The best restaurants serving British food in Manchester North West

Called tonight for fish and chips...well what can i say AMAZING...best fish and chips i have ever tasted and i am 88 years of age I wish i lived nearer but will be back.The fish[cod] to die for the chips superb....portions huge.....we will be back.ps the Batter on the fish was breathtaking!!!!!!!!!!also the price???i couldnt believe how cheap plus the owner was so nice..........

I came here for a coffee and it was really good, nice Barista coffee and tasted much better than the usual coffee chains. I had a take away, but the inside looks really nice, lots of people working on laptops. They have soya milk and other non dairy milks which was good. Overall a great coffee house in Ancoats.

Este lugar no es tan bueno como solía ser. Por dentro está un poco anticuado y sucio, y los menús deben reemplazarse por otros limpios. Buena variedad en el menú. Tuve el vegetariano inglés completo, que era bueno, pero se mejoraría con una porción un poco más grande, y tomate a la parrilla en lugar de estañado. mi pedido de papas fritas eran pequeños cuadrados de patatas impares en lugar de fichas adecuadas. El vaso que venía con mi coca estaba sucio. Algunas mejoras y podría ser genial.

La anciana me ayudó a recoger regalos maravillosos para mis colegas. Es una pena que los clientes sean impacientes y groseros con ella cuando está sola en la tienda. Vendré pronto.

Wouldn't recommend if you are gluten free / coeliac. When I arrived I asked for a gluten free menu and the waitress was very abrupt / made me feel like an inconvenience. I then asked if there was anything they could provide gluten free and then waitress just listed all the things which had gluten in them and then didn't attempt to accommodate for me. The only good thing is that a manager took my order. I understand that not all cafes can provide gluten free products but we would appreciate if they were a bit more understanding / could explain what dishes they could provide gluten free.

The burger was delicious and the staff lovely 🍔🍻😊

It’s so rare to have such high expectations and then have them exceeded. The food was extraordinary, the flavours and complexity of every single dish outstanding. Great service and staff to top it off. Should have 3 stars in my opinion.

Easily the best meat I’ve had my whole life! Amazing experience but quite an expensive one! 12.5% was added to the bill for the service which I consider too much, 5% would be enough. Also they added 1£ for “charity”. I don’t mind paying for charity but at least the should have us asked beforehand, also we would’ve liked to be informed about the service fee before hand :) Besides that, Tahera was our waitress, she was very pleasant and helpful, a big thank you goes to her.

Absolutely amazing place! We were some friends in Manchester to watch the football and stopped by Brunswick and decided to get some breakfast. 3 of my friends chose the traditional "English breakfast" I myself chose "steak and eggs" it was so delicious! It was so delicious that we came back the next day for more food. This time 2 x "English breakfast" 1 x "chicken waffle" and 1 x "steak and eggs" again the food was top notch. The meat was cooked to perfection medium rare, the eggs and tomatoes had great flavor. The only small finger to put on our 2 food experiences at Brunswick was that the second time we were there they forgot "Heinz beans" at the one "English breakfast", but it was quickly fixed! Will definitely be back when I hit Manchester again! Thanks for the food.

Good pub with a good, spacious beer garden

I often visit Hispi and enjoy the excellent food. Yesterday I took my brother for the first time. As usual it was first class and were serviced by Beth who was both personable and professional. Phil Roberts.

Very nice scrambled egg on sourdough toast, with a flat white. The vibe was hip. I loved how someone came to take the orders of people waiting further down in the queue, including taking payment, when said queue got a bit long. Nice touch.

Lovely service. Great food. Had the poached eggs and avocado on corn cakes. The eggs were a little overcooked, and where replaced straight away, no fuss, no questions asked. Great service.

The welcome is wonderful and the staff very attentive. The food is served quickly and generously. The chef was able to offer me a vegetarian alternative without making my English breakfast any less delicious. A big thank you! I highly recommend it!
