The best restaurants serving British food in Preston North West

The pub has a great atmosphere and nice cheap hot food, great for my family and I. I will be visiting again at some point soon and even though the pub was busy all staff were on point and pleasent to speak to with food coming out very quick.

Been going here for years. Today, 11 of us were met by grumpy staff (not the young lady) and this was very disappointing. We had a 40% discount voucher but one of us paid without knowing. Manager refused to refund this. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Such a shame, it only takes one bad experience. We usually visit in an evening, perhaps different staff.

Lovely meal at the Wellington. Went with my family, service was excellent, food lovely and really attentive staff. Would definitely recommend. staff were excellent and really looked after the whole party.

Seems to have improved a lot. I hadn't been for a while as it wasn't very good the last time I visited. I recently went in as a last minute plan and was pleasantly surprised. Looks like there may have been new staff taken on. All the tables were clean and tidy. The food came out hot and to a good standard. Good value for money.

My nana went to the restaurant, and had a mushroom dish and the mushrooms were hard. This was the 27th Feb 2025. Later that day, she was throwing up and mushrooms were in it. She called the restaurant the next morning and the lady on the phone was very unprofessional and unhelpful: not listening, no empathy and said it was Covid.

I visited this morning the hotel to deliver something to one of the hotel guest where I received an excellent guest or stakeholder services by the reception member called Paul and one girl ambassador or receptionist at the hotel reception. They helped me out of the box which is very admirable. I found an impresive atmosphere and friendly communication between team members which indicates they have received a satisfactory training by the seniors. My wife and I ate here early evening and everything was excellent. I had a starter and main course and my wife a main course. All was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. The menu has a great selection so we will definitely be back to try more. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Excellent all round.

Went here as part of a large coach party, they were very organised and provided waiter service. There was a choice of three starters/mains & puddings all of which looked lovely and my choices and those of my party were lovely. Good service all over.

Very disappointing. Food woeful - not much to choose from and all very basic. Staff non -engaging and not very welcoming.

When it’s open it’s great! However, I’ve lost count the number of times we’ve come to visit the cafe and it’s been closed. Very disappointing and not a good way to manage a business. Given up going there now and it’s never open on a Saturday.

I’m quite fussy when it comes to chips. However the chip butty I had at Moor Nook Chippy today was probably one of the best I’ve ever had.

Warm Welcome on entry and served at the till. Alyssa brought desert for my daughter with a smile and a brief chat. Made my daughter’s day. Food was excellent. I took a small doggy bag home in a tub which Alyssa brought over with a smile. Really enjoyed our experience today . It makes such a difference to a wick bite to ear going out for tea if staff are as lovely as the ones today. Thank you so much!

After a disastrous visit with the worst service I’ve ever experienced I my 66 years, to The Stags Head pub in Goosnargh, I would like to thank The Grapes pub staff for squeezing us in even though it was a very busy Sunday service and saving the day with a delicious Sunday Dinner, served with a smile by pleasant staff… within 5 minutes of placing our order. Well worth more than the Tenner tip. 👍 #wishIwasricher.

We choosen on a night time visit,the coffee being great,the staff members kind and helpful. The place is very close to restaurants, and other services, and nice and cosy to sit down for a while :-)

Been here a few times, and due to husbands illness...on my own. I have been treated so well, like we live here rather than visitors. Absolutely love this bar, thanks to bar staff, owner and locals. Wouldn't go anywhere else x
