It’s been a few years since I have visited Morland but work brought myself and a colleague through the village yesterday. Whilst completing our paperwork we decided on a brew and a snack. We popped into the cafe and were made to feel very welcome by the owner Sarah and lovely staff member and even greeted with kindness by the patrons. We only had a take away coffee and a breakfast sandwich each, which was lovely. It’s so nice here I’m going to visit again and bring my Mum for lunch. Thanks.

Lovely spot. Just a shame I went too late to try out any lunch options ( 2.45 pm ). But the Tyrril's Blonde and freshly baked homemade cheese scone were cracking. Beer at £4 a pint? Now that's a bargain. Lovely staff too.

We recently stayed at Morland House and the Mill Yard Cafe was recommended to us by the owners. We were a group of 17 and pre-ordered wood-fired pizzas for our first evening, quite simply to save anyone having to cook! The pizzas were absolutely delicious, ready on time and the order was fulfilled perfectly, we can’t recommend enough! Thank you so much!

Been here a few times when sraying with friends in Morland. What a gem of a place. Owners Rob and Sarah are lovely and friendly and produce the best food...it is no greasy caf thats for sure. The pizzas on Friday evening are amazing, don't be fooled by the size..9inch or 12inch.. they are plenty big enough. If you are in the area definitely go and visit.

Decided to follow a road sign on the off-chance yesterday. So glad we did. Lovely little cafe in an idyllic position. Having found a seat the owner polity asked if we would mind sitting upstairs as she had just taken a booking from a person with limited mobility. Glad they look after such customers. Absolutely no problem. Service was great, staff friendly and food was excelant. Lots of choice for my wife who is celiac.

The problem, with the Mill Yard Cafe, is that there isn't one and a lot of people know that. I suggest you book a table, or you will end up looking in on the customers, enjoying the fare. The menu is varied and the specials board is changed regularly. I usually manage to get one of my 5-a-day there ( chips) and the staff put up with my rubbish jokes . Give it a try.

We (18 of us) were staying in the adjacent Morland House for a week and I was delighted to find that I could get a really good coffee just around the corner. The café is very popular and bookings are usually required for meals, but two of us were able to get seated for coffee and (amazing) chocolate cake. We found the staff very pleasant and efficient. The outdoor area has a great ambience and cool background music; indoors looked modern and comfortable too. Highly recommended.

Wow! This was a fantastic dining experience and if you’ve never eaten here, then you are missing out. We booked for the Christmas menu meal and it’s difficult, if not impossible, to suggest any improvement. Our table was beautifully decorated for a Christmas meal with crackers and table decorations. It was a set menu with a choice for the three courses ( you could choose two courses). The soup was perfect and a great start to the meal. The smoked salmon and prawns starter was much appreciated. The main course of turkey with all the trimmings was chosen by all of us and four empty plates a short time later spoke for themselves. It couldn’t have been better. The Christmas pudding was cooked to perfection and disappeared very quickly! The service was first class and there was no rush with the staff working incredibly hard. The meal was extremely good value for money at £25 per head plus drinks. Car parking is close by. One cautionary note…if you have any mobility issues, request a table on the ground floor…the steps to the first floor are quite steep. This restaurant is highly recommended. Thanks to all the staff for making this visit a memorable one.

The place itself was quite nice and luckily we’d visited when the weather was warm. Sadly the lady who greeted us when we arrived lacked warmth. We were seated outside which was okay. I was quite surprised as it was only mid morning and there was only one scone left?? The biggest let down though was the attitude of the lady who served us - sadly it turned out to be the owner. Maybe we caught her on a bad day who knows. She never once made us feel welcome or even managed to raise a smile! They call themselves “dog friendly” but sadly I didn’t get that impression as it was not stated on their website. In hospitality the least you can do is make the customer feel welcome and valued, sadly we felt neither.

I arrived at the cafe with my family (inc our 3yr old son) at 2:20pm after a long walk. We were hoping to get some lunch and the sign outside advertised serving food until 3pm. We were told by staff that we could only be served drinks and cake. We accepted we had arrived a little late in the day and so choose some cakes. We noticed that some other customers who appeared to be local to the village were being served lunch. A couple arrived at about 2:50pm as were getting ready to leave and ordered food from the lunch menu. We felt it was a real shame to pick and choose who to serve lunch to, surely all customers should be treated the same. We are also local, we live a few miles from the cafe but unfortunately although the food looked lovely, we won't be visiting again.

We recently stayed on a two night Travelzoo deal. The hotel is finished to a lovely stylish clean standard. The pub food was lovely, fresh and tasty. We did find it a little steeper price wise to what we are familiar with. The room was nicely finished and comfortable. The light did pour through the window when cars drove past at night and also under the door from the hallway which kept me awake. The radiator in the room was technical and it wouldn’t come on so we were happy to have an electric heater too. Breakfast was continental, it was nice but we felt it was missing some meat and maybe more exciting cheeses. The coffee was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful but out of the three we dealt with we felt one of them wasn’t so professional and sincere. Shouting things to the kitchen before the door was closed and generally a bit rude. The check in /out times were a touch late/early. Otherwise well done Dukes head and travelzoo too.

My husband and I visited this lovely pub on a Monday night. They serve a 2 course set menu for £25 including a drink which we’d seen about on the website before booking and were very interested to try. I had the beetroot skewers and haddock and my husband had sausages followed by sticky toffee pudding and we both really enjoyed everything. The portion sizes were really good for such a good value menu and we both liked the fact that the menu focused on sustainability and trying to reduce waste. Really cosy pub with a welcoming atmosphere and we’ll definitely be back to try their main menu.
