Had a meal on the day of new menu-disappointed that there was no choice for plain food except fish and chips!-no Scampi-no Chicken-please relook at this for plain eaters! Beef was tough in parts and the new potatoes with the fish were hard and bland! The duck was amazing as was the Eton Mess-so please please look at putting chicken on your menu -also have a mains salmon that’s not smoked!-on the whole lovely food as always-just needs a few tweeks!

We stayed for four nights in may with our dog, it was a fantastic home from home very comfortable and looking to go back, the garden was great for our beautiful boy duke to play in

An amazing venue. Great food, excellent service and friendly and efficient colleagues. Also accommodation on site which was well equipped, a home from home. We had a Sunday lunch which was delicious. Lots of beautifully cooked beef and good value for money. We'll definitely go back.

Have just returned from an overnight stay at this amazing place celebrating my wife's birthday. The accommodation is lovely, absolutely spotless and very comfortable,the bar is very well stocked and reasonably priced,the food is excellent, very good prices and covers all requirements! The staff are lovely, very attentive and polite, special mention to the girls in the restaurant,hard working and really on top of their game!

This is such a lovely welcoming friendly pub, friendly helpful staff, especially Danwbo never left me with an empty pint haha. Good selection of alcohol, although never tried the food it looked and smelled nice.

Lovely Sunday dinner for Mothers Day. I'd booked for 7 of us but initially forgot to tell then we also had 2 labradors. I phoned up the night before and they were very accommodating even though they were clearly busy. The food itself was excellent, clean plates all round and the desserts just topped off a brilliant meal. The staff are all really friendly too. They even gave the mums a lovely potted begonia, such a lovely touch. We'll definitely return.

We held our sons christening here for over 100 guests and the service, food and staff was 10/10. Dan and his staff couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend for functions and Sunday lunches it’s family friendly, good food and a good atmosphere. What more could you want!

We are regular visitors and have never been disappointed for lunch or dinner Wide range of perfectly cooked locally sourced dishes with bar snacks and sandwiches also Busy so better to book for larger parties Big portions, excellent local beer and nice wine list without any of the ridiculous mark-ups found elsewhere

This is how a country pub should be run. Friendly welcome from the moment you walk in. A good selection of beers. The menu has all the usual favourites and they have an interesting specials board. The children on our group were well catered for and all the food was excellent. Its good to get a side dish of seasonal vegetables. A relaxed evening. They have kept their prices reasonable, compared to other pubs in the area..

Service was excellent even though they were clearly busy. Food was fantastic the place was clean tody and a good country design.

Fantastic is an understatement, a warm and friendly greeting as we arrived and given a choice of tables either in the bar area or the dining room. The service was excellent, no being rushed to order. When the food came after ordering it was a very large plate of food and it was delicious for both me and my girlfriend, I had the roast beef off the specials and it melted in your mouth and my girlfriend had the prawn sandwich and chips which she said was delicious. The bill when it arrived didn't reflect the very high standard of food very very reasonable and two very very happy customers. Will definitely return

We went with friends on Saturday night. What a lovely place the food was excellent and very reasonable. We know Dan the manager from when he worked at The New Drop it was great to see him again. We will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.

A warm welcome and ability to do simple food very well. We stayed on the cottage complex for a week and enjoyed several meals here. Being greeted by Dan (Manager?) we were treated in excellent fashion each time without exception. Our pooches were very welcome and they put absolutely no pressure on us with timing or table choices. It’s rare to find a roadhouse bistro/pub/good old fashioned eatery where everyone is welcome and your spirit is lifted by staff to create a genuine smile that lasts. Keep going Dan and Team, you are all aces in our books 😊

Called here for lunch and to check on one of their Christmas events..what a lovely place. Lunch was excellent and reasonably priced. Service first class, and beer top notch. Really enjoyable, in a busy inn on a wet Wednesday. Booked the Christmas event, because we know the singer is excellent. Looking forward to our next visit...

We have just returned from an excellent short break at 2 Dorchester Drive, one of the lovely cottages adjacent to the Cross Keys Inn. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for us and our dog. We enjoyed a super meal at the pub. Lovely home cooked food and reasonably priced. Suggest booking as it was very busy on a Wednesday evening. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. Friendly and professional staff made us very welcome. Despite the weather we visited Beacon Fell visitors centre and cafe and a walk to the summit. Couldn't appreciate the view as it was torrential rain hopefully on our next visit the weather will be kinder.

Visited with friends for lunch on Wednesday 2nd August. Decided to skip starters, and glad we did because the main courses were all excellent and large! We all had different meals and we all left clean plates. Thoroughly recommend the “Dirty chips!” Service was excellent and place was clean and tidy. Perhaps the only extremely minor criticism, a bit lacking in pictures/decor having opened reasonably recently. I remember the place when it was an extension of a cattle shed (or felt like it) with a biscuit tin for a till… it’s a massive improvement! Would not hesitate to highly recommend.

WOW Just Walked In From The Cross Keys Starters 2 Brie 1 Chicken Gojouns 1 Black Pudding And Chrizo Mains 2 Chicken Fillet Burgers Blacksticks Chicken Lovely Staff Friendly And Very Attentive Small Menu But Was Still Undecided What To Have. Food Was Out Of This World, If I Was To Change Anything It Would Be The Portion Size 🙈🙈

Just had Sunday lunch. Excellent food and service. Very dog friendly. Dogs allowed in the bar area. Nothing to much trouble made to feel welcome. Portion sizes enormous. Will give you a mention on my dog blog.

What a lovely place. Had a great weekend in a cottage. Staff in the pub were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back soon.

We were recommended to visit and were not disappointed. Everything was excellent especially the food and the staff. We visited on a very busy Sunday lunch and could not fault it at all. The portions were huge and it was very good value for money. We will definitely be back
