The food is generally good although there is always a que to order and never enough staff to go around. You can see them rushing around to try and keep up. The kids desserts are absolutely measley. One scope of ice-cream for £2.65!!

Had been to Farmers personally to book table for 14 but had no record of it! Cobbled together two squashed up tables. Food service slow and loads of tables uncleared. Not enough staff, long queue at bar to order food. AND - No Apology!!

Very disappointed with the meat we received from the carvery, all very thin slices or small pieces. Paid £37 for 2 drinks and 2 carvery’s. Hardly any meat on either of them. Decor nice and outdoor space looked great. Staff were welcoming and friendly but probably won’t go back as we can get bigger portions for a cheaper price elsewhere.

Well, we arrived and finally managed to get served ( no staff) then while waiting for a hot drink the barman went to serve somebody else. Finally got our carvery tickets and waited patiently and then staff announced the food will be out shortly 10 minutes later they brought the food out and to my horror it was last nights meat, the turkey was dry also the gammon was as well also peas and potatoes over cooked and to round it off there was no gravy. I waited 5 minutes for that and guess what my carvery was now cold. THANKS A LOT STONEHOUSE, always seems to be staffing problems and tables full of breakfast plates left lying around. IT USED TO BE ONE OF MY FAVOURITES PLACES

The burger patties are literally the cheapest you can buy. You know, the type you get from a snide burger van; very poor quality. They also forgot the 1st round of drinks and had to be prompted (no big deal) The desserts took a while too because the bubble waffle machine broke, so we had to b wait for the Belgian waffles. Again, no big deal. But when you put all 3 issues together, it doesn’t make you want to go back. I suspect their carvery is excellent and that’s what they’re known for. But we weren’t in the mood for a carvery.

Went here for breakfast no need to reserve as they have plenty of tables. The food was at its usual standard which is far by none the best breakfast around Preston Bamber Bridge and Leyland same goes for the Sunday lunch one not to miss 5***** from me

This is the second time we have been since the renovation. Last time, the service was atrocious, it took, on average, an hour per course. Our mains came out before the starter and that was an hour and a half after ordering! We gave them the benefit of the doubt and went for breakfast this morning. Ordered 3 breakfasts and one waffle. We waited, and waited and waited for the waffle. Asked 3 times when it would be served! It took 50 minutes!! The place wasn't even that busy! Will NOT be going again, and would NOT recommend!

Had a fantastic breakfast here this morning it was ABSOLUTELY top notch. There service was next level aswell I was served by a lovely lady called Natalie she couldn't do enough for me. So smily and polite a real credit to the company. I also had the pleasure of chatting to one of the managers aswell. She was called Kim. Kim was also very polite and well mannered. It was a very good experience I'm glad I came here today. I will definitely be returning. It is in such a wonderful location aswell. Really nice big outside seating area. Very clean both inside and out. Very family friendly. Perfect experience 10/10

Nice meal. Laura was super lovely when I called to reserve a table. All staff really helpful. Only issue was desert was taking a long while to arrive for the kids who were getting tired and restless. Kids loved the burger. Carvery fab and pizzas look amazing.

Great all you can eat buffet breakfast, also does carvery and a separate menu with pizza burgers etc.

If ordering anything other than the cavery or breakfast, expect to wait at least 40 mins.

Shocking service. Waited 40 minutes for a starter, further 40 minutes for mains and then asked for pudding (had to go and ask at the bar because the staff were never around) which still hadn't appeared after another 25 minutes - gave up and left.

Shortage of Staff means longer queue to order & longer waiting for table delivery's.

Great home made pizzas, just took a while to get them.

My husband and I have dined in The Farmer's Arms a few times. Warm welcome from the bar staff Even though they're always busy. the manager does not give up attention and friendliness to customers. Attentive waiters and lovely atmosphere. Sea food here is amazing. I had grilled lobster and it was very well served to my requirements and was delicious, as was my husband's fish and chips. We have already booked a table for our next return to the UK.

Busy noisy restaurant. Specialises in carvery, pizza and burgers. Good value for money.

Food is nice quality, shame the staff are not up to standard. Tables lacking cutlery needed to get my own. Bar staff need to take note which customer is next, If you want service and you are on your own, you will be avoided for a bigger party. Glasses were not removed from tables even when they had been left quite a while.

The lady boss is very miserable..young lady that served us very nice and pleasant.

Straight at the Door for 9am. First in and the breakfast is waiting, mouth-wateringly and massively portioned British Classic Breakfast all with a Brew and Orange juice at the bar to wash it down, chased by four slices of toast, these guys know service and warm welcome. Love it.

Nicely refurbished, but let down by food, went for breakfast, half the dishes empty, eggs undercooked, bakebeans more sauce than beans.

I'm sorry to give such a low rating however after 2 recent visits (first was not good but assumed this was due to Christmas) both haven't gone well they really need to do some improvement. But would like to be honest b caus if you don't know you can't improve. so not to be totally negative the food was good when we got it however the service is not great they seem to have lots of staff but they are not really helping solve the issues they seem to be either in the wrong place or just disappear when asked for something. our last visit was chaotic to say the least one person behind the carvery which would be fine if able to just keep serving instead had to keep topping up veg and potatoes when running low going in and out of the kitchen there is as no help despite staff popping behind looking putting hands on hips and disappearing again 🫣 this meant the que was ridiculous staff just seem d to laugh and mentioned it's always like that which means they still haven't got it right. Because the ques were so big this meant wherever you sat there we're just people queued up all complaining about the que kids crying and getting in patient and parents well trying to stay calm under the chaos this also meant there were people everywhere in your space meaning the atmosphere was effected and you couldn't really relax. To add to this there was no cutlery to eat your food with and staff disappearing when asking for help it was just crazy. I followed a staff member to the kitchen to get some forks only to stand there 3/4 mins and instead she was behind the bar!!!!! When asked again did you find any they disappeared and again I was left waiting. Staff behind the bar again seems disorganized no one helping each other so it takes forever to get served. So a small number of our party who didn't want carvery ordered burgers only to find they had forgotten some of them so it took over 2 hours for us all to eat and that was all at different stages. all in all not sure what happened recently but won't be returning until they have improved on their service and trained their staff in customer service they really need to improve before staff go on burn out for running round not being productive and customers start complaining and stop coming. I can only imagine the chaos we saw at the front of the service was that bad the back of house and kitchen must be an absolute nightmare sorry Farmers Arms but completely disappointed ☹️

Great food, the squeezed a big party of 23 into a tiny space though! And the bar service was really slow. Staff are friendly and the carvery was delicious.

Me & my 10 y/o daughter visited here for lunch yesterday, she had carvery which looked very nice, I had a 'dirty nacho cheese burger', which I enjoyed overall but the 2 beef patties weren't the best, taste wise, & were thin, had they been of better quality this burger wouldve been totally awesome, however, it was ½ price burger Monday so given the price I was still happy! The place is exceptionally clean and well presented and I will definitely visit again. I really want to mention Gemma, the lovely red-haired team member, who was very helpful, friendly, and quick to serve on both occasions. She was so lovely and an asset to your team at the Farmer's. See you again soon!

The menu doesn't give everything. I got the Cheese and Bancon burger and it had unions and lettuce when it DID NOT have that on the menu and the ice cream wasn't even a scoop. I love the pizza though.

Alex made our experience here fab! He was great with my little boy and made sure we had everything we needed, he was prompt in responding to help us!

We had the bottomless pizza and Prosecco here for Valentine’s Day. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The pizzas were delicious and very fresh. We would highly recommend.

Katie goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed

We chose from the menu rather than have the carvery and it was standard pub grub but the service from Alex made up for the mediocre food and gave us an enjoyable experience. Alex was courteous, patient and communicative which enhanced our visit.

Went for breakfast. Food fresh and hot. Katie who served us was great. There was no sausages out when we got there and she popped over to let us know they was out. Really lovely person saw her chatting with a few tables. It was busy but nice and chilled. Definitely be going back.

Lovely meal last night with the family great staff especially Alex behind the bar. He was very efficient and polite. We will be back thank you 🙂

Myself and my family visited The Farmers Arms last week. The food was lovely and both my kids really enjoyed their meals which is a win for us when we eat out, they are both picky! Alex was absolutely amazing when we visited though his service was brilliant which is just what you want when you visit anywhere with 2 small children! Thank you! ☺️

Absolute brilliant very friendly pub, would recommend to all I know to call in for a breakfast or evening meal either a meal off the menu or a carvery.

My favourite place to eat Attend at least at once a month, the breakfast is such good value and decent quality. Carvery is by far the best in the area, high quality and superb value for money. Farmers Arms has just recently been refurbished and they have done a very good job. The staff are so friendly, hard working and dedicated to providing the best customer service

The service was slow. It looked like it was lack of staff. They were doing the best they could. I did see a server carrying a Yorkshire pudding from the carvery section to the pizza oven by hand. I didn't think that was appropriate.

Food was amazing and the kids loved it 😋 and alex serving us was brilliant he was kind, present and took our plates and brought our deserts

Very very slow service. Asked for child's meal with our starters. An hour later still no meal after requesting it twice. The server was very apologetic but not good enough when you have a child of 2 waiting for nearly 2hrs for a meal. Will never go back

Wait with deliveroo and take away orders in the doorway with the smokers before they can find you your seat. Poor service, but the choice and food was good, bar maids where the only really great thing about the visit. Expect to wait over an hour for your food if it's not a carvery and no plates for your pizza.

Chaos, and the most disgraceful customer service I have ever witnessed. My 84 yr old mum's birthday meal was completely ruined. I have eaten at the Farmers Arms for decades and never known it to be such a disaster. We weren't the only people to complain. There is a definite need for a certain barmaid to have some customer relations training. For the sake of a fair review, we did eventually get a refund but sadly we will never set foot in the place again.

We went on a Sunday and it was very busy we had to wait 5 mins in the doorway trying our best to close the doors as people where smoking at the entrance the wait was other people and justeat drivers collecting their takeaways and other people waiting to be seated then we where shown to our seats, we booked all our food at the bar and ordered our drinks from the very pleasent bar staff. The roast dinners where ready straight away, 20 mins later the veggie option was ready, but 40 mins in our starters only just arrived after everyone except 2 that haddnt received their pizzas had finished their main meal, but it took 1 hour and 20 mins to get the pizza to the table leaving the birthday boy to eat it all alone and it was a giant pizza, but it came with no plate to eat it on so he had to use a napkin. We decided we couldnt wait another hour for deserts so we left with no pudding. Bar staff great, kitchen staff unorganised, proffesional attititude zero, we had to keep asking where our food was, not once did someone take charge and come to the table to explain that the starters and the pizza was going to take so long. We still gave 3 stars because the food was good and the bar staff where good at their job, you need to employ a head waiter to control the times of food to the tables it shouldnt be the duty of the customer to keep reminding you that they dont have any on their table, I understand it was busy maybe not to prioritise take away on nights like that.

Avoid, I'm not that person to leave a terrible review, but honestly this place was horrendous, the food was warmed up we had to wait neck end of an hour to get served, the waitress did apologise for the wait, but it wasn't her fault, no bar staff.The list go's on and on..👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Food was brilliant. Quality has improved definitely. The staff were amazing and polite and very helpful they were amazing. Took time to order at the bar and the staff seemed not enough for the amount of people they were serving. Would definitely return but please help the staff not to be overworked. Nice staff like that are hard to find and replace.

Really enjoyed atmosphere lunchtime at farmer's today. Had carvery all hot and freshly cooked and excellent value for money. Alex cleared our table for us and was working hard to keep up as place was full. All staff are friendly, nothing too much trouble..great.

Visited today with my son daughter and grandaughter beautiful atmosphere bar staff very friendly carver was very miserable quite rude the food was really disapointing very bland no flavour gravy like water deserts was nice though

The decor and atmosphere were very nice. We liked being able to order on the app. Pizza was large and lovely, Pasta bake was tasty, not particularly big, the garlic sticks went well with it but weren't very garlicy. The simple burger overhangs the bread too much so no sauces etc. were on the overhang, so it was a bit plain. What was very disappointing was the size of the 'create your own sundae' ice cream. The two scoops were the size of golf balls, with very little toppings. It looked like a small child's dessert and certainly wasn't worth £4.99.

Went for a meal today food was nice they have redone the place up my only issue took a child with autism loves nachos but hates cheese sauce asked them to replace with grated cheese and they refused said we can't do that think there customer service could be alot better

Had a carvery, Food cold, Gravy cold and watery. Not enjoyable.

Went here a month ago and the carvery was so nice. Went again Thursday 9th Jan, What a difference, food cold, gravy didn’t taste of anything as it was so watery. Told the waitress gravy was watery and in all fairness she asked if I wanted a new carvery which I said no as I was half way through it. She brought new gravy out which was just as watery and didn’t make it any better. Won’t be rushing back. What a waste of money!!

Good menu and the best carvery around

Just had a carvery today at lunchtime using the voucher. Brilliant value for money. Been here a few times and never been disappointed. Food was hot and fresh and very tasty. The bit that stood out the most though was the lady behind the bar taking the orders with blonde hair and a ponytail. As a customer service advisor myself for many years I look for good service. Her cheery manner and the way she greeted every customer and how she spoke to them was spot on. Very nice member of staff.

Vegetables at carvery were only just warm. Two friends ordered fish/scampi and chips and waited over half hour. No member of staff came to ask how the food was. The restaurant was not busy at the time but service poor

All you can eat breakfast, how can you beat that

Good carvery, good prices. Only critique was the Apple Pie got served with a very small portion of custard, would've been much better with more.

I left a review a couple of weeks ago to say how loud the music was. However, we came on Boxing Day as a large party and have to say it was brilliant. Well organised good service and food and not noisy at all. Several of the party said we will have to do it again next year. I think we will be back before that. Thank you

We (a party of six) had lunch here on Christmas Day our reservation was for 3.30pm, we arrived a little early and the restaurant was very busy, we managed to find seats in the bar area until our table was ready. We didn’t have to wait long before a lady showed us to our table and our preordered starters were served to us, which we all enjoyed. Then we went up to the carvery for our main course, a selection of beef, turkey and gammon were available including pigs in blankets and nice selection of vegetables and potatoes which were lovely and hot. Then a nice selection of desserts which were also preordered, the staff were very friendly, attentive and did a marvellous job of looking after all of us. Throughly enjoyable, Thanks to all of the staff for everything and Best Wishes For 2025.

Staff were really friendly and polite. Food was delicious. Possible improvement a little more room between our table and the next. U would struggle if 4 on each table to get in and out. We went on Christmas Day
