The best restaurants serving British food in North West

Beautiful food people and service. They even put th fire on especially for us. Beautiful place. Definitely recommend and be going again very soon. I had the gammon egg and pineapple which was honestly the best I've had.

Preciosa comida hoy. Comí pastel de carne con guisantes, puré y salsa. Gran porción que no pude terminar. El pastel era precioso y lleno de trozos de carne. Esposo tenía un tocino y huevo porra que dijo que era muy agradable. ¡El pan estaba bien y fresco y luego terminó mi pastel! Precios muy razonables también.

We visited late September 2024 to celebrate my father’s birthday. Was not disappointed! Greeted by extremely friendly and welcoming staff (who also made a lovely fuss of our cocker spaniel) and we all had Sunday dinners. Food was exceptional. I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection by Clare and incredibly tasty too. Will certainly be returning!

Lovely hosts and exquisite food. Comfortable and cosy. The menu will startle you. The quality of the fresh ingredients is wonderful. Animal friendly. Just a friendly hotel. Probably dress smartly for Dinner. The bar is well stocked. The hosts will go out of their way to make you stay ver special...Just go to Overwater Hotel. You will go back!

Hidden but what a great establishment. The staff are lovely and the vibe is great. Not too loud and can hear each other talk. Would recommend. Not a rush

Having booked a table in another pub in the village and found it wanting, we headed over to this one. It appeared that this was where the locals go, as it was busy compared to the other. Great range of beers and ales, unlike the other place that had one. Loved the pie and peas and came away with a very cheap bar tab... Thank you.

Honestly enjoyed this experience so much, was an absolute pleasure to spend my birthday with the beautiful cats at cafe meow! 😸 The staff were lovely and really informative on all the cats :) The cats are so well looked after, all pampered just how they should be ❤️ Was lovely that could so see the new cats too so they didn’t feel left out 😸 Wish I lived locally as I would honestly return weekly! I love the fact the cats are up for adoption, it’s a fab way of helping out local rescue centres and allowing the cats to have a stepping stone before they get their forever home ❤️ keep up the great work!! Will definitely be returning soon and telling everyone about you guys at cafe meow! :)

Having recently moved to Cheshire, this has been one of the stand-out establishments I have experienced so far. In fact I'm struggling to think of a better place I have used in my 50+ years strolling the planet!

I went to no.90 for Sunday lunch with family. On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Maxine. There is a set menu Sunday lunch, and it was so hard to decide what to have as I fancied all the dishes on there! After a delicious starter, I went for the roast beef dinner, which was superb! I do not think you could get a better Sunday lunch that gives you the choice and price and the personal service from the owners anywhere else in the area. Must also give a mention to the lovely young man who was also serving, very polite and professional. From start to finish, they have this so right. If you are in the area, it's well worth a visit Many thanks for a great experience .

We had a gorgeous meal in Oaks restaurant. A 3 course feast that started with Coquilles St Jacques (a wonderful mixture of scallops and potato) main was perfectly cooked lamb and, to finish, Creme Brûlée. My fellow dinner guests all had something different but every plate was clear and a lot of contented nodding was going on. Bravo!

Having been given a voucher for this cruise as a gift, we weren't sure what to expect. My husband made the booking over the phone and immediately commented on how friendly and helpful the lady was who helped with our booking. We turned up on a very frosty morning and stood viewing the ice on the water! We were boarded at 11.45 and shown to our allocated table. The boat was duly decked out with Christmas decorations and for the whole cruise we were regaled with Christmas songs. The food (which we had ordered from the menu prior to the cruise) was really delicious and we considered ours to be ample portions. Above all, the service was amazing and the staff worked tirelessly. It appeared that everything ran like clockwork and at the end of the cruise we considered it a lovely way to spend about 3 hours. The price paid was really good value for money and this canal cruise is now firmly on our 'To Do' list for 2020.

El personal nos conoce tan bien que están haciendo nuestros pedidos de bebidas cuando ven que viene en la puerta! Los perros son bienvenidos, en interiores y exteriores. Hay asientos adicionales arriba, afuera y atrás. Es un pequeño centro comunitario adecuado, donde sientes que la gente está genuinamente contenta de verte.

Looking for a wedding venue in locality of Southport, this place knocked spots off everywhere else in Southport. From meeting Julie who runs the venue, the welcome was warm, relaxed and professionally run as Julies experience of doing the role 45 or so years showed. No question was a silly question and Julie gave great advice on alternative ways of decorations, foods, and tips for us as bride and groom. The building is magnificent and we had the whole ground floor solely for wedding party. The chef Phil was amazing as his food for breakfast and evening buffet was, and his laid back attitude of whatever you want I can do not a problem, first class. My wife to be was in tears of joy seeing the actual layout of the wedding breakfast room the day before they did us proud. The whole day was like clockwork professionally run by Julie and her team and made us both feel extra special. Many guests, commented on what a lovely venue this is and how fab the food was. We would highly recommend the venue
