Came across this place in the off chance, me and my wife had a bacon and sausage butty for breakfast with a cup of tea. The great thing for us was they cater for gluten free. The breakfast was amazing, you get plenty for your money, and the selection of GF desserts are fantastic. Well worth a visit. Thank you Denise & Andy

We visited here last year & enjoyed the cheese scones which came in several varieties at a reasonable price (for Keswick). Today we returned & were very disappointed. The table service didnât materialise so I had to go to the counter to order. The cheese scones that were on offer turned out to be tasteless & tough & the fancy loose leaf tea for two came in quite small pot for two people. The bill came to ÂŁ15.60! They did give us a small discount when we complained but even for Keswick this was very expensive. All in all a poor experience

Had a birthday afternoon tea treat here. Was a bit of a faff to book - had to buy a gift voucher then redeem it - but was nice. 3 different sandwich choices (cut in half). 2 scones (1 x fruit 1x date/walnut?) with plenty of jam and clotted cream! Lots of cake but only one of each so had to cut in half so we could both try a bit đ€Ł. We ended up taking the cakes home and having them later as we were so full. Prosecco was good too. My only criticism is the table we had - only 2 of us but large odd shaped table which made it difficult to negotiate the food plus hard seat so not that comfortable. Staff friendly and informative.

The food is delicious! I highly recommend for lunch & homemade cakes, in particular the Victoria sandwich, which was the nicest cake Iâve eaten in a long time! I went for lunch with my mum & we really enjoyed visiting. The only downside was the pop music that was being played inside. It was quite loud and not what youâd expect in a tearoom. We were sat near the serving area on a quiet Thursday afternoon and we found it hard to hear each other over the music.

I'd like to give this a better review as it seemed like a nice place overall, but my food wasn't brilliant (the bacon in my savoury crepe was tough as old boots) and the waiting staff were quite young and nonchalant (forgetting to bring cutlery, and just being a bit awkward with their interactions). Otherwise it was pretty okay, and a good option if you have kids and/or dogs.

Dropped in for a brief lunch break with my wife on a very wet Keswick day. Only a smallish cafe and it looks unassuming when you first walk in. Ordered the Sweet Potato & Thyme soup, plus a bacon ciabatta roll. Wow! What great grub! The soup was superb - one of the best Iâve had anywhere in ages. And the thick, cured bacon in the roll was great - proper, thick bacon, cooked really well. Absolutely delicious. Really good little find of a cafe shop and highly recommended.

Lovely cafe in Keswick Town centre. What I liked is that the cakes are not standard and there were different options. There were festive favourites in drinks including a gingerbread and cream latte. Not great for the waistline but lovely after a walk. We had hot chocolate, latte and cinnamon crumble flapjack which also had a mincemeat layer. Very Christmassy

What a shambolic experience. Visited to what I thought would be great to good reviews. Seated at a dirty table with still dirty plates on, waited ten mins before someone came across to the next table to clear it. Asked could we order and was told to wait. We left unhappy. If you are going to open a business at least get the staff customer focused and not chatting between themselves.

Lovely service and a lovely looking place. However, they got our order wrong so my daughterâs simple ham and cheese sandwich came as a panini with melted double Gloucester (or similar bright orange cheese) and ham. She did not like it, understandably. My curried chickpea sandwich came as chickpeas mixed with mayo and curry powder - as disgusting as it sounds. Cakes looked delightful and the raspberry and white choc scone was nice. But the rest - sticky toffee, cinnamon swirl and rocky road - BLAND. The chocolate in the rocky road was the cheapest do the cheap - you know the taste I mean! The cupcake was tiny, 60% icing, 30% jam inside ( not advertised to have jam) and the rest sponge. ÂŁ4.75 for the privilege. So all in all we paid ÂŁ80 for four people and a 2 year old to eat poor sandwiches and a cake each. The tiny bottles of long life juice were ÂŁ3.75 a pop. Drop your prices and increase your quality ASAP. Donât go there unless you donât mind being ripped off and leaving hungry.

I was visiting Keswick and I read some good reviews about this place. But when we got in, they sat some people that arrived after us first. And then the waitress came to take the order, and she was talking to quietly. I couldn't hear her well. I told her repeatedly if she could speak louder, please, as I couldn't hear her, but she didn't care. I told her if she could bring us an Afternoon Tea for two people, and then she said she was going to go ask in the kitchen if they wanted to prepare it (what?!). There were other tables eating the Afternoon Tea. Then she came back, and talking quietly again, she said they said not now, they might do it in thirty minutes. So we simply left. The staff behind the bakery looked a bit confused that we left so soon. But sorry, the waitresshad a very rude attitude, and it was illogical that other tables were eating the Afternoon Tea, but when we asked she said no and then went to ask the kitchen if they wanted to prepare it. What was that?! "Wanted to"? We don't know if she was like that because she saw we're tourists or if she's equally rude to everyone. We went to another place were everyone had the opposite attitude - they were very kind. I won't come back to the Wild Strawberry ever again and I don't recommend it. I did read some reviews before in which customers say there's rude young staff... Sadly, it's still the case. Better go somewhere else!

The Wild Strawberry has always been our first stop for morning coffee on any visit to Keswick. This time however I was disappointed. The service remains very friendly and helpful and there is a good range of cakes and bakes. The crepes were also very good. We wet here for an afternoon tea which we booked in advance. We also had a gluten free afternoon tea as I am a coeliac, and this was specified at the booking stage. The tea was fantastic with nothing too much trouble. The sandwiches were tasty and on rolls rather than dainty sandwiches but that wasn't an issue for me as gluten free bread is hit and miss at times and this was a definite hit. Cakes were also good looking and delicious. Theres plenty to eat and we took cakes and rolls back to eat later.

We stopped by the Wild Strawberry for a drink and a cake early one afternoon this week. Our cakes were very good as was my wife's latte but my mocha lacked any texture as though the milk had been over-heated which was disappointing. Service was just about OK but the young service staff seemed unfocused and the youngster who took our order was chewing gum. I appreciate that businesses have had to increase prices to cover higher costs but this doesn't excuse sloppy service.

We have been here a while ago and enjoyed it, but, boy, what has happened? We entered the place and there was a young girl leaning on the counter doodling, she didn't even look up. I said "are you still serving?" " Yeah" We found a table and sat down.......There were staff with brooms sweeping the floor, right up to the table we were on...banging the brushes into chairs etc. No one spoke, let alone asked us if we wanted anything. They may as well have said "Bugger off lady". We got up, walked towards the door, again no one spoke, I did say to "doodling girl"..why we were leaving, not a hoot was given. We went across the road to another cafe, with remarkably pleasant staff and lots of banter.
