They do a gorgeous meat and potato pie 🥧 would highly recommend. It has lots of pepper.

Not happy! I've been here a while back, looks like it's changed hands now, I got a breakfast, supposed to be large, Breakfast doesn't look large, bacon was hard, eggs cold, hard porched, not asked if wanted eggs runny or not. Mushrooms shrivelled to death like they've been constantly rewarmed. Won't be coming again.

The quality of the pies has really gone down recently and overpriced. Lots of products have appeared to be made smaller but still asking for full price. I know many people who used to choose Berry's over other pie shops but now they say avoid.

Great product and prices are very reasonable.

I ordered a takeaway breakfast to be delivered Monday 29th May. All I can say is the quality of food was very poor. The bacon was not cooked it was like leather, the rest of the food barely warm. I thought that with it being a local bakery I would get the food hot and of a good standard. I will not order again .

came here a few times and always been pleasant, today I came and I ordered a pie which I didn’t receive! And one of them batons was missing red onion and salad cream (May as well have made it myself) batons was also stale too you could tell 0% effort went in today.

Berrys pies as was good and cheap now rubbish awfull taste and 3 times the money bloody awful since taken over.

Love pies? Been here yet? No? What the Heck! This is the place for pies but they do cakes and sandwiches..pies tend to be ready by 11 am..gone by 1pm or with limited selection, peak times there will be a queue., butter pies for the butter pie virgins are probably in the top 5 i have ever had

Lovely food lovely people. Could speed things up a bit though to match people's life on the go. 10 minutes plus for a sausage butty.

Small local bakers. Breakfast sandwiches, pies, pastries. All baked fresh. Parking can be tricky as the shop is on a main road. Worth a visit

If you want to prosper go back to making pies like they were when you took over the shop. As currently the pies are of a poor quality and over priced. .My wife purchased a steak pies that was dry and hardley any meat filling in the pie. Absolutely should have taken it back but never did. For over 20 year we have been happily purchasing excellent pies. But since the take over several year ago quality and quantity have gone drastically downhill. Steer clear.

Very good, they are always bizzy, at lunch times, you can get hot drinks now to.

Not really sure what happened. I got 2 butter pies one of which was dreadful it was runny and tasteless, the second pie was still tasteless but had a different consistency altogether. What has happened to the pies?

Awful health & safety standards, not to mention a complete lack of cleanliness. Pie filling is scooped by hand and most employees don't bother to wash their hands after using the toilet so... Most ingredients kept there aren't dated and just forgotten in the fridge. Issues with rats in the actual bakery. They only started listing ingredient info on their products a few months ago and can never decide what the best before date should be on their products. A truly awful place to support. This used to be what I call "The Elite" of pie shops here in Preston. The staff were always a little glum to say the least but at "least" The pies were amazing 👏 the pastry was thin and what I describe as light and fluffy and the potatoes were slices and full of juices , so yummy I always wanted to order like 10 pies cause they were so yummy. But that would of been silly nevertheless. But now unfortunately this particularly shop has gone downhill like a bullet out of a gun . The staff are still very glum indeed non inspirational to people not even a smile amongst them they just serve the pies that's it. Me and my partner went into this establishment on Saturday 11,09,2021 at around 12.30ish to order pies my partner asked for gravy and peas to which the lady went into the back room to get them, as this is were they store them. Fair enough. 5 mins went by no sign of the woman. 10 mins went by still no sign of woman, then about 2 mins later she appeared 😑 and blatenely asked us are you waiting to b served 🙄 bearing in mind this is the same woman who served us . We were horrified and said yes we R waiting for gravy 2 which she replied oh yes sorry I took a fone call and completely 4got. As she went to get them a young lady asked us if we wanted our peas Hot or not well as u can imagine our faces we were mortified couldn't believe our ears so she relayed the message to the original lady so we asked if our pies could be put into the hot plate as they were getting cold . So we finally got our warmed up food and peas and gravy which had been warmed up also in a microwave. I was ready to walk out but my partner wanted the food so we paid and walked out . THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IF U WANT GLUM ASSISTANCE AND WARMED UP PIES AND OTHER WARMED UP PRODUCTS this is the place to come. Or Not to Come. This is now THE WORST PIE SHOP in the North West. Defo not elite just retreat ha ha .

Fab funny ladies. Amazing pies and cakes. If you havent tried get down there they do all sorts.

Very good large breakfast in a box and half the price of the Travelodge I was staying at. Great selection of pies.

Overpriced and stale barm. Ordered spam and egg on brown barm. Only realised when i got down the rd that is was a white barm. Started it anyway and egg was sliding off due being soaked in fat. The barm started breaking up as i ate it as it was stale. Service was great but not worth £3.15. Wont go again.

This review is for the Leyland branch staff are so rude didn’t have any ham at 12.30 sandwiches already made up and the attitude is you get what’s left! The taste wasn’t pleasant won’t be visiting that shop in a hurry again! Good luck with the new site this your staff need to be retrained in how to make sandwiches and customer relations.

Sorry in advance for caps but it's for a reason. THIS IS BY F A R THE BEST PIE SHOP ON THE PLANET. YES THE PLANET in terms for tastyness and juicyness and very friendly and helpful staff. Always happy to help. So go here for your pies even if your 10 15 miles away you WILL NOT be dissatisfied I promise you x

Omgoodness the best ever pies 🥧

Expected good things. Have given here several chances since opening. A very lame hams salad sandwich was the first purchase. Next was a chunky steak pie - not great. Next was a cheese,potato and onion pie which was a sloppy, tasteless mess. Will be looking for a new bakers as this is well below what Glovers were doing.

I asked for and bought 5 uncooked pies from the Walton Summit Bakery. I asked Rob how to cook them and was given written instructions in case I forgot. The best meat and potato pie I have ever had,,,,,,, I did have to give my eldest son one, who asked if he could take another to have at his house? A quick NO was my immediate reply. I had the last one Christmas Eve lunchtime......I’m going back in a few days to but some more. Excellent! Well done Berrys.

Honestly one of the best bakery’s I have I visited in a long time Bacon sausage and egg on toast beautiful. Beef pie Beautiful Very nice service very friendly lady. You have definitely just acquired a new customer when I’m in Preston I will be at berry’s. 😋😋👌👌

I phoned for an order of 20 butter pies early on Saturday morning that I wanted to collect at 10:30. No problem they said. I picked them up from the shop. They were hot in a box and devoured by my rugby team after training session. Excellent service, great value and fantastic pies.

On a recent visit to Preston, I had to go down new hall lane, and remembered a bakery that was renowned for its pies that I’d heard of in the media. I thought I’ll give it a go while I’m here, Certainly not disappointed, and I’ll be returning soon to get a few for the freezer

since the last owners retired a new younger guy has taken the shop forward. the quality is better with more choice of pies and sandwiches. the prices have risen a little but all in all good value for money

Since Berrys was taken over a few years ago it had become by far the best bakers in the north west! Their pies and cakes are second to none.. I've even had to restart my monthly gym subscription to counteract my pie addiction.. Berrys is the greatest! Keep up the good work!

If you haven't tried Berry's pies, you're missing out. Nice and crisp pastry and not too thick. Try the chunky steak! A small shop so you often see a queue out the door but highly recommended.

Wuiye simply the BEST pies ive ever tasted. Don't judge it by the 1970s exterior, the pies are superb and so cheap.

I used to be a regular customer of Gornalls....however since discovering this delight of a bakery I'm sorry Gornalls as I have now discovered your pies are half the size and not half as tasty as Berrys, I am proud to say I am a Berrys Bakers convert, their pies are tasty, perfectly baked, flavoursome and quite simply delicious. 😋 Their Chunky Steak Pie is crammed to the crust with melt in your mouth braised beef not chewy not gristly just scrumptious steak In a rich gravy. The meat and potato are My favourite and don't get me started on their small beef pies yumm-meee! Butter, cheese and onion, I've tried the lot everyone's a winner and the cakes are fabulous. The staff are always friendly and helpful (not like the grumpy woman in Gornalls, yes if you read this you know who you are lol). The sign of a good bakers is a wait....be prepared to queue people. Strange thing though since discovering this delight of a bakery my jeans have gone smaller...it's official Vanilla Slices makes jeans shrink 😉 You must try it thanks Mr Berry you're a 'belting baker' as we say in Lancashire 🤗

I went with my cousin, it was 17 years since he had been. It is the same great pie bakers that he remembered, the lady who served us was a gem.

I have been buying pies at Berry's for over 30 years and used to come all the way from oswaldtwistle for them as they were the best around. A couple of years ago when it changed hands i thought they would NEver be anywhere near as good, after a couple of weeks of shaky starts things imroved dramatically and the pies were back to excellent. Since then Robert has improved the buisness 200% His range is far greater, he now has lovely cheese and onion pies and his custard tarts are the best i have ever tasted, Chunky proper steak and onion pies sausage rolls and don't even get me started on his breakfast sandwiches they are huge and jam packed with proper butchers sausage, butchers bacon ( not this cheap supermarket stuff most shops use ) Being a fully qualified chef and baker myself it is so easy to moan but believe me there is not one thing in that shop i would not reccomend. I have just moved 45 minutes away to the coast but i make sure i ring an order through every two weeks and fill my freezer their is absolutely no where in lancashire you can get a better pie. Believe me when i say ive eaten all the pies !!!
