My husband and I have often been to the Fold for drinks or small group meals. This was the first time we have had a family meal here. The service was fantastic, food was delicious and very reasonably priced, we felt. Being a fairly big group we were asked to order starters and mains in advance, which we did. One of the party asked if it would be possible to change her main meal on the day… this was done with no problem at all. Atmosphere was as lovely as ever, despite being obviously busy. Fabulous afternoon, thanks to all the staff.

Four of us ate here today, the Sunday roasts I'm told were good. I have the steak wrap with fries. The steak was delicious and moist. I would recommend the food here, it's good pub food at a reasonable price. The dining room in my opinion could do with some TLC, the place mats on my table were shabby and the table was slightly sticky and subtracted from our visit. There is what looks like dried condensation marks on the upper right hand wall as you walk in which doesn't look pleasant. The staff were OK. Good parking.

Cafe Waterside is an absolute delight! From the cozy ambiance to the friendly, attentive staff, everything about this place makes you feel right at home. But the real star of the show? Their chocolate cake. Hands down, one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s incredibly light, perfectly moist, and has just the right balance of richness without being too heavy. It melts in your mouth and pairs beautifully with their fresh coffee. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick treat or a leisurely afternoon, don’t miss the chocolate cake—it’s worth the trip alone! Dog friendly too.

The food was lovely, if a bit on the expensive side but to be expected in a hotel restaurant. The waiting staff were very good and attentive. The atmosphere should have been lovely and could be so easily improved - for some reason they were playing cheesy hits loudly, the sort of music that would get me dancing in a club at 2am but not what you want as you are eating dinner in a restaurant.

Me and my children were visiting my dad and he recommended coming here to watch Manchester United. We decided to stay for food and it was lovely. Steak was amazing, sea bass was lovely and my son enjoyed his burger. The pudding was delightful. The only reason I didn’t give 5 star was because we missed out on the Sunday roast. We’ll be back soon.
