Best ice cream around! Fantastic choice of flavours, fairly priced, generous portions....cannot fault Roy's Ices! Never yet been disappointed!

We always go for a Roys when we're down the coastroad. It's a must-do in the area! There are always loads of flavours, different cones and lollies etc. Well known in the area and rightly so!

Wonderful choice of flavours and some of the tastiest ice cream, with a lovely view at Bardsea Sands to sit and enjoy both.....

Recommend 100% all flavours of ice-cream and ice lollys best van I've ever been too brilliant location☺

Saw the ice cream van and with it being a hot day thought we would stop. Expected nothing more than a Mr Whippy. How wrong was I! So many flavours - the lemon meringue was to die for and the waffle cones were amazing. Usually, I give my cone to the dog. He was very disappointed. Superb service and very generous portions. Have paid an awful lot more for an awful lot less. Worth every calorie.

After a couple of hours on the beach Ice cream was required. Waited in a very well organised socially distanced queue for 5 minutes. Well worth the wait. Lots of different flavours to choose from. Family very happy. Thank you Roy.

Great to see Roy’s back open Lovely ice cream on the beach. Mint choc chip is my favourite. Big queues but really worth the wait.

What a lovely day, we went past on our way home from the lake district and seen Roys Ices parked up down Bardsea. We stopped, they had cones in place for social distancing & the staff were wearing full PPE with the hot weather we’ve had recently i take my hats off to them. The staff were lovely and so organised. No wonder they’ve been rated the best ice in the area 😍

Amazing ice cream too many flavours to choose from. everything from vanilla to apple crumble to chocolate orange . I've never seen so many different flavours in one place.

Stopped here and soooooo glad we did. What a fabulous place!!! Ice cream amazing so many different flavours to select from. And the price too for the size of the ice creams amazing. The man serving in the van was such a nice guy, friendly, great attitude and good banter. He even informed us his neighbour was from our home town it’s a small world!!!! If ever in Ulverston take the costal route to Barrow and you will find this amazing stop off and what a view there is too!! Thank you very much Xxxx

Walking around the Ulverston coast, near the Bardsea area, you will find Roys ice cream van parked near the beach. There is room to park a car if you have driven there rather than walked. Whatever you do try one of the many flavours of Roys yummy ice cream cones. My favourite is the vanilla honeycomb , but there are loads of others to choose from too.

Roys has a great choice, great taste and always there. Nice place to buy a tasty ice cream and enjoy the view

Lovely sunny warm day for Feb so took grandson for an ice cream - queues as expected as this ice cream can is talked about for miles !!! Not too long to wait, vast amount of flavours to chose from & all ice creams are a gorgeous taste too. The waffle cone are a must & very reasonably priced too. Staff very friendly & have seating area too, plus bowls of water for dogs - nice touch.

Whilst down the beach for a a walk we joined the large Que of people for our Sunday ice cream. There is around 40 different flavours and all home made and the choice was soon made up. It was soon served up by some lovely friendly staff in a large waffle cone. My partner wasn’t that adventurous on the cold Autumn afternoon so he settled for a hot cup of coffee which we sat on the beach with and watched a unexpected visitor land in his light aircraft on the beach. Well worth a visit it just has be done, if you want a delicious ice cream a hot drink or a cool drink and sit and admire the views across the bay.

Wow what an amazing icecream van, 20 favours to choose from 2 large scoops in a waffle cone £2 add a flake for 30p !!! Value is amazing. Located in a lay by pull in for an ice cream treat highly recommended.

Roy's Ices is always a great place to stop for an ice cream, either after a day on the beach or just for a nice cream when passing. It's great to see sorbet on the menu as it means that people in the family who are dairy-free can also join in!

Recently went on a family holiday to the lake district and stopped in bardsea for an ice cream. Roy's had an excellent variety of ice cream that tasted amazing. Each member of the family said it was potentially the best ice cream they'd ever had. Nice one Roy, would return to bardsea just to have another ice cream from Roy's ices!

Every time I go to Roy’s, there is always a huge lineup. So when I got a chance to take 10 of my friends and their kids, we jumped at it. Delicious, homemade, real ice cream, served with such charm and friendliness by the beautiful coast of Bardsea, I can’t wait to go back and try the other flavours! Roy’s is a staple activity when you are visiting the Lake District.

We came from the US to ride the Black Horses with Tracey, and we stopped for cones. The honey crunch was to die for! The best. Worth taking a break from our ride, and that's saying a lot.

I’ve tasted some ice cream in my time but I can easily say that Roy’s Quality Ices is the best I’ve found. No wonder there was a queue 20 deep.

Called here with three grandkids today, surprised to see huge queues even though it was only 4 degrees outside! Amazing what sunshine will do. Three very happy grandkids afterwards and Cumbria Cow isn’t open until Easter ☹️

Fabulous range of Ice creams in cones or tubs. Very popular especially on a sunny day, expect queues, although you are not left waiting long. Well established and great setting for a trip to the seaside.

Being local often stop for an ice-cream - favourite has to be blackcurrant & liquorice, though all taste great, and really good value.

Driving along the coast road near Ulverston it was a surprise to see such a long queue at an ice cream "van". Since it was a hot day we stopped to have some. Quite a decision really as there's a large selection of flavours. I had the chocolate, my wife the strawberry shortcake, both absolutely delicious. So good in fact that we even made a special trip two days later to have some more.

So many flavours to choose from, great value as well.

Ulverston, known for Stan Laurel, Sir John Barrow and Roy's ices. Don't be put off by the long queue. That tells you its gonna be good!!

Best ice-cream around!! They variety of homemade flavours make choosing an ice-cream so difficult! Especially because they all taste sooo good!! They are very reasonably priced and can mix and match flavours. Brilliant location on the coast road right by the beach 🌊

Often park here and buy a delicious ice cream cone, loads of flavours, top class. Seats nearby to sit and admire the views, tea and coffee available .

Having stayed in Aldingham many times we decided to walk along the beach as far as roys ices and was well worth the 6 mile round trip. Plenty of choice and very reasonably priced. He even provided a bowl of water for our dog

Brilliant ice cream but takes a while to choose as so many flavours. Easy to park nearby and good seats with a view across Morecambe bay to see. Seems to be popular with locals and visitors alike.

Rain or shine it's always Roy's ices time. Delicious home made flavours such as lemon meringue, Kendal mint cake and apple crumble. Very reasonable prices and a lovely view sitting watching the world go by ...

We passed this tiny ice cream van a few times before we actually tried it, unfortunately! The ice cream is amazing, and the prices excellent. Cant recommend this highly enough, just wish we had one of these at home!

Bejeweled with a myriad of tantalisingly obscure flavours, Roy's ice-creams shine like a beacon from Bardsea across the Morecombe Bay. Generous scoops of these dairy delights fill either plain or waffle cones at only £2. Has impressed all of my visitors from around the globe and impossible to pass without popping in to taste a new combination of flavours, kicking back and talking in the views. Get in there!

Great choice of ice creams Taste lovely. It was such a shame that man who served us was so rude and abrupt would have gone back to eat more but the service we had before put us all off.

After extensive testing involving countless visits (and trying most of the home-made flavours) we can finally announce that Lemon Meringue <> beats Apple Crumble!! One can also walk / play on the beach and take in the awesome view of Morecambe Bay,

We agree with everything said in May 2016 review .We were there also mid May and by mid afternoon the area was crowded Roy was doing a roaring trade, and no wonder amazing flavours - two big scoops in a waffle cone for £2 exceptional value The best ice cream we have ever tasted one of the highlights of the holiday!!!

The liquorice and black currant flavour is amazing. We went after people kept mentioning it, so not disappointed. Prices good, flavours amazing, will be back

Roy's Ices are amazing! He has a wide variety of flavours to suit everyone and they are all homemade. The prices are very reasonsable with 2 scoops on a waffle cone for only £2. If you have young kids you could easily spend an afternoon down there with lots of seating available for adults while the kids tire themselves out on the beach.
