Wow fully exceeded my expectations. The service was prompt and quality of food was great. Will be back again. Everyone enjoyed it

The very hot sunshine didn't deter me from driving to Mill Hill for my regular Friday lunchtime take-away! The standard is always high, with delicious haddock, crispy and tasty batter and well-cooked chips. What more could you want? Damian and ladies are always welcoming despite the very busy lunchtime trade. Thank you, and see you again next week!

Visited this chippy last week, and i wasn't disappointed. It was the best fish and chips i ve tasted in a long time.. Well done to the owner. The place was spotless and the staff pleasant. It was well worth the trip from Darwen to taste a decent fish supper. Will definitely visit again. 😊

It looked a good sign when there is a queue outside the door. It was great to see fish freshly cooked when ordered. However the end result was not evident when eaten. The chips were very soggy and certainly not crisp. The fish batter was lovely but very little fish inside. The peas were gloopy.Good price but not the quality that I expected. Service was good though

Quite simply the best fish and chips in Blackburn. The fish quality is always fresh, flaky and thick (both Cod and Haddock) and cooked to order on entry. Chips are always fresh and crispy. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and Damian loves a chat as he’s frying the fish. Absolute first class and on a par with many chippies on the coast. 10/10

Grew up in the 70s and 80s when every fish and chip shop seemed to be great. The Old Mill Hill Chippy is a throwback to those days. Quality ingredients well made and friendly staff make a visit here a must. The best around.

Friday night. Queuing out the door and well worth the wait! This place deserves its reputation, everything fresh and cooked to order. Damian seems to know everyone by name. The girls serving are friendly and fast. Absolutely delicious.

On a grey and wet October day I visited the Chippy. Fish and John Bulls are cooked to order. It had to be the Blackburn speciality The John Bull. I was not disappointed they were amazing! Pipping hot straight from the fryer. The staff were very very friendly even giving me a card so that I could pre-order in future to minimise my wait. Felt a bit greedy having two but didnt have chips to ease my conscience

The best fish and chips I have had in a long time! Portions are a good size and food really tasty. Shop is clean and welcoming - would definitely recommend.

Born in Blackburn and living down south I often find myself travelling back to Blackburn to watch football (for my sins), and on one of those visits whilst reminiscing about my old local chippy near birchhall (Darwen) in the 80s, we came across this place. Sadly they can't cook Fish n chips down south, undercooking chips till soggy and raw, and generally charging £10 a head... not a great experience and this place rammed that home... They were queing out the door (dont worry it goes down fast and its worth the wait!), everyone was talking, friendly, we ate for £13 for all three of us (all adults!) be lucky to get two at home for that! Small was large enough compared to micro portions down south, if i lived nearby I would be here every week! I can't wait for the football season to start again in August just so we can come back and eat! Will be there for the first home game and getting food here.

Fab chippy, consistent and the best one around by far, kids often get a free chip whilst waiting too!

This chippy is really busy at all times of the day, this just shows how good this chippy really is. Dameeon the guys that runs the Chippy seems to know everybody by name that comes in the shop. Even though this is a really busy shop, you don't seem to wait the girls that serve you are switched on and seem to have the mentality that as one customer leaves another ones comes through the door, so they are quick as lightening.

Their are several chip shops near to my home but I always travel to Mill Hill Chippy as the food is excellent as is the service. The shop is bright and spotlessly clean.

Fish Friday and they don't get better than the Old Mill Hill lightly battered haddock. Great taste and size. all the pies looked great as well. cant beat traditional

Called in for lunch the other day and I had fish and chips. I heard it was good. It was as good as the other chip shops in the blackburn area.

Best fish and chip shop in Blackburn and surrounding area. Damian does a Brilliant job and the staff are very friendly the place is spotless and the food is the best but a little top is get there early as it gets really busy you may have to wait but believe me it is well worth it

Best Fish n chips around..absolutely delicious, batter is perfect and you can order lightly batttered if you wish. Definitely recommend you will not be disappointed!

Absolutely brilliant, yes you may have to wait, but by god they are worth every minute of waiting. You will see that I recently reviewed another local chippy, not very pleasent to say the least. Been to Mill Hill tonight and was delicious, keep up the good work

Been coming here for a while and have to say the food is always great the staff very friendly and even though its just had a refurb which is lovely btw the prices have remained the same.Cant fault it.

Always busy. The new layout lets more people in but you can still be stood outside while the staff serve. This is not a complaint! It’s busy for a reason - it’s a good chippy.

Hice un gran pedido de más de 20 comidas (una mezcla de pescado y patatas fritas, pastel de salchichas y patatas fritas, patatas fritas) que antes sólo el día antes. Llegué a recogerlo y todo estaba siendo recién preparado en una tarifa rápida. Todo el personal era muy simpático, nada era demasiado problema, incluso cuando tuve que añadir otro pescado y patatas fritas de la orden. Todo estaba empaquetado con muchas salsas y tenedores y me ofrecieron botellas de gaseosa para ir con todo. Cuando llegué al equipo, todo el mundo decía que era absolutamente deliciosa y nada quedaba. Buen tamaño de las porciones, fresca, no grasienta. Sin duda alguna, no sólo por los pedidos de equipo nuevo, pero para mi propio té chippy regalo! Gracias a todo el personal!

We arrived at closing time, the staff are really friendly. It was no bother to make fresh fish for us all, which was really tasty. The shop is clean, no awful fatty odours. Thoroughly enjoyed by all, will definitely return and recommend.

This chipshop is an absolute gem! Our favourites are the chicken and lightly battered fish. The curry sauce is to die for aswell.

Damian provides consistently good traditional chippy food the fish cakes are a favourite for me What a pleasant surprise that a chippy in mill hill can provide healthy fresh food .ask about recipe 4 health options you will be pleasantly surprised.

This is round the corner from me And if I wasn't trying to diet I'd go there a lot more often! Staff are always friendly and quick to serve people even when it's busy they handle the queues really well. Food is always yummy and my son loves their kids meals

The fish and chips from the old mill hill chippy were the best I'd had in years. The freshly cooked fish was lightly battered,as requested,crispy and very tasty.The chips were plentiful,chunky and well-cooked. Together with great value for money,excellent service by happy and friendly owner and staff, I can highly recommend this little shop.
