Easily the best meat I’ve had my whole life! Amazing experience but quite an expensive one! 12.5% was added to the bill for the service which I consider too much, 5% would be enough. Also they added 1£ for “charity”. I don’t mind paying for charity but at least the should have us asked beforehand, also we would’ve liked to be informed about the service fee before hand :) Besides that, Tahera was our waitress, she was very pleasant and helpful, a big thank you goes to her.

Well what can I see, I went to order a Guinness 0% due to driving, so I ended up with 0.5% beer as they don’t serve Guinness. Rob who was looking after then came back about 15 minutes later with what I’d asked for. This act of kindness and attention really made my day. All the staff were a fantastic. This backed up by scummy food and a melt in the mouth steak. Thanks so much for a fantastic experience. You can’t beat Steak and Guinness. Mike Practical Bikes

Really special experience professionalism to the core. We had steaks cooked with perfection, sides & sauces fit perfectly. Good wines and spirits, deserts amazing perfect night out for us.

What can I say, we were attended to so well and served amazing steak. My first time in a proper steakhouse and the waiter (wish I got his name, shoutout to him!) patiently and confidently guided us through the ordering our steaks and we were served delicious steak! Wife and I went there to celebrate an occasion and they were keen enough to give us dessert on the house. Higher end price range but we didn’t mind at all.

We had the best dinner of our lives. The Vietnamese Oysters are a must to have if you visit and you will not be disappointed- they were the best oysters we have ever had. The portions are big and everything we had we loved (and we tried everything!). The cocktail selection was great - I would recommend the Double Melon Daiquiri. The service from everyone, waiting staff, bartenders and hosts was fantastic!! Yes the prices are higher than your average restaurant but you pay for the quality of the food, people and atmosphere and it shows. Amazing!!!

Disappointing drinks experience. Took my friends from Cambridge recently, and we only stopped in for drinks. We won't again. Gin and tonics, £14 + £3.50 for the smallest tonic (had just paid £8 for G + T not 100yds away) so £70 for 4 drinks - ouch!! Biggest issue was they were served in a short straight tumbler, like a whisky glass, crammed full of ice, even sticking out of the top of the glass. I had to take some out to drink, there were 11 cubes in mine, plus some gin, and room for only a small amount of tonic. Not given the remaining tonic in the bottles, and the ratio was all wrong, almost neat gin. Got some more tonic in a part bottle when we asked. Convinced they weren't doubles, though they should have been for that price. Grapefruit in all. Come on, its not hard, decent bowl glass, muddler, couple cubes, maybe a straw and appropriate fruit for the gin. Poor.

The service, food and atmosphere are brilliant. I particularly enjoy eating and getting cocktails at the bar with my wife. Eating at the bar in the UK is not common and I get the operational aspect of why, however I think restaurants with decent bars have got a nice earner and something they can take advantage of. I mean clients tipsy on cocktail going through the starters like no end! When I'm prime minister I'm going to bring out a law to accommodate this 😜☀️

Excellent service by Amber, she was friendly and gave great advice on the menu. Checked on our table and also made sure everything was as we asked. Also very friendly receptionist Anka, she was kind and very nice. Gave me a good laugh over the phone when making my booking I knew we were going to be welcomed. Thank you the A-Team

Had an incredible meal at Hawksmoor Manchester. I had the fillet steak, cooked rare, It was perfectly done and packed with flavour. Paired it with the mac n’ cheese and a glass of red wine, and it all came together beautifully. The atmosphere was classy but welcoming, and the service was spot on. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Manchester.

Happened by this place without a reservation late evening. We sat at the bar for 30 mins until they had a free table and had a great chat with the Irish barman! Then we had food! Wow! Outstanding food from start to finish! We had 4 sides and 2 different steaks and each was cooked perfectly. Staff were really helpful and friendly too. Desserts were equally good. They also have an extensive wine list and we had a great bottle of red with the steals. Really memorable meal. Thanks everyone!

We had a truly exceptional evening at Hawksmoor on Saturday. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Our waiter was the embodiment of fantastic customer service – attentive, friendly, and efficient. The food was simply outstanding, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was spot on. We also enjoyed a lovely end to our night at the bar, where the bartender made us feel incredibly welcome, and the bar manager provided some excellent red wine tips for our return visit, which is already in the works! A huge thank you to the Hawksmoor team for a flawless and memorable experience.

Went to this restaurant recently, and honestly, the vibe was great. The ambience was spot on – cosy, stylish, and just a really nice place. The food was amazing, and the service was great too – the staff were super friendly and attentive. Now, here’s the part I didn’t love: the service fee (basically a tip) was already added to the bill. It was mentioned in the menu, but still – it doesn’t feel right. Even if I can ask to remove it, that puts customers in an awkward spot. If I want to tip, I’ll do it myself. This whole automatic tipping culture is starting to ruin the experience a bit. We spent £450 for four people, and £50 of that was just the added service fee. That’s a lot, and honestly, it should be up to the customer whether or not to tip. Great food and service, but I hope they rethink that policy.

Amazing service from the moment you walk in, the menu is very extensive so you can always find something new to try. The staff is helpful and happy to give sides/drinks recommendations that pair well with whatever you ordered. The venue itself is very cozy, old school and tavern-like. Definitely a must visit if you're spending some time in Manchester.

Simply the best steak in the UK. Hawksmoor Manchester is an incredible place and probably our favourite restaurant. The quality of the ingredients is very high and the level of service you receive is exceptional. The dishes are all full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Amazing!

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the service is excellent and the food is gorgeous. Steaks cooked perfectly, sides tasty and deserts just perfect. Would definitely recommend for a quality meal out.

Food the second time it came out was exceptional, Tahirah was top notch and recognised the steak wasn’t cooked to my liking before I even had to mention it to her, she then ensured I received all fresh sides and offered me a beer on her which I thought was above and beyond. Brilliant birthday dinner, expertly served by Carmen from Bilbao. Drinks at the bar, including 0.0% and gluten free options. Quite the best steaks we both have eaten, probably ever. A rare fillet and medium ribeye, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend the creamy spinach and we also had delicious fries. The jus served with the ribeye was delicious GF alternative to some of the sauces. Side of maple bacon was an excellent sweet aside. 10/10 to Carmen for attentive, friendly, smiley service.

A great meal spoiled by a request to leave early. All the food was great, although after being sat down 30 minutes after our scheduled booking, we were told we had 10 minutes left at the table 1hr and 20 minutes into the booking, and after contesting this and requesting a desert menu, we're presented with the bill. Can't express how dissapointed with this we were after such a good culinary experience.

Absolutely amazing anniversary dinner. We originally had to book a bar seating as they were that busy, however due to our special occasion, they managed to get us a booth in the restaurant which was greatly appreciated. The steak was second to none. We originally went for 1kg of porterhouse, but our waiter Odaine recommended smaller instead of just trying to upsell. I’m glad we followed his advice as we had eyes bigger than our bellies. He was polite, attentive and filled our glasses/wiped our table without us even noticing. Excellent service. To finish, the sticky toffee was to die for, and came decorated with a “Happy anniversary” message and some complimentary shots. This place is not cheap, but if you want the best quality meat or you’re going for a special occasion, you can’t top it.

This place has good food but it does feel incredibly overpriced when there are many other places I've visited alk over the UK that has a smiliar offering but with a better menu and better prices. Service was excellent though.

the worst restaurant in my life. the steak was not fresh and very salty - probably from stale meat - the whole night suffered from stomach pain. no children's menu. desserts were not tasty. the staff was unfriendly - they don't care about the customers. never in my life will I return to this restaurant.

Hawksmoor definitely belongs to one of those once in a lifetime places. After quite a lot of research Hawksmoor appeared to be one of the best steak places in the country, we therefore decided to book a table for our anniversary. Service is impeccable from beginning to end, from offering to take our coats into the cloakroom to every staff member greeting us as we walked in. We had a lovely waiter, I wish we remembered his name. He served us on 4/04/25 with our reservation being at 5.45. He was incredibly knowledgable and honest. We were planning to have starters and also 1kg of steak to which he honestly told us that it might be too much. He was right as we decided on 750g and we would’ve not been able to have anymore. Scallops and the carpaccio were amazing! For the main we had 750g of Porterhouse steak with fries and mac and cheese as a side. We ordered our steak medium rare, I do feel like it was slightly on the more well done side however my partner enjoyed it. It was seasoned so well. Two tables opposite and next to us did complain about their steak, I believe they were not cooked to how they asked which did seem not acceptable considering how expensive the cuts are.

Had a celebration lunch yesterday. All the food was very good except for the STEAKS. We were asked how we wanted them cooked and they were not cooked as requested. Very disappointing.

We decided in favour of this steak restaurant based on the very good reviews. The service was friendly and we ordered a plate of mixed grill as well as beer and wine. The various meat dishes were OK, but some were oversalted. We also ordered wine and beer. The beer was forgotten and the wine only arrived after we had finished eating. The coffee at the end was undrinkable. The restaurant is not for guests who want to eat and socialise in peace, as it is very noisy!

Went here for my brother's 60th birthday, and he had an amazing time. Samson the waiter was so helpful, in helping us choose the correct steak, and all the staff were helpful. They even did a birthday message on my brother's dessert 😁

You also eat with your eyes! 👀 With more light the experience would be more enjoyable.

Hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. The service was second to none, easily the best I’ve experienced. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but with a private room and perfectly catered meals, it was worth every penny. The place looks incredible and the food is unforgettable, a must for any meat lover!

I’ve been to Hawksmoor Manchester three or four times now, and I’ve always appreciated the warm atmosphere and attentive service. The restaurant is beautifully set up and creates a very comfortable dining experience. On this occasion, the starters were enjoyable—flavourful and well-prepared, as expected. However, I was let down by the main courses during this visit. I ordered a medium rare steak, but it was served more like medium, and the doneness was quite uneven throughout the cut. For a restaurant that’s well-known for its steak, I had higher expectations, especially given that I’ve had better experiences here before. I also ordered oysters, which were fresh, but I noticed a surprising inconsistency in their size. Some were large and meaty, while others were so small they were barely noticeable. It made the dish feel a bit unbalanced and took away from the overall presentation. That said, the rest of the dishes were nicely done, and the quality of ingredients in general remains high. I do hope that the team can take these points on board, as I know Hawksmoor is capable of delivering a top-tier dining experience—as they’ve done in the past.

I’m surprised the Big Matt burger is better than the Big Mac! I’m not lying I can’t believe how similar it tastes to the McDonald’s secret sauce but the burger and cheese have a much stronger flavor. My mind is blown this is the best burger in Manchester, even better than McDonald’s! I highly recommend trying the Big Matt burger trust me it’s a 10/10. A big thank you to Samson for his brilliant British Sign Language skills and professional service he really looked after me. And please Ryan and Matt don’t ever take the Big Matt burger off the menu in the future!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant is nicely decorated and larger than you initially expect, with tables being split into smaller rooms which feels a bit cosier. However, it did seem to lack atmosphere and just felt very busy and crowded with people constantly squeezing between tables. The drinks feel overpriced for what you get, £6.75 for a 330ml can of locally brewed lager in this case. The food was brought quickly and looked good, we chose the chateaubriand 500g and it was nice but again, not sure it justified the price. The need to spend more for chips and greens also left a sour taste by the end as portions aren't generous. Overall, if you don't mind splashing the cash for a fairly average meal then this is the place to go, otherwise you may find it all a tad pretentious.

Good Matt burger but the main one I wanted with blue cheese was not possible because they did not have the bun, surely something that could have been replaced?

Very overrated and not value for money. The worst ceaser salad I’ve ever had - £7 for four lettuce leaves, a few croutons, and a couple anchovies. Basically deconstructed and no sauce. The ribeye steak was nice, but just like any other ribeye - not worth the £40 price tag. Peppercorn sauce was okay. The beef dripping chips are very nice, you can really taste the beef dripping. Service was good. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend. Was also sat on a table with a bad draft.

Probably the best Steak House in Manchester. Great atmosphere, service, and food. The owner is especially accommodating. And the bar staff are great with making any type of drink or cocktail. Enjoy yourself here, you won't regret it.

A very impressive location. Well laid out with a very upmarket look and feel. Extremely friendly attentive staff, from reception through dining. I had hake which isn't on the food list; it was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and a good portion.

Had a medium rare ribeye which is really scrumptious. It pairs so well with the Borolo which was highly recommended by Matt! I would like to compliment Matt for his professionalism at work. He is knowledgeable and courteous which make customers feel like home. With Matt’s exceptional customer service, the whole dining experience has definitely achieved another level! Thank you Matt! Will definitely be back again!

We booked in as a party of four for our friends 40th birthday. From the gentleman on the door, to the receptionists, to the lovely young lady with incredible finger nails, every member of staff was kind, courteous, polite and professional. The food was excellent. We each had a different steak, cooked from very rare to medium well and hey were timed perfectly. All served with either dripping fries or dripping chips with sides of creamed spinach and mac and cheese. Hot food, served perfectly and without a single error. At first I thought it was a bit pricey, but that’s me being out of touch. All in all it was brilliant and we would highly recommend a visit as well as a return visit for ourselves. Very disappointing. Don't go there We ordered two fillet steaks for £44 and sauce for an extra £4. We ordered midium rare and we got welldone. We did get new ones, but it didn't make the staff any happier. We paid £60 for the four very small glasses of wine. £15 per glass which was filled to the bottom. Spent a total of £220 for a piece of meat and a few wines and the meat wasn't even tasty. Very bad restaurant

Best steak I’ve had, couldn’t recommend here enough. Ordered the chateaubriand with fries, creamed spinach and mash with bone marrow gravy. Everything was 10/10 and the staff were really attentive.

Service was top drawer - the lady that looked after us was super attentive, however £7.50 for a stumpy can of their own IPA I think is a little on the high side. Would recommend but not sure we would return.

This is the perfect place for a special occasion, we came here for our 10 year anniversary. It's quite costly but the level of food, drink and service are all fantastic. The servers are lovely and professional. The chateaubriand was INCREDIBLE, so was the short rib mac and cheese. I particularly loved the melon cocktail, probably my favourite cocktail I've ever had. I had my first negroni here too which was delicious 😋 no complaints at all.

I can’t say it was the best steak I have eaten. But can say it was one of the most expensive one. The waiting time was also so long.

Just absolutely brilliant. Service is outstanding. Every member of the team welcomes you and are just so attentive. We went for Sunday lunch which is one of the best we have had. The cocktail given to our daughter for her 21st was also a lovely touch. Well done for such an amazing experience

Mediocre and unispired. Sunday lunch was less than ordinary. The good aspects included good quality meat for the Sunday Roast Beef, and a tasty gravy. The vegetables were disappointing. Carrots and cabbage were lacking any kind of inspiration/appeal and the roast potatoes, although crisp, were also very dry, indicating they had been kept warm for too long. Desserts were good. The wine was good (Argentinian Malbec) but too expensive (£17.00 for 175ml). Service, as usual was very good. The ambience was a little 'fraught', with a large gaggle of girls determined to 'out shout' each other. Beyond the control of the restaurant staff admittedly, but then again, If I can be told, 'really sorry but we're going to need your table in five minutes', it shouldn't be considered unacceptable to have a word with a noisy table? I'll be back, but probably on a Monday, with my own bottle for the very good value BYO offer. And until I can find somewhere to match the quality of my own lunch, I'll be avoiding eating out on Sundays.

Went few weeks ago. Good place to have nice dinner. Had ribeyes and the sommelier choice very tasty wine to go well the meat. Good, busy atmosphere around. Fast service. Definitely I’ll go back!

Amazing. We got there early and they seated us early. The food was amazing. And the service was so, so great. We were very well looked after. My only issue was the starter. I had lobster and even though it was delicious, I got, at most 3 mouthfuls from it. And it was charged by the 100g so not cheap! Glad it was a starter and not the main. Everything else was fabulous!

The food is really good but the service is better. I've been to Hawksmoor twice and had the scallops both times and they are the stuff of dreams. Also if you're lucky enough not to be allergic to peanuts you really have to try the peanut shortbread.

Stunning. Steaks were absolutely incredible, service was great, and it's a beautiful place to be in.

Food is just wow. Had the ribs as a starter. Very soft and tasty. A sharing 550g Ribeye for the main was the best I've ever had with mash and chips to go with it. To top it off, a sticky toffee pudding for desert. Blew me away. Best desert I've ever had too. Service was exceptional. Didn't catch the name of the young lad with short brown hair but his service was top notch. Will definitely be back

Unfortunately a notably poor experience. The prices would suggest this is a high end restaurant. But meet & greet was very poor. Room looked dull & shabby. End of a long day I guess. Honestly, it had the vibe of a Wetherspoons. Btw…. I have no problem with Wetherspoons but for the money a meal here will cost the customer service should be a lot more polished. Our table never materialised. We left.

Steaks were over seasoned. Service and desserts were very good. Would rather choose the tip than pay a default 12%.

What a place! Fabulous cocktails made by Omar & the food was to die for. The service in the restaurant by Danny was exceptional, we will be back!

Quite honestly, steaks were abysmal! Chewy, overcooked and dry. The only flavour was what I could only describe as… BURNT! Not what I was hoping for when paying £80 per head. To pay for a sirloin steak which came with nothing but a slab of meat on my plate I was at least expecting a knob of butter … AT THE MINIMUM!!!! If you are after a good steak… get yourself to Flat Iron

Probably fine if you’re going for steak (which I imagine most people are), however as a result of this I don’t think their fish is up to standard. I suffered from horrific food poisoning only a couple of hours after dining here, whilst in the middle of a classical concert at bridgewater hall - incredibly disappointing.

Great food but really noisy. I recommend though but try find a place in a quiet corner if you can.
