Beefeater - Norman Jepson in Preston

Been going here for years. Today, 11 of us were met by grumpy staff (not the young lady) and this was very disappointing. We had a 40% discount voucher but one of us paid without knowing. Manager refused to refund this. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Such a shame, it only takes one bad experience. We usually visit in an evening, perhaps different staff.

The breakfast front of house staff on Saturday 13th April had a very bad attitude towards guests we were told there was 110 people for breakfast and we tried to explain we were part of the 110 but could not sit were we wanted although only 1 table of 8 was booked so we moved from a table for 4 to a table for 6 as there was 6 of us eating together and heard the staff talking to each other saying who do we think we are moving tables , in general they were very short with customers saying over and over how busy they are going to be and at one stage quite rude to customers.

Me and my husband and 2 children stayed at the Premier Inn next door. We decided to have dinner here. They fitted us in at short notice even though it was Easter Sunday. Our whole experience was brilliant. The staff were amazing! Very polite and attentive. The food and drinks were really nice and good value for money. Especially the kids meals. 3 very good size courses for £6.99. Best kids meals we have any anywhere for a long time. We had breakfast there the next morning and again we were all very happy! Lots of choice and the cooked breakfast was lovely. Kids ate for free too which was great!! The place was spotless and the staff brilliant. We will definitely be recommending and coming back when we are in the area. Thankyou!

Having been coming to this restaurant for the last month with work. I have to say that the service from Abi and the rest of the staff has been excellent and would recommend it.

53 family and friends at a Wake on 26th February, we were looked after with speed, effiency and kindness, the team provided us with an excellent buffet, well done!

James and the team have been looking after our weekly breakfast meeting for a number of years now. The service we have received has been brilliant and prior to using their meeting room I probably wouldn't have gone into a beefeater, my wife and I regularly eat here now in an evening and the food is on the whole excellent.

The waitress chloe was amazing. Whizzing around the restaurant making sure everyone was being looked after. Great service and delicious food

Visited here for a simple breakfast how can you go wrong, well you can if your at this beefeater. I’ll start with the staff, young kids on minimum rate and aren’t interested. Maybe you cant blame them, The breakfast was shocking, boiled or steamed mushrooms, never seen a frying pan, come on beefeater these were the worst mushrooms I’ve had in a longtime, overdone poached eggs, bacon very fatty, sausage undercooked, almost raw, I just don’t know where beefeaters are going they used to be nice, the last 3 or 4 I’ve been to have all been garbage, I have decided I just won’t use beefeater again.

Staff are rude, wanted to go for a nice meal with my partner as we don't go out that often. Just very rude staff and top it off my partners burger was greasy and he's also now got food poisoning. Wouldn't advise anyone to go.

James is an excellent host. James greets me using my Christian name, every time I visit. James, I will, hopefully, visit NORMAN JEPSON the next time I am in Preston.

We called in hoping for breakfast after a long flight while waiting for early check in at the Premier Inn next door. We were warmly welcomed by James, despite being run off his feet. Great communication by James & a lovely breakfast. Will definitely visit again if we're travelling nearby.

We have been visiting this restaurant for at least 20 years. Unfortunately we had to book the function room for a wake, however James couldn’t have done more for us, he was amazing from start to finish. Everyone said the food was lovely. Bar staff very friendly and couldn’t have done more for us given the situation. James made sure we had everything we needed kept checking in on us , always friendly and did everything with a smile. He made the afternoon so much more relaxed and easy. We had only planned for 30 however at least double that turned up! James wasn’t phased at all and just got us the extra food with a smile, couldn’t recommend this bloke More, especially for something as distressing as a wake. Everyone has complimented him since we had the function. Thanks again for making one of the hardest days that little bit easier.

Usually can’t go wrong at Beefeater, so booked to go for lunch. Also had a 30% discount. Arrived and decided to order off the ‘lunch menu’. Ordered Nachos (£2.99) Garlic Bread - paid extra for cheese (£3.48) Onion Rings (£2.99) 2 x Gammon, Egg, Chips and Peas (£9.49 each). We did pay extra to have the larger Gammon. The nachos were Doritos with tomato/onion and cheese - nothing else. The Garlic bread was 2 little pieces. 4 onion rings only. Very disappointing. The main meal was tasty, plentiful and value for money. I told the lady serving that we were disappointed with the stars - she said’thats the lunchtime special. I don’t think 75p per onion ring is acceptable. So 12 onion rings would be £9.00. She said ‘that’s the company standard’ - oh and my 30% discount was not valid on the lunchtime offer! We eat out at least twice a week, but won’t be going back

Came in on Saturday for food and drinks was absolutely spot on couldn’t of asked for a better meal service was really good fast and efficient only off putting thing was the waitress coughing around the restaurant but other than that everything else was spot on

Had lunch in the Norman Jepson today, Friday 3rd November 2023, choosing from the lunchtime menu. We ordered 1 garlic bread for a starter and burger and chips each for our mains. The garlic bread was served. Two tiny pieces of bread, so tiny that they made the white plate that they were served on look absolutely massive! My son and I looked at the plate incredulously, then looked at each other and laughed, as there must have been a mistake made in serving up such a meagre offering. We spoke to the waiter, who was friendly, and he assured us that this was the correct portion related to the menu we ordered from. I told my son , who was paying, to send it back, but to avoid embarrassment he decided to keep the meagre offering. The burger and chips were acceptable. I have read the menu before writing this review and I noticed that the Garlic Bread contained 410 calories. There was no way whatsoever that our offering contained 410 calories. Indeed, probably not 40 calories. They could have served the Garlic Bread in an egg cup, and there would still have been room for an egg. So someone at that restaurant has had a laugh at our expense. The only way that I would return there was if I was on a strict diet. I then wouldn’t be disappointed in portion control.

Best place to go for all, you can eat breakfast plenty of parking good customer service and a big shout out to James because he’s always there with a smile on his face
