The best restaurants serving British food in North West

Bought take out pie to take home with us, only got cheese one left, we were looking forward to it as got great reviews but just average

I rarely write reviews however with Briardene Hotel, I have too. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave the hotel and staff are far above what I would generally expect. Every staff member was friendly, polite, full of local knowledge if you needed it. And they take time out to make your visit special. The food was amazing, perhaps my general food is tasteless as as soon as I had the breakfast I was shocked at how good a breakfast can be. The hotel, every time I sat down and just looked around, I realised how someone had taken real time and effort to make everything work. It is far beyond a normal hotel. On a negative note. Briardene owners are asking for trouble though, a beautifully run hotel at a price that idiots like me can afford. Not clever.

Was in the area for the first time and stopped in. Me, my mum and her old friends who were visiting from over seas all were blown away by the warm atmosphere and beautiful views of the park all around. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were so friendly and polite. We stopped for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch! Couldn’t resist after seeing what was coming from the kitchen! If you’re ever in the area I couldn’t recommend this place enough - food was delicious, menu has great options and the service was excellent. And a kind thank you to the lovely welsh woman who served us, we felt very looked after. PS - the loos were also spick and span !😊

5/5 absolutely amazing food best place to eat if your in the area.Been quite a few times now and you can’t beat it from the burgers to there steaks absolutely amazing food and drinks definitely recommend.

It was our 1st visit here and will definitely be coming back It's a lovely countryside pub/restaurant.. the staff was so friendly and welcoming .. my partner was happy you serve peroni We didn't have starters but had the fish and chips and I had the steak pudding both absolutely delicious.. for dessert my partner had rhubarb crumble I had the Malteser cheesecake again so delicious.. the bill was very reasonable too .. see you again soon Patten arms

From the minute we entered to the minute we left we had an extremely positive experience. We were served by angela - who couldn’t do anything more for us. Her customer services was excellent and she was a very welcome person. Also, we were served by the lovely Sofia who again, made our time there comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious and was everything we asked for. I would highly recommend paying a visit and we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Riva Team ❤️

Wonderful. Breakfast was excellent, hot and perfectly cooked. Staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming; they asked why we had visited and when they heard it was for my wife’s birthday they sang Happy Birthday to her right there and then. Beautiful surroundings, interesting history in the back of the menu. All in all a very special place.

First time here food was lovely service excellent highly recommend

Wonderful place, have visited many times , great friendly staff and owner, would highly recommend the cheese scones, but all the cakes are fantastic.

What an absolutely fantastic dog friendly cafe this is, The owners couldn't have been more welcoming. I had a very scared rescue dog with me, and they were so sweet to her, even giving her treats.. The tea and vegan cake were delicious, I would be in here all the time if it was nearer home. They clearly have a devoted clientele of locals which is a recommendation in itself. I thoroughly recommend you stop off here when you're in Kirby Stephen.

This lovely cafe has the Best food , always very fresh , lots of it , and although very busy at lunch( due to its great reputation), they prepare the food in super quick time , it’s service and staff are second to none , always giving you a warm welcome ( we travel 40 mins to get lunch here ) and they strive to make your visit pleasurable ! If you want the best food in Fleetwood you should not miss out on this little gem ! We thank them for making our shopping day such a pleasure ! 💐💐

Here on holiday found this little gem. Food cooked to order so fresh. Prices more reasonable in the main town too. Clean and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The tea room was shut last time we were in Allonby so we were pleased to see it was open. We were stopped from entering at the door in a slightly uncomfortable manner. We asked if there was a table for 2 which there wasn’t. We asked if there might be one later and were able to put our name down and to come back in half an hour. Our waiter was really polite and friendly but in general, the service wasn’t great and we had to ask for our drinks when we saw 2 tables who arrived and ordered after us and was clear ours had been forgotten about. Our table didn’t get cleared for a while despite several staff walking past and it was only when we grabbed the attention of someone and said we’d like to order cakes that it was finally cleared. The whole atmosphere wasn’t particularly friendly or nice. Unfortunately a disappointing experience and we wouldn’t go back in a hurry.
