Such a lovely warm welcome from Ian, the server. He was so attentive throughout our time there. It is a limited menu but everything we had and we went twice in three days in Keswick, tasted great. There was three types of soup to choose from which came with different accompaniments, ie, sourdough toast, spicy chickpea bun ect. There was also a choice of about five different types of cake and I can highly recommend the ginger and raspberry with extra fruit compote. Note it's cash only and closed Sunday and Monday. Soon as we go back to Keswick we are going back to Chintys.

We were very disappointed with the food and waitress. 1. Wanted to order a vodka martini and was told I could only order their “special” which was a concoction of spices. When asked if I could just have vodka with a splash, I was told “no”. 2. The pizza oven wasn’t working which also included the garlic bread. 3. The food was served at volcanic heat. Literally bubbling, with steam rising a foot in the air. After waiting about 15 minutes to be eatable, we poured the lasagna on another plate and stirred for a few minutes. Unbelievably, the waitress told us it was correctly served. Way too many restaurants in Keswick to eat here.

We’ve stayed close to this lovely tearoom on quite a few occasions over the last 30 years! We had the pleasure of more regular visits on a recent stay both to the shop (essentials, delicious cakes, teas, coffees, hot food, ice cream, Cumbrian gifts, cards and importantly take away menu) and to the tearoom where we enjoyed toasties and delicious hot chocolate. Being able to take homemade lamb pasties and lots of other goodies is so helpful when self catering and fancy a night off while supporting an established local business. Well placed if staying in the Borrowdale Valley or if you are walking the Cumbrian Way make a plan to stop. Currently open 10-5 daily Above all, you can expect a lovely warm welcome from all the team 😁

We had a lovely dining experience for our anniversary. We had the steak which was quite salty along with the fries. The service was quite slow too, but everything was made up with the dessert which was exquisite. Beautiful presentation, perfectly balanced taste. Friendly welcoming staff.

What a lovely Sunday roast we had here last weekend with lovely friendly staff. Food was well priced, decent portion and hot. My daughter is coeliac - she wasn’t with us but I always check with staff whether they can accommodate. Very knowledgable on gluten free including advising they would substitute fires for jacket due to cross contamination risk. All round impressed and would return

We visited this pub whilst visiting Keswick. My partner is a real ale drinker and we like to frequent pubs with a selection of real ale. The bar area is somewhat clinical feeling. We ordered a pint and a half of one ale. When we started to drink it we realised it was cloudy and didn't taste right. We returned it to the bar and the staff immediately changed it for another beer. Unfortunately, this too was not of a good standard and although we really didn't want to complain we took this back too. Again the staff were great. They accepted that this was not of a good standard. They changed the barrel and brought new beers to our table. It was very unfortunate that both of our chosen beers were not good to start but we must congratulate the staff on the way that they handled this. They were pleasant and helpful throughout. We did not eat here but the lunches that were being served looked very good. A couple we got chatting to said they had both had great food. So all in all we would recommend this pub!

We visited here at the end of our last trip to Keswick and vowed to return. In fact, we returned twice in the same week! The hotel and restaurant were refurbished in the last few years and it has been completed tastefully. However, that needs to be backed by high quality food and service and no need to worry there. On visiting last time we both had the seabass and it was so good, we had it again on our return. It always seems mean to only get one fillet but no such worries here. These are backed up by really tasty new potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables together with a tomato sauce. Every element of the dish tastes fantastic and also complement each other. Forcing ourselves to try something else we had fish pie on our second visit. This can often sound interesting but be bland. Not here, we big chucks of salmon and haddock swum in a tasty cream sauce. Supporting Summer greens complimented the pie well. A final word on the service. As excellent as the food, with special mention to Lanie who is a hard worker and knows the right blend between being professional and friendly. A credit to the restaurant. We look forward our next visit to Keswick and Brasserie 31.

Lovely hotel, reception staff member was curt when asked for a table and simply pointed to the restaurant doors. Maitre'd was efficient. Food was just passable. The 2 curries we had were far to salty, one being nearly inedible. Started of prawn was good. Won't go back
