When it’s open it’s great! However, I’ve lost count the number of times we’ve come to visit the cafe and it’s been closed. Very disappointing and not a good way to manage a business. Given up going there now and it’s never open on a Saturday.

What a lovely community cafe run completely by volunteers. We went as a family and the staff were great with my little girl, food is simple, coffee is great, staff helpful and friendly. Was surprised it is run by volunteers as a community initiative, what a great idea.

This little haunt is lovely! We only live down the road & have treated ourselves twice now; the first visit bacon & egg barms with a coffee each & today, full English breakfasts with one tea & one coffee - superb, could not fault at all. The ladies are all delightful & extremely welcoming. It's lovely to have such a quaint cafe so close to home with such tasty produce. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Cannot wait for the winter warmers like home-made pea & ham soup & pie and peas.....mmmmm!!

What a lovely place, it has plenty of out door seating and ample seating indoors. All the staff who wait on are volunteers and are so friendly. The food was lovely, I ordered a Tuna sandwich and it was overflowing with filling. The carrot cake was delicious. I will most definitely be going back.

Hi, went today for the seniors 3 course menu at £4.99. very disappointed, processed fish, tinned peas, no flavour in the soup. Tinned rice pudding. This is for seniors who eat too much processed food. A lost opportunity to feed them fresh produce. I can feed my husband and I for 3 days on fresh produce for £9.98 it cost.

Found this cozy little cafe snuggled in the village of Broughton, just north of Preston. Very friendly staff and an amazing coffee and Victoria Sponge. I’ll be back for more!

Driven passed this little cafe so many times but never stopped to go in. Today we decided let’s stop for a spot of breakfast. I’m gluten free and as my husband says the awkward one!! They were great, greeted with a smile and made to feel very welcome. We asked if they had anything gluten free and was told they have gluten free bread and can adapt. We ordered two coffees one with oat milk and a bacon and egg on GF toast and a bacon baton. I can not fault it the food was brilliant and we will definitely be coming back.

Heard about this place from a friend, for anyone looking it’s on the old A6 passed what used to be the Golden Ball next to the Residence. It’s got a lovely seating area outside & is bigger than expected inside, it’s wheelchair accessible & has a large disabled toilet too, the prices are very reasonable. We were allocated a table to the rear away from the doors & between the 3 of us, we had a soup of the day which was pea & ham & delicious, made with proper steepy peas, a bacon & egg barm & a sausage & egg barm washed down with a lovely latte each! Incredibly clean, very friendly & with a good array of cakes & scones (again couldn’t manage any as we were full). There was a constant glow of clients during the time we were there so very popular. Please note the car park is further along to the left next to the shops. Delightful little cafe, well worth a visit!

Just enjoyed a fabulous lunch served by Michelle and her team of friendly volunteer staff who couldn't do enough for us. The place was packed, a testament to its popularity. I have been before for tea and cake and wanted to try out this special lunch deal.

Went here as part of a large coach party, they were very organised and provided waiter service. There was a choice of three starters/mains & puddings all of which looked lovely and my choices and those of my party were lovely. Good service all over.

Fantastic place for celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. Superb service matched the equally superb food. First time dining here and very pleasantly surprised. You wouldn't expect to to be where it is, or for it to be so lovely inside. Great choices on the menu and specials. Very tasty and well presented food. We will definitely be back!

I visited on October 31st and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant had a great balance of tables—plenty of open seating, yet still lively with other patrons. The environment was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The food was delicious, with each dish showing quality ingredients and careful preparation. The flavors were delightful, and everything arrived at just the right temperature. The staff truly stood out for their politeness and attentiveness. They made sure our needs were met promptly without being intrusive, contributing to a seamless dining experience. Overall, a wonderful visit that I would highly recommend!

We visited the Leyland Lion with family and friends we've been a few times before and it's been great sadly on this visit it wasn't.The pub was very busy which is fine as it was a Friday afternoon. We needed a table that seated five but struggled to get one. After a few minutes we manged to find one however the table was still full of empty plates and food.I went to the bar and politely asked a female staff member could someone please come and clear and clean our table. At the time she was tapping away on a tablet I assume sorting out app orders. The look she gave me was awful she didn't even reply just nodded her head in what looked like annoyance that I'd interrupted her or even asked. She did come to clean the table but her face was now like thunder.Me and my wife thanked her and again got no response then all the while we were in the pub spending a lot of money she just scowled in our direction. This won't stop us visiting the pub in the future but staff need to learn to be polite. One more point is I understand it was busy but having worked a lot in pubs myself in the past there's nothing worse than saying to customers Who's next this just causes friction staff should be actually clocking who's next??..
