The best restaurants in North West

Went here based on the tripadvisor reviews - and the food pictures! Food looked pretty good. And it WAS good. Great food and fantastic staff, 10/10 would go again without hesitation.

Had a meal on the day of new menu-disappointed that there was no choice for plain food except fish and chips!-no Scampi-no Chicken-please relook at this for plain eaters! Beef was tough in parts and the new potatoes with the fish were hard and bland! The duck was amazing as was the Eton Mess-so please please look at putting chicken on your menu -also have a mains salmon that’s not smoked!-on the whole lovely food as always-just needs a few tweeks!

Best ice cream around! Fantastic choice of flavours, fairly priced, generous portions....cannot fault Roy's Ices! Never yet been disappointed!

Our meal was simply delicious ! I had reservations about visiting simply because I'm not really a "grill" type person. However, this was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time . I had the fillet steak and it was cooked perfectly and beautifully tender . I had the pork belly for starters which likewise was delicious and not too fatty (even for pork belly). The hispi cabbage side was yum too. The only dish that was underwhelming was my partner's starter - smoked burrata - we both found it fairly tasteless . As we both love burrata , it was disappointing . That aside, the meal really was excellent and we will definitely return. Very good wine list too.

The food here is top notch. Our chickpea starter was so flavoursome I could have happily had it as a main. All the food is cooked to order and they are happy to talk you through the menu when you arrive and vary the heat of the dish if desired. There's a good drinks list and it's very reasonably priced. The service is friendly and welcoming and it all makes for a great dining experience. This is a restaurant that deserves to do well. We'll be back!

Tripadvisor recommendation works again! On a short 2-day Chester stay, after a walk around the parks & the River Dee, headed for a restorative coffee to find this quiet cosy place. Splendid coffees, really good, with some nice cakes as well, very pleasant barista too. Pretty good pricing in my view for own roast coffee. Recommended. May get busy, for which there is some additional space in the back room but not great ambience there.

Thank you so much for making our meal for our 40th wedding anniversary with our friends so memorable. The standard of food was superb and presentation exceptional, this was down to the dedication of the team in the kitchen and their mentors . The service we received from the young man (clover) was outstanding and he should be rightly proud as the rest of the serving team and mentors should be. £21 yes £21 for a three course restaurant meal and expirience. When we are next up this way on holiday we shall most definately be booking a lunch and will recommend to our family and friends. Finally a big thankyou for the marvellous cake which you presented to us. It was delicious and again a reflection of the superb team you have at the college including the your booking collegue. Great for a date night with your partner or catching up with your friends having a drink and nice food. Also great for families with children or for late evening drinking cocktails
