Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.

Perfect stop on a rainy English day/night. Drying cupboard for the wet outer clothing, and a place to dry mucky boots; owners made us feel relaxed and oh so welcome. The Hadrian's Wall is so close!

Wonderful! Lovely room with a super comfy bed and luxurious linens. Breakfast was generous and delicious. You’re lucky if you get the opportunity to stay.

27 The GreenThe owner treats his staff really badly, as a customer, you are made to feel rushed and unvalued. The service by the owner is unorganised and chaotic, the young staff however, are great. As nice as the breakfast and cakes are, go elsewhere, the owner is the perfect example of how not to run a business. If he wants to succeed, as I suspect he does, he’ll have to seriously rethink his approach of running a small local business.
