub is dog friendly. We also had the baby - great baby changing facilities available. Helpful staff. Good service - quick to bring food out but was all fresh. Will defo be coming back again! Would highly recommend for families, dog walkers or couples!

Called in for dinner , the staff were fantastic and the food was amazing, I had the chicken and ham pie and my partner had the beef and ale pie and it really was delicious, also had the apple and blackberry crumble with ice cream have to say it was unreal

Awful food , expensive drinks, decent enough atmosphere

Learn to pour Guinness, possible the worse pint ive ever had. Floor was sticky, table legs never been cleaned. Whole place is filthy. No soap in the toilets, dispenser no where to be seen. What a shambles. Go to the Finney or Brown Hare. All this mess is after its recent refurb!! Owners should be ashamed

We came to the Fleece had a lovely meal great service . The young man behind the bar was very informative he went out of his way to make our experience very pleasant. We would recommend this pub to our friends.

Nice open pub with friendly and helpful staff and I would give another try however just on the basis that my Mac and cheese was very bland and for the price I would expect better quality, garlic bread was okay though but the salad had more flavour than the Mac and cheese to be honest.

Surprisingly adequate for a chain pub. Would visit again. Would be better if it had more than 1 pool table.

Top quality pub and cheap drinks

I came with my son and his friends for a few games of pool and some food-the small sharer plates are AMAZING! We had a mixture of tacos, sliders and sides and enjoyed a couple of drinks too. The service was awesome as usual and we had a great time-we will be back!
