The best restaurants serving British food in North West

I read the reviews and felt like I'd come across a different place. Terrible service, and my vegetarian Sunday roast with beef gravy... And we weren't the only ones; everyone in the waiting room was upset about the delay.

Staff were amazing. Food was great. Walks around the barn are fabulous.

Excellent stay. Great location. Rooms slightly dated but well appointed. MVery attentive staff. Bar was cosy to relax in of an evening. Great to wake to the sound of cathedral bells outside on a Sunday.

Visited bank holiday weekend, it was relatively quiet but still had a good atmosphere! Nice cosy pub. Lee who served us was great! Very welcoming and attentive. He made our drinks quickly and they were lovely! Food was top notch and arrived fast. Highly recommend 5*.

A lovely pub, nice staff. Unfortunately I got food poisoning after visiting here on our way home from a weekend away. I would not recommend the loaded fries. The chips were of poor quality and clearly were not prepared correctly for me to walk away unwell! My partner’s meal was fine (sausage and mash) but the portion was small.

Came here today for my mums birthday. Had a amazing evening. Had a lovely meal and dessert with plenty of drinks. Food was perfect and great prices. Bar manager davy looked after us all night with great service. Great man. All staff members where very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible staff and terrible service

We went here last night for my birthday, years of driving past and wondering what it's like, my curiosity is now forfilled. The food was fabulous, arrived quickly, and cooked great. The service was great, all the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. This will definitely be a regular place we visit now, I may even bring the rest of the family next time lol. We didn't stay over, so therefore no clue what the rooms are like but the pub and restaurant are beautiful.

The Chicken Roulade at The Pavilion is hands down the best dish I’ve had in ages – absolutely packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. Please, please, please never take it off the menu! The whole place has such a lovely atmosphere – calm, cosy, and really welcoming. The staff are even lovelier – attentive, kind, and genuinely make the experience feel special. A real hidden gem that delivers on all fronts. Can’t wait to come back!

Overpriced for the standard of food and service, totally inexperienced staff, slow service we had table booked for 5.30 and had meal served at 6.30. the roast !!!!!! was processed meat the potatoes were deep fried and resembled very big chips and if a Yorkshire was required had to pay extra. When dessert was delivered I had to insist on the dinner plates be removed from the table, I’ve been to here in the past when it was a brilliant local pub with great food and homely atmosphere unfortunately it’s now a McDonald,s that serves not so cheap food , DO NOT USE

Great place to eat and Drink in the heart of Rainhill. Food is consistently good!
