Like walking into a nightclub the music was so loud. Sulky staff had to be asked twice to turn it down. Then after 15 minutes we had to ask if they were serving food. 25 minutes later without eating we left. Everyone who came in after us got served whilst we waited and waited and waited and ……. Family had travelled from Bolton. What a nightmare place. I have been using Huntleys for breakfast for years. Never again. Zero Customer Care. They act like customers are a nuisance !

There is huge room for improvement with both the food and service. Arrived at 1.15 pm for lunch to be informed they had run out of bread so no sandwiches. The shop had lots of bread in so why could a member of staff not pop over and buy some. They were turning customers away due to not having bread. We didn’t receive our drinks at all despite reminding them. My scone was served cold despite asking for a warm scone. I was looking forward to having a lovely lunch with my daughter. A very disorganised cafe.

We booked a special charity afternoon tea here for over 20 people and WOW I can not recommend this beautiful café enough. They couldn’t have done any more for us. They catered for everyone’s dietary requirements and went above and beyond. They even added last minute guests. The staff were extremely friendly and the manager Craig was exceptional! 5 stars from all of our group 👏

Previously, I would give a 5☆ but over past month, I have noticed standards dropping big time. Left arm not know what right arm doing. When soup & food arrived, food was wrong & soup cold. Previous visit, had to ask for drink to be heated, after it served just warm. Big improvement needed in training from management.

Tried cafe Lazio for the first time and I can't review the food as they had nothing gluten free. But that's not really why I gave it such a low score. I am coeliac and I dont expect to find gluten free everywhere but when I asked if they did anything gluten free I just got a flat no. Made me feel very dismissed. My friend was shocked at their response so didn't order any food either. I have eaten several times in the restaurant and they have always been very accommodating with gluten free options.

Superb cakes and scones and the coffee was the best. Full marks for the welcoming staff. We will definitely return.

Called into the farm shop, so had a coffee whilst we were here. Very pleasant coffee shop with plenty of comfy sofas to relax on

Our classic car group met here for lunch today. The staff were excellent, so attentive and very friendly, they could not do enough for us. The food was lovely and everything arrived for everyone just as ordered. Thank you, we will be back!

I cannot believe how far below standard this place has fallen. We stopped here on Sunday for coffee and cakes, and had to wait for over an hour for them, outside in the freezing cold, as had our young Border Collie with us. I had to go in twice to remind them we were waiting outside. There didn't appear to be any senior member of staff on duty, instead there were 3 young people, 2 of them messing around behind the counter, and another who was trying to fulfil everyone's drinks orders. Needless to say, we will NOT be calling back anytime soon!!

Services was terribly slow. Should have left when it took 25 mins for them to take our order, 20 mins after drinks came and food not long after. food was ok, decent portion size but don’t think we will ever return

What a place, we ordered 2 coffees and 2 cakes and paid at the till. We sat with some friends and waited for our order, and waited, and waited, 3 staff behind d the counter doing nothing just talking. No other customers in the cafe either. I looked at them and they said is there anything you want I said yes my coffee and cakes ( 15 mins ) the items came, no apology no sorry nothing. Staff absolutely useless I don't know why they are employed. Think twice before I go there again.

Staff were verging on rude, looking down their noses at us. There were plenty of tables free but was told no tables free. No reserve signs on any tables. Would not recommend anyone coming here. Will definitely tell the rest of our music band, crew, colleagues and friends not to bother coming here.

Called to browse the shops. Had visited Huntleys several years ago for a meal and had been impressed with the whole complex. This visit however proved to be disappointing - much of the complex is run down and showing its age, some of the staff were obviously not interested in being there. Had to mention to the staff that there was no toilet paper in gents toilet (the one attached to the shop). The condition of the Koi pond and its filtration system was disgusting - something should be done to improve the conditions for the fish - urgently! Will not return there until situation improves.

Stopped with my friend for lunch after being at Gordale Scar & it was just what we needed They were very attentive to our needs being gluten free this is very important to us! The staff were soo lovely and friendly, really kind and welcoming The food was great too but the service really made it extra special ✨ thanks guys :)

Second visit after 1st equally shambolic visit. Orders brought to the table incomplete...dared to ask the staff where the rest is to get the stink eye in return. No acknowledgement of their errors. Poor inexperienced staff that have no customer care skills. Noisy squeaky equipment. No real ambience. Decent coffee though!

We have visited Cafe Lazio on many occasions and have always had good service from polite, friendly staff and have always enjoyed tasty food and excellent coffee. The atmosphere is great too, comfy furniture in a light setting.

Ive gotta say weve NEVER been disappointed with the Courtyard at Huntleys.. . Great food and great service

Came here on our way home to kill a bit of time and see what was on offer. We walked through the deli and made our way up the stairs ...I didn't realise there was a separate venue to the restaurant downstairs. The area is big and bright with large comfy chairs...we sat along the "glass bridge" where we could watch the world go by There's a good menu here, lots of choice and cake which is never a bad thing Coffee was really good as well. Loved the atmosphere here and would definitely come again

Had a table booked, they asked us to come back in a half hour, but had admitted others. They only had one glass for water. One meal was wrong, The coffee machine was broken. They only had two portions of dessert, and there were four if us. The staff were polite. No management in place, no attention to detail.

Been many times but has gotten worse the past couple of months, seem to have lost their former regular staff. Walked out today, place was short staffed, dirty tables and mess everywhere. Then saw the owner, twice, take dirty pots, rinse under cold water then reuse them for the next customers. Not good enough.

Food was okay, nice big portions but service slow and silly mistakes made. Restaurant cold. Clean enough but "sticky".

Only two staff on felt very sorry for them,not much food left at 13:00 Lots of dirty tables and pots all around . Cleared and cleaned the table myself

Very poor service staff stood around chatting, drinks arrived after the food, simple mistake coffee arrived with no milk we had to ask twice for the milk and in the end had to get up and get it.

I’ve been here with my two little ones many times. They loved the play area and the fact that there is amazing playground just outside the cafe. The staff are attentive and coffee and cakes great!

Really disappointing. Ordered 3 coffees, soup, 2 scones and a pancake. Paid on card and received no receipt and was told it would be brought to us. Coffees and soup followed but no sign of scones or pancakes. We eventually asked them where the rest of our order was and told they'd be a minute. And would we like 3 free drinks for the wait? We agreed and then we were told that they had no pancakes would we like a waffle instead and 3 free drinks? We said no to the waffle and drinks and asked for a refund of the food we hadn't received. I was expecting to be reimbursed back onto the card we paid on but cash was brought over and placed on the table. We left in a bad mood after being looking forward to lunch out. Be wary if you go. The coffee was good but not worth the general lack of service.

Excellent choice of meals and good customer service. Meals were freshly cooked and extremely tasty. Portions extremely plentiful

Rude staff. Asked to order food and nobody came. 4 staff on duty and it was empty. They would rather clean glasses than take orders. Lost the best part of £100 orders, 4 adults and 2 children. Avoid.

Went at the weekend and what a terrible experience we had,when we walked in all the staff were stood around the bar talking and then the older lady stood leaning on the bar just looked at us in disgust and bluntly said just sit down, after 10 minutes we then went and asked for some menus (to be honest we should of really left then ) 15 minutes later someone came over and asked if we wanted any drinks so we ordered them thinking okay just a bit of a glitch, 25 minutes later drinks came and waitress dumped them down and walked away without even asking if we wanted to order food so then I had to get up and go ask if we could order to the reply of ‘oh right yeah’ food didn’t take to long and was alright but it’s not the restaurant I remember as it used to be really good I’m sorry but I don’t recommend this place and most certainly will tell my friends and family not to go and waste there money as I won’t be doing again

Went with friends at the weekend! Bloody awful, staff made us feel like we were inconveniencing them by going in , my friend said we should go there as she used to go all the time and then felt so embarrassed by how bad the experience was, the older lady leaning on the bar when we came in was so rude how are you meant to make customers want to come in with people like that working there, good luck as I know a lot of people will not be recommending you any time soon

Four of us for lunch on Saturday afternoon. The place was quite empty and this is not how we remember Huntley's at all - usually heaving on a weekend. Staff were attentive - perhaps a tad overly so (4 separate staff asked us four times if we were ready to order - twice did so before our two friends had even arrived on our booked table for four). Perhaps a dedicated member of staff to each table would resolve that? We were given a jug of water and glasses. The food was okay. The "3 meat roast dinner" was huge! But I didn't know that the vegetables served with my friends' meal were also part of my meal. Everything was tasty although the vegetable and potatoes our friend had were cold. No problem at all when we asked them to heat them up and they did so quite quickly with an apology. Two pie dishes were fine - but the pastry was a bit soggy. They didn't ask if we would like any further condiments so we got up and helped ourselves to vinegar and black pepper. For four main meals and three teas it was just over £50 which we didn't think was too bad. The teapots leaked all over the table. This place has a lot going for it - the interior is all farmhouse decor and really quite pleasant to be in. They could just do to sort out the organisation of the staff who were just a bit overly keen to get our order taken. It's a shame that it isn't the bustling eatery it once was as the atmosphere was lacking today. But, we didn't pay a fortune and value for money-wise, it wasn't bad. There is ample parking.

A warm welcome, table ready, with menus. We were a party of 4. Starters - 1 black pudding tower; 1 mountain of ribs, and one smoked salmon roulade. All three left our plates clean. Mains, two of us had delicious salmon with prawn Hollandaise sauce, each with a rosti and roast potatoes. Two had the fillet steak on a leek and potato mash, great gravy and plenty of it. A selection of fresh vegetables filled up the table. Very generous helpings and we almost finished them. The non-starter finished off with stem ginger sponge, custard and cream. We had just enough attention throughout, and it made our day to have recommended here to meet our Niece and Nephew. Thanks again, all.

The breakfast is excellent value for money, large portions, proper sausages and nice thick bacon. The food came quickly and was hot.Staff very friendly and efficient. Will definitely call again if we are in the area.

I have been to this place several times for something to eat and never had any issue and the food has been great, however on this occasion (2nd October) it was a different story. Me and my mum was going to Liverpool for the day/night and we thought we would stop off at Huntley’s on the way for breakfast. We arrived at 11:15 (breakfast stops serving at 11:30), we were seated at table 4 quickly enough so no issues, we ordered two farmhouse breakfasts and a couple of brews. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks, when they came they didn’t come with a teaspoon or any sugar so I had to ask for these. After 45 minutes, we still had not received our food so I had to go to the bar and ask how long this would be as we had somewhere to be. A couple who arrived at the same time as us were just paying and leaving. The girl went and asked for us and said it won’t be long now, there was no apology or anything although she was polite. After a further 10 minutes our food arrived, at this point we had been waiting an hour so had gone past being hungry. The breakfast was nice and there was plenty of it but we just couldn’t finish it. When the food was served, again there was no apology for the wait, staff didn’t come back to check if everything was ok. We then went to the bar to pay the bill, the manager asked how everything was which is when we explained that it wasn’t good to be honest and we felt we had just been forgotten about. The manager was lovely and very apologetic, he explained that there were 3 new staff members which we understood and he offered us a complimentary drink but we could not accept this as it had been that long we had to go, nothing else was offered as an alternative such as taking the drinks we had off the bill which would have been the same thing. We came away and don’t think we will be returning unfortunately. It’s sad because it is normally a lovely place to go for food but it was just really really bad service. I hope they can rectify this for other customers.

I highly recommend a visit. The breakfast we had was great and we returned the next day for a breakfast sandwich which did not disappoint. The staff are amazing. Cannot remember a time when we have received such polite and professional service. We will return again tomorrow before we head off back home.

We were a large party of 14 and despite there being a large private booking downstairs, service was quick. There was a slight mix up with the order which was quickly rectified - food was delicious and hot. Would recommend!
