Coulson's in Lancaster

Popped in for lunch without reservation but they found us a table despite being busy. Brilliant starters - potted crab / asparagus & crispy egg (perfectly cooked!). We both had vegan lentil cottage pie (hot, tasty, quite filling). Service outstanding, quick and friendly, prices reasonable considering the quality, good beer. Only disappointing thing was the coffee afterwards - ok, but not to the quality of the remainder. Recommended.

Went for afternoon tea today with friends had a lovely meal , service was great Gurpreet made us all very welcome she was very attentive and informative ,and a joy to be around , we’ll be back soon well done to all who served and catered today

4 of us attended the 6-course taster menu last night and it was absolutely fabulous. The food was fantastic quality & was served with flair. I was offered tasty & interesting vegetarian options and the meat eaters loved the salt marsh lamb. The poached plaice and the white chocolate & blood orange dessert were firm favourites. An absolutely excellent evening with a lovely atmosphere, and friendly, attentive service. As a College restaurant, it is a great way to help train the hospitality workforce of the future and the food & drinks are VERY reasonably priced. My only criticism is that there was just too much food - although we all managed to eat everything 😂

I went to the Bay Restaurant at L&M College on two occasions with a group of friends for the Christmas lunch and also the carvery. The food was excellent and the students were very friendly and helpful especially Gurpreet who found the time to take this photo for us. Will definitely be back.

We went to the restaurant for the Valentine’s afternoon tea this week and what a lovely experience it was from start to finish. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, by the lovely friendly staff/ students. They accompanied us to our table, which was set up beautifully, and nothing was too much trouble, they were very attentive throughout, Unlimited tea and coffee was offered and our afternoon tea was served to us without any delay, the 3 tiered cake stand was filled to the brim. With a variety of tasty sandwiches, pastries and delicious homemade cakes, the food was of an exceptional standard. What a treat, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we shall definitely be going back. Thank you for a most enjoyable afternoon.

Went for lunch today with my dad, wasn’t expecting much - but wow was I wrong!! Amazing food, beautifully presented by lovely attentive people, especially Gurpeet who couldn’t have been more helpful if she had tried! Dessert to die for. Have booked to come again and can’t wait. Thank you for a lovely relaxed lunch.

I had a wonderful meal at the bay restaurant, the food was delicious and very good value. The service was great and our waitresses were very attentive.

Went for a ladies Christmas lunch. The staff were fabulous the food was beautifully well presented and a bargain price in my opinion will definitely return. Thank you all

We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the revamped Bay Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the front-of-house students were friendly and helpful. Great choice of sandwiches and cakes, and my vegetarian option was served separately which was very thoughtful. Excellent service and value for money.

We have enjoyed the delights of the college food and the warm friendly service of the young students. Afternoon teas, buffet lunches and 3 course menus have all been of exceptional standard. I have questioned the bill more than once as I thought they were undercharging me, drinks are exceptional value as is the food.

We were fortunate enough to be invited to a Birthday Party at Coulson's on Wednesday 14th December....we had been to Coulson's before and had a great time but this event was even better. The staff were so attentive and friendly, nothing was enough trouble. The food was as excellent as last time, the quality, variety and presentation was brilliant. We tried many of the dishes on offer, Barbeque and Curried Chicken, Lasagne, Croquettes, Pasta and Rice.. The desserts were equally as good, Berry Tart, Cheesecake, Chocolate Log and my favourite the Bread & Butter Pudding...!!

The experience was really good and the food was great but needed some changes in the dishes and the bread needed some salt . But the main needed some tweaks and the pudding needed some crunch into it . It was great to be back at College at Lancaster and Morecambe College .

We went for the Christmas Lunch menu on my birthday and had a great time. Service can be a little slow at times, but it is nice to go at a leisurely pace when eating. The restaurant is run by the students and staff - from the cooking, serving and everything else. It is great experience for them and a great experience for us too. The students and staff are always friendly and do seem to be trying their best throughout. The quality of the food is excellent and very well presented. We will certainly be back again soon to try out other food they have.

What a brilliant two days for 8 WI's from the area. The students did everything from cooking to serving the themed menu's, all local produce, a red and white theme for the tables, all the table mats were scenes of Lancashire and we even had a Lancashire Tasters table. To top it all off they made us Birthday Cake. Full marks for attention to detail. Well done Coulson's

Visited the Coulson Restaurant for a WI lunch, there were a lot of us! The food was great and the service excellent. The tables had been set up beautifully for our event, couldn't possibly be bettered. Support your local college and local students who were just amazing!!

Dined today 25/9/19 always good food as always and it’s very good for the students to learn in a work environment

Dined on 15th may: me and my husband really enjoyed the evening the students were presented smartly. The best dish I had was the beer chicken breast and the fish was tender and the Chicken was the best one yet ever tasted . My husband enjoyed the chicken too he was amazed how tender it was can’t wait to come back. But I think there should be more management

A friend of ours recently retired and we took her to the Lancaster and Morecambe College's very own restaurant, Coulson's. Having been there half a dozen times over the past few years with friends and with family we knew we would not be disappointed. The restaurant is delightfully decorated, lets in lots of light (it was a lunchtime meal), and is spacious. The lunch menu was mouth-watering and sophisticated. We had the full three course meal, and every course was delicious. The ingredients are freshly sourced, of high quality, perfectly prepared, and we were served by young men who have been trained to be professional and certainly knew how to please the customer. No complaints either about the portions! And the prices, including that for the very good bottle of Italian wine, most reasonable. Coulson's does the college and the whole community proud and I'm sure the very famous individual whose name it proudly bears would have admired the truly high educational standards which the course tutors have set their students. Certainly all the other guests dining there seemed equally impressed by the whole experience being offered.

Had an amazing lunch today witch was an Carvery front of house staff were professional and that the student on the bar worked well under pressure and that. Presentation of food on the heat lamps were outstanding

Dined on 7 Feb - new spring menu which did not disappoint. Starters were delicious. My husband raved about the carrot & coriander soup - the balance was just right. Main courses Goosnargh Chicken stuffed with pistachio & Fish of the day cooked to perfection but the thing that really topped this off was the individual deep filled apple tart with cinnamon custard full marks to the chef who baked these. Good teamwork from the young front of house staff who were friendly and attentive - it can be quite nerve wrecking faced with a full house of diners all arriving at the same time but they coped admirably. Thanks to Adrian for overseeing all this we had a wonderful time for Brian's birthday and will definitely be returning on a regualr basis. Having dined at the Midland on previous Saturday all we can say is there are some talented young people at LMC. Well done guys and thank you

The students put on a Chinese buffet to day to celebrate the Chinese New year which we had to try. There was a nice choice of starter that you collected from the buffet all nice and hot and well cooked and flavoursome and what was very nice is that they tasted of what they should be. Again the main course was on buffet display and again nice flavours and a good choice however this is where they loose a couple of points firstly the beef and pork was a little on the tough side could have been more tender and the mains when collected them was cold as I understand that some one had turned the hot plate down. The sweet consisted of Banana and pineapple fritters with pouring cream these where nice and hot and served from the kitchen, a bit to much for us as there was no shortage of quantity. Service was very polite students nervous which you would expect and value for money was spot on. We both enjoyed our lunch and will be back again.

Excellent meal and pleasant atmosphere will defiantly go again.easy to park and warm friendly place to visit.

I recently had lunch at the Coulson's and can highly recommend this restaurant. Service by the friendly, attentive students is excellent and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. Very good value for money.

I had an excellent lunch at Coulson's restaurant at Lancaster & Morecambe college. The salmon starter had a delicate flavour & was presented well. The duck was beautifully cooked and had a really well flavoured sauce. Excellent & attentive front of house staff.

Good food cheap prices! What more could you want? Students have got a lot to learn but considering their age, it was very good.

Fuimos a Coulson's por segunda vez y fue tan buena! Tomando en cuenta que los estudiantes del primer y segundo año que nos y en la cocina sólo puedo decir bien hecho - no sé cómo lo hace. Comida maravillosa, buen servicio y barato. ¿Qué más se puede pedir! Nuestra camarera 'Ellie' fue para el hotel y catering!

Tenía una gran comida de Navidad en el último viernes 16 de Coulson de diciembre de 2016. Fue excelente. Presentación de la comida, el servicio, la calidad y el sabor, el precio, la limpieza, la cordial bienvenida, y todo por los estudiantes. El colegio debería tener la enhorabuena por su capacitación profesional.

Una celebración que se realiza en este magnífico restaurante para 55 personas. Comida de tres platos, excelente servicio de confianza, capaz de estudiantes, gran ambiente. Altamente recomendado por todos estos motivos, además, una increíble relación calidad-precio... un menú elegante y experiencia para mediados de dinero gama.

We have never eaten at Coulson's, and were told about it by friends, we tried to get there many times but never made it. Well we did the other day. and so glad we did. The food is always exceptional, very tasty and beautifully presented using fresh ingredients. It was there buffet lunch, Soup, 3 choices of main course. including 3 choices of veg option, the deserts were just to die for there was about 8 to pick from, well how can you so I had 2. The meal is extremely good value for money, and the students who prepare the food and serve the customers are first class. Can't wait to try one of the themed evenings. It is quite small so you need to book early.

We visited Coulsons restaurant fir their Valentines meal. It was fabulous! Fantastuc service by the students who are learning! We certainly could not fault it! Mid week night out, great food, I would advuse any one to give them a try. Excellent value and good choice of reasonably priced wines! They do lunchtime meals as wellWe will visit again

I've eaten at Coulson's a few times, most recently with work for our Christmas meal. The food is always exceptional; very tasty and beautifully presented using fresh ingredients. The food is extremely good value for money, and the students who prepare the food and serve the customers are always polite and professional and are a credit to the college. I highly recommend!

I've only eaten twice at Coulsons but plan to do so again. The service, albeit by students, is first class and the food is outstanding.

We have supported various functions at the Coulson's, the quality of the food is always excellent and tremendous value for money. The restaurant is always well presented , it's great to support the local college / future chef's.

12 of us booked Coulson's for the beginning of October and had a really nice evening. The restaurant looked great - they make a real effort to make the place look spectacular. We were very impressed with the competency and level of service from the students after such little time on their courses. And the food...well... it was just amazing! Absolutely delicious, well-presented vegetarian dishes - I couldn't have been happier and I couldn't believe the value for money! We all had a really enjoyable evening. I'm definitely coming back for my birthday in December!

Coulson's is tucked away on the first floor of one of the College buildings, but once inside, the surroundings are excellent. The food was fantastic quality, particularly for the price of £17.95 for a four course dinner. \Wine was also very reasonably priced. The portions are a good size and all the courses we had were excellent and presented to a very high standard. There were some imaginative combinations and some classic favourites (such a treacle tart) on offer, all of which could not be faulted. We will definitely be returning for a Christmas lunch!

The food and service at Coulson's Restaurant are first class. The students are very friendly and highly professional. The presentation of the food was exceptional and the sweet trolley offers an amazing range of tempting deliciousness to round off a highly enjoyable evening. I was very impressed and would definitely book again.

I recently ate at the Coulson's restaurant as part of a work event. You are made aware that it will be students preparing your food but by no means does this dampen the quality of what is served. We ate four courses altogether followed by coffee and each course was delicious.All the food is loving made and came out fresh, tasty and piping hot. I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you are looking for somewhere to host a corporate dinner or a romantic meal for two. The restaurant itself is lovely and you would never guess you were on a college campus, and the price is excellent!The bar is fully stocked and drink prices are also great.Top quality food for a very low price! I would definitely recommend!
