Berrington's in Liverpool

Our meal was simply delicious ! I had reservations about visiting simply because I'm not really a "grill" type person. However, this was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time . I had the fillet steak and it was cooked perfectly and beautifully tender . I had the pork belly for starters which likewise was delicious and not too fatty (even for pork belly). The hispi cabbage side was yum too. The only dish that was underwhelming was my partner's starter - smoked burrata - we both found it fairly tasteless . As we both love burrata , it was disappointing . That aside, the meal really was excellent and we will definitely return. Very good wine list too.

I’ve been to Berringtons numerous times and every single visit I am always blown away. The food is phenomenal, the staff are attentive and knowledgable, the location is convenient and there is always a warm and friendly ambience from the second you walk through the door. The constantly revolving menus mean that you are spoilt for choice with every visit. I highly highly recommend!

Absolutely love it here! Literally faultless every single time both the food and service. Make sure you get the confit potatoes as a side they are ridiculously good!

Haven't reviewed for a little while but felt my recent experiences here are worthy of encouraging others to go. I'd been to this location many years ago when it was Neon Jamon. I then went to Berringtons just before Xmas for a meal prior to my Dads cremation following a drive up and having some time. That experience was just great and I thought next time I'm up I'll go for the more extensive evening menu. So glad I did. It has I suppose what may be termed booths each side of the restaurant and we had the same table as previously close to the pass. Between us we had the pork belly and the burrata as starters. The pork belly was so soft and full of flavour whilst the burrata had a faint hint of the promised smokiness that it advertised. Its available in a lot of supermarkets these days but a reason for eating out is to get a good quality experience and this was well sourced....as was all the food. We then both went for the rib eye, believe it or not it was for the roscoff onion that clinched it over the plum for me. It was a good decision, the steak had a good crust but inside was just as I ordered. Medium rare with lots of flavour. The roscoff had some blue cheese with it and really added to the steak. We shared some cheese at the end and the whole meal was a delight. The quality of the food was matched by the staff. Attentive without being overbearing and my pet hate is asking for bill and then waiting....the bill came quickly. This might be because they wanted the table turned over as it is v popular but it was good to see. This visit was to follow up on dealing with Dads estate so these visits were not at the best of times but these visits were exactly what was needed to make the trip less painful

First time at Berringtons and couldn’t have been more impressed. Staff were so friendly, welcoming and full of smiles. The service was great with nothing too much trouble. We chose the Quail and the Goats cheese beignet and both were very tasty. We both then had the Iberico pork special and it just melted in the mouth, it was amazing! Rhubarb and custard tart for dessert and this was really good too. Great food, great service in a restaurant with such a lovely vibe and atmosphere, Berringtons is a real find! Came here twice within a week! First for a surprise baby shower and second for a Sunday Roast, neither disappointed! Food and service was amazing on both occasions and would highly recommend!!

Well well well, what a shocking surprise! Staff are totally friendly, lovely, knowledgeable and relaxed, eating was most enjoyable experience with a chilled out vide! Dined on many occasions and every visit is always as good as the last. Food is amazing, and the team are always on hand to help.

We've dined at Berrington's three times now and it's a very, very well-executed, simple grill-based menu. Tonight we had, goat's cheese, chicken and squid starters, followed by rib-eye steaks and sea bass. All beautifully cooked. There is also a well-judged, good quality wine and drinks list. The service is also great: attentive without being imposing. Cheerful, busy staff know the menu well and advise accordingly. We had a very nice bottle of amaretto with the meal and there is always a really good atmosphere. We were downstairs tonight, but we've dined upstairs in the past and they manage to pull off the difficult challenge of balancing the atmosphere up and downstairs. Berrington's does very well alongside its longer-established next-door neighbour, Spire, and is easily one of the best restaurants in the area.

The perfect neighbourhood restaurant with city centre standard food and wine list. They even do premium champagne by the glass which is a real draw. We are foodies and rarely go back to places more than once but we have been here 4 times! I’ve actually had the chicken thigh starter twice as it’s soo good. I usually go for a fish dish for main - I’ve had swordfish, tuna and sea bass. All excellent. Last night we had a pudding for the first time and I can highly recommend. Rhubarb and custard tart! One of the best desserts we have had. I can’t recommend berringtons highly enough. It’s perfect for couples and groups a like. Enjoy!

Everything about the place is exceptional, from the food, to the cocktails to the service. Can’t fault it. We visited here both for New Year’s Eve and our wedding anniversary.

My wife and I went with a couple of friends to celebrate my birthday. I'd heard good reports about Berrington's but was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Its reputation means you do have to book ahead. We went for dinner at 7.00 pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was already buzzing upstairs and downstairs, which is always a healthy sign. From the word go the welcome and the service was first class and we were royally looked after by Lisa, a wonderful advert for Scouse hospitality and customer care! Despite the busyness we didn't have to wait too long for any of our courses. And the food is divine. Unlike some restaurants which over-face you with massive menus Berrington's refreshes its menu monthly and takes the view that quality not quantity is the order of the day but the menu offers good choice in respect of meat, fish and vegetarian. The wine list is fine - we had a bottle of fizz and a French rose. I had rolled herrings and then venison and my wife went for crispy squid and ribeye steak. Both mains came with vegetables and we didn't need any sides. Really top-rate food and a lovely atmosphere. It's not the cheapest place but it's certainly one of the best in the city and overall good value for money. Thank you Berrington's - we'll be back!

One of our favourite places to eat in Liverpool. Top-notch food, Delicious cocktails, great wine selections and quality service! We're greeted warmly every time, and the staff are always genuine and friendly. The food is consistently delicious, and the restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere and design decor with a bar that shows great attention to detail with their cocktails - from the glasses to the garnishes and design add-ons. The amazing food is only rivalled by the staff's service. Arguably the best staff/team around. We'll be back again, and again... and again.

Berrington's is one of my favourite places to dine in Liverpool and is, without a doubt, one of Liverpool's TOP restaurants. Always a great atmosphere with attentive and brilliant staff. Great selection of wines, Excellent cocktails and first-class food. If you want first-class dining with first-class service, then Berrington's is for you.
