The best restaurants serving British food in North West

Huge potions, great prices, very friendly and welcoming. It's definitely a hidden gem, and my new favourite chippy.

Called in today for a takeaway ‘Gourmet Baguette’ (smoked Salmon, cream cheese, salad, sweet chilli sauce and a bag of crisps) which was delicious. We also enjoyed coffee and walnut cake and good coffee. We will certainly return next time we are in the beautiful unspoiled village of Dent. We took our lunch to eat outside in a field near the main car park which had beautiful views and picnic tables. The carpark has car charging points, toilets and a disabled loo which was clean.

Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.

We were among the first to experience the newly refurbished dining room and menu. It is fabulous! Excellent service and knowledgable team on all subjects food and wine. Eight courses all very tasty but the stand out was the first dessert which is a take on Thai curry. The trout and beef courses are also excellent and the soufflé was the best we've ever had. Quite pricey and the speed through the courses was a bit quick but overall, a great experience and we'll happily return

What a find! Have a sausage sandwich.

We're lucky that this is our local tea room. Food, service, and atmosphere all excellent. The cafe is hidden behind d the village hall but well worth finding. Plenty of free parking. Warning, It is very popular, so it's best to book!

So glad to have had Café Bonbon recommended to me by word of mouth. What an excellently-run café! David is a friendly and accommodating proprietor, nothing seems too much trouble and he takes time to genuinely engage with customers. Placing an order a day in advance went smoothly. David was helpful and efficient in responding to both phone and email enquiries and his communication was excellent, which is always a godsend, especially these days. The sandwiches are fresh, tasty and made with care. Superb choice of fillings and dressings! The cakes are also delicious, fresh and interesting. All in all, good value for money. A wholly positive experience, and one that you only get when someone loves what they do. Looking forward to returning in the future! Thank you David and David.

We’ve eaten here a few times and the food is usually freshly prepared and reliably good. But on this visit, we weren’t blown away by the Sunday roast. The roast potatoes were under seasoned, the veg was over seasoned and we’d be amazed if the lamb was freshly roasted/carved, it seemed pre sliced and was very average. The service was friendly, but slow rather than steady, we had young children in our group and their food came with the starters so they had to wait a really long time before the rest of us were ready to order the desserts, giving them time to get quite restless. We also had a missing meal from every course, and had to remind the staff of what had been ordered. It was nice enough but I wouldn’t race back for a Sunday roast.

Lovely breakfast, well worth the wait

Thank you so much for making our meal for our 40th wedding anniversary with our friends so memorable. The standard of food was superb and presentation exceptional, this was down to the dedication of the team in the kitchen and their mentors . The service we received from the young man (clover) was outstanding and he should be rightly proud as the rest of the serving team and mentors should be. £21 yes £21 for a three course restaurant meal and expirience. When we are next up this way on holiday we shall most definately be booking a lunch and will recommend to our family and friends. Finally a big thankyou for the marvellous cake which you presented to us. It was delicious and again a reflection of the superb team you have at the college including the your booking collegue. Oh my goodness what an amazing place and certainly the reason we will be back to the area again. We called in during a dog walk and had freshly baked warm scones and a hot drink. The menu was vast and something for everyone. Very professional staff, super friendly and we even brought some cakes back to Cheshire!!!

The children's meal was amazing you got an animal cupcake, tomato soup, strawberry jelly with sprinkles and marshmallows, sandwiches, donut with sprinkles, fries,a very mini pizza. They do gluten free food aswell. Very good service there is very nice food. I would definitely recommend this place for afternoon tea or just a nice day out. @SykesideRossendaleEngland
