Sainsbury's Cafe in South Ribble

Hab breakfast here 12.8 24 was good value and tasted good and belive me I have my own cafe so no what a breakfast should be like nice friendly staff .

By far this was the worst meal I have ever had the pleasure of paying for. I had Cod and chip. The cod had clearly been left warming all day as it was dry, discoloured and shrivelled. I couldn't eat half of the chips as they where overcooked to the point that they where rock hard, and as for the peas they had also been overcooked and where brown. Truly shocking.

The breakfasts were terrible and overpriced. I'm afraid to say I won't be visiting again. Made a complaint to the server who just wasn't interested.

Two of us just visited the cafe for the first time in 8 years,. Ordered soup, a cold drink, a hot drink, and a cheese toastie, Queued up for 5 minutes to order. The cafe was quiet. They gave us a number on a stand to put on a table. Then the following happened 1 Soup came very quickly (it was hot and tasty) plus the cold drink, The waiter took the number away. There was NO bread with it. Maybe Sainsbury's don't have bread?? 2 Twenty five minutes went by. The restaurant was still quiet. That's it !! ** A blind man could see that they had forgotten completely about the second half of the order. They said "we shouted for you four times" Obviously the number thing on the table only existed to give us a sense of false reassurance. The manager kindly offered a refund, which was appreciated Why is it that the only place on earth where you are unable to get anything to eat for thirty minutes is when you're in a restaurant? Why?

Today my sister and I called in this Sainsbury Cafe upstairs for the 1st time in 2yrs since Covid we both ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo when it arrived at our table I can honestly say it was Utter Slop!!! How on earth can you get a baked potato and a tin of tuna with a squirt of mayo so, so wrong it was disgraceful we eventually got a refund without even touching it the staff's excuse was: We buy it in from an outside source so we don't prepare it??? What a pathetic excuse!! Sainsburys Bamber Bridge management take notice of these reviews on Tripadvisor and get your act together regarding the food you serve in your cafe!! Both my sister and I are both employed in the food industry and if we served anything like that at our place of work we would be sacked on the spot!! 😡😡

Called in for a quick bite to eat ordered 2 all day breakfast waited half an hour for the food to arrive and the eggs were like rubber asked for brown bread toast came as multi grain

I've been several times whilst in store. Pre Covid it was kind of self service for most snacks, some things were brought to your table. Typical supermarket cafe fare and very good value for the price.

My wife and I shopped in the store and went up to the cafe for lunch. The room was full of noisy children and the tables had not been cleared or cleansed so we had to do our own. My wife queued for some time before being finally served. The food was OK but not worth the wait. Disappointing visit. They hadn’t got the sandwiches my wife required

Wish I’d gone somewhere else! Well happy new year. Had a trip out today as we had nothing to do at home. Called in for a few bits in store and decided to have lunch in the cafe. I’ve visited on many occasions but today just wasn’t good at all. Cafe was very quiet with roughly 12 in including myself & my partner. Feet stuck to the floor, dirty tables and members of staff sounding like they don’t want to be at work. Disappointing experience. Better luck next time.

I used the very accomodating toilet facilities to unload my xmas dinner. The cup of tea that ensued was very nice, pipeing hot and tasted very much like hot tea. I would not recommend the toilet facilities though, after my tea i needed a wee but could not enter due to a foul smell.

Oh dear not very good food was not hot on arrival had to ask for it to be heated up. Fish and chips £5.50 Ham egg and chips £5.50 Tea each £1.30 Why is it that the place is nearly empty the staff slow the food 45 minutes in coming and then not hot!

We had a bit of a wait today as it was lunch time. Good choice on menu. Had Christmas lunch which we didn't have long to wait for after we had paid. Reasonable variety of soft drinks, sandwiches, hot meals, cakes and pastries.

Waited 15 mins in the queue,ordered egg on toast ,it took 30mins to be served approximately 15 people in the cafe,i vist this cafe regular,its just getting worse,dirty tables no staff,people asking for their money back ,the place is a shambles,the manager must be accountable for this fiasco.Dont Bother.

Just been into sainsburys.Ordered 2 fish and chips.No fish.What is this country coming to.A supermarket full of fish but none for the cafe.Picked 2 forks up and they were both full of dried on food.Ordered a tea for 1 with the tea bag left out.He put the tea bag in the tea pot with the water.Ordered a latte in a take out cup and he put it in a mug.No apologies.Just carry on as normal.

Breakfast! ... Relatively quick service ... but .. Bacon, hash brown, beans, all luke warm! ... Fried egg hard yolk and greasy (and cold); toast cold and greasy.. but at least the sausages were hot!! Simply awful... not up to any cafe standards at all ... with exception of the service.

Each Friday we take our youngest granddaughter for lunch in one of our local supermarkets. Sainsbury's is alwsys her favourite but it's a while since we last went as our last experience left much to be desired. Last Friday she talked us into going again and we reluctantly agreed. We wished we hadn't! Our arder wasone child's sandwich meal, a baked potato with butter and salad and a soup (chicken and veg) & a BLT sandwich for me. Firstly, my wife had to cajole the server into finding out what the soup option was. Then there was s discussion about what should be in the kid's meal. The food arrived fairly quickly and my tasteless soup (absolutely no seasoning) wasn't even warm. My BLT had seen better days with soggy bread , slimy lettuce and mushy tomato. The bacon element was scarce. The kid's nesl was a measly half sandwich, cheap crisps and a yoghurt. No fruit was available. Now had we arrived late? No, it was 12.15, the start of lunch service and a shopful of ftuit only a staircase away! The baked potato was okay but the butter pat tiny anf the salad mainly that Italian spiky stuff that's difficult to chew. If all that wasn't bad enough the place needed a good clean with half eaten toast and banana strewn across the floor. Sainsbury take a lesson from Asda on clraning. Did we complain - no. What's the point when the staff can't even be bothered to learn what the soup is. The cafe is now off our list for good. Jim

Vague system for serving customers with people bumbling about, tried to order lunch but offhand comment to serving put me right off and decided if that’s your attitude, I’ll not bother. Google reviews not much better from other customers either. No longer a place I would like to visit tired and looking rather grubby. Time Sainsbury’s updated everything staff restaurant menu !!

Only been for breakfast and me and my husband love it. Great value for money and the banana shakes are amazing x

I can’t describe how bad this is . We go regularly twice s week. It’s been so bad the last few times . The grumpy lady looks like she’s now been moved and now the service is still terrible . I want a quick pot of tea and my parents were meeting me . It took 30 mins in the queue , we counted 25 in the queue and 10 seated . So disorganised . A lot of areas need addressing . It’s dirty pot everywhere on Sunday and last Tuesday .

Large bright upstairs dining room. Mainly pleasant staff. Not a huge selection and some dishes weren't available. We had to wait for clean knives. However, very convenient to be able to eat there.

It is what it is, really! Went there after a bad meal at the poachers we had to send back, as just wanted a quick lunch before shopping (NEVER shop hungry is a good rule to stick by!).

I ate here with my mum and daughter, surprisingly the food was of a higher than expected standard for a supermarket cafe, the cafe was very clean and the staff very helpful.

Went today with my 7 year old and my mum. We ordered, and as we were waiting for drinks it was clear the staff knew the people behind us. We sat down and waited for our food, and waited and waited. Then we realised the people behind us had got their hot food and we hadn't got ours. We asked and eventually after 25 mins it arrived. We had only ordered a toasted tea cake and childrens chicken nuggets and chips. I went to ask for tomato ketchup for my son and was barked at that it would come with the food. I pointed out we had the food already and they bought some over. The cafe was fairly empty for a bank holiday Monday at 1.00 p.m but I can see why. Don't be rushing back.

Lovely cafe with great choice. Breakfast was lovely. Staff great, clearing tables the whole time. Great choice of cakes too.

The cafe at Sainsbury’s is good for coffee and cake but I wouldn’t choose to have a meal here. It’s okay but only okay rather than good- ping food!

Turned up at 8 am for breakfast expecting nothing much. Only got avocado on sourdough bread! Really ripe avocado. Two slices for £2. I'll be back. Nice airy restaurant too.

After a long day we popped into Sainsbury’s for a quick drink and a light bite. We opted for Carrot cake which was truly amazing, light and very tasty and the big surprise was the soup of the day. A huge bowl of homemade style chicken and veg soup. What a surprise that was. The flavour and quality was second to none.

After a morning shopping we went upstairs to the cafe which displayed a good selection of food on the menu displayed.we eventually settled for sausages and a salmon salad,both were excellant and good portions and came within ten minutes.Good value and a good place to eat locally.

Had a meal in this café and was pleasantly surprised. They had seating booths and the table were spaced out. The quality of the food was great and such good value. I would definitely recommend this café upstairs in Sainsbury's.

Food as you would expect nothing exceptional or all eatable. the staff are really friendly, The only real down side is that if you go early in the morning there is only ever one poor soul serving.

We LOVE the cooked breakfast here! Can get busy at a weekend just before they stop serving breakfast so don’t leave it last minute! There’s always plenty of seating though.

I at times have lunch at Sainsburys with my work colleagues and at other times with my daughter when shopping.

We came as mum wasn't well and wanted cottage pie. This is a good meal reasonable price £5. I had a jacket potatoe. The server was very friendly.

Estuve con mi hijo y, entre otras cosas, pedí un sándwich de tocino, grasa sin pagar y luego me dijeron que no podían tomar la grasa de la panceta. Cuando pregunté por qué me dijeron porque no hacerlo. Pedí una devolución y luego me dijeron que tendría que ser en efectivo ya que no podía volver a una tarjeta de reembolso, así que si quería volver a la tarjeta que tendría que ir a servicios al cliente.

Nice food and friendly staff. We had a long day ahead so this was the fuel we needed. Prices are good too

Called into the cafe this am with my daughter & grandaughter after doing some shopping in store,it was very busy,tables not cleared-had to clear our own but no sign of anyone coming to clean it whilst we were there. Had scone with jam & cream x2 which also included a coffee-this seemed to be good value.However had my 1 yr old grand daughter with us & when we asked if they could warm baby food up for us -was told they couldn't for health & safety reasons!!!.I realise they do serve suitable foods for babies but as my granddaughter is dairy intolerant -often these foods are unsuitable & its not worth the risk of trying them hence she has homemade food.-Most cafes nowadays will provide facilities to warm baby food-but not this one-perhaps it needs reviewing.I do understand that cafes don't want to be liable for possible risk of scalds from the foods they warm-so just ensure there is a disclaimer so that parents and carers are responsible for the children in their care.Probably won't go here again-on the whole seemed a typical supermarket cafe-offering reasonably priced food -nothing fancy-but just ok if you need a quick bite to eat.

The upstairs café is always a decent meal, don't expect fine dining, but for a café meal it is always hits the spot.

Let's not beat about the bush - this is a supermarket cafe so should not be compared to high end eating establishments. It's conveniently located above the Sainsbury superstore at Bamber Bridge with plenty of free parking. Saying that, at busy times, it can take an age to get in and out with long traffic queues backing up onto the main road traffic lights and car parking marshals required to usher vehicles into very tight car parking spaces. Plenty of disabled and parent with child parking. Lift available to first floor. Seating in the cafe is well spaced with room to manoeuvre prams, wheelchairs etc so good for disabled or those with children. Lots of wooden high chairs available for use. You can complete your shop first if preferred as can bring trollies into the cafe and "park" them up nearby. Decor is pretty bland greys and whites but seating is comfortable with choices of chairs or sofas some by the window. Selection of newspapers available to read.Menu is cheap with main meals such as vegetarian lasagne coming in at £5.00 at the time of writing and choices to swap sides of salad for chips etc. Staff doing some gentle complaining behind the counter in earshot of customers and some noisy clanging about not a great advert. Hot meals are brought to the table but customers to collect own cutlery etc and also note customers are expected to clear their own tables at self clear station.Toilets at cafe level and at ground floor next to lift. Free Wi-Fi is available and it is fairly quiet out of peak hours so it's a convenient place to catch up with mobile working if necessary. Can also rack up some more Nectar points here. Some improvement to customer service experience from staff behind the counter needed - more cheerful, some smiles, increase eye contact etc. However, young male employee clearing tables was very amiable and seemed to enjoy his job which made all the difference.

We stayed in the nearby Premier Inn and popped across to Sainsbury's for breakfast, plus a bit of shopping. Breakfast was very good value for money, two nice coffees and breakfasts for under £13. Service was friendly and quick. I had the meat free breakfast which was fine though I'm never too keen on the 'sausage'. My husband had the full breakfast plus black pudding (80p) which he enjoyed. Nicely cooked and presented. It is a large store and had everything we wanted on the shopping front. All in all a very good result.

The food in this place is delicious every time I go in no matter what time of day! Even at the busiest times, staff are friendly and helpful and food is served without delay and obviously freshly made.

Had breakfast here several times whilst staying locally. The large breakfasts are good value but unfortunately the coffee is rather bitter and certainly not to my taste. There are several options available for breakfasts other than the usual fry up. Always quite busy so it obviously has a good following.

I ate here on Friday 25th November for lunch and I was disappointed with many dirty tables and long wait for service. When my hot food arrived it was cold! this cafe used to be good, but now seems to be going down hill! Sort it out Sainsburys! you are a very rich company so pay for the staff to make it better.

Visited café whilst my wife completed shopping. It was fairly quiet with customers, service was quick and my coffee was okay! The café was bright and clean with plenty of seating.

Not sure how long the new restaurant has been open - our first visit in some while - but we were impressed. Went for a simple lunch of jacket potatoes and cups of tea.Food was good quality, promptly served and good portions.The restaurant is light and airy and very pleasant for a breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.So enjoyed the baked potatoes (tasty spuds) and trimmings that we decided to have some cake (scrummy) and yogurt for desert.We wish all supermarket restaurants were this good.

Full English for around a fiver ,yes please .basic setting but food cooked fresh and piping hot .you can add stuff or subtract as you wish.nice array of drinks ,all you need to set u up for day .necter points too.

We called in here whist shopping for breakfast. There are plenty of breakfast options and the food is of good quality. The staff in the cafe were friendly and very helpful. The cafe itself is very clean and the staff work hard to keep on top of this.

Stopped off here for a post holiday breakfast on returning from Mexico. Service was great, polite staff and my Big Breafast arrived in good time. Well made and hit the spot after an eight our flight.

I find this cafe has a lovely pleasant atmosphere with lots of glass for a good all round view which adds to the overall experience.The food is of good quality and their cappuccinos are good value for money at £2.25 for a large one.Jacket potatoe with beans and a salad was also good value for money.I would recommend a visit to this cafe as it has it all.

The staff work hard here to accommodate their customers but the place in inundated with young families so it's very noisy and busy. Good value for money

Called in ... my wife went shopping and I went to the cafe .. upstairs .. but a lift to get you up there if you need it . lots of seating .. a little hot and noisy for me ... not a big menu

We called in for lunch and shopping at 12.30pm on a Friday and the cafe was quite busy. We ordered cod, chips and mushy peas and were pleased to hear that the meals were on special offer. They'd knocked off a welcome 90p each!However, the wait was quite lengthy but we thought that this could be due to the kitchen staff making everything to order. Finally, after 20 minutes, our order came but the chips and peas were luke warm at best. The fish was a good size and was warm enough.What a disappointment as we've eaten in this cafe many times and have always been well satisfied. It could have been down to short staffing or lack of attention to detail in the kitchen but either way, we'll carefully consider our lunchtime venue next time as there are many alternatives around. I don't mind paying a little bit more as long as my food is hot!

Visited after shopping for a coffee and muffin. It was quiet at the time, service was quick and quite friendly. Cafe was clean, just ideal for that relaxed coffee and cake break, lots of more substantial meals as well.

We eat here around once a week as it's local to us and there is a good selection of food. The cafe is usually very clean (unless you hit the lunch time rush when it is absolutely packed).For a supermarket cafe the food is very good. The hot food is reasonably priced but the cakes are a bit of a rip off. You can buy them from the instore bakery for a quarter of the cafe price.The staff are friendly and service is fairly quick. If your looking for a quick bite then I'd recommend the cafe. I always avoid it between 12:30 and 1:30 though as it gets really busy and the queue is massive.

Came on a quiet Sunday to do our weekly shop and grab some lunch! No queue when ordered food. Friendly service. Reasonably priced food. Kids dinners great value for money. Got drunk and fruit with their main meal. I had lasagne. Very very nice! Mother had jacket with beans and cheese. Again no complaints. Friendly waitress. And place spotlessly clean. Nothing negative to say. Great experience

After standing in the queue for a considerable length of time to order tea and two milkshakes it took 10 minutes. The lady on the till kept charging for ridiculous items that people never ordered which resulted in both the cafe assistants having to sort out the till.

Had a coffee early morning in sainsbury's cafe and a bacon sandwich was ok and a good price got free parking

It's a supermarket café so there is not much else to say. Self service and standard fare. It can get very busy at times and be a bit cramped.

Whilst the wife was shopping I decided to have a snack in the cafe at this branch of Sainsbury's so after perusing the menu just opted for a sandwich.... what a disappointment. A tiny bit of lettuce and very thin slices of cheese and ham but the pickle, what pickle, just looked like the knife had been dipped in jar of Branston pickle and lightly dragged over the bread. Sainsbury's you should hang your heads in shame to call my sandwich a sandwich.

Friendly staff and a standard fayre on the menu. The full English breakfasts are great and arr a Sunday regular for us. For a supermarket restaurant the coffee is amazing!

Great full English! Just make sure you get there in time, a queue starts to build up towards the end of breakfast time and you don't want to miss out!

I visited the cafe on many occasions I am pleased to see that the standard of food and drinks is consistent. I have enjoyed the breakfast bloomer with a nice hot coffee and sat and read the free paper . It is nice to see that the calories are displayed alongside the food to help with making choices even if its not what I want to see. The staff are very helpful and friendly although the service is somewhat slow. .

Stayed over night at the premier Inn at Bamber bridge. Decided to have breakfast in the sainsburys cafe. Quick service and the food was hot. Handy if you need to go shopping afterwards .

What you get is pretty standard café fare. Coffee always tends to be nice if occasionally not as hot as it should be. Long queues can be expected at lunchtimes so be prepared for a wait. Prices of cake are a little on the high side at £2.50 a slice. On the positive side there is usually plenty of seats and the staff are pleasant and helpful.

No plates, no cups. Staff not knowing their roles. Pretty poor all round. The restaurant was clean and the staff were helpful when you got their attention. Lot of staff here and not a huge load of tasks to get right but not saisfactory.

I've eaten here a few times and always had good food and service. Once when my food arrived I was feeding my baby and they offered to keep my food warm which was lovely and hasn't happened elsewhere. It's a good supermarket cafe much better than some I've visited!

Visited for breakfast whilst staying at the hotel across the road intending to save a few quid. Wished we hadn't bothered. Nice coffee and toasted tea cake but my daughter's breakfast roll had bacon and sausage that had obviously been sitting on a hot plate for ages. Was inedible. As it was, it wouldn't have cost much more to have had breakfast at the hotel, which we did the following day and very nice it was too! We should have made a fuss at the time but had been in a rush, so we didn't.

We wanted a late brunch and were not disappointed although there was quite a wait for our food to arrive. The staff were pleasant and helpful which is what you would expect from Sainsburys. It's a cafe above the main store overlooking the car park.There is disabled access via a lift and the cakes on display looked great although we did not buy one.We would go again as it was good value for money.

I came here with my family for breakfast. It turned out that their all-in veggie breakfast didn't include tea or coffee. I was not given a choice of brown or wholemeal toast, only white. And when I asked for marmalade for my toast I was told that's an extra charge. By this time I was too tired to queue up again and pay separately for a portion of marmalade- this isn't a good way to start the day!

Clean resturant and a nice breakfast with friendly staff and good portion size. Ideal for a quick break before or after shopping. Not been apart from breakfast but would definitely try.

This is a pretty decent cafe as far as supermarket cafe's go.The food is usually cooked well and they have a fairly decent variety of options as long as you're not looking for healthy options. The only healthy option is a couple of tiny salads in the fridge. A main meal will set you back around £5.There is a good selection of cakes but most people don't buy them as they are the same cakes from the shop floor but at 3 times the price.Two meals and two drinks averages at around £15.The staff are friendly enough and the cafe is fairly clean.

We used this cafe on two occasions (lunch and dinner) and found the staff were friendly and did a good job although woefully understaffed resulting in slow service at the lunch time meal.The food was good and reasonably priced.Management of Sainsburys, you need to support your staff more as they are trying hard with few resources. Maybe then the reviews will improve.

This cafe is in a Sainsbury store access by lift or stairs it is very light and airy with the large windows letting in light.Basic layout with different types of seating, the food is very good value for money,very clean and pleasant ,I have had breakfast there on many occasions and always found it to be excellent value for money,the service on occasions has been a little slow but not a real problem,the staff have always been very pleasant and helpful.Nectar card accepted all round good value for money

Visited for breakfast on two sunday mornings. Both times the staff jlhave been friendly and the breakfast better when compared to other local supermarkets. Although the self clean table idea is not to my taste.

the food here is disgusting no other words for it. the chef wants sacking its a shocking place to eat. like the title says ive been once and will not be back.

We hadn't eaten and were here shopping, so, against my better judgement perhaps as these places are notoriously hit and miss, we went up the stairs to the 'restaurant'.It's nothing special on the eye, just like a canteen.We asked if they were still serving hot food, it was 6.15pm and the girl told us that they hadn't much left but the lasagne and the fish and chips didn't appear to be crossed out, so we ordered those.It cost about £15 with two drinks, which I think is on the steep side for a place like this.The order took an eternity to arrive and when it did, my fish was some sort of small, hard, curly batter, with overcooked white stuff inside it! cold rubbery chips and shrivelled tinned peas! and although the lasagne was ok, it too was accompanied by a few luke warm chips.I noticed the women on a nearby table take something back to the counter, it was either soup, or a jacket potato in a bowl, I heard her complaining about the temperature and I wish I'd followed her example and returned my fish but who has the time or inclination for that, we had stuff to be getting on with - so I ate it.The staff are vacant, chatting to each other, wandering around with clip boards, stacking chairs at the other side of the cafe, the atmosphere is irritating really - it's like you're a bit 'in the way'.This cafe has huge glass windows and the sun streams in through them and can be very hot, and dazzling; there doesn't seem to be any escape, as the scruffy blinds are always pulled back and just don't look as if they work!I quite liked the way the cakes had the calorific value displayed and I have had morning coffee there before which was nice but overall, it's a poor excuse for a restaurant honestly. I much preferred it before when it was downstairs and quite the bustling coffee shop within the store, staff were nicer then too.Frequent this place for a drink and a sit down if you must but give the food a miss is my advice!
