The Stag Inn & Restaurant in Allerdale

Just had the most gorgeous meal best we have had in this area. Definitely get your money’s worth and not expensive either definitely will be back

We visited the Stag for a family meal after visiting a few years ago. Food was as tasty as ever and we were made to feel welcome by the team.Varied menu and good quality food; fantastic roasts and the steak and ale pie was delicious - clearly all made by someone who cares :)

Wanted some food while passing through while on holiday in the lake district, just passed it by chance. So glad we did. We were late, about 2.00pm. The guys were polite, pleasant, happy for our two dogs to come in we ordered two roast lamb with black pudding g and a red currant sauce with all the trimmings,absolutely delicious we had home made banoffee pie and ha. Roly poly with custard. Best roast lunch we've had for a long while . Highly recommend a visit.

The Stag Inn was local to the cottage we were staying in during our holiday. It was recommended by the cottage owner’s as a great place for an evening meal and a drink. We visited on a Wednesday evening during August after pre-booking on the Monday. The dining area was busy and bustling with diners. We ordered from the main menu a starter and main. The starters arrived promptly and tasted great with the main meal arriving soon afterward. The main meals were hot and tasty with plenty of flavour with a good selection of locally sourced specialties and some old favourites. Local Desserts are available served with ice cream, cream or custard.A local pub with a friendly atmosphere and a traditional local selection of meals

Lovely pub with a very friendly landlord and great staff. Dog friendly as well. The food was excellent and surprisingly fast, also reasonably priced.

Visited on the 19/10/19 and was really impressed. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The the was delicious and will definitely be going again. Thank you for an enjoyable meal.

Popped into the stag in Crosby, maryport on Monday night for a quick tea. Great food and generous portions as usual. Great beer and lovely staff. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Sunday Lunch was ok but could be better. The portions were generous and the meat was good quality, My mash however was cold. The service was pretty good and everyone was friendlyIf I was passing I might eat there again, but wouldnt make a special effort

We visited the Stag inn for Sunday lunch last weekend. Really enjoyed the meal and brilliant value. Will return when we are next up that way!

We can always be sure of a friendly welcome here!! The food is excellent. Half of our party had chicken fajitas and the other half chicken with Brie and cranberry. Excellent salads and great chips came alongside. Generous portions, good atmosphere. We’ll be back!

3 different roasts, roast taties, mash, yorkies, multiple vegetables with lashings of gravy all for under a tenner. Excellent guality food for the price.

Visited whilst on holiday in the area and wouldn't hesitate to go back if again in the region.Young staff very frendly and efficient. All meals were hot and tasty - my omelette in particular was exceptional.It is a shame that the restaurant area was poorly supported on a Wednesday lunch time - locals - rally round and support this pub.

Excellent Evening Meal. Food quality was second to none. Probably the most comprehensive menu that I have ever seen.. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Visited the stag after a day out on the lakes in Windermere what can I say, well to start the bar staff were really friendly the guy even let us try the lager to see if we liked it before we ordered our drinks, we decided on steak for our main course it was amazing and even come with home cooked chips, defiantly recomend can only say thank you for making us welcome,,,

After reading reviews etc me and a few friends decided to try out this place. Food was alright but that’s all it was alright. Can’t fault the good selection of drink, top notch.

I have been several times to The Stag for a meal. Never disappointed, the food is good, real ale is good, a friendly welcome, I've enjoyed a great steak, Sunday lunch, and a stuffed chicken breast there. Fresh vegetables, everything nicely cooked. My favourite place to eat in this area.
