The Fleece Inn in South Ribble

The food was beyond basic, poorly presented but cheap. I don't want poor-quality ping cuisine - it was truly awful and cheap. Toilets are disgusting too.

Went for lunch with grandchildren aged 3 and 1. High chair provided was absolutely filthy, covered in dried on food and crumbs despite the barman wiping the plastic lining before he gave it to us. Under all the tables and in corners were universally filthy. Food was variable. Kids meals were OK, and the fish in the fish and chips was very good, but the lasagne appeared to have been reheated, was dried up and burnt, and consequently very chewy. Service was generally slow, albeit staff were pleasant.

Visited the pub a few days ago with family had a great time the place was lovely and the staff were friendly very clean and tidy , i will recommend the place to friends.

Came into the fleece with friends to watch the football what a great atmosphere lovely and warm and was served by a lovely guy named Steve very helpful and service was great will def be back soon

You even get a small ostrich form within a pint of cider. Amazing

The Pub from the outside looks great, but… inside the seats and tables are shabby , the toilets are a disgrace and the food is very average. We have been to the Ship the Farmers and the Queens,…top class pubs , which are absolutely rammed with people. It is about time Penwortham had a decent pub , and the Fleece would be the place but it needs sorting… urgently !!!! Would be well worth the investment it would be packed

Busy chain pub, beer quality no so good but staff & service great.

Had lunch at The Fleece. Very good food for the price and nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Came for lunch with friends and food was fantastic. I had the cheese burger. I was with older friends and it was great that they serve a seniors lunch menu for those who want a smaller plate. Great dessert options too! Great team of people serving.

Every Wednesday pint and burger deal on and realy nice . Good beers . Very welcoming stuff even they re busy they re always welcoming and helpfull

Lovely pub and staff but the food was terrible. Ordered two roast dinners, advertised pigs in blankets, they didn’t have any. No apple sauce or mint sauce, my other half went across to the spar to buy some. Cauliflower cheese was still frozen, they brought some more for us but it wasn’t any better. Will go back again for a drink but not for food

Visited with family who were treating me for lunch after helping them move to area. I had to sit there with no food as there was no gluten free lunch options available. No alternatives were offered

On my way back from a meeting I popped into the fleece as it looked welcoming from the outside and I wasn’t disappointed it was warm n cozy inside and the gent behind the bar Steve was very friendly and professional the food was delicious and very reasonably priced, if you haven’t tried this place give it a go

The green king menu isn't much to get excited about. High fat, high calorie pub food in the main. The bar menu is good though and the atmosphere is welcoming . The decor is tired though.

Most of the food seemed like it had been cooked for slightly too long, and took a while to arrive. Toilets aren't something I'd usually comment on, but the gents toilets here really need a good clean. They are not pleasant

The food was missing some ingredients stated on the menu. It looked like something off the kids menu. They did however refund our money for the food which was a good gesture.

Brilliant pub, had an absolute blast with some friends doing the quiz. Plenty of offers on for shots which got our night going nicely. Genuinely one of the most fun nights I've had for a while.

Needs updating looks inviting from the outside but inside and toilets are scruffy.

Nice and quiet. Lunch options were great. Short wait time. Wraps were amazing and came with dips. Chicken wings were nice and crispy.

After being let down for a Sunday roast across the road from here we decided to have a dinner in here at 13.15 instead.We were told there was a 45 minute wait so we agreed and ordered 3 cokes and 3 roast beef dinners when ready. Then we were told there was no roast beef only turkey. Beggars belief !! ?? so we left and got MC donalds . Shouldn't have left Blackpool HaHa,Ha.

Came in a few weeks ago with a few friends for a birthday. As soon as we sat at the bar Poppy was there to help. They had a very good knowledge of the menus and also made very good suggestions when we were unable to decide what to have. Will definitely be coming again soon

I ordered a main, desert and my drinks at the bar to which the staff member got wrong and charged me the wrong amount which I then had to correct them on. After they brought out the wrong food for our table, my main meal came cold. My friend then ordered so more drinks and they didn't come until 20 minutes had gone by and they were not busy at all. After finishing our mains no one came to clear our plates, then 40 minutes had gone by so we decided to leave after realising how bad the service was. Once I arrived home I realised that I had ordered and paid for a desert which never arrived. I am really mad as I love churros.

super cute pub, honestly doesn’t feel like a chain until you look at the menus and see the logo! very decent guinness, cheap n cheerful food, and super friendly staff. poppy was exceptionally lovely - so nice to be served by someone who was up for a chat instead of just slamming down a pint glass and offering over a card reader. will be back for sure!

Went to The Fleece in for about 45mins to an hour for drinks only to be hit with a £100 parking fine! Not clearly sign posted or anything. Didn’t see any signs or even told by a single member of staff about this parking scam! Its absolutely disgusting!!

Shocking food, grubbiest toilets in England, lousy attitude from Management. Overpriced drinks. Car park that you get fined for parking in, should you forget to register your number plate. Sooner it gets taken over the better

Always get a big fuss for my pups in the Fleece. Me and the family are regulars and always made to feel welcome and looked after. Loving the burger and a drink deal. Best smashed burger in Penwortham

Drinks are fine a little pricey, won’t ever eat here again though, me and my boyfriend have been here a couple times for drinks and yesterday we thought oh we might as well have something to eat, bad decision, a couple hours after we started with quite painful stomach cramps and diarrhoea which we thought would be a one off but it has continued into the morning.

Toilets are horrible. Many Acknowledgement s of the issues in past reviews but nothing being done about it . Why ? If Weathespoons can do it why xant you

What a wonderful pub. Took parents for fathers day. Dad is wheelchair bound, mum uses a walker frame and they had a little dog. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was tasty and plentiful. Atmosphere was great. Definitely worth a visit and would come back

Decent pub with plenty of range on tap and bottles behind the bar. To watch the footy there are also plenty of tv's staff are nice and plenty of seating space inside and out. Food is hit and miss on the numerous occassions we have ordered food. Good pub for a beer

Just called in on my way past .The Guinness was good but a pound a pint dearer than my local. I drank outside cos it was warm,saw people served with food which looked good.Over all an enjoyable pub except for the toilets,probably the dirtiest I've ever seen, looked like the floor had been cleaned with a muddy dead dog.Not too pleased to receive a £100 parking fine.Needless to say will not be returning.

Little tired interior but foods great.

My friend and I had a lovely meal, and the drinks were good it was just a shame they didn't have the ingredients for the cocktail they had advertised, but the cocktail I had instead was lovely

We attended the Fleece as part of a charity walk for CALM and which the Landlady was told over 40 people would be attending at some point prior to the event. Only two people on the bar despite being very busy and then one left to serve food. Funnily enough the Landlady was sat at a table having a pint of Guinness!! As you can imagine at lot of us left without a purchase so well needed trade was lost!

Great food with good staff, staff who served us and was really helpful and friendly. Lunchtime 2 for £14.99 great value, big well cooked and tasty food.

Enjoyed my meal,and the Fleece have a gluten free menu which is just what I need.

I like it here....enough to come every week for lunch. Great food and nice discount off two meals from the lunch menu.

Staff rude so we all left, told was stood at wrong of end of open bar to place order, tall female short blonde hair AVOID as makes you feel like a nuisance....

Went here on a Saturday night for a few drinks. All l can say l will not be going back until the toilets have been update they are discusting. My way of thinking is what are the kitchens like if the toilets are not kept to a good standard.

40 years on and toilets are still filthy, smelly and shameful. Average beverage prices, great staff, local pub but out of town visitors think it's a dump. Tap and Vine is superior. .
