Lovely man who gave me and my friend free jacket spuds after we had travelled everywhere looking for food and not having any joy . Tim was already shut when I approached him but he was kind enough to sort us food after hours walking the hills . Your kindness was much appreciated Large potatoes with lots of cheese and beans

This was my first visit to Tattie Tim’s stall and it won’t be my last. A proper jacket potato with a generous filling. I debated on which filling to choose and finally decided for chilli con carne and cheese, really delicious. I liked how traditional it felt and the service with politeness and a smile. Thanks for a fantastic feed Tim.

Well worth a visit for fast (but healthy and really tasty) food in the shape of a hot spud! Tattie Tim is a national treasure and a real character of Penrith. Apparently, people travel from all over the world to meet him! With excellent food, efficient and entertaining service and a twinkle in his eye, Tattie Tim's jacket spuds are an essential visit for anyone!

I had a jacket potato a couple of days ago from Tim and they're always really nice, I like the chilli and also the cheese and coleslaw he never scrimps on the fillings. Very nice man as well.

I have had a couple of baked potatoes recently for lunch and the bacon and homemade coleslaw is the best filling and he certainly doesn't scrimp on the filling!

Tatty Tim is a local celebrity in Penrith, always smiling and serving up great 'tatties' with delicious fillings. Don't underestimate what is being served up, they're very filling and piping hot.

Decided to get a "world famous" tatty Tim's. Not that bad really but the baked potato was soggy and had been cooked in foil so no nice crispy skin. No salad available either. Quite expensive too for one filling at £3.50! He is busy so I guess he's popular with the local types. I wouldn't bother going back I'd get subway etc better value imo.

Well where to start freshly cooked daily large portions lots of choice for fillings super tasty and a big friendly welcome and he even does weddings and other events by far the best jacket spuds in town you'll be guaranteed to have a full tummy after eating one of tattie Tim's jacket pots.

Thinking of eating lunch on a budget, then this place is well worth a visit as specially because Tim's potatoes are health and wholesome you have a wide choice of fillings from the traditional to the more exotic.

This Tatty Tim is awful. Why the h%&l. Food hygiene..forget it..he handles money and foods with the same gloves! The potatoes are soggy with no crispy skins. No salads or healthy option offered. Why all the hype? He sells unhealthy 5hit! Butter. Cheese.meat.etc. Just avoid.

I have been buying jacket potatoes here for some years now and they are delicious and reasonably priced. If you are a visitor to Penrith and want simple, good, hot food, then make your way to the Penrith Monument and buy a tattie here! You'll not be sorry.

I work in Penrith and normally take my lunch with me so have no reason to go out normally but it's been very cold recently so I decided I needed something warm and went for a jacket potato. There's normally a queue but he works as fast as he can and you don't wait long and the potatoes are really nice, he does lots of different fillings and I had chilli which I really enjoyed. I will definitely be having more.

Been having tatties of Tim for awhile. Nothing he makes disappoints. His bolognase with added xtra hot chilli sauce is my personal favourite. He also caterers for the slimming world community with alot of his sauces. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love food from tattie tim. Such good value for money and the portions are such a good size. All of the food is tasty and the potatoes are great themselves. Have even been known to come into Penrith just for a tattie. Tim is so friendly as well, always service with a smile.

great man, great fillings and great tatties. there is a wide choice of fillings and he always seems busy. he's always on the street working hard so go and support a local business who gets supplies from local companies.

Myself and a friend and heard that his was the place to be to pick up a quick quality lunch. We were highly disaapointed. We asked if we could have our jacket split into to boxes as we had a big meal planned for the evening. We were told we couldn't do that and had to have 1 whole potato each. We then asked if we could take a second box away with us to split back in the office and again our request was denied. With this we ended up going back to the office with two potatoes one of which had a very salty skin to the point that neither one of us, nor 2 of our fellow colleagues could eat it. The beans we had were cold, which wasn't good seen as though the commute back to the office was a 3 minute walk. The cheese was over powering on my colleagues jacket and she couldn't bare to eat it. Overall we found the service to be Apauling. Rude manors, no eye contact was made throughout with either one of us and the good was disappointing. I hope this was a one off as I have heard so many good reviews, however we shall not be going back.

Only baked potato where there is enough filling to go with the potato. Tim is always good for a crack (Cumbrian for talk) and he varies his specials each day. My favourite is cheese, coleslaw and bacon! Yummy

Tatty Tim is the best. He is always full of banter, you can look on facebook to see what today's special is before setting off and you have a full meal in a box!Best big fluffy tatties!!! I would recommend to anyone!He also does outside catering for any occasion.

Have been going since school days (over 10 years ago!) and still the thing i most look forward to when coming back to visit. A-MAZING jacket potatoes - recommend just cheese. Huge servings and lovely guy.

We live and work in Penrith and often frequent Tattie Tim.He's there all weathers with a cheery smile and light hearted banter.His potatoes are SPUD-TACULAR!!! Large portions, gorgeously tasty fillings and an unbeatable price.Our faves are meatballs with cheese and sausage casserole....YUMMY!!!You've not done Penrith if you haven't been to Tim!

Tattie Tim is something of a local legend, serving jacket potatoes with numerous fillings (from conventional for the 'conservative' palate, to the bizarre for the more 'brave' palate!) and has been doing so for longer than i care to remember. One of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet, he's based next to the Penrith Monument (clock) in the centre of town and come rain, hail or shine is there selling the tastiest take-away jacket potatoes you will ever eat with so many fillings (and combinations of fillings) that the choice is endless. Portions are between plentiful and huge, and if you have one at lunchtime then you're set up for the day - no evening meal required! It's all good simple healthy food, done well - and that's it. Jacket spud with single filling is just over £2 with multi-fillings between £3.50 to £4 - honestly, you can't go wrong. All the locals know how good a job he does, so this next parts for non-locals and tourists. Buy a jacket spud, and either take a short wander to the rear of St Andrews church garden where there's benches and wildlife where you can sit and eat in pleasant surroundings, or take a wander up to Penrith's Castle Park with the kids (yes, he does 'kiddy' sized portions too) and enjoy it whilst the kids can charge around in safe surroundings, and you can eat til your belly,s content!

Delicious, generous portion size and very reasonably priced. He even supplies golf umbrellas to borrow while you queue should you be caught in the rain. Enough said. Highly recommended.

Visited Tattie Tim's several times over the past few months. Great guy. Always lots of choice for fillings.Potatoes are excellent and there is enough filling to keep you going for the rest of the day. Value for money is amazing, between £2 and £4, per "tattie".Would highly recommend visiting whenever you are in Penrith. Tim is there in all weathers and even provides umbrellas so you don't get too wet while waiting in the queue.

Tim is the most friendly person you could wish to meet and nothing is too much trouble for Tim. The potatoes are very filling and hot and he has a really good selection of hot and cold fillings including a daily special which caters for Slimming World customers as it indicates the Syn value (Thai Green Curry is a must). If you are ever in Penrith visiting and would like to find Tattie Tim he is situated by the monument clock and he is there in all weathers. Tim also does catering for parties, christenings, weddings etc which makes a nice change from having a buffet style do.

I have never seen such large potatoes or fillings in all my life!!!A meal in itself.We call on "Tim" every time we are down in Penrith.Last time he saved the day when we walked out of The Board and Elbow Still waitng for our meal after 55 mins and terrible cheek from the lady behind the bar.WE walked out very cross and HUNGRY but Tattie Tim got us sorted out with a lovely Baked Potato.My husband loves the Meatballs as a filling, but you must have a big appetite for this!! All in all we highly recommend!!
