We had some lovely cocktails here for our 20th anniversary. Bar staff were friendly and pointed us to places to visit locally and helped with directions

The breakfast is really good and the waiter are super nice, I do recommend

Had a lovely Sunday roast. Surprisingly empty. Can vouch for their roast chicken. Incredible value! I don’t understand the price. Maybe consider increasing prices because we almost didn’t come because it was too cheap.

Absolutely top notch pub on a Saturday afternoon, but I’m biased because I had just been to no less than six breakfast/brunch spots with insane lines/waits and no luck. All I wanted was a full English breakfast and I discovered this lovely place (make sure you order before noon for breakfast). Not one of those trendy breakfast spots so there was plenty of seating, friendly staff, and great draft beer. TT Hopical Storm was delicious. Breakfast was stellar. Really enjoyed this experience, wish I knew to come straight here at 10am instead of wasting nearly two hours.

Popped in before going to see the darts at the AO arena. So glad we passed by the bars in the Printworks. Service was outstanding very friendly. It was happy hour but also the was 50% off food when you bought a drink. Which we clearly did.. Food came quicker than they said but it was hot tasty and plenty off it. Best steak and ale pie 🥧. Fish 🐟 and chips were spot on. Will definitely visit next time on Manchester. So pop in you'll be very pleasantly rewarded

We started our supposedly "day only" session at about 10am with a great breakfast. They actually know how to poach an egg! It's also not expensive. The best part tho (having a touch of the IBS) are the toilet cubicle. We then skipped the going home part and finished off in here at about 2am and I had a lovely conversation in Spanish to the nice security man. Who is Spanish, I did just chat some random shizzle to a bloke and expect him to entendes. Anyway, great place and my new go to start place during a session on the sauce

Came for Sunday lunch. Absolutely amazing, couldn't fault anything appart from the noise. I knew that the football was on and thought the chanting was from outside and would soon pass but no, it was coming from inside the building right under my feet. Was another bar, I couldn't believe it and never stopped, definitely put a dampner on the experience.

Never tried the food but this place is very good

Lovely service, only stopped briefly for a pint, but bar staff was amazing and very friendly. Definitely worth a visit after long shopping at Arndale.

A friend took me there Monday evening & we had a great time. We were there at 5pm so not overly busy yet. Nice music in the background & great views from the window booth. Food was excellent (Chicken & leek pie) & the house red we had was delicious. Ged was our waiter & made us feel very welcome. Will definitely revisit

Delicious food ! Our waiter Dan was friendly and helpful and we absolutely loved the food . Had few games also , we played with the kids while waiting for the food . We will come back

What a lovely place this is. Passed it many times and decided to go in for something to eat. Such welcoming staff, we were made to feel so welcome as was our dog..so great start. Very nice vibe and atmosphere in there. It was Happy hour so had a bottle of wine and two pizzas. Food was not amazing but nice enough. Big shout out to the staff here, they make the place. Will definitely be back and have recommended it to people.

I visited last week for a drink and a quick plate. I ended up choosing the Philly cheese steak sandwich and I enjoyed it.

Today 8 friends and l came to the High Street Tavern for Sunday lunch for a friend’s 70th birthday! The food and service were fantastic! Ged was amazing ensuring we were all Ok. The meals were great, plenty on the plate and freshly made and delicious x The service was second to none! Highly recommend and we’ll be back

Excellent fish finger butty very fresh an light batter on the fish staff attentive an nice will be going back first time in on a sat very busy but had a table discount on food Mon to Friday an 2 4 1 cocktails but had ice tea with my meal good portion

Went on a date night with my boyfriend as he often walks past it on his way to work and always thought it looked nice. Safe to say it was as nice as we hoped! Service was really good - attentive and friendly without being obtrusive, and the food was lovely. I ordered the cheese & onion pie and it was just perfect for me, often cheese pie can be quite stodgy and a lot to digest but this one was just right, filling but not too rich, nice little pastry topper and lovely melty cheese filling. Not a huge amount of choice on the food menu but reasonable since it’s not a huge place. Definitely recommend for a relaxed but romantic evening meal. Thanks!

Seemed nice and quite , but waiter insisted we didn't sit by the window , incase a works party came . Humoured him and sat down , ordered, he made a thing about not understanding my frriends English, was very rude , after 10 min of waiting for a drink I asked him where they were , he was aggressive, we left , a very rude old man, shouldn't be near the public . Won't go back , wouldn't recommend

This is little Gem, we have been visiting, the high street tavern for a few years now, lovely warm friendly atmosphere, half price menu in January and February and the food is lovely, the biggest asset is Ged the funny waiter who welcomes everyone with his fun and humour, he is the most obliging hard working guy you could ever meet, try it out you wont be disappointed. Oswaldtwistle Girls love the place.

Pop in for a quick drink and snack. Honestly had great sandwichs and staff were excellent.

Looking for some breakfast after Depeche mode concert the night before. Stumbled upon this restaurant. Was greeted very warmly, seated straight away. The man who took our order was friendly and prompt, ordered an iced vanilla latte. (Best I’ve ever had) and it was a pint glass which I was pleasantly pleased about. My partner and brother and I ordered the cooked breakfast, came out quickly and was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have picked a better place, sausages were delicious and egg cooked perfectly. To top it off they had a 50% of food and drink offer on so it was cheaper than normal, food was so good however would be happy to come back and pay regular price. Will definitely be coming here again the next time I am visiting Manchester.

We had a great night at The High Street Tavern last night for my friend’s birthday when we took full advantage of the January 50% off deal. The service was great - Dan and Blake looked after us and were brilliant. The vibe in the venue is always good and the food is delicious. Highly recommend !

Oh this is such a lovely place. I was just strolling by and happened to peep inside the restaurant. It has such a positive vibe. The staff were so welcoming and hospitable. I think it was a Tuesday and they had some offers on main meals with 50% off . I sat there for a couple of hours watching the trams, sipping an excellent cup of hot chocolate. The next thing I ordered was the fish and chips. Hands down one of the best i have had so far. The tartare sauce had the right amount of pungency and tartness. The fish was fried very well with too thick or thin batter. Loved every minute spent.

When I arrived first time in Manchester by bus I went to Manchester High Street Tavern... (June 2023) July I moved to Manchester and tonight I had family and friends from London.. and we had tonight a very nice time :) food fresh and delicious 😋 yummy! Recommended pizzas, fish and chips (one of the best in town) nice ambiance and cool music from the 80-90s... And : prices are top !! Big portions for less Money! High street tavern became a usual pitstop for me .. thank you!

This pub is one we found by accident, every time we come to Manchester we make an effort to have at least one drink here.

Nice to see a switched on door man that was quite persuasive in encouraging folk to give this one a try. Pleasant service and good ale for £6. I had a Camden pale ale, which was perfect. Cosy inside and location is ideal for the bus and coach station. I will return.

Excellent English breakfast, I recommend this place. Not too busy. We were here on a Saturday morning, we didn't have to wait for a table. Service very nice.

Great meal as usual. Love this place. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. From the owner Geoff to Managers Dan and Ged, Susan who always helps me as I'm disabled. Sorry, dont know the names of other waiting on staff's names but they're great also. Not tried the breakfasts yet, but I'm told they're the best in Manchester. Sunday lunches are out of this world. Special thanks to Bright, the doorman who helped me to and from my table tonight and carried my shopping in and out to my mobility scooter. Would highly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Early evening drinks and food. Great table service for food and drink. Good choice of beers and wine. We ate from the sandwich menu and both our choices were hot tasty and good portions. An enjoyable experience all round. Will be back!

Brilliant place, old fashioned, proper pub feel. Just whatever you do don't get the fish and chips, as I've been suffering all night throwing up etc. Other than that the place was lovely.

Always have amazing service and food from here. Midweek they do 50% off all food and 2 for 1 cocktails. Amazing value for money. The older gentleman and the girl with curly hair are always lovely.

We often go into Manchester for lunch on Tuesday and always to the High St Tavern. Food is always very good and service friendly. Tuesday lunch time is quiet but that suits us well. Prices are very competitive and we'll certainly be going back.

I tried the Sunday Dinner, I had the mixed roast! I have to say, it was absolutely delicious!! I would certainly recommend! Price was reasonable for such high quality food! Compliments to the chef :) The atmosphere was great, I visited solo and was able to have a peaceful dinner in a bubbly atmosphere. The staff were polite and ready to assist you! Hard to find such a nice place in Manchester now adays! Will certainly be coming again and recommending to others. Keep up the good work :) (Forgot to take pictures of the roast, sorry!)

Came in on Sunday with friends for a Sunday roast. The food was great and such good value for money. A waitress even came to check we were happy with our food during the meal which we definitely were. We were made to feel welcome by Ged who made sure we had all we needed… especially my brown sauce !! Thank you all for making it such an enjoyable time.

The service was absolutely impeccable, the discount is amazing value for money. My waitress susan made my experience there absolutely amazing and I cannot praise her enough, she always has the best food recommendations and is always smiling and lovely to everyone.

Nipped in for a mid-morning sausage barm, mainly to shelter from the elements. A great choice as it turns out, really good quality sausage and a very decent cup of coffee. It deserved to be fuller than just us.

Been here a few times now. Great little place. One member of staff seems constantly stressed and often rude to the other staff members. This can ruin the atmosphere. The bar is great so let's hope he chills out in future.

Called in on Saturday morning for breakfast, staff extremely attentive from the start, super friendly. The waitress took our order and the drinks were brought over straight away, quickly followed by the breakfast. It was delicious, really fresh. It was reasonably priced too. We will definitely be going back 😀
