Kingfisher Fish & Chips in Manchester

Missus was craving meat and potato pie and poutine. They didn't do poutine but chips, gravy and cheese which is close enough. Have to say I was surprised how good the chips was. The chips and gravy was soo good. Wife loved the pie too. Very happy with the food. Another place to return to when we next visit Manchester.

Terrible. Fishnchips absolutely tasteless. Tasteless fish, you can only taste the oil. Fries undercooked and tasteless.

Way way to much salt didn’t enjoy it put me off

I go to this chippy a lot they charged me £9.90 for chips and curry and a sausage and a can where it is only usually £7.70. they put the prices up because all parking was suspended. The chips were under cooked and the curry was tatstless. My mate ordered pie and chips and gravy and his was cheaper than mine. A complete rip of we will not be going there again Avoid!!!

I was contacted and informed that items were not available and was offered an alternative. I accepted and the food was excellent. Will order again.

One of the main reasons I chose this place was the delivery time (20-35 minutes) however my order ended up taking over an hour. The food is ok not a lot of flavour but not inedible either.

Great place. Friendly staff and really good prices. This is my go to chippy in central Manchester now. I had the haddock, chips, English curry sauce (excellent) peas, two sachets of tartare and a can of Fanta, all for £13.50, eat in price, which is very good for around here. The fish I think was £6.50, so this was probably the most expensive option but they have a very nice looking steak and kidney pud which I'll try next time. The haddock was delicious and flaky, and I could hardly finish the whole meal and I was hungry.

So after wondering the streets of Manchester in search of some good grub. I stumbled on this hidden gem 💎 of a chippy- Everything was just perfect down to the taste/ texture. Highly recommend you try here you won’t be disappointed! It feels like a family run place to me and it feels good support people like this. I look forward to going back for my next treat.. The haddock was nice, however the chips and the bread were quite tasteless to put it mildly. The taste of what I was given was not in amy way worth the amount I spent on the order.

I had cheese n onion pie, chips and mushy peas. All fab and served up with a smile. Lovely non-greasy chips. I'll be back...

Food is amazing! Definitely get the curry sauce to dip your chips in. The fish tastes extremely fresh and is fried right in front of you. 1 pound to dine in, but totally worth it to eat it fresh at the shop.

If you’re in Manchester and you like chippy based food, this is the place to visit. By far the best chip shop in central Manchester. A no nonsense, no pretence just great food and great service.

Review from an Asian Palates perspective: The good: Family owned. Polite customer service. I dined in and during my stay this shop remained busy with customers so its safe to say its popular amongst the local community especially with the anglo-saxons. If youre a local brit then im sure youll love this place and should probably disregard my views as not all tastes equate. The Not good but not bad; As far as british food goes, it met its standards. Monotonous taste, bland including the mushy peas and oilier than the ones ive had before. You have to pay extra for ketchup . If youre a foreigner or someone who likes depth in their flavourings, i suggest carrying sauces wherever you go to eat the local food in britian or atleast get these with gravy

Having recently moved my massage business in to the NQ, I was VERY excited to tumble across this gorgeous little chippy yesterday! Friendly, chatty staff and BEAAAUTIFULLLLY cooked, traditional chips. I had sausage and chips and the whole meal tasted exactly as it should do - 5*! The tricky thing now is going to be stopping myself from going every day!!!! 😋 (I took a photo but can't see anywhere to upload it - so you'll have to go and check them out for yourselves :) )

It was a classic chipper and although it is recommended by many, I found the food nothing special. Even though the store was empty when we walked in, the tables were all dirty. Food was freshly prepared for us, which I thought was very good. Unfortunately it was dripping with oil. Chips were warm but looked like they were just reheated. It was OK to fill you up, but nothing more.

Online hours are incorrect, been twice now and both times have been closed with online stating they are open

Horrendous. Chips were hard and dry as if they were old and had juts been refried. Inedible - both potions went in the bin. Fish - thin and dry. Don’t order from here.

Moved to the area 6 months ago and never ventured in but went tonight for the first time and it did not disappoint. It exceeded expectations. The decision was justified by the food for sure, chips banging, fish banging, barms buttered n banging would not think twice about ordering here again. Believe the hype. What a spot xo

Was recommended this place by my Dad who tried it a few months ago, was not disappointed. Amazing place with delicious fish and chips, the best I had in Manchester. The food was great, really loved it. Was a lot cheaper than some of the other chip shops in northern quarter and ancoats. Proper chip shop definitely the best I have had in Manchester. The staff were really lovely too. This will be where i go for fish and chips from now on.

I don't ever write a review but I just had to after visiting this place. I was hesitant to get fish and chips because you can never find nice chippy's anymore but this was the best decision I made. Fresh fish and batter, beautifully cooked chips, and thick smooth gravy with gorgeous green mushy peas. Not to mention the fab service by truly northern girls (the blonde and ginger one - not sure of their name sorry!). I will definitely visit again and tell everyone about this place. Yum yum yum going to sleep it off now lol thank you

I popped in on the way to do some shopping. Was recommended this chippy and was not dissapointed,whilst the chips were a tad pale they were extremley nice. Customer service was top notch hence why they got a tip.will deffo be going back so I can try one of their infamous pies. Overall very good.prices are very good especially given the location so no complaints.See you guys again soon.

Fab fish - had the Scottish Haddock and it was ace. Cooked to perfection in thin and crispy batter and the service is fab - love this place!

Proper Northern hospitality! First time in and treated like a regular. Super friendly staff and very tasty sausage and chips. Around a tenner for tea for two. Can't wait to be back in town to stop again! Lots of in and out with takeaway which is always a good sign!!
