Having booked a table in another pub in the village and found it wanting, we headed over to this one. It appeared that this was where the locals go, as it was busy compared to the other. Great range of beers and ales, unlike the other place that had one. Loved the pie and peas and came away with a very cheap bar tab... Thank you.

Fantastic “real” pub with really friendly staff, although it’s a community pub with a real local feel, we were made to feel so welcome. An unbelievable choice of drinks and ales for a village pub, spotlessly clean, set right in the heart of the village- don’t miss it if you are in the area

Been to The Crooked Billet for a couple of Christening 'do's' and they have been brilliant. A fantastic pub with a lovely atmosphere and very welcoming. The food and choice of booze is excellent and the friendliness of the place has meant that we have lingered long after the party has finished. This pub is also a brilliant stopping off point on a long country walk. Highly recommended.

Best pub I have ever been in for food drink and a great time . Staff were very friendly as were the locals. If pubs were run like this one they would not be in demise. The beer and meals are very keenly priced cant see anyone doing better quality for less. Great place and a jewel of a village.

A traditional pub where the majority of customers are locals but at no point did we feel as if we were intruding, in fact quite the opposite. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the beer was excellent. We had a 5 month baby with us and when we entered there were no 'oh no' expressions pulled by the regulars which is great. The fact that the pub also welcomes mud covered cyclists is a good indication of their attitude, the sign only requests that the 'muddy people' stay off the carpeted seated areas. thoroughly enjoyed a few hours there. Recommended.

We visited this pub while traveling in the UK, stopping for a drink and a late snack around 9.30pm. We had the steak and ale pie and mushy peas and the steak and potato pies and they were so tasty. Friendly service, friendly locals and great value for money. Wish we had longer to visit again!!

We have been to the crooked billet a few times now, always a warm welcome and friendly staff the owners are really welcoming, the pub itself is really warm and cosy always clean and always busy !! ( the sign of a cracking pub ) my sister lives in worsthorne so we have been to the 70/80's night a few times and are always the last to leave ha ha I would recommend this pub to anyone whole heartedly, they do food at the weekends and cater for parties.

I worked weekends in this pub 50 years ago when it was run by Jack and Wyn Coates. The only food then was pie and peas and plain crisps. For food it does not appear to, have changed much. However it is a good village pub and is a "must" when I go home (from Newcastle) The staff and owners are very friendly and there remains a good atmosphere

We arranged to meet some friends who had travelled up from Cornwall and we were all impressed by the friendy welcome and ambience of this traditional village pub.The staff were excellent and as it was a Thursday night we were entertained by what seemed to be a rather impromptu gathering of musicians (violins, guitars and even a harp) who played a brilliant music mix.The choice of real ales is very good and at a reasonable price,so if you are in the area this pub is certainly worth visiting. If we lived in Worsthorne I would be tempted to call more often.

Went one evening during the week to what was billed as the Folk Night - rather disappointing as it was more of a get together of people playing predominantly folk dance music in a separate area. The range of beers was excellent, however after seeing all the signs around the place advertising pie and peas we decided to order some - only to find that they don't serve hot food at night during the week, only sandwiches, so we all left to find somewhere to eat. Very disappointing so probably won't visit again.

I don't often get the chance to visit Worsthorne these days but when I do I always make a point of visiting the Crooked Billet at least once during my stay. A friendly place with a good village pub atmosphere, comfortable surroundings and an excellent range of beers, some brewed locally, together with efficient friendly service. Prices are very reasonable especially when compared with where I live!
