It was OK, a bit expensive for what it was. Very busy. Rather cramped towards the little kitchen area which needed to be passed to access the toilets. Staff bringing hot food out, too. A lil too narrow to be safe. I know dogs are everywhere, but not good in a busy environment, especially when they're straining on the leash to meet other dogs. I'm allergic to dogs, so it's not the place for me. We still think it's unhygienic to have them on food premises. I know I won't be popular for voicing this.

Service and atmosphere were good - but that’s where it stops. The prices are extortionate for what you get - a 330ml of coke was £4.50. I ordered bacon, maple syrup in a crepe - the bacon was over cooked and the presentation of the food was poor - plus it was £10.95! Plenty of better options, there are many cafes around this spot, you would definitely be better going elsewhere.

This busy Keswick cafe serves excellent tea, brewed with leaves not teabags. Thank you for that. The cakes are excellent. I had the Victoria sponge that was moist and a generous size and filled with fresh cream. My partner had the croissant filled with fruit and fresh cream. The croissant was crisp and the combination was an amazing treat.

Only space was upstairs, we sat next to a large bluetooth speaker booming out rap music and upbeat dance music. I felt like I was in a gym or something. Food was OK. Kid’s tomato/pesto crepe was fairly inedible, watery and tasteless. Soup was good. For the cream teas, scones are a bit too crumbly and would prefer a seedless jam. Tea ratio must have been off because it was pretty watery. In general it was a fairly unenjoyable experience.

We stopped for a drink with our dogs and were glad for a shaded area as it was very warm. I was shocked at the price of the drinks. Ridiculous. A mandarin and Seville orange Fentimans was £4.55 and a pumpkin milkshake £6.75. We were going to leave but as it was market day everywhere else was having and we were thirsty. Decided against eating here even though the scones looked lovely. I think the mark up on the bottle of Fentimans is taking the proverbial. The seating area needs a good sweep and the flowers could have done with some water as they were parched.

I have been before in previous years as being Gluten free they always had a good selection. Today though I could not believe that I was charged £10.50 for a small roll that contained some grated cheese, no coleslaw or salad, just a solitary roll on a big plate. Not sure how anyone can justify that price, I know from being a coeliac that gluten free items cost more but this is unbelievable.

We have probably been visiting this tea room for about 15 years once or twice a year and have loved it each time until this time. We visited as a family, myself, husband and two children. My husband and I both had a BLT which were very tasty, and my 5 year old had a child’s picnic meal. I thought it was rather overpriced at £12.95 but we were having a last treat for the last day of the holiday, we asked if the child’s sandwich could be bacon instead of the options of jam, ham or cheese and were told that it could be but it would be another £4……..£17 for a kids meal! So she chose jam, it arrived in a little basket, which she loved but the meal was absolutely ridiculous for the price, a jam sandwich on a ciabatta which was rather chewy isn’t great for a 5 year old, so I had to try and break some of it away to make it palatable for her, the white chocolate cookie was nice, and the cake, was a hard shortbread rocky road type thing, she could barely bite it! So for £12.95, it was a total rip off, if you are offering children’s meals, maybe cater to children, normal bread and some cupcakes, let’s be honest simple is better when it comes to kids, not sourdough ciabattas! 🙄 The cream tea was tasty, but came with such a measly portion of clotted cream it was hardly worth bothering I felt the £50 we spent was completely not worth it, the service wasn’t great and the waitresses could barely muster a smile between them. We won’t be back, we did wonder why it was so quiet, we have never seen so few people in there, but at the end of our visit we kind of saw why, such a shame as we have always loved our treat in there each year

Can’t comment on the food as didn’t stay long enough. Came in to get a tea and a cake while it rained… offered a table and advised they’d come and take our order ‘shortly’. 20 minutes later we hadn’t been served (despite there only being 2 other tables occupied — dread to think what it’s like when they’re busy…?) We had, however had time to read the menu… £10.95 for A crepe - that’s right - 1 crepe! £9.00 for a sandwich… Any way - we decided to leave before we were served …

Pretty slow from entering to getting served. We have been a few times and told to wait at table but then not got served for more than 15 mins so had to chase waitresses of which there were around 5/6 just milling around the coffee machines chatting. And price of coffee and drinks very expensive, 4.55 for a coffee seems a lot even if high season, and £4.50 for a baby chino is the most expensive I have seen for some hot milk. Didn’t help that the americano was only half full in the mug too. Guessing they would rather you come just to eat because coffee is just as nice and cheaper in other places. Won’t be going again

Had sandwiches, drinks, and cakes. Overall food was pretty good but it was a bit on the expensive side for what it is. Obviously the location plays into that somewhat but a BLT with a little pile of coleslaw for £11 is a bit steep wherever you are. Cakes are good, but beware the slices are enormous so get one to share or you'll be on a sugar rush for the rest of the day.

Nice cafe but bit of a tourist trap. Giving a lower rating because it was overpriced. I paid £61 for a couple of sandwiches, crepes and drinks. Fentiman soda was £4.55 each. It’s a premium soda so I expect to pay more but this is higher than I’ve paid anywhere in UK for it. Coffees were over £4.50 each too. Selection of food is nice but limited so if you are looking for traditional cafe with hearty food this isn’t one for you. For context had a similar meal in Ambleside the day before and it cost £42. Food and service was ok but not special enough to warrant the inflated prices.

Was a bit of a faff to book - had to buy a gift voucher then redeem it - but was nice. 3 different sandwich choices (cut in half). 2 scones (1 x fruit 1x date/walnut?) with plenty of jam and clotted cream! Lots of cake but only one of each so had to cut in half so we could both try a bit 🤣. We ended up taking the cakes home and having them later as we were so full. Prosecco was good too. My only criticism is the table we had - only 2 of us but large odd shaped table which made it difficult to negotiate the food plus hard seat so not that comfortable. Staff friendly and informative.

I went for lunch with my mum & we really enjoyed visiting. The only downside was the pop music that was being played inside. It was quite loud and not what you’d expect in a tearoom. We visited here at the end of our last trip to Keswick and vowed to return. In fact, we returned twice in the same week! The hotel and restaurant were refurbished in the last few years and it has been completed tastefully. However, that needs to be backed by high quality food and service and no need to worry there. On visiting last time we both had the seabass and it was so good, we had it again on our return. It always seems mean to only get one fillet but no such worries here. These are backed up by really tasty new potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables together with a tomato sauce. Every element of the dish tastes fantastic and also complement each other. Forcing ourselves to try something else we had fish pie on our second visit. This can often sound interesting but be bland. Not here, we big chucks of salmon and haddock swum in a tasty cream sauce. Supporting Summer greens complimented the pie well. A final word on the service. As excellent as the food, with special mention to Lanie who is a hard worker and knows the right blend between being professional and friendly. A credit to the restaurant. We look forward our next visit to Keswick and Brasserie 31.

Stopped by chance during a circular walk. Good service and made to feel very welcome. The tea and coffee was appreciated as were the spotless WC! Will call again.
